Over the last few months, truckers from across the globe have taken part in our World of Trucks events for Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator; Cruising Nebraska & Trade Connections Switzerland. Showcasing both our latest map expansion and the reworked country of Switzerland, our #BestCommunityEver worked hard to successfully complete both of these events before their end date.
We want to thank all of you for your participation & dedication during both these events, and we hope you enjoyed exploring Nebraska, and rediscovering the beauty of Switzerland! We've especially enjoyed reading and sharing some of the messages, pictures, videos and more from you on the road in ETS2 & ATS whilst taking part in these events.
As always, we've created a small infographic which shows some of the statistics from both of these events, which include the number of jobs completed/tonnes of cargo delivered and miles travelled.
Incredible work truckers! We cannot thank you enough for your support during the release of Nebraska, and for your positive comments on the reworked area of Switzerland. It really does bring a lot of joy to our team to see how much you enjoy participating in these events. We hope you ride with pride with your newly acquired in-game items which you have earned. Don't forget to claim them through WorldofTrucks.com.
We look forward to bringing you more World of Trucks events in the future. Let us know in the comments or on our Social Media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook) what events you'd potentially like to see in the future! We really appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to more exciting adventures on the road together. Until then, keep on truckin'.

Γειά σας! Today we're happy to share with you a new post on our upcoming Greece DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This blog focuses on the city Trikala (Τρίκαλα) and what you can expect to see on your future travels to this area. Ready to take a look? πάμε!
This city certainly has a lot history! Built upon the ancient town of Trikki, founded around 3.000 BC, Trikala's centre is a labyrinth of narrow streets and historical neighbourhoods. For this reason, truckers won't be able to travel through the city. However, our team has recreated the northern and eastern outskirts of the city where drivers will find plenty of delivery contract options.
Located in the outer eastern area of the city is the industrial area, where drivers will find a range of industries including logistic depots, warehouses and a supermarket to deliver to and from. Each one of them is detailed to match their real-life counterparts. In these areas, you'll also be able to enjoy views of the nearby mountain range.
In the Northern area, you'll find the agriculture sector of the outer city, including grain silos and other related industries. You'll also find a brand new industry in Trikala, but we will keep that surprise for another blog in the future.
We look forward to featuring more of the cities, industries and even more from our upcoming Greece DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. If you like what you see, be sure to add Greece to your Steam Wishlist, as it really supports us and our future releases. We thank you for your support. Until next time, keep on truckin'.
Another blog where we take you behind the scenes of our work is here! This time, we're excited to introduce you to our talented map designer Pavel. He is currently working on the nature and mountains for the Nordic Horizons map expansion. So let's learn more about his creative process!
Pavel - Map Designer
"In this map expansion, I am recreating the beautiful archipelago of Lofoten. It extends from mainland Norway into the North Atlantic Ocean and despite belonging to the Arctic Circle, there is plenty of taller vegetation as well. This, combined with the majesty of the mountains surrounded by water, the colourful houses, and the many fishing harbours, creates an environment that is very satisfying to both capture and pass through," Pavel says about his project.
As with all new map expansions, we conducted field research by travelling to the country ourselves to collect references and data.
"I have had the opportunity to visit Scandinavia several times. Most recently, it was made possible by the management of SCS Software for research. The journey through Norway and Sweden was very beneficial for me as a map designer," Pavel tells us and also walks us through what needed to be done before the actual designing of the map.
"Research into shorter and taller vegetation, architecture and road networks preceded the design of the landscape. Textures, models and other functional elements were gradually created in collaboration with all departments. Their use and the representation of the landscape character in the map is preceded by a layout including the road network, depots, truckstops, gas stations, etc. On this layout with the help of Google Maps, I gradually, taking into account the limits of the virtual environment and the map editor, create a landscape with natural elements. This involves a lot of spatial imagination and sometimes a little magic."
Pavel uses his experience from his previous work, being part of the team doing the Austria and Switzerland Rework projects, where he also designed mountains and nature. "Experience from past projects featuring mountains, such as the rework of Austria and Switzerland, is certainly showing in the new Nordic Horizons DLC. I'm glad to see that the possibilities and limits of the editor are expanding," he says.
Of course, there are still limitations to the map expansions and we have to work strictly within them, as Pavel confirms. "Deviation from reality is determined by our scale, visibility, optimization and interpretation," he shared with us.
And his final message to our #BestCommunityEver? "If you love traversing beautiful landscapes with Viking history and experiencing the adventure of exploration from the comfort of your home, you'll love this DLC. Personally, I love the capital of Lofoten, Svolvær, which is a really beautiful place, so make sure to visit it," he says.
We hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek into the making of our upcoming map expansion for ETS2. Today, we're excited to release a new episode in our SCS On The Road series. This time, we were given the special opportunity to get a close-up look at one of Scania's fully electric trucks at the Scania Demo Centre, located in Södertälje, Sweden.
Join Oscar, our Director of Global Partnerships, and Fredrik Sundén, Expert Engineer at Scania Group as they talk about the development of the Scania 45 R, the little sister to the Scania 40 & 45 S, and give you a guided walk-around and POV from the cabin as they drive it on the test track.
We are very grateful to the team at Scania for allowing us to film and share with you an inside look at the work that goes into creating Scania's electrified trucks. Whilst only the Scania 40 & 45 S are available in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as quick jobs, we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to test drive and learn more about its smaller counterpart, the Scania 45 R, which shares many similarities.
We hope you enjoy watching, and learning about the fully electric Scania 45 R. If you like the video, be sure to subscribe, like and leave a reply, as we'd love to hear your comments. We will see you soon for the next episode, until then, keep on truckin'!
We have another update from the Germany Rework project for our #BestCommunityEver! Today, we would like to show you how we completely revamped the cities of Osnabrück and Magdeburg for this upcoming rework phase in Euro Truck Simulator 2, so let's dive right in.
Osnabrück
This city located in the northwestern part of Germany is also known as the City of Peace. While rebuilding Osnabrück and its surroundings, we managed to make the historic centre driveable for our players, who will now be able to admire the beautiful landmarks.
The economy has been adjusted to better reflect the real locations, so truckers will deliver to a honey factory and a scrapyard in the harbour. This change makes Osnabrück one of the most picturesque cities in Germany with a lot of smaller details making it look alive.
Magdeburg
While rebuilding Magdeburg, we had a limited amount of space to work with. With that in mind, we decided to put our focus on the industrial part of the city which turned out really great. Truckers will come across a windmill factory and a food mill in the nearby harbour.
The area around the city was adjusted too and features several landmarks such as the Magdeburg Water Bridge and the Elbe River with its accompanying bridges. We have also specifically modified the highway exit so that truckers transporting wind turbines from the windmill factory can manoeuvre their way out.
And that's a wrap for now! We will keep you updated about other ETS2 news and the Germany Rework project as well on our social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok), so make sure to follow us there.
Today, we bring our #BestCommunityEver some exciting news! For the past few months, we have been hard at work preparing another trailer pack for Euro Truck Simulator 2, and now seems like a great time to reveal that Kässbohrer trailers will be coming to our game!
Established in 1893, Kässbohrer has been developing vehicles that have pushed the boundaries of vehicle engineering. Using the world's latest technology, Kässbohrer engineers their trailers to the highest standard and it makes them more flexible in finding the right transportation solution for customers' specific needs.
In these screenshots, you can see how much progress our vehicles team has made in bringing these beautiful trailers into the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2. And our teams are still working hard to bring this trailer pack to our #BestCommunityEver as soon as possible. We will, of course, tell you the release date once we are sure these trailers are fully ready to hit the virtual roads!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our partners at Kässbohrer for providing support and data to enable us to recreate their amazing trailers virtually in ETS2!
We hope you are as excited as we are to try out this renowned European brand once it's in the game. Keep in mind, that these screenshots are still a work in progress, and the final product may change until the release. Until then, make sure to follow us on our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to catch all the latest information. We will see you on the virtual roads!
Get your documents ready; border control is here! In today's blog, we would like to show you some of the border crossings you will encounter on your way in and out of Greece, the upcoming map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2.
You will be able to get to Greece through six border crossings, but today we will show you three of those so we don't spoil it for you all at once!
Kakavia
Kakavia is a major border crossing between Greece and Albania, meticulously modeled in our game to accurately reflect its real-world counterpart. Numerous smaller details are scattered throughout the area, capturing the true essence of the location, such as the customs regulations building situated in the middle of the crossings.
Níki - Medzhitlija
Located on the E65 Route, the Níki-Medzhitlija border crossing connects Greece with North Macedonia. This crossing has also been custom-made to perfectly resemble its real-life counterpart, as you can see in the screenshots. Historically, it was the southernmost border of Yugoslavia.
