1. Character Balance Adjustment

* Some characters' balance adjustments are being applied with priority, before the official character balance adjustment that will take place in April.

Lann - Common
Can now briefly dodge enemy attacks with 'Gliding Fury' and 'Absolute Fury'.
  • Gliding Fury

Developer's Notes:
The intent of adding evasive frames to Gliding Fury was to retain Lann's bold and lighthearted playstyle.
However, we recognize that excessive overbalance can make your gameplay less tense, so we'll be adjusting Gliding Fury's evasion to a level that allows him to respond to monster attacks.
We'll also be monitoring Twin Swords Lann closely as he's expected to generate a significant damage boost, which may unfortunately result in a nerf in April's character balance.
We also promise to continue to monitor Twin Spears Lann to ensure that he maintains an appropriate difficulty level in that combat experience.

Arisha - Spellsword
  • Increased the damage of the following attacks by 10%:
    > Active: Crystal Burst

  • Active: Crystal Burst's STA recovery amount is increased.
    > When inflicting damage on the enemy by detonating the Mana Crystal: 100 → 120

  • Active: Ether Zone's STA recovery amount is increased.
    > When inflicting damage on the enemy by detonating the Mana Crystal: 100 → 120
    > Each time you inflict damage on the enemy in the damaging mana zone area: 13 → 20

Delia
  • Can now briefly dodge enemy attacks with the final attack of 'Active: Full Moon'.
    > The final spin animation of the active skill, Full Moon,

  • The Full Moon that chains from Guard can now dodge enemy attacks.

  • Changed the 'Vigor' Status Effect as below.
    > The damage increase rate applied on the enemy via Comet skills has been adjusted when Vigor Lv. 1 and Lv. 2 are applied.
    - Lv. 1: 10% → 15%
    - Lv. 2: 15% → 18%
    - Lv. 3: 20% (Same)

    >  Changed the hit conditions that reduce the 'Vigor' effect's level.
    - Lv. 1: Hit 7x → 8x
    - Lv. 2: Hit 5x → 6x
    - Lv. 3: Hit 3x → 4x

  • To further elaborate, we are providing the frames for the action on the chart below.

Developer's Notes:
We're expecting the evasive properties added to Full Moon after Delia's Guard to give her more flexibility in how the she can react to monsters.
We don't expect this to translate directly to improved character performance (although it should make for better combat and survival).
We'll keep an eye on the play logs so that we can make adjustments in the March character balance.
Also, the Keen effect added to the Ion Thrust seemed to be of marginal benefit so we did not apply a fix.
We will re-evaluate it around the time we implement utility improvements along with Vigor, Zenith, etc.

Miri
  • Changed Active: Ancestral Garb as below.
    - Required SP: 500 → 300
    - Cooldown: 520 sec

  • 'Active: Ancestral Garb' animation can now be skipped via dodging.
    - You can now use Dodge to skip the animation in both solo and multi-player battles.
Developer's Notes:
We're keeping the same usage patterns as the original ultimate format, but reducing the cooldown to make it more useful in longer battles such as Redeemers and Space Time Distortion.
Miri's performance required some buffs, so we felt the decision to leave the cooldowns alone would not overpower her.
We'll keep an eye on the character's performance over time to see if she should be included in the April character balance.
We're also testing the selective use of the transformation appearance that Miri players have been wanting, so we can promise that will be in the April update.

Charon
  • 'Star Fall' can now be chained off the skills below.
    - Arisha (Spellsword) - Active: Temporal Shift
    - Arisha (Spellwhip) - Active: Chaos Symphony
    - Vella (Twin Swords) - Active: Cyclone
Kai
  • 'Prey Drive' can now be chained off the skills below.
    - Arisha (Spellsword) - Active: Temporal Shift
    - Arisha (Spellwhip) - Active: Chaos Symphony
    - Vella (Twin Swords) - Active: Cyclone
Arisha - Spellwhip
  • Increased Active: Chaos Symphony's stun duration on the enemy monster by 1 second.
Vella - Twin Swords
  • Increased Active: Cyclone's stun duration on the enemy monster by 1 second.
Developer's Notes:
As part of the modifications to Charon and Kai's skills above, we've added a 1 second stun for Arisha (Spellwhip) and Vella (Twin Swords) to prevent monsters from attacking them when they're using their suppression moves.
We've retained the duration of the time you are unable to control your character while the characters are using the suppression moves.
The issue where you are unable to combo after Hurk's Active: Terminus and Evie's Active: Reverse Gravity are currently put on hold as there are additional things we need to verify.
There's a problem where using Hurk's Active: Terminus and entering an additional input could extend the animation, creating buggy gameplay that disables combos.
We'll first need to decide on which direction we want to go with the fix.
Also, Evie's Active: Reverse Gravity is not set as her main suppression move so the fix has been delayed.

