On the tenth day of Crimefest, we introduce the king of the jungle.

Heisters, whenever we talk about new content, you always tell us you want more heists. Our level team at OVERKILL work as fast as they can, but they can only produce so many.

So what does OVERKILL do? We bring in reinforcements.

Today we announce a PAYDAY co-development with the independent Lion Game Lion crew. Formed by industry veterans, lead by Nikica Petrusic, a former OVERKILL crew member, they are a studio based in Zagreb, Croatia, and are currently working on their first heist connected to a new contact in Crime.net, codenamned as "The Butcher". Together we will further expand PAYDAY 2 with an all-new DLC titled “The Bomb” to be released early 2015. The Butcher will send you heisters on a bomb-stealing raid loaded with new guns and gear.




For those of you with the Spotter skill, you can see Ilija, the Lead Level Designer of OVERKILL, in the picture as well. OVERKILL crew members will visit the Lions from time to time and vice versa.

“As a publisher in the new digital economy, you have to listen real well. When an independent developer like this tells you: "Hey, we know this is your baby and all, but we have this great idea for an expansion, you better pay attention." We listened and realized Lion Game Lion pitched a true PAYDAY idea for a great heist. The collaboration has gone very smoothly and I truly feel our players will enjoy this OVERKILL and Lion Game Lion mash-up.” - OVERKILL_Bo

We support the PAYDAY modding community and want to make things easier for you. Not long ago we invited Tatsuto from Last Bullet Gaming and Olipro, the developer of Hoxhud, to sit down and talk about how we can help you guys.

As a first step, we are introducing a way for you to handle your mods.

1. Create a root folder for your mod inside [payday2 root]\assets\mod_overrides

2. Place the override files inside your mod's folder.

Example of a texture and a soundbank being overridden:
[payday2 root]\assets\mod_overrides\george_supermod_v1.01\units\payday2\characters\shared_textures\civ_female_1_df.texture
[payday2 root]\assets\mod_overrides\george_supermod_v1.01\soundbanks\accomplice_driver_2.bnk

You can override the following file types:
