The time has come to show off your battle skills in our special Discovery Arena event! Characters Lv. 33 and up will be qualified to participate in a special 5v5, PvE arena match, so get in there and start earning Arena Points!



You can register for a battle by going to the Discovery Arena. To get there, complete the "[Discovery] Discovery Arena" quest from the star event notifier on the left side of the screen, then open the Discovery UI and move to the Discovery Arena map. Once in the waiting area, speak with the NPC Cynapse. From there, you can participate in battles, register your combat power with your current power, learn about the battle details, and view the rankings.

Once you select "Matching," you'll be matched up with 4 other characters from your account based on your battle rank (you can register characters while participating in the battle). You can view limited information about your teammates' stats, and decide whether to battle or request a rematch. Winning will earn you Arena Points, which will increase your overall battle rank (battle ranks reset every week).

Once the battle starts, your team will be placed in a stronghold with walls and turrets to help you during the fight. Walls have high HP and will block your opponents path, while turrets will attack your opponent and alert you to their position. There are two types of turrets:

• Bombarding Turrets: Detects players' positions and launches vertical attacks that can reach anywhere on the map
  
• Laser Turrets: Placed in a fixed location and launches horizontal attacks at specific areas to the left and right of the turret.

If you can defeat all the enemies on the other team, you win the match! You'll receive Ark Points as well as Arena Points as a reward, and your battle rank will go up. If your character is killed, you leave the match, or the client is closed, then you lose the match. Your battle rank will go down, but stronghold enhancements will remain the same.

After the event ends, the rankings will be finalized and you’ll receive the following rewards based on your final ranking:

Daily Reward:

If you participate in Discovery Arena battles for 15+ minutes each day, you'll obtain Arena Points based on how you ranked during your matches! Arena Points can be exchanged for 1 Ark Point Each, and each character can exchange up to 10,000 Arena Points per day.

Once this event starts, your character will be given the Summon Parrot skill! You can then summon a parrot that you can feed with Colorful Fruit that drops when you hunt monsters within your level range (20 levels below and 20 levels above). In exchange for picking up the Colorful Fruit, it will give you Discovery Points, which can be exchanged for Ark Coins! (Each color of fruit gives the same amount of Discovery Points).



The parrot will grow from stage 1 to 10 as you fight monsters and feed it fruit, and its skills will increase with each stage. Once it hits stage 10, its body color will change depending on which color fruit you've been feeding it! You can use the parrot for an additional two weeks after the event is over.

Here's how the parrot's stats grow with each stage:

Players with characters Lv. 33 and above can partake in a quiz for Ark Points! The more questions you answer correctly, the more Ark Points you'll win!

During the event, a "Discovery Glacier" invitation will appear above your head at the 15th and 45th of minute of every hour. Accept this invitation to enter a game of OX quiz. Statements will appear at the top of the screen, and if you think the statement is true, move into the O zone. If you think the statement is false, move into the X zone. Make sure you move into one zone or the other because sitting in the middle will always get you a wrong answer. There are a total of 20 questions, but you only get to proceed to the next question by getting each one correct. The more answers you get correct, the more Ark Points you will get. If you miss a question early, you are free to leave, but if you stay until everybody is done, you will receive a bonus of 500 Ark Points. You will not be sent an invite if you have already hit your 20,000 Ark Point limit for the day.

For a limited time, players with characters Lv. 33 and up can participate in a special game of 70-player Bingo! Invitations for the game will be sent out every 30 minutes at the 15-min and 45-min marks of each hour. Each game must have a minimum of 10 players, and has a maximum of 70 people. Complete the game by clicking the numbers on your bingo board when Kemdi calls it out. The round ends when 30 players have completed bingo, and each game lasts for three rounds. Each player who participates in the game will be rewarded with Ark Points! (There is a daily limit of winning 20,000 Ark Points; after that, you will not receive any more invitations).

Players with characters Lv. 100 and up can take part in a special monster hunt! To participate, go to the Discovery Dome waiting map and enter the battleground map. There, you can use Ark Coins to summon monsters and hunt them! Summoned monsters will be bound to each character, and can't be hunted by any other player. Destroying summoned monsters will grant you +120% EXP compared to normal monsters!

For 10 Ark Coins, you can summon 500 monsters. Here are the daily limits for summoning monsters based on your level (there cannot be more than 2,500 summoned monsters at one time):

Note that if you don't have permission to enter the respective regions of Vanishing Journey, Chu Chu Island, Lachelein, Arcana, or Morass, you cannot summon monsters from that region.

As a way to make the name-changing process easier and more accessible for players, we're hosting a special event where players can purchase Character Name Change Coupons to give their characters a new name! This coupon will even allow players to instantly perform name changes while still in-game, so if you've been waiting for the right time to change your characters' names, don't miss out on this special event!



Here's how to change your name:

• Once the event starts, characters Lv. 33 and up will receive a quest notification informing them to go to the Ark Coin Shop. The Ark Coin Shop can be accessed by talking to the Yeti located in Henesys, Leafre, and Nameless Town.
  
• At the Ark Coin Shop, players will be able to purchase a Character Name Change Coupon for 400 Ark Coins.
  
• Players can then take their coupons to Mr. Newname (pictured below), who will change your characters' names in exchange for one coupon!
  
• Your character's new name will be changed instantly after you log out and log back in to MapleStory. Each character's name can only be changed once per week.

