Team Fortress 2 - SZ
Quick: Name someone whose body of work is a testament to the indomitability of the human spirit; whose strength and moral guidance informs your every decision; and who starred in one of the Police Academy movies.

Okay, and who isn't Steve Gutenberg.

Or the guy who fooled crooks into thinking he was a police car by making police car noises. Okay, now go!

Did you guess Hightower? Oh thank God, because that's what we called our new Payload map, and it is way too late to change it to Sweetchuck. Even though, now that we think about it, that's a much better name that you should seriously consider just calling it anyhow. Way to name maps, Brandon.

Also: wrenches! Hey, everybody remember those? Because Day Three of the Engineer Update has a whole new batch of them—plus a community-made surprise.

Team Fortress 2 Engineer Update Adds 'Hightower,' Police Academy References EnsueFaithful followers of Team Fortress 2's week-long update focused on the Engineer will have a few new items to mull over today, including the new map "Hightower" and a painful looking new wrench.

Today's lower key dose of the Engineer Update for TF2 is largely focused on a new Payload-style map for Valve's class-based first person shooter. But buried within is a new community made item, an engineer's wrench that packs a nasty punch. See how mystery man Radigan wields it and a massive mug of ale at once in this well-hidden page.

The Engineer class will receive a new shotgun and a fancy remote control gizmo when the game update hits later this week.

For numerous references to Police Academy characters played by Bubba Smith, check the official Team Fortress 2 blog.

Update: Reader Eric points us to another hidden Engineer page with photos that imply the class will be able to pack up and move the turret he builds. Hmm...

It's Like Where's Waldo, Only With Team Fortress 2A few weeks back, the biggest "Furry" convention in the world went down in Pittsburgh. Here's a group shot of some attendees, which we show you not because we've gone furry, but because there's a spy in their midst.

Take a look. Think of it as a Team Fortress-themed game of Where's Waldo, his dorky specs and hat replaced with a knife and dodgy French accent.

I'd give you a hint as to where he is, but that would make it too easy. And if I had to scour hundreds of furries to find the damn guy (and then go scrub my eyes clean), you have to look too.

[thanks A!]

Everyone loves remote control toys. But the problem with most of them is, unless you manage to remote control one directly down someone's throat, they're pretty useless as weapons. But what if we were to tell you that we fixed that obvious design flaw?

Day Two of the Engineer Update brings the engineering faithful The Wrangler, the remote sentry gun controller; "Upward", an all-new, Valve-designed Payload Map; and 25 shiny, super-rare wrenches from our quickly-dwindling supply.

Note: To ensure everyone gets the chance to pull the lever, we've increased the weekly item drop limit for this week only. So if you thought you'd hit your item cap, think again!

Team Fortress 2's Engineer Gets 'The Wrangler,' Total Sentry ControlThe Team Fortress 2 Engineer Update continues, building up to its end-of-week release, with the Wrangler. If you've ever wanted manual control for your sentries and a shield to protect 'em, this is the item for you.

The Engineer will swap his trusty pistol for the Wrangler, should he choose to equip it, which will hand over a sentry's automatic aiming to the player. While that may sound like a raw deal—sitting back and letting the sentry do your work for you is the whole point, right?—the Wrangler has a few pluses. When using the Wrangler, your sentry will get a fancy, damage-absorbing shield and a faster firing missile launcher.

Perhaps the biggest benefit to the Wrangler might be giving the Engie something to do. You know, instead of frantically whacking those dispensers with a wrench over and over and over and over...

The Wrangler joins the shotgun replacement known as Frontier Justice as part of the Engineer's arsenal.

Head over to the official site for your first look at "Upward", an "all-new, Valve-designed Payload map."
