The following dungeons are closing their doors:
* Sky Cruiser (Hard)

New Gear
There’s also new gear to be had in patch 102: Kaia’s Soul Gear! To kick things off a weapon and armor will be available in January, with hand and foot armor following in patch 103. New items (accessories) are currently not planned for this set.
How to get the new gear:
The Kaia’s Soul set is an upgrade to Kaia’s Wisdom/Fury Gear and works as follows:
* You Kaia’s Wisdom/Fury armor or weapon must be at +15.
* The item must be soulbound to you.
* You need 10x Lumikan’s Wing Fragment and 5,000 Gold.
If you fulfill these requirements, you can upgrade your gear with a single click (100% chance of success). The new item will be immediately bound to you, but it can be liberated five times (used number is reset).
The upgrade transforms your item into a Kaia’s Soul item with 0 of 3 possible random options, regardless of whether the original item had 0 or 3 options.
Etchings and fusion options are also lost when upgrading. However, new options and etchings can be added using the existing systems.
How to enchant your items:
Kaia’s Soul Gear can be enchanted up to +9 and will never lose an enchantment level that has already been reached. So if you have reached +8, you will be able to reach an even higher level but you will never fall back to +7!
Other than this one alteration, the system remains unchanged. Only the materials and their sources are new:
The chances of success when enchanting are shown in game, and a familiar feature is making a return: enchantment correction. Each unsuccessful enchantment attempt slightly increases your chances of success the next time you try!
How to get more options:
The system is identical to the current one. However, there will be new scrolls that allow options on gear to be redone.
The functions and sources of the scrolls are as follows:
The effects are as follows:
While you can no longer drop to a lower level from enchantment levels +7, +8, and +9, they are time-consuming to reach—and for good reason: reaching these levels activates additional powerful effects that grant you an advantage in instances.
Old Gear
To make the road to new gear a little easier for all players—both newcomers and veterans—the following changes have been made:
* Enchant rate greatly increased, and each failure now adds a 1% correction rate.

We’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year! 2020 was a bit of a crazy year and despite the coronavirus pandemic which has hit all of us hard, we’ve been working to turn several huge TERA projects into reality. Some of these have been very successful, particularly the addition of new players from Southeast Asia, Russia and America to the Gameforge family. Unfortunately, the TERA Battle Arena and Core Area were not as successful as we’d hoped and will be closing their doors again in 2021.
Patch Overview
As part of the first two larger updates coming in the new year, we’ll be implementing lots of the changes and additions to TERA that you’ve requested. Here’s a brief overview of what you can look forward to:
Patch 102 in January
New dungeon: The Catalepticon – with no entry limit Returning dungeon: Ruinous Manor New gear: Without any degradation in the event of failure
Patch 103
Etchings will become permanent An additional new dungeon
As well as these adjustments, we’re also working on further improvements at the moment. It goes without saying that we’ll keep you posted.
New Dungeon: The Catalepticon
In the new dungeon The Catalepticon, you’ll have to go up against Lumikan, a warrioress you’ll already know from the story around Exodor.But watch out; she’ll turn her swords into a spear during combat in order to draw you out.
Thanks to your feedback in recent months, this instance will be playable without any weekly limit whatsoever! As a reward, you’ll receive (among other things) valuable materials which you’ll need for enchanting the new gear.
Kaia’s Soul Gear
You can get this new gear by upgrading your existing equipment – you’ll need some +15 Mythical gear. But don’t worry: enchanting existing items is getting easier too – further details are in the patch notes.
Kaia’s Soul Gear can be enchanted up to +9, with the first 6 levels (+0 to +6) being relatively easy to reach. The last 3 levels (+6 to +9) demand quite a bit more dedication. However, this equipment will never revert back to a lower level – while it’s still possible for an enchantment to fail once you’ve reached +8, the level will no longer drop back down.
As levels +7, +8 and +9 are particularly difficult to reach, they will grant you certain pre-defined effects once you achieve them!
And it’s not just in dungeons that it’s possible to get hold of new materials, but also via various PvP activities as well as via merchants in the TERA world. As always, the full details on this gear can be found in the patch notes.
Patch 103: Etchings
We’ve heard your feedback on etchings loud and clear and forwarded it on to the developer. All temporary etchings from patch 99 will be converted as part of patch 103 so that:
all 30-day etchings become permanent all 60-day etchings become an item with two permanent versions
Etchings which have already been applied to your equipment will also be converted as part of the patch – in the event that they’re still valid when the server maintenance takes place.
Your Feedback Is Important to Us!
You’re welcome to keep on sending us requests, suggestions and complaints. Please be sure to do this via the forum – this is the only way your feedback can reach the developer to then be transformed into effective changes for future updates.
We hope the changes listed above show how valuable your feedback is to us – both to Gameforge and the developer, Bluehole – and that we want to keep on improving the game for everyone!
We hope you get off to a good start in the New Year – keep well! The TERA Team

