Early October - Midnight Carnival
Night Troupe at Rien awaits! Take a look around and select an attraction that best suits your needs. You’ll receive generous perks that include stat bonuses, EXP buffs, and more. If spending your time at Rien isn’t giving you the chills, join the spooky Halloween Candy adventures and decorate your Home with Halloween furnishings for an eerie touch. There are plenty of events and rewards to keep everyone entertained!

November - Cygnus Knights Redux
Our loyal Cygnus Knights will undergo a revamp this winter! Here’s a list of the Cygnus Knights that will have their skills revamped:

There will be more changes on the way in addition to the skill revamps but we’ll share detailed information when it gets closer to the update release date.

November - Hyper Burning
You’ve never seen burning this hot ever before… Hyper Burning will allow players to earn an additional 2 levels for each level up until the character reaches not Lv. 215, not Lv. 230, but all the way up to Lv. 250! Break the limit with Hyper Burning!

November/December - Fireworks Festival Parade
We’re holding a Fireworks Festival Parade in celebration of our winter update and you are invited! Come participate in exciting events and complete daily, weekly, and monthly missions to earn event coins and special rewards. The event shops have plenty of functional and cosmetic items in stock for you to grab. Enjoy the festival with Maplers and make memories that are simply unforgettable.

December (January Release) - Odium
Beyond Karote, The Unending Tower, lies Odium, a building full of untouched mysteries behind its locked doors. No one knows who built it or with what purpose, and it’s a mystery as to what is happening within... Uncover the secrets as you make your way into Odium!

Those are the high-level contents and events arriving to GMS between early October - December 2022 that we wanted to share with you today. We hope these roadmaps have been providing information that players may be curious about and that it assists with advanced preparation. Please do keep in mind that there is more content on the way in addition to those listed above, so we advise players to refer to the Update Preview post and Patch Notes post for the finalized details for every game update. If plans change due to unforeseen circumstances, we will have a mid-update post to inform players of the changes to the proposed timeline.We hope you enjoy our winter updates as well as the holidays until we return with the next roadmap!

  • Fixed the issue where the Villain's Mask (Hat) graphic is positioned incorrectly when climbing ropes/ladders.
  • Fixed the issue where the NPC Another Informant for the Cygnus (Normal) boss battle gives the same dialogue twice.
  • Fixed the issue where the Dual Blade skill, Katara Mastery, has untranslated text.
  • Fixed the issue where item hotkeys were being reset after logging out or changing channels.
  • Fixed the issue where the Bone Weapon's description is inconsistent with the functionality.
  • Fixed the issue where the item 'Arcana Party Balloon - Tree Spirit' was incorrectly called 'Arcana Party Balloon - Rock Spirit'.
  • Fixed the issue where the description of the skill 'Hyper Body' incorrectly states the prerequisite skill as 'Iron Will' instead of 'Iron Body'.
  • Fixed the issue where the 'Cat-in-a-Box Chair' image extends outside of the item description frame.
  • Maple Reward Points for players that participated in the Burning World Big Spender Event will be distributed.
    • The reward points will be distributed through the Gift Drop. Once used, entering the Cash Shop will update the balance. Please claim the item from the Gift Drop by October 20, 2022, at 23:59 UTC.

• Accept the ‘[Special Private Course] Toben Hair Hero's Special Private Course’ quest within the star event notifier.
• Upon accepting the quest, you will receive the ‘Special Private Course’ skill.
• There are three different types of missions:
  
  • [Special Private Course] Battle Training: Available September 14 at 12:00 AM UTC.
    
    • Defeat 2,000 monsters near your level (20 levels below and 20 levels above) to receive 10 Memories of Battle and a reward.
    • Battle Training can be completed once a day and is reset every day at 12:00 AM UTC.
  • [Special Private Course] Practical Application: Available September 22 at 12:00 AM UTC.
    
    • You will be given the following 5 missions at once:
      
      • Defeat Vellum (Chaos): 10 Memories of Battle
      • Defeat Lotus (Normal, Hard): 15 Memories of Battle
      • Defeat Will (Normal, Hard): 20 Memories of Battle
      • Defeat Damien (Hard): 25 Memories of Battle
      • Defeat Verus Hilla: 30 Memories of Battle
    • Practical Application missions can be completed when defeating a boss in a party.
    • However, the mission will not complete if you were dead when the boss has been defeated.
    • During the week of September 22, bosses that were defeated prior to accepting the mission will still count.
  • [Special Private Course] Review: Available after completing [Special Private Course] Battle Training 14 times.
    
