With the launch for DCS World 2.5, there has never been a better time to fly a new aircraft, operate over a new map, or experience a new campaign.
DCS World Open Beta Update 5 This week we released another update to the Open Beta, with the primary focus being the Hornet and DCS World 2.5 foundation improvements. Once we are confident in the stability of the Hornet and the DCS World Open Beta, we will move both of these, and the Persian Gulf Map, to the release version of DCS World and DCS World Steam Edition.

DCS: M-2000C: Red Flag Campaign by Baltic Dragon
The M-2000C Red Flag Campaign is a story-driven campaign that takes place during an extraordinary Red Flag exercise at the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). The campaign backstory revolves around growing hostilities between Iran and its neighbors and a partially successful coup that takes place in the United Arab Emirates, effectively splitting the country in two.
You will take on the role of a deputy commander of a 10-ship strong detachment of M-2000C interceptors from the 02.005 Fighter Squadron "Île-de-France". In preparation for war in the Persian Gulf, your detachment, and those from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and the Netherlands, will spend two weeks at the NTTR to hone your skills. All of the missions are based on extensive research of actual Red Flag exercises and will each include interesting facts and stories from previous runnings of the exercise.
Features:
16 story-driven missions
Over 3,000 voiceovers performed by more than 40 voice actors
Returning characters from the M-2000C Caucasus campaign
Highly detailed mission briefings, maps, and other documents that includes Air Tasking Orders and Data Sheets based on actual counterparts use by the US and French Air Forces
Many of interesting background facts and stories from past Red Flag exercises
Preparation for upcoming DCS campaigns in the Persian Gulf
This campaign requires ownership of DCS: M-2000C, along with the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map.
DCS World and Captoglove This past week we were delighted to help show off Captoglove at the E3 2018 show. Captoglove offers what we believe will be the next step in cockpit interaction by allowing the player to interact with the cockpit with their actual hands!
In addition to the nice update this week, the team is working furiously on many other items to get the Hornet foundation solid by the end of the month. Here are some items already resolved internally that will be pushed soon to an update:
Unable to select AG weapons after first selecting AIM-7.
Canister munitions (MK-20 and CBU-99) are now much more accurate. Note that you’ll need to set the MFUZ to VT. You can then set a Height Of Burst (HOB) using the HT function on the SMS page.
Overwing vaps have been added, but need to be tuned!
Time to lock for the ACM modes is much faster now.
You can now disconnect from the shuttle.
Adjusted flaps control bindings for TM HOTAS as a special item.
Support for export of DDIs.
Course offset distance is now displayed above the CRS value on the HSI.
New VFA-122 skin.
RWR threat ring logic changed, critical threat inside ring.
AC buses now isolated when when engine started without parking brake set.
LOTS of other work going on with the radar, EW system, and other items. Thanks
Here’s a small segment from a single mission I’m creating for the Hornet. It’s an interdiction strike in the Caucasus map. Should be coming soon.
A set of single missions for both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf Map are in-progress. Once these done, a free Hornet campaign for the Caucasus map is planned.
DCS World Update This week we released an DCS 2.5.2 Update 4 the focuses on the Hornet and DCS World foundation improvements. It is our primary focus create a solid foundation for the Hornet, from which we will only then start add new sensors and weapons.

Corrected canopy actuator heating
There are of course several other very high-priority items that we are working on and will be coming in the near-future:
Probably for the next update will be an initial implementation of IFF for the Hornet. Attached are a couple of looks.
A diamond-shaped TD box indicated a negative IFF response (hostile), whereas a standard, square TD box indicates a valid IFF handshake (friendly). Initially, this will be done automatically as part of an STT/LTWS/DTWS (L&S and D2) designation.
At a later point we will investigate a more in-depth IFF system using the encrypted-code system. However, this is a VERY complex system that will take a lot of time, and we currently have much higher priorities. Furthermore, a code-based IFF system will also involve a significant re-write of portions of the AI code.
Also, in the next update we changed the manual (M) radio modulation selection logic to be more realistic based on recent information. The modulation selection will now be in a single Option Select Window and toggle between AM and FM (rather than separate OSW windows). The inability of an entered frequency not be saved (reverts back to default) has also been resolved.
AI F/A-18C. Incorrect surfaces position with cold start of AI aircraft corrected.
AI F/A-18C. Default control surfaces after landing corrected.
AI F/A-18C. Aircraft will spawn without hot running engine when selected cold start option on the deck parking.
ME. Ground/water units numeration corrected.
ME F/A-18C payload panel. Added option for removing pylons in the payloads menu.

Sound distortion when passing through Mach 1 corrected.
Radar altitude hold mode autopilot will not be goes to high negative Gs.
The spawned aircraft will not be stucking in the carrier deck.
EMERJ JETT button will require push and hold for the emergency jettison sequence routine. There is no instantaneous jettison.
Fixed the behavior of the aircraft when flaps extended from the AUTO to HALF/FULL positions.