You’ll also get your hands on new and rarer card fragments, with additional events and rewards also in store for you as part of this update.
Dungeon Gauntlets
This new system makes it possible to play existing instances with scalable difficulty – all you need to do is simply go to the respective teleportal and select the “Dungeon Gauntlet” option. Please note that the instances available are subject to change in future updates.
You’ll then be taken to a new menu where you can decide on the difficulty level. The recommended item level will also be displayed. As the difficulty increases, so too does the item drop rate and the amount of Adventure Coin. The number of Dungeon Gauntlet runs you can make per week are counted separately, and are independent of regular instance entries.
**Akalath Quarantine**
* 10 entries per week (20 for Club members)
* The increased drop rate affects existing loot
**Red Refuge**
* 10 entries per week (20 for Club members)
* The increased drop rate affects existing loot
**Draakon Arena & Velik’s Sanctuary**
* No entry limit
* The increased drop rate affects event tokens (read more about this below)
**Training Ground**
* No entry limit
Expanded Card Collection
**New Cards**
New cards have been added to the Card Collection, which you can now collect:
* 5 NPC cards
* 26 monster cards
* 12 materials cards
* 6 fish cards
* 11 panorama cards
**New Item Grade**
Alongside common cards (white) and uncommon cards (green), there are now rare cards (blue) too!
The cards can be viewed via the usual Card Collection menu and lend you more powerful effects, which have, of course, been added to the collection effects as well.
**Miscellaneous**
* The number of possible card presets has been increased from 3 to 10.
* 11 additional collection effects have been added.
* More rewards for a higher number of Card Collection Points (10,500–23,500) have been added. On top of that, it’s possible to reach higher Collection levels with the new cards.
* The rewards for existing Card Collection Points (500–9,500) have been updated.
Card Fusion
A new system for combining card fragments has been added. You can now make use of any duplicate cards you’ve collected in full.
**4-to-1 Fusion**
Using the new option in the inventory menu, you can fuse 4 card fragments (of the same rarity grade) together to produce a new result — the possibilities are as follows:
• You receive card fragments of the same rarity grade (one or more).
• With a little luck, you receive card fragments of a higher value (up to 20 at once).
• If the fusion is unsuccessful, you’ll still receive Mileage Points (find out more about this below).
Different cards must be used for each fusion. Rare cards cannot be fused and event card fragments (e.g. Ruby Moon Elin) cannot be obtained as a result.
**20-to-X Fusion**
You can also fuse 20 of the same card fragments via a second tab – with this, the chances of coming away empty-handed are high. If the fusion is successful, however, you can get 10 to 20 fragments of a higher rarity grade!
**Mileage Points**
You get Mileage Points whenever a fusion attempt fails. This means you’ll still profit even when unsuccessful, as 1,000 Mileage Points will get you 20 Mileage Point Tokens, and these can be exchanged for specific cards!
Instance Changes
**Classification**
The classification of the following bosses has been changed (this is important for the way Card Collection effects work):

**Commander’s Residence**
* Entering this instance reduces the number of entries.

* It’s possible to obtain the rare or superior version of a partner as bonus loot. The superior version allows you to keep the power buff after you die.
Miscellaneous

TERA Battle Arena
The TERA Battle Arena game mode will come to an end with next update (patch 102) at the beginning of 2021 – you can find more information about this in our [news post]. Changes to the TERA Battle Arena will therefore not be discussed in further detail in the patch notes.
A new TERA patch is in the starting blocks, and we want to give you a little taste of what’s to come! Click onto our TERA livestream on 9/12/2020 at 6:00 PM CET (12 PM EST): https://www.twitch.tv/teraeurope
Our Game Designer Atmorph will be presenting all the most important goodies in the new patch. You can look forward to the following topics:
New difficulty levels for dungeons
Improved trading card system
Additional in-game drops
New mounts, costumes, furniture and quite a bit more
Note: the stream will only be available in English – have fun!
Face some tricky challenges in a brand-new dungeon system: you’ll have **more dungeon entries** available to you, including for especially **demanding instances**, and there’s **new NPC costumes and partners** to enjoy among your hard-earned loot. In addition, the **trading card system** is getting a makeover. All of this and much more is packed into patch 101—the last patch of 2020.
New Difficulty Levels for Dungeons
In the future, the new dungeon system will allow you to adjust the difficulty of existing dungeons just to your liking. The first instances you’ll be able to try out this new feature on are the Akalath Quarantine, the Draakon Arena, the Red Refuge, and Velik’s Sanctuary. To adjust a dungeon’s difficulty, simply head to the teleportal of your chosen instance and click the “Play Dungeon” button. A new menu will then appear where you can select the desired difficulty level—and the recommended item level will be conveniently displayed at the same time. Remember that while you can enjoy increased drop rates in tougher dungeons, entering them also costs more Adventure Coins.
Improved Trading Card System
Your card album’s also getting a makeover: now not only can you collect lots of great new cards, but you can also find a completely new type of trading card—rare (blue) ones! What’s more, in the future you’ll no longer be frustrated by duplicates of cards you already own: With the Card Fragment Fusion feature, you can combine 4 existing card fragments into a new one. Do so and you’ll receive either a card fragment of the same grade, or with a bit of luck you could even come away with a higher-grade card fragment!
New Costumes and Partners
Just like in the summer with Hagufna’s Body Armor, in patch 101 you can once again get your hands on a costume belonging to a powerful boss: Lakan’s Evil God Armor Set! Collect tokens for this armor by completing daily quests—or get lucky and snarf his weapon (for lancers) and cloak as loot in Velik’s Sanctuary! You can now also acquire Kalligar as a partner in the Draakon Arena, who also has a powerful special effect!
All of this and much more is coming your way in patch 101!
This December is absolutely packed with action in TERA! Read on to find out more about what’s coming up. Just want a quick overview? Then take a look at our event calendar .

Unfortunately we have some bad news today. It’s with a heavy heart that we must sadly announce the closure of the TERA Battle Arena (aka TBA).
We wish to thank everyone who provided us with such great feedback during the TBA beta phase! Based on the responses, however, we have had to make the difficult decision to close both TBA and the Core zone. We’ll close the game mode down with the server maintenance for the release of update B102 in the new year.
Don’t worry, there are no other downsides to this change for you. Afterwards, you will be fully recompensed in Tikat for any items you purchased with that currency for the TBA mode. If you still have Tikat in your balance, this can continue to be used in the TERA MMO as usual.
Please make sure to remove all unclaimed items from the item claim before the mode closes down, as unclaimed items (incl. Tikat) will not be refunded.
We apologize for this sad news, particularly as we know some of you had a lot of fun with the TBA game mode.
We’ll keep you up to date on further developments.
Starting today, you can re-enter 3 forgotten event dungeons, right through December and into the new year! The entrances to these rediscovered dungeons can be entered by players from anywhere in the Gameforge family – Europe, North America, Russia and Southeast Asia!
Entry
You’ll have to travel to Highwatch to find your way into these instances. NPCs will be standing on the main square to teleport you to an instance. Afterwards you can exchange the tokens you get from the instances with them for rewards! We’ve added an overview of the rewards which can be found in the instances to our November event overview.
Harrowhold
Once per week you can enter the raid battle against Vergos.
The instance is a 20-player dungeon for item level 457–473
Can be entered once per week
Battle takes place over 4 phases
Each phase grants rewards to party members
No adventure coin required
Special “God Slayer” title for completing phase 4 five times
After completing a phase, you can leave the instance or party, and continue later on from where you left off either with the same or with another party. Phases are reset with the regular dungeon entries every Tuesday.
Timescape (Hard)
The Timescape is another relic of a bygone era in TERA – and a challenge you’ll hopefully live up to! Take down the two dragons Eremes and Hemera in succession, then head for Tempas, the Kumas of Storms with his deadly electric attacks. Finally, you must face Valona herself, the Master of the Timescape! Confront the goddess’ faces with the rotating patterns on the ground, or you are goners!
Five-player dungeon for item level 484
Can be entered 2 times per day (4 for Club members)
Requires 150 adventure coins
Similar rewards to those in the Draakon Arena (Hard), with some event extras
Special “Time Lord” title for defeating Valona the 100th time
Timescape
While hard mode has had some adjustments, the normal mode is identical to how it was earlier. So if you want to start off with the timesphere minigame and defeat some basilisks and teraliths on your way to Tempas, this is the version for you! Pick up rewards identical to those in the RK-9 Kennel, plus a large amount of XP!
Five-player dungeon for item level 457
No limit on weekly entries
Requires 170 adventure coins
Note: In the patch notes we mentioned there being a title for normal mode, and indicated the loot was worse than it really is. Both of these points were wrong.
Preparations for the Event Dungeons are ongoing - and now you can participate too!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. I play via Steam already, can I participate? Every TERA player can participate, including existing Steam players.
2. I play via the Gameforge Client, can I participate? Yes! As a GF Client player, you will require to download the complete TERA live client on Steam (~67 GB).
3. Do I need to start a new character on the Test System? You will be required to create a character on the test system, as live characters aren't copied to it. On the plus side, users that already took part in our last public test, will still have their previous account! Tokens to acquire gear will be provided in-game.
4. I encountered an issue on the PTS, what can I do? We won't provide custom support for issues on the PTS, including, but not limited to, issues around your character, items or the server itself. Please do not contact our customer support for any PTS-inquiries, as no support can be provided. Instead please make sure to report your findings in the special forum thread, as detailed above.
5. Any known issues I should be aware of? Due to the nature of this test, the server might be unavailable sporadically, or for a prolonged period of time. Otherwise, the same client as for the live servers is used, and as such most functions should work correctly. Please note: • No HP Gauges will be displayed above the bosses in Harrowhold. This is unfortunately intended, but partially remedied by an alternative display. • Some other content on this test system has been deactivated during this test window, as the focus lies on Harrowhold.
6. Can players from the NA region also participate? Yes. However, please note that the server for this test is located in Europe, so you may encounter a high ping or lags.
7. What content is in Patch 100? For a general overview, please have a look into our Patch Preview we released: Patch Notes 100. For the Event Dungeons specifically, please note that every player can only enter the Harrowhold raid once per cleared phase, just like on the later live servers.
8. There is two servers, but I can't access them? Only the test system "W2 Atmorph (Beta)" is open to the public. If you cannot access this world, please double-check if your client is patched correctly. Alternatively, it could be that the server is overflowing with players in the worst-case scenario, and you will need to wait a little. The system "W1 Baldrov (internal)" is not intended for public access.
9. Why is X or Y missing? This test system might not contain all the settings we're used to on the live servers. This includes, but is not limited to, events, token and NPC stores, dungeon drops or similar.
