The mighty DCS: F-4E Phantom II is now available with a 25% discount! Jump into the front seat and let Jester handle the Weapon System Officer (WSO) duties. Also from Heatblur Simulations, the DCS: F-14 Tomcat is also on sale with a 30% discount for you to live out your very own Top Gun moments.
If you lean towards rotary-wing aircraft, we’ve got you covered! The DCS: AH-64D delivers overwhelming firepower and some of the deepest and most accurate systems in DCS. If an eastern helicopter is more your speed, the DCS: Mi-24P Hind remains a brute-force crowd-pleaser that sports unguided rockets, a cannon and guided anti-tank missiles. Grab them now with a huge 50% discount!
The DCS: F-16C Viper and DCS: F/A-18C are two of our most popular multirole jets that offer a broad range of missions from fighter sweeps, to attacking enemy air defenses, to precision attacks. Both aircraft are exceptionally easy aircraft to fly for new DCS pilots, but they offer huge depth.
If an F/A-18C or F-14A/B pilot, then the DCS: Supercarrier is a must and currently discounted at 40% off. Supercarrier offers the most detailed and realistic aircraft carrier experience ever created for the PC.
Close-air-support aficionados shouldn’t miss the DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer. Featuring an advanced targeting pod, helmet mounted display, a massive number of weapon options, its devastating 30mm cannon, it’s also on sale with a huge 50% savings! Core engine polish
Core engine polish
Buk SAMs now trigger the RWR warning correctly, AGM-45 seeker nuances for tracking frequencies on Chinese assets corrected, and AI F-4U fixes for Bat bomb usage.. Taxi-logic has been tuned to keep mixed human/AI groups flowing smoothly at Rovaniemi on Kola, while the Quick-Action Generator now places units correctly inside of the Marianas WWII map and Anti-Ship setups over Afghanistan are now being set up correctly.
Module refinements
The MiG-29 export displays under Flaming Cliffs now obey brightness commands. Viper pilots gain missing HOTAS commands for the HARM page, the POS-mode launch bug is closed, and a rare A-A crash when cycling from HARM has been eliminated. Earlier Data Transfer Cartridges load cleanly again, and new radar strings no longer corrupt existing CMDS tables.
On the campaign front
July’s maintenance update improves everything from rotary-wing insertions to high-altitude jet duels. Fight’s On has updated every mission of the AH-64D “The Four Horsemen” campaign. The Peacekeeper Lebanon’s campaign improves the opening ferry hop for the Huey, while the Operation Cerberus North campaign no longer flags the wrong structure in its fifth Hornet strike. For Hawg drivers, the Operation Persian Freedom campaign received a blanket radio-trigger update, and the Flying Cyking’s Northern Defenders campaign fixes kneeboards and removes a rare crash in its bomber-intercept mission. Reflected Simulations’s Arctic Thunder campaign addresses Viper parking, and Badger 633 refines wingman cues in Rise of the Persian Lion II campaign. If you own these campaigns, make sure you download the latest update!
OnReTech has pushed the Sinai map far beyond its original borders. The medium-detail zone now stretches northeast to include all of Israel, southern Syria, including Damascus, and even a slice of western Libya. This opens the door to fully model several Arab-Israeli scenarios without work-arounds or empty/low-detail areas. Across the entire theatre, every mountain face, desert plateau, and coastal plain has received new colour-corrected albedo and normal maps. Dawn over the Negev and Golan Heights at dusk never looked better.

Five key airfields anchor this update: Israel’s northern Ramat David (complete with bespoke shelters), Saudi Arabia’s forward Tabuk airstrip, Lebanon’s Rafic Hariri international airport, and Syria’s twin airfields of Damascus International and Mezzeh. Each is ringed by newly created SAM fortifications and army bases. These locations are indicated as icons on the Mission Editor map.
Further, dozens of bug fixes, terrain seams, and scene-layer glitches have been resolved. You’ll feel the difference when flying low and the details cranked up. We look forward to your feedback!

	Fly it in early access

The early-access Corsair features a highly detailed and realistic cockpit and external model that are rendered entirely with PBR textures. The featured -1D version includes a Mk.8 Mod.1 fixed gunsight and even the ASM-N-2 Bat glide bomb. Flight modelling simulates the aircraft’s unique characteristics that made it a deadly opponent to Japanese forces in 1944 and quite a challenge to operate from an aircraft carrier. The Corsair's powerful engine and massive prop torque provides exceptional speed and climb that leant towards its slashing attack tactics against slower and less capable aircraft.
Along with the Corsair release, an Essex-class aircraft carrier, Japanese coastal guns and ground vehicles will be available for free as part of the Core update.
Other assets are being created such as the F6F Hellcat and many United States and Imperial Japanese air, ground, and naval units. Please see: Pacific Theatre of Operations | CH-47F Development Progress | Lunar Sale Final Hours - Official Newsletters - ED Forums. For this scenario, we are creating an extensive and accurate set of units that match the time and location. This will allow you to recreate the Battle for the Mariana Islands and the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/411940/DCS_F4U1D_Corsair/The DCS: F4U-1D Corsair is available now for only $47.99 during the early access phase. Please note that once the module is released, the price will increase to $59.99.
Development Progress

