DCS: Spitfire LF Mk.IX and DCS: Normandy 1944 Map Updates DCS World War II has two great updates this week! The first is the addition of several new features to the Spitfire. These include a new clipped wing version, slipper and torpedo fuel tanks, the ability to carry bombs, and continued to refinements to the flight dynamics. Together, these new features give the Spitfire longer legs and a more diverse mission capability. With these additions, we are pleased to announce that the Spitfire is now feature complete and out of early access.
The second big DCS World War II element is a substantial update to the Normandy 1944 map. The biggest improvements being updated and more accurate airfields, new concrete runways for appropriate airfields, shallow water effects, new objects like windmills and scattered farm houses, smoother beach transitions, regional specific bridges, and improved performance.
Another three elements currently in development, that will also improve the DCS World II experience is the new damage model, an improved sighting system, and improved dogfight AI!
DCS World 2.5 Update This week we released many new features and fixes for DCS World and several modules. You can read the complete change log in the dedicated thread on the forum.
Some of the highlights of this weekโs update include:
DCS World Unique radio frequencies and TACAN channels that can be assigned to each ship in a group now. Units now appear as 2D objects in the Mission Editor, rather than an icon. This allows much more precise unit and object placement. AI taxi logic around the carrier has been improved to avoid collisions.
DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Added carrier cold start instant action missions. Corrected launch bar to shuttle shenanigans. Canister munitions now have variable timed fuzes with height function for much greater accuracy. Option for single and ripple rocket launches. Waypoints numbers can now be edited in the Waypoint / DATA page. DDIs can now be exported. Rejoice home cockpit builders! Corrected selection of AG munitions after launching an AIM-7. Corrected carrier TCN time to go indicator and added back TCN callsigns. Abeam distance to course line added to HSI. Very handy for getting that 1.1 to 1.3 abeam pattern distance! Radar no longer easily loses lock. Corrected jettison issues. New VFA-122 skin.

The L-39 Albatros: Kursant Campaign is a single-player campaign for the L-39C/ZA aircraft. You will learning basic and advanced points:
- Low altitude navigation training - Learning aerial reconnaissance using real-life tactics - Detailed instruction on bomb, rocket, and gun weapon delivery against ground targets, following realistic ingress maneuvers - Interception of aerial targets with R-60 air-to-air missiles.
All flights are performed under the supervision of a virtual-instructor. After each flight, he will decide whether or not you progress to the next mission based on your performance. At the conclusion to the training missions, an evaluation flight will be performed to determine how well you have learned the skills of L-39 navigation and combat employment.
Note that this campaign requires DCS: L-39 Albatros, and this product cannot be transferred outside your DCS World Steam Edition installation.
Main features of this campaign:
- 11 highly-detailed and realistic missions that are based on actual L-39 training requirements. - Missions start and end on the parking ramp, which creates an immersive atmosphere of being a "kursant" (cadet) at the flight school. - Detailed briefings, flight plans, and virtual instructor pilot help you successfully complete this training course.
We always strive to improve DCS World and to make it feel more alive. We currently have auto-generated road and rail traffic, as well as ship traffic. We are also working to implement civilian foot traffic as well as civil air traffic. One new element that is nearing release is domestic livestock. In the next update for our Hornet, we are making some changes to rockets and cluster bombs:
1- Rockets pods can now be set to Single (S) release setting in the Mission Editor, via the additional properties tab in the loadout window. Note that on the SMS page, S denotes single release and R denotes ripple release. This is different than the SMS page Single (one pod fires at a time) and Salvo (all pods fire at the same time) settings.
2- CBU-99 and Mk-20 cluster bombs can now have their MFUZ set to VT. Once set to VT, the HT (height) setting allows variable canister burst altitude. CBU-99 and Mk-20 are basically the same weapon, just different dispensers (same number of MK118 MOD 0 bomblets). CBU-99 uses the SUU-75/B dispenser and the Mk-20 uses the SUU-76B/B dispenser.

DCS: Black Shark 2 โ 2018 Trailer In 2011 we released DCS: Black Shark 2, which is still the most authentic simulation of the Russian Ka-50 attack helicopter. Seven years later, the Ka-50 is still one of the most fun and exciting aircraft to fly in DCS World. With the graphical and updated world (like the new tree system and grass) that DCS World 2.5 brings, the Ka-50 is better than ever.

F/A-18C Pilot Explains How to Land on a Carrier in DCS World
Former F/A-18C Hornet pilot Lex Talionis talks about his experience flying and landing a Hornet in DCS World, and he shares his thoughts on PC flight simulations, virtual reality, and being a real Hornet pilot.

The first version of the video memory manager is presented, which will purge the video memory when the video memory budget allocated by Windows is reached. The resources that were not used in the last 10 seconds are first to be purged.
New OFFLINE mode is now implemented. User can turn on OFFLINE mode that allows the game to be used without internet identification and without a time limit. Note: user must turn off OFFLINE mode on the same PC. OFFLINE mode cannot be turned off from another PC even with the same user's login.

We are adding two, new airbases to the Persian Gulf Map โ Shiraz International Airport (330 nm to Al Dhafra) and Kerman International Airport (380 nm to Al Dhafra). Both airfields have military ramps and facilities.
With the addition of these two airfields, it makes the Persian Gulf map about the same size as the Caucasus map (measured as distance between airfields). Both new bases provide many parking locations to support large missions (large and small aircraft). We think having these two large bases far inland will provide many more mission possibilities for both single- and multi-player.
Today, we have a few work-in-progress images around Kerman International Airport.
Once these are complete, we plan to add additional airfields and landmarks across the map.
These bases will serve as ideal home to many DCS World aircraft like the F-5E, Flaming Cliffs 3 Su-25 and MiG-29, Mi-8MTV2, and UH-1H. Get these and many other modules at 50% off until 5 July 2018 at:
