Blooming Forest Anniversary Update
As you may have seen already from our v.232 Update Preview post, MapleStory’s 17th Anniversary is just around the corner! As a celebration, we are inviting our Maplers to the Blooming Forest, where you can play mini-games and earn special functional and cosmetic rewards. For more information, please look forward to our v.232 Blooming Forest Patch Notes on April 26.

Explorer Redux
Our Explorer jobs will undergo a revamp this summer, which we hope will achieve the following goals: strengthening each class’s unique characteristics, modernizing the combat patterns, and enhancing skill growth experience. Here’s a list of the Explorers that will have their skills revamped:

There is much more to come in addition to the highlighted skills mentioned above, such as an updated Explorer storyline and updated V Matrix. We’ll share more information when we’re closer to the update release.

Additional Revamps to Boss Rewards
During the June update, we plan to revamp our Boss Rewards and these are some of the changes that will be included:

• AbsoLab and Arcane Umbra equipment items will now drop in Armor Box and Weapon Box. The boxes will drop at an increased rate from defeating higher-tier bosses.
• Will’s Cursed Spellbook and Mitra’s Rage will now drop in a box.
• Rewards, such as 50% Bonus EXP Coupon Voucher and Sparkling Red Star Potion, will be added to certain bosses.
• Rewards, such as Chaos Scroll 60% and Wealth Acquisition Potion, will be removed from certain bosses.

Kanna Skill Adjustments
As previously announced in our January 13th Maple Memo, during our June update we plan to remove the monster respawn time altering effects of Kanna’s Kishin Shoukan skill and replace it with a 10% increase to EXP gained. When this change was first announced, quite a few of you wondered about how this might affect the future of Wild Totems. We’d like to inform you that we have no plans to make changes to Wild Totems at this time. We will elaborate on the overall skill adjustments further in our June update patch notes.

Player Housing Content
My Home is coming this summer to all worlds. My Home is new content where Lv. 200 and above Maplers will have their very own house in MapleStory! You can decorate your house with furniture and use various features it provides, such as storage, music player, invitations, and much more. You can invite other Maplers from the same world to come to your house or you can visit your friend’s house if it’s set to public, regardless of them being online or not! We hope you will utilize this personal living space to further show off your unique styles (FashionStory on the next level) and to socialize by holding socially distanced hangouts with friends and guildmates.

That’s all we wanted to share with you about the upcoming patches until July 2022. We would also like to inform you that our MapleStory team has been working towards releasing GMS roadmaps at a regular cadence going forward. Starting this June, we plan to share GMS roadmaps covering the high-level contents and changes within the next 3-4 months, every quarter. You can expect a Roadmap Maple Memo during the following months:

• Late March
• Late June
• Late September
• Late December or Early January

Please note that since plans may change due to unforeseen circumstances, there is room for the roadmaps to be slightly delayed or we may post a mid-update to inform you of the changes to the proposed timeline. We will try to avoid such a situation but if it were to happen, we would appreciate your understanding and patience.

We hope these roadmaps will assist with providing clarity on the upcoming contents plans and avoiding confusion about when certain contents will be released in GMS. Our MapleStory team will continue to work towards providing advanced notice on contents and changes throughout the year.

Just wanted to give an update on what we’ve done in the April 14 maintenance.

April 14 Maintenance
We have replaced all the Aurora world channels during the April 14 maintenance and will monitor the channel performances after the deployment.

Reviewing the comments from the survey, it seems there has been a noticeable improvement in the worlds that received the change. Though, we still saw a few comments about players experiencing lag on certain hours or channels so we will continue our investigation.

In addition, we will continue to monitor the channels in NA Reboot, Bera, and Scania worlds while we proceed to replace channels in the remaining worlds.

As usual, we will post another survey to gather information after this weekend, when the Aurora world channels have had some time to be played on for a few days. The survey link will be provided here in this post as well as posted on our community platforms. We’d appreciate your active participation and feedback on these surveys.

[Update Apr 12] On the event UI, there is a text error where a Thief symbol is labeled as "Warrior" when hovered over. The text is incorrect and the bonus points will be provided when the mission is completed with a Thief character.

Event Details:

• Are you ready for some challenge? Ready or not, here comes Tactical Relay 2022!
• Requirements: Lv. 101 and above (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2).
• Accept the ‘[Tactical Relay] Tactical Relay 2022 is Here’ quest within the star event notifier on the left side of the screen.
• There are a total of 9 stages with missions that you must complete one at a time in order.
• Each character can complete one stage per day. Thus, you will need 9 characters to complete all 9 stages.
• Stage missions are the following:
  
  • Hunt 500 monsters near your level
  • Reach 150 Combo Kills
  • Defeat a Daily Boss
  • Hunt 1,000 monsters near your level
  • Clear Monster Park 1 time
  • Activate a rune on the map once
  • Defeat 3 Elite Monsters (Elite Champions do not count towards the mission)
  • Reach 150 Multi KOs
  • Hunt 1,000 Arcane River monsters
• Remember, you must click the ‘Start Mission’ and ‘Complete Mission’ buttons for your completion to count.
• You cannot clear the mission if you’ve reached the Monster Park entry cap for the day before accepting the mission.
• You cannot clear the mission if the character defeated daily bosses for the day before accepting the mission.
• When you complete a stage you will receive 50 points. You may receive bonus points based on the Job and level of the character used to clear the mission.
  
  • Bonus Points
    
    • 10 additional points upon clearing a stage with a specific Job. Specific Job can be identified on the Tactical Relay UI.
    • 20 additional points upon clearing a stage with a character Lv. 200 and above.
    • Players may receive a total of 30 additional points upon clearing a stage with a specific character Lv. 200 and above.
    • Note: Xenon will count towards for both Pirate and Thief.
• You will receive daily rewards upon completion of stages 3, 6, and 9 each.
• As you accumulate points, you’ll also receive special rewards such as Tactical Relay Chair 2022 Coupon, Growth Potion Selector Coupon, Experience Nodestone, and more! See the reward section below for more information.
• There’s also 2 special missions that you can complete during the event duration.
  
  • Special mission 1: Accumulate 10,000 points
  • Special mission 2: Defeat Lotus, regardless of the difficulty, 3 times, each with different characters.
  • Only solo clears will count towards the mission completion.
  • Once you’ve cleared both special missions you will receive the Perfect Tactical Relay Chair 2022!
• You can use Daily Booster up to 3 times during the event duration to earn double the points.
  
  • Points earned during the day prior to using the Daily Booster will also be doubled.
  • Daily Booster effect will reset at 12:00 AM UTC.
• Daily rewards must be claimed before 11:59 PM UTC daily per world
• Cumulative Point Rewards can be obtained once per world and must be claimed before April 26 at 11:59 PM UTC.
• Stage completion will be reset every day at 12:00 AM UTC.