This week’s update is headlined by the free DCS: Marianas WWII map and the long-awaited DCS: F4U-1D Corsair. This update has also squashed several stability and performance bugs, improved AI behaviour, overhauled several missile flight models, and pushed a healthy list of quality-of-life fixes to the Quick Action Generator, Mission Editor, and Voice Chat.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3796360/DCS_Marianas_WWII/Marianas WWII
A free map of the Mariana islands that includes Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Pagan. Based on period maps and photos of the islands in the summer of 1944, they are characterized by hastily bulldozed runways, cane fields, volcanic ridges and villages under Imperial Japanese control.
DCS Core Texture streaming now uses less RAM and disk I/O; Mission-Editor templates and resource-manager copy functions are now working correctly; WWII ground units received proper radar returns; SAM logic prioritises targets more sensibly; Buk and Kub missiles received improved aerodynamics, while the R-27 series of air-to-air missiles now deliver more accurate velocities. The Quick Mission Generator received several improvements such as fixing era/country mismatches, restoring missing aircraft and adjusting altitude and airspeeds. Voice-chat mode selection and mid-transmission slot-switch crashes have also been fixed.
Eagle Dynamics Modules F/A-18C received more accurate AIM-7 FLOOD and AIM-9 uncage logic, and the flashlight behaviour has been fixed. Work continues on the new Terrain Avoidance radar mode and the ability to set surveillance MSI surveillance tracks as an L&S and DT2.
F-16C Viper saw AGM-65 seeker fixes, INS/GPS drift corrections, HMCS symbology tweaks, and a long list of HAD and CMDS improvements, while the new AN/ASP-33 pod moved into extended testing.
Although our hope and intention was to release this new targeting pod for the Viper by the end of Quarter 2 of 2025, it requires a bit more time in testing to ensure a quality release that will include new features such as Multi-Target Tracking (MTT), Picture-in-Picture that combines the infrared and TV cameras, Extended Range (XR) functions, and more. The planned release is for summer 2025.
CH-47F receives a major CDU/MFD feature drop including hover-mode HSD, full fuel-and-power pages, data search, progress pages, plus keyboard entry options and pedal-trim fixes.
Miscellaneous: the Su-25T instant-actions were added for the Iraq map; the F-86F jettison sound bug is silenced; and the Black Shark 3 enjoys ABRIS accuracy tweaks.
Third-Party Additions
Orbx – Kola adds six new arctic bases, colour-corrected summer textures, runway-data fixes and an optimisation sweep.
Deka – JF-17 introduces TWS-EXP radar mode and radar-page HPT fixes.
New Campaigns and ImprovementsThe F-4E Northern Defenders Campaign by Flying Cyking and the P-47D Wolfpack II Overlord Campaign by Reflected Simulations are also now available. Along with the improvements included in last week's update, more campaign improvements will follow later in June.

DCS: Kola – One Year of Development
A Year of Crafting the Battlefield

One year on, the DCS: Kola map continues to expand as a dynamic and strategically significant theatre within DCS. Developed by Orbx, a leading scenery developer, this map spans over 1.35 million square kilometers of Arctic and sub-Arctic terrain covering northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia’s Murmansk and Karelia regions.
Since release, the map has received substantial improvements; adding new airfields, infrastructure, visual improvements, and performance enhancements that have shaped it into the detailed and responsive environment it is today. Built for large-scale operations, the map blends complex infrastructure with fjords, tundra, forests, and mountainous zones layered with historical and modern-day military relevance. With more than 20 functional airfields, detailed ports, and key industrial zones already in place, Kola supports a wide variety of tactical scenarios.

End of Early Access – 22 July 2025
The Kola map will exit Early Access on 22 July 2025. This marks the formal end of the initial launch phase, but not the end of development. Orbx remains committed to ongoing improvements, with new content and technical updates already planned.
“The development of the Kola map is not ending with Early Access. We are committed to adding content and updating the map in line with the platform technical innovations. Orbx started to work on the map over three years ago and this has been a great project for us. We have learned much about DCS and will use that knowledge together with our passion for creating terrain and sceneries to enhance this map even further.”
— Anna Cicognani, CEO, Orbx
What’s Been Delivered

Why Kola Matters
The Kola region has long served as a critical military frontier — home to Russia’s Northern Fleet and dense Cold War-era infrastructure, now bordering NATO-aligned airspace. Its geographic and strategic role continues to evolve, making it a compelling setting for both historical and modern scenarios.

