Jiu Feng is back with his fourth and final Smuggler Pack with plenty of iron to deal with what is gonna go down soon. You need to gear up and be ready for a new level of heisting. While a heister's best friend might be a hot gun, there are other ways to stay warm in the dreary February weather. With custom community suits, you will never freeze in the cold bitter wind again.

This weapon pack is all about secondary weapons, the loyal companions, the friends in need, the aces up your sleeves. First up in the pack is the Argos III Shotgun, a futuristic shotgun that packs a mean punch. With its custom compensator, stock, and side-mounted ammo cache this beast will dominate the battlefield. The second piece of hardware on the table is the Wasp-DS SMG. You can bring one of these bad boys as the backup gun or as your main dealer of carnage as it sings of lead and violence into the evening of San Francisco. The extra grip, special magazine, and new stock will make this SMG a joy to bring on any heist. And lastly, something completely different, a pistol unlike any other. The Gecko M2 Pistol is a one-handed power-house built for stealth but holds its own in a firefight. This pistol does not only feature a built-in suppressor but also cartridges powerful enough to push a full-grown man off his feet upon impact. For the ambidextrous heisters, two of these pistols will certainly make plenty of helmets fly.

Jiu Feng cannot pass up an opportunity to showcase his keen sense of style with some cosmetic options for your choice of firearm. He draws our interest to four new weapon colors. Do you want to go with the “Art Deco Waffle” for that cool art deco feel or the more modern style of the “Dry Cut”? Perhaps you go for the funkier “Blue Stroke” weapon color or the funkiest of funk that is the “Vaporwave”.

Also included in this update are two Exclusive Weapon sets. The “Triple Tech Threat” for the Argos III Shotgun gives a cool sci-fi look to the weapon and adds a triple laser array to the front that gives a very unique targeting image and lets you know without a shadow of a doubt where those pellets will fly. The “Whisper 9 Silencer” for the Wasp-DS will also give the weapon a high-tech overhaul. With a built-in suppressor and laser, the exclusive set already gives a decent kit for your gun but with the addition of an ammo counter display, this set really takes the weapon up a notch.

Exclusive Weapon sets were first introduced in the last update as a mod kit that gives the weapon a cool new look that can’t be achieved with regular mods. They also boost the stats of the weapon as some mod slots may be unavailable while the set is applied. However, the set would not offer better stats than regular mods. They may on the other hand offer other bonuses and fun add-ons to the weapon, like extra lasers or ammo counters. An Exclusive Weapon Set gives you a preset of mods and a cool-looking weapon with a single click. You can have a badass alternate form of the weapon, fully modded and ready for action. Great for new players that want to jump straight into the game or veteran players that want a fun new way to play the game.

But we are not done with weapons yet, in this update, there are also two free weapon mods that anyone can use. First up we have “Medved R4 Suppressor” a big suppressor that can be used with any pistol or SMG. In addition to lowering the noise of the gun, they also boost stability and accuracy. Secondly “Medved R4 Laser Sight” is a nice sleek laser sight for your favorite pistol.

During our 10th anniversary last year, we held a contest for you, the community, to design and suggest your own outfits. There were so many good suggestions that we found it impossible to narrow down our top picks below three. So we made all three of them. They are now available in the game. Congratulations to our three winners XXXX who designed the “The Linchpin” outfit, @SilversTweet who designed the “Pink Hopper” outfit, and @OneMonovan who designed the “Overgold” outfit. These three very different and unique outfits are amazing and great additions to any heister wardrobe.

• Updated the “Big Mike” mask so that it will now be returnable.
  • Anyone who may have sold the mask from their inventory will also receive a new one.
• The Shell Rack weapon mod for the Reinfeld 880 Shotgun and Locomotive 12G Shotgun will now increase the total ammo by 6 shells instead of the magazine size.
• Fixed a crash related to having a charm on a secondary OVE9000 Saw with HQ weapons disabled.
  
• Fixed a potential crash for clients related to the host closing their games while in a heist.
  
• Added weapon description to the Valkyria Rifle explaining that the weapon is silenced by default.
  
• Fixed an issue where higher tier weapons located in slot 1 of the inventory would not be deactivated on non-active profiles when going infamous.

Updates may be incompatible with the mods you may have installed. Even seemingly unrelated mods may cause unexpected issues. If you are experiencing any issues with the game; try removing any mods you may have installed and try again.

If you are having issues with an unmodded game you can try to verify the integrity of the game files. In the steam library; right click on PAYDAY 2. Select "Properties" from the menu. Under the tab "LOCAL FILES" select "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES...".
The process may take some time to finish.

Today we have a small update with a few tweaks and we want to talk a bit about the changes to the leech perk deck which was released just prior to the winter holiday.

It has now been out for a while and we have a few tweaks to adjust the power level and bring it more in line with other perk decks. Our first adjustment is that if you take more than 200 points of damage from a single source you will lose 2 segments instead of just one. The perk deck will therefore not be as overpowered on Death sentence. The second adjustment puts a limit on the amount of health a teammate can heal from other leech players. The limit is 20% of their maximum health per second.

