In the next update named Xylander the Soviet faction gets a new rifle as promised. In the last update we introduced the German StG44 and the American M1/M2 Carbine, as a high-level infantry weapons and here is the equivalent Soviet version. The Soviet players will get access to the Avtomaticheskaya Vintovka Simonova 1936 model (Автоматическая винтовка Симонова) aka the AVS-36.
This impressive weapon was designed by Sergei Simonov in the early thirties and a completed version appeared in 1936. Since it fires a full-size rifle cartridge (like the American M1918 Automatic Rifle) it has a powerful recoil and requires some skill to control at full auto, BUT it does more damage than the intermediate cartridge used in the StG-44.
Ingame version
AVS-36 Variations
The variations available are (apart from the factory standard): Army Paint, Birch tree, Camouflage 'A' Paint, Russian Blackwood, and Russian Oak.
Players can also choose to equip the rifle with a PU (T-post) scope should they so choose, this will turn it into a very effective medium-long range weapon that can also be switched to full auto for storming buildings etc.
Bayonet
The AVS-36 also had a bayonet designed for it. This is available to pickup as a close-combat weapon, but it is not (yet) possible to mount it on the rifle. It IS though the longest knife across all factions and makes a deadly melee weapon.

This brand-new update brings a lot of new features – Sturmgewehr 44 and M1/M2 carbines, Factory Map updates, Tank balancing pass, New scopes AND new ribbons, unlocks AND rank completion! In this update we’re updating and expanding the selection of scopes in the game. We’re introducing a nice selection of low power scopes and limiting the high power scopes to recons. Read more and see the new scopes here.
StG44 & M1/M2 Carbine
This update adds the much requested StG44 assault rifle for the German faction and the M1/M2 Carbine for the American as well as Selective Fire (switch between semi- and full-auto) on supported weapons. You can read more about the new weapons in this blog post.
In this update, all tanks and tank destroyers have been visited by the mechanic and armor plates measured and adjusted, and cannons tweaked and balanced. Read more about the changes here.
New Ribbons & Ribbon level completion
Walker also brings a bunch of new ribbons! We have given each vehicle and weapon their own specialist ribbon to progress that will unlock upgrades for that weapon/vehicle. We have merged some of the ribbons that did not unlock much into the broader Infantry and Armor Assault ribbons. AND now you can complete the individual ribbon levels using gold and currently also credits. Read more about the updates here.
Other Changes
Here is a list of some additional features in the Walker update.
Weapon reload times tweaked
AA guns tweaked to improve their AA effectiveness
Split “Supply crate” into “Health” and “Ammo”
Moved tanker to rank 5 & Pilot to rank 6
Tier 2 unlocks at rank 5
Anti-Cheat updates
…and much more…
Mobile Command
Mobile Command on Android has been updated to support the newly added Walker update. The iOS version has a protocol change that needs verification, so that is delayed for a few days, apologies, but we decided not to postpone the entire update for this.