Makaza - Nimphaia
Makaza-Nimphaia is a border crossing between Greece and Bulgaria. This mountain pass stands out as one of the smallest border crossings in the game measuring only over 100 metres in length. The border and its surroundings are custom-made as well.
Keep in mind that this DLC is still a work in progress, but we hope this blog provides a peek into our ongoing efforts. If you're excited about this map expansion, add the Greece DLC to your Steam Wishlist. Don't forget to stay tuned and follow us on our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok for all the latest updates!
Today, we're happy to share with you some new images and information from our on-going Germany rework project for Euro Truck Simulator 2; specifically from the city of Kassel. Much like the previously highlighted areas in this rework, this city was completely rebuilt from scratch! Let's take a closer look shall we?
Located in the North of Germany, Kassel is a city steeped in history and cultural heritage. The rework team has recreated some of the more prominent historical buildings that can be found around Kassel, including the museum, gallery and theatre. Be sure to capture a photo of them for your gallery!
We have also recreated the road network to a more realistic standard. Drivers will be able to travel along Bundesautobahn 7, through the city, with an exit on B251. Truckers will also find a new secondary route available which will offer views of the Hercules monument located in Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe.
Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to travel on the Wilhelmshöher Allee, which is one of the most important streets in Kassel, connecting the city centre from east to west. Be sure to keep an eye out of your window for some views of the river Fulda, one of two headstreams of the Weser River.
Drivers looking for job contracts in the area will find a variety of industries large and small, including logistics centres, supermarkets and a car parts factory. We also recommend checking out the location of the garage in the city, especially if you're looking to base your operations in Kassel!
We look forward to highlighting more of the Germany Rework project in the near future, and we hope you like what you've seen here! If you do, be sure to let us know in the comments or on our Social Media Channels, as our team would love to hear your thoughts. Until next time, keep on truckin'!
We're excited to announce that Scania Trucks will be joining our electric line up in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the Scania 40 S and 45 S Battery Electric Vehicle, which are now available to drive through the Quick Jobs section in-game. Ready for some new energy? Let's take a closer look at this new addition!
The Scania 40 S and 45 S featured in ETS2 are based on the Scania S‑series with a 4x2 Chassis and features a six-speed transmission combined with three electric motors with a continuous power output of 400/450 kW (540/610 hp). With a battery capacity of 624 kWh, it can achieve a distance of up to 520km in a single journey, depending on the Gross Weight of the Trailer.
The interior comes with a few specific changes for the electric variant. BEV-specific gauges are introduced alongside a refreshed interior that includes Blind Spot Indicators built into the A‑pillars, an electronic parking brake, as well as some smaller changes to the drivers dashboard.
We're also happy to share that our team have re-created a special paintjob which will be applied to the Scania S BEV. Drivers can enjoy trucking and making deliveries with the 'Take Charge' livery, which features a 'Glacier White' & Blue gradient and the texts '100% Electric' & 'Take Charge'.
We hope that you enjoy this special and unique addition to the Electric Trucks line-up in Euro Truck Simulator 2! We eagerly await our community's feedback on its quietness, acceleration, behaviour, and smoothness and hope you will enjoy experiencing a new energy in-game.
As previously talked about, transitioning to electric vehicles poses unique challenges in our virtual realm. While our team continues to work hard to support electric vehicles infrastructure, gas stations initially designed for traditional fuel vehicles, can't easily become electric charging stations without major modifications.
Currently, we're embarking on an experimental phase with our initial steps toward in-game electrification. That is why the Scania 40 S and 45 S BEV, along with a few other electric trucks planned for the future, will be introduced in a special mode and will be accessible only through the Quick Jobs section with delivery lengths limited to 350 km. In case you run out of power while on the road, we have implemented an emergency recharging service that can help you out for a fee. Our cautious approach ensures a smooth experience as we gradually integrate electric vehicles into our virtual world.
This update will not reset the in-game economy, so it may take some time for a quick job with the new electric Scania to appear in your game. Please be patient and allow some in-game time to pass if you don't see a quick job with this new truck right away.
We hope you enjoy trucking with the Scania S BEV in Euro Truck Simulator 2! Be sure to share your photos of your first journey with us and Scania Trucks on X/Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Until next time, keep on truckin'.