    • Defeat 2,000 monsters near your level (20 levels below and 20 levels above) to receive 2x EXP Coupon (15 min) (x2).
• You can use Memories of Battle you’ve earned to enhance the Special Private Course skill stats of your choice, up to Lv. 5.
• Each level requires the following amount of Memories of Battle to level up:

  • Lv. 3: 15 Memories of Battle

• Once the Memories of Battle are used, they cannot be reset.
• The enhanced stats will be applied as a passive buff to one character that you’ve selected to receive the teaching.
  
  • The character that receives the Special Private Course skill can be changed once a day during the event duration.
  • To change the character that receives the skill, you can log in with the character you wish to receive the skill with and click the ‘Begin Lesson’ on the event UI.
• Special Private Course skill and its passive buffs will last until October 18 at 11:59 PM UTC.
• Special Private Course quests can be completed once per world. The progress is shared with all your characters in the same world.
• Toben Hair Hero’s Special Private Course rewards can be obtained once per world.

Attention Maplers,

With the v.236 update, currently scheduled for early October, we will be making a major change to how NX, the paid currency for many Nexon games including MapleStory, is handled. With this change, NX Prepaid and NX Credit will be merged, with every Nexon player's balance of the two currencies being combined together. We hope to make for a simpler process for our customers, no longer having to sort out between the two forms of currency, and how each is acquired.

As part of this, there will be some changes to how certain Cash Shop purchases and actions function, in order to prevent fraudulent charges and protect the game economy. Some of these changes have already gone live as part of the v.235 Update on August 31st, and include:

• Cash Shop Items that were previously unpurchasable with NX Credit can now be purchased normally.
• Cash Shop Items that could only be purchased at a certain level with NX Credit no longer have any level restriction on purchase when being purchased.
• Purchased items cannot be gifted to other players within 7 days of first NX charge. Note, if you have already charged NX to your account in the past, you will not be restricted from gifting.
• Note: First Charge restrictions that are in place for NX Credit will also be applied to the merged NX. If you have cleared those restrictions in the past, then that status will be carried over to the new merged NX.

  • Fixed the issue where the ETC tab Buff Freezer is not used when the character dies.
  • Fixed the issue where filler dates appear when denying Maple Pop Star Dreams.
  • Fixed the issue where using Raven Tempest when the skill's custom command is locked disconnects the client.
  • Fixed the issue where untranslated text appears when viewing the "?" in the 64-bit options.
  • Fixed the issue where text that appears on the screen when collecting Fans' Love says Popularity.
  • Fixed the issue where Pop Star Dreams "?" text entry for "How much Fans' Love do I have right now?" incorrectly uses the word "Popularity" in its description.
  • Fixed the issue where when accepting [Pop Star] Maple Pop Star Dreams! there are multiple instances of "Popularity" appearing rather than "Fans' Love".
  • Fixed the issue where Fairy Bros' Damage Skin (Unit) Selection Box's text description in the Event List isn't matching Fairy Bros' Damage Skin (Unit) Selection Box.
  • Fixed the issue where Fairy Bros Golden Giveaway UI reads "Golden Chariot".
  • Fixed the issue where when viewing your home information with 60 minutes left on your furnishing shopping, the text incorrectly shows as "0 hr 60 min".
  • Fixed the issue where NPCs overlapped on a specific location in Orbis and client shut down when clicking the overlapped NPC.
  • Fixed the issue where the client shut down when hitting the button for "Change Potential" continually with lack of Zero weapon points.
  • Fixed the issue where Punch Machine does not register scores beyond the 5th attempt.
  • Fixed the issue where the Mysterious Treasure Chest mini-game does not end properly.
  • [Updated Sep. 6] Fixed the issue where NX Items became invisible after equipping them & logging into the game.
  • [Updated Sep. 6] Fixed the issue where the Cardinal Deluge's text description contained untranslated text.
  • [Updated Sep. 6] MVP Credits for the August 2022 Marvel Machine were distributed.