Between July 25 and August 1, players can also participate in a Monad Countdown Event, a daily quest that will run for 6 days per account and offer even more rewards! To join, players will need to clear the Monad opening scenario before the closing update, then accept the "Countdown Event!" quest through the event notifier. Each day you can accept the "Duration Time" event quest. Stay logged in for 30 minutes to receive a reward. You can complete this quest every day for 6 days. In addition, for one time only you'll be able to watch a unique cutscene after accepting the event quest, and receive an item that will grant 50% additional EXP for 30 minutes.

NEW CONTENT: MONAD
Experience Monad, a new blockbuster adventure in multiple acts! Travel to new area Abrup Basin, and lend your aid to an old woman whose granddaughter has disappeared. This content features new types of gameplay experiences such as saving the residents of a burning town, managing the resources of a caravan, and engaging in a massive town battle to save the villagers from swarms of monsters.

Battles take on epic proportions as you fight the gigantic Julieta, where the environment is as deadly as the monster! Escape on a Shrelephant as Julieta chases you through Grim Vale. Look out for crumbling buildings as Julieta follows you into Skuas Town! There are lots of new monsters including Eyefuls, Werebeasts, and Hellfangs, but it’s not all bad. You’ll also meet new types of allies that will attack enemies by your side.

Once you complete the opening acts of Monad, you’ll be able to access the MONAD Mission Board. Complete daily and weekly missions by repeating the content to earn rewards such as mesos, flames, titles, and more.





NEW BOSS: WILL
MapleStory’s toughest boss yet, Commander Will, appears as you explore Esfera! Will exists in both Maple World and Mirror World and you must fight him in both at the same time. Grab a party of 1-6 players and take on Will in three phases of battle. Look out for Will's spider skill attacks, and beware his reflection, which can attack with a will of its own. Collect Stone Cobweb Droplets to trade in for Arachno Coins. These coins can be used to purchase Lv. 200 Arcane Umbra equips, Will’s Soul Shard, Boss Medals of Honor, Occult Cubes, and more. You can also acquire a new 5th skill node, ‘True Arachnid Reflection’, by using the Mirror World Nodestone dropped by Will.





LAB SERVER
For a limited-time, you can play in Lab world where you can experience different concepts and try out new systems! You’ll be able to create one Explorer-class character as you play through a hardcore game style. If you die, your character will revert to a Lv. 10 Beginner, and your AP/SP and HP/MP will be reset. Monsters will have more HP and their stats will be five times better than on regular worlds. Potions will also have a cooldown applied to them, so you can’t escape death by spamming your potion button! However, the Enhancement Scroll count for all items is set high, at 255, so you’ll be able to enhance your items to their very best. You can also earn Lab Server Coins from monsters, which can be redeemed for useful items from the coin shop. Helpful boost potions and random boxes containing equipment will also drop. Do your best to take on this hardcore world!





REBOOT (EU) WORLD
Get ready for Reboot world which will be available in the Europe region! In Reboot, the focus is on fighting monsters and earning the gear and mesos you need through monster drops and progression, rather than making purchases from the Cash Shop or buying gear from other players. Monsters are stronger, but they give more EXP and mesos when defeated, as well as equipment that matches your character’s job. Item enhancement is simplified, and trades are disabled. The emphasis is on YOU earning what you need through hard work and progression!

DISCOVERY EVENTS
More Discovery Events will be available! Keep earning Ark Points for the Ark Coin Shop by battling other players in Discovery Arena, joining up for a huge game of OX Quiz in Discovery Glacier, or a giant Bingo game in Discovery Desert! You can also visit a battleground where you use Ark Coins to summon monsters in Discovery Dome. These monsters give +120% bonus EXP when defeated to help you level up! In Discovery Life, you can find a friend when you receive a parrot to raise. Hunt monsters near your level to find colorful fruit. Feed the fruit to your parrot to help it grow big and strong and level up! You’ll receive buffs as the parrot grows.





OTHER EVENTS
Create a brand-new character (other than Ark) during the event period, and select it to have the special “Burning” effect when the Mega Burning Project event returns. After your character reaches Lv. 10, every time that character levels up it will gain an additional two levels all the way up to Lv. 150! For a limited time, you will also be able to purchase a Character Name Change Coupon from the Ark Coin Shop!

Log in each day with a character Lv. 30 or above, and click the gift box icon on the left side of the screen to receive a Gift Box, and then double-click the box in your inventory to open it. The Gift Box can be obtained once in a 24-hour period every day, resetting at 5:00 PM PDT / 8:00 PM EDT / 2:00 AM CEST / 10:00 AM AEST.

Once you receive the gift box, you can open it anytime before 1:00 AM PDT / 4:00 AM EDT / 10:00 AM CEST / 8:00 PM AEST of the following day.

If you have more than 30 unclaimed gifts, you may not be able to see the Hot Week reward. Please clear any unclaimed gifts and login again to see the Hot Week reward.

Get yourself a parachute and take to the sky in Discovery Sky to see how far you can float, collecting flower petals on the breeze. Players Lv. 33 and above can begin by accepting the quest ‘[Discovery] Discovery Sky’ from the event notifier. You can access the Discovery Sky via the Discovery Map UI located next to the star event notifier, and clicking the cloud icon. There are more flying maps to unlock, but you must complete the Flight Master quests before moving onto the next area.

Once the event begins, dash off the platform by hitting the right arrow twice, then jump off the platform before pressing the space bar to open up your parachute. The goal is to glide as far as possible and collide with the objects in the sky to gain Sky Points and gain height. Sky Points are used to automatically upgrade your Flying Level when a certain threshold is reached. Bonus effects will also be unlocked when obtaining a new Flying Level. You can gain additional Ark Points and Sky Points when flying certain distances.
