Ok - I can't say a lot about what's coming up next. We have some pretty significant QOL stuff coming. We also have our regular Hallowed Nights event and we'll be doing another costume submission event as well.

Oh, and our next character refresh is Wolfgang coming up in December. So there's that. Which is nice. I am sure nobody is going to have an opinion on that so It's probably barely worth mentioning.

I don't have a teaser image today, because of reasons I can't say right now. But we're neck-deep in work to prepare for our busiest time of the year, so we've got a lot coming up for you over the next couple of months.

Hey everyone, Halloween is approaching fast, and to celebrate the season we wanted to propose a mod challenge to the community. That's right, a Hallowed Nights Mod Challenge!

Alone or with a group of friends, work on a mod that follows the theme of Halloween or Hallowed Nights, then submit the mod on the submit-here channel in the Klei Entertainment Discord server. During the submission phase, users will be able to submit mods that add content to the game with themes commonly associated with Halloween, such as trick or treats, horror monsters and the like!

We will stop accepting submissions October 21st. After that, there will be a one week voting phase where the members of the community will be able to vote for their favorite mod. Be sure to read the guidelines below to see how you can participate! Both of these phases will happen exclusively here, on the Klei Entertainment Discord server.

The users that worked on mods that have been submitted and accepted will receive 2000 in-game spools, and the top 5 community favorite mods will receive the complete Hallowed bundle. To receive these rewards, you will need to link your Discord account to your Klei Account over at accounts.klei.com - this feature is not yet ready, and a tutorial on how to do this will be made available as soon as it's working.

- RULES TO QUALIFY -
Failure to follow the rules will disqualify the submission.

1. Your mod must follow our Modding Guidelines (https://support.klei.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029556052-Modding-Guidelines), Steam's User Generated Content (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4045-USHJ-3810) and Steam Online Conduct guidelines (https://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct).
2. Your mod must be for Don't Starve Together and related to Halloween or the Hallowed Nights event in Don't Starve Together.
3. You may work on your mod alone or together with a group of people (maximum of 5 members).
◦ You may work on multiple mods, but will only receive one reward.
4. No tricks for treats! You must “try” to make an interesting mod. Try to put some thought into it!
◦ Mods that have already been published and mods that copy other mods that already exist in the Steam Workshop will not be accepted.
5. All mod content must be PG and follow our community guidelines (https://forums.kleientertainment.com/guidelines).
6. As with any community submission, event rules are subject to change.

We will be accepting submissions between October 1st and October 21st (Pacific Time). The voting phase will happen between October 22nd and October 29th.

Rewards will be granted upon verification of submitted mods at the end of the event. Have fun!

Left adrift at sea in the sweltering heat, our Survivors thought they were surely done for. And perhaps they would have been if luck hadn’t landed them beneath the protective boughs of an enormous tree. A tree that, remarkably, seemed to spring from the ocean itself. Believing themselves to be saved, the Survivors began collecting the bounty of fruit and materials the great tree had to offer, not realizing that they were not the only ones to have found safe harbor beneath the canopy...

Boat Changes:

• All boats will now eventually come to a stop, regardless of whether it has an anchor or not.
  
• Doubled the top speed of boats.
  
• Greatly improved the performance on worlds with lots of boats(depending on the number of boats, as much as a 50% improvement in total performance).
  
• Boats will now properly collide with all objects while offscreen.
  
• When logging back in, players will now respawn on the boat they logged off on, regardless of whether it has moved since they logged off.

Good question. The Team has been hard at work on the next few updates. It's almost time to introduce you to Wanda, the new character DLC that will come to the game in the first half of September. We also have a new special thing we have never done before that we're pretty excited about for October that is super secret. Ok, so I just realized I can't really talk about anything we have coming up next, but things are about to get interesting.



We also have some exciting new stuff planned for Klei Rewards, so save up those points!