The release of the ASM-N-2 Bat in DCS marks a significant advancement in World War II combat simulation by introducing the first operational radar-guided glide bomb to the battlefield. This weapon enhances the strategic depth and historical authenticity of late-war scenarios, allowing players to engage enemy ships from stand-off distances with unprecedented precision for the era. Its inclusion showcases evolving aerial strike capabilities and provides a unique tactical option for pilots flying U.S. Navy aircraft, emphasizing the technological innovation that began to reshape air warfare in the closing stages of WWII.
Development and Design
The Bat’s origins trace back to 1941, when RCA proposed a television-guided anti-shipping weapon called Dragon, where an operator would steer the bomb using a live TV feed from its nose. The National Bureau of Standards (NBS), later part of the Army Research Laboratory, was tasked with designing the airframe, building on the same guidable ordnance frame used in the earlier, abandoned Project Pigeon. By 1942, the concept evolved into the Pelican, a semi-active radar-guided bomb for anti-submarine warfare. In mid-1943, the design shifted again to incorporate an active radar homing system from Western Electric, paired with a 1,000-pound (454 kg) AN-M65 general-purpose bomb, the same ordnance used in the USAAF’s Azon guided munition.
The final Bat design, officially designated SWOD (Special Weapons Ordnance Device) Mark 9, was a technological marvel for its time:
The Bat featured a plywood frame, constructed by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Organ Co., known for its expertise in bending plywood for organs and jukeboxes. Its 12-foot-long, 10-foot-wide structure was gyrostabilized with a Bendix Aviation autopilot, using elevons (combined ailerons and elevators) for steering. Small wind-driven generators powered the controllable tail elevator, linked to an S-band radar homing device in the nose.
The Bat carried a 1,000-pound general-purpose bomb, optimized for anti-shipping strikes but adaptable for land targets like bridges.

June 1944. Dawn slides across the Pacific and glints off the blue-black wings of the brand-new F4U-1D Corsair as she taxis onto the deck of USS Essex. Below, a seething amphibious armada is already closing in on Saipan’s coral beaches. Flight-lead Lieutenant “Duke” Klein pulls his canopy shut, opens the cowl flaps, and spools the mighty R-2800 to life. The gull-winged fighter shudders like a thoroughbred straining against the blocks. One last magneto check, a green flag from the deck officer, and the Bent-Wing Bird is hurled into the humid morning sky.
That take-off sequence is exactly what you’ll feel in DCS with the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair by Magnitude 3 LLC. The module is confidently approaching finals with our recent tests showing promising results for an early access launch. Stay tuned!

A-10C II Operation Agile Spear receives a full campaign diet: compressed voice-overs, lighter briefing art, and wholesale replacement of legacy AI flights cut mission load-times dramatically. Three sorties: 03, 05, 08 are brand-new builds with revised strike packages, smarter enemies, and reworked scoring, while every mission gains fresh chatter and cleaner radio logic. Watch out for the surprise on Mission 15’s short final.
UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon fixes its opening ferry flight by restoring the correct Almirante Lynch NDB, ensuring a smooth coastal hop.
F/A-18C Inherent Resolve patches Mission 1’s stuck debrief, adds a TGP and extra ordnance, and fine-tunes Delta Flight re-joins; Mission 3 is now a hot-start armed-recce with optional Hard/Immortal modes, refreshed target sets and working audio cues.
In the most recent update, you can also find that Reflected Simulations’ Tomcat and Phantom sagas have received quality-of-life passes. Fear the Bones and Speed & Angels now compute carrier wind-over-deck precisely, adopt Tomcatter 87’s new S-3 skins, and boost radio-signal strength. Both MiG Killers and Red Flag 81-2 integrate the latest Jester logic for snappier calls and smarter bars.

Over the past quarter, we finalized the core terrain mesh, completed eleven wartime airfields based on survey data, and replaced modern infrastructure with heritage structures, including barracks, cane presses, and Shinto shrines. Vegetation density was recalibrated to 1940s agricultural patterns, and new shader compiling has shaved nearly 20% off GPU load in over-island dogfights. The free Marianas 1944 map is now feature-complete and internal testing is nearing completion.
Currently, our artists are fine-tuning areas such as Ushi Point on Tinian and the Orote Peninsula based on 1944 field recordings, images, and footage. We are also working on mission content.
Looking ahead, our next milestone is to lock the build and provide a release candidate to our internal and Closed Beta testers. We will then conduct large-scale multiplayer stress tests and deliver the map into Early Access. Stay tuned!