• Multiple leech players will not increase the healing given to other teammates.

We are working hard on the new updates and lots of fun stuff that is just around the corner. However, you can’t get enough PAYDAY, am I right?

So, we cooked up a little update for you. It has a little bit of this and that, something for everyone. Let's start at the beginning and have a look at the cool new content. Firstly, we want to help celebrate the new year with our friends in the East, with an awesome new weapon charm. In the update, you will also find a sneak peek at something fun coming to your arsenal, and some long-requested quality of life features.

The panthera tigris tigris is the second smallest tiger weighing in at between 100kg and 195kg (221 lb and 430 lb). This small stature makes them fast and nimble. Hunting with patience, timing, and speed, they usually hide in the thick vegetation, waiting for an opportunity to attack. This mighty beast, a symbol of power and prowess, brings with it the new year. Now you can bring its might and protection with you, as you walk into the nearest bank. Like human fingerprints, a tiger’s stripes are unique to each individual. If you find yourself wandering alone far from civilization in southern China, you might find the very tiger we based this epic weapon charm on. If you do, please ask him to return the three artists we lost while making this update, we do hope they are ok.

King of Beasts Weapon Charm

“What is an Exclusive Set?”, you might ask. It’s a brand new way to modify your weapon. A preset of mods to ensure a great-firing and cool-looking weapon without needing to unlock lots of different mods or spend the time experimenting. An Exclusive Set will perform equally well to what you can achieve by picking out the mods yourself. Unlike doing that, however, an Exclusive Set gives you a quick one-click setup for a gun that will perform well and look good while doing so.

Longbore Exclusive Weapon Set

Today we bring a long-requested feature and a popular mod to our great modding community. The down counter will indicate how many times you and your fellow (human) heisters can be shot down before going into custody. Each player starts with a small 3 next to their name, indicating they have all their downs left. Each time they get shot down by the cops this number will go down as well. If it goes to 0 you will not enter bleed-out next time you are shot down but go straight into custody. You better find a doctor bag and replenish those downs.

Our second quality of life feature is the motion dot. There are a lot of players out there who may want to play FPS games but can’t or need to heavily limit their time due to motion sickness, sometimes called simulator sickness. Motion sickness is caused when there is a disconnect between the input from your eyes and what your body feels. Essentially your eyes are telling your brain that you are moving and your body says that you are stationary. To help with this problem you can play the game in a brighter room and/or sit further away from the screen. Now you also have the option to turn on a single static point at the middle of the screen. It has been shown that a static element in the foreground helps prevent motion sickness. You can choose a few different sizes and colors to best suit your needs.



And last but not least, we are happy to partner up with SteelSeries to bring their awesome mascot, Lars the Troll, into the game. All you need to do to unlock this mask is head over to the SteelSeries website and log in with your SteelSeries account. You can then claim a code to redeem on Steam to unlock the mask.

Now we are gearing up for another year of heisting. But first, we need to clean up after the recent festivities.

The heists Breakin' Feds, Hoxton Breakout, and Buluc’s Mansion have now returned to normal. Bulldozers and Cloakers have (for the most part) hung up their Santa hats in wait for next year.

As the weather starts to slowly turn warmer to more slush, the fine white now to make snowballs is sadly no longer available. As Jimmy threw out the stash that I saved in the fridge to make room for more booze, we will have to wait until next winter for another snowball fight.

Of course, the Leech Perk Deck is will remain available as will "Bulbous Bauble" and the "Lightbringer" weapon charms with their associated achievements. The Winter Ghosts Tailor Pack and all its content will remain available.

Finally,"Today Is PAYDAY Too", the awesome song made by Gustavo Coutinho and vocalized by Pete Gold, will no longer play in the main menu, but it will remain available under sound options as a custom menu track.

To keep this update as small as possible there are no additional fixes or content included but rest assured there are lots of new content coming this year.

As mentioned in the previous hotfix we continued to work on a better fix for the perk deck exploit and are happy to now be releasing a better solution to the issue.

To remove the exploit where you could revive yourself indefinitely with the leech perk deck we added an additional "downed cooldown". However, there could in rare cases cause the player to be forced to wait for double the intended cooldown time. This has now been addressed properly. You can no longer revive yourself an infinite amount of times. The downed cooldown does not stay once you manage to revive another player or replenish your health. The real cooldown of the leech perk deck will also be reduced based on the time passed on the downed cooldown.

• Fixed a crash related to weapon verification in relation to damage dealt.
  
• The cooldown on the leech perk deck from being downed will be removed when you revive another player or replenish your health
  
• When you revive another player or replenish your health the cooldown of the leech perk deck is reduced by the time past on the downed cooldown

We hope you'll have a happy holiday and a nice winter vacation. We bring some small fixes to yesterday's release. We are fixing some issues with the new achievements that did not trigger as intended.

We are also making a temporary fix to an exploit found with the new perk deck. You should no longer be able to keep reviving yourself indefinitely. We are still working on further tweaks to be released at a later date.