Some dye parts of the Special Stern Patrician Top will be changed during the Tuesday maintenance on 3/26/2024.
  • The coat lining's color that was influenced by 'Color Part 3' will be changed to be affected by 'Color Part 2' instead.
  • Due to this change, the Special Stern Patrician Top's Color Parts 2 and 3 will revert to outfit's default dye colors.

If you had used an Outfit Dye Ampoule to apply different colors to Color Parts 2 and/or 3 before the maintenance, we will send an appropriate Experimental Outfit Dye Ampoule to your character's mailbox.
  • Example 1: If you have colors applied to both Color Parts 2 and 3 that differ from the default colors, you will receive ampoules for each part.
  • Example 2: If you have a color that is different than the default color applied to Color Part 2, but not to Color Part 3, then you will only receive an ampoule for Color Part 2.

If an outfit cloned via Clone Outfit Crafting Box currently exists as an attached item in the mailbox, the outfit icon will display the colors from before the change. However, after claiming the outfit you will see it in the updated colors.

Hello, This is DEV Allanon.

The Vindictus Team has received extensive feedback from our users regarding the Max Level Expansion and Expertise Update.

Thoroughly reviewing the feedback provided an opportunity to assess whether the planned update is on the right track.

Before delving into the details, it's necessary to explain the intention behind the Expertise update.

Additionally, I would like to address the changes we’ve made based on the feedback from our users.

[INTENTION FOR EXPERTISE UPDATE]

The intention for the expertise update can be elaborated in three main aspects:

1. We aim to make the circulation of materials more fluent by expanding the usage of expertise and farming processes.

As valuable materials are concentrated in top-tier battles, we intend to adjust the value of lower-tier battles through the update.

We expect to create a more enriching gaming environment by providing motivation to users enjoying top-tier battles and inducing play patterns such as targeting specific battles for needed items.

We're also considering developing a feature that allows players to selectively remove the crafter's name, as previously discussed.

2. We are planning to gradually change the gameplay pattern to reduce play fatigue and require less playtime.
In line with recent gaming trends, we want our users to enjoy Vindictus with a lighter heart than before.

To achieve this, we plan to change and adjust the playtime structure more efficiently, resulting in better outcomes.

We anticipate that the ‘Core Boost System’ will lead the intended changes, with increased synergy expected from this system in line with the first intention mentioned.

Additionally, for players who prefer longer playtimes, we felt it necessary to adjust the advantages of playing sub-characters.

3. With the diminishing importance of communication, we intend to activate more interaction between users through Expertise.

As an online game, playing with others is unavoidable.

However, due to recent declines in competition and cooperation, there is a concern that interacting with one another may seem awkward in Vindictus.

While the expertise update may not be the perfect solution, we hope it will serve as a stepping stone for positive change.

[MODIFICATION FOR PLANNED EXPERTISE UPDATE]

Firstly, top-tier expertise will remain shareable across accounts.

Crafting will also be possible with shared top-tier expertise.

This means a single character will be able to use all top-tier expertise and engrave the same crafter's name on items.

Also we are planning to develop an function to delete the crafter name as well.

Secondly, material refinement needed for crafting will be possible through both expertise crafting and NPC crafting.

Thirdly, we plan to introduce an expertise transfer system for players currently investing time and effort into upgrading expertise proficiency.

Transfer between characters meeting certain requirements such as level will be possible.

During the transfer, the title related to the expertise will also be transferred.

However, top-tier expertise will not be transferable, and only expertise proficiency up to 399 will be eligible for transfer.

In summary, regarding the update to top-tier expertise following the max level expansion, a single character will not be allowed to learn all top-tier expertise, but sharing will be permitted between characters within the same account.

However, shared expertise will only be allowed to craft equipment for its own use, and crafting for other characters will be precluded.

We understand that the change itself may not be discomforting for our Mercenaries.

However, we recognize the need for corrections if the change results in significant profit or loss depending on the situation.

We are sincerely grateful for the feedback provided by the Mercenaries.

Some Mercenaries may agree with the above intentions, while others may not.

We understand that these concerns stem from a love for the game Vindictus.

Therefore, both myself and all members of the Vindictus team will do our best to proceed with the update with great care.

Thank you.

Hello. This is DEV Allanon, the Director of Vindictus.

First, I'd like to apologize for the late Dev Talk.
I've promised earlier that it'll be revealed by the end of the month.

In fact, it was originally planned to be disclosed on the 23rd.

But due to unexpected internal reasons, we had to delay the release by a week.
If further explanation is needed like this time, I will endeavor to expand our communication channels as much as possible.

In response to feedback from many of our players who felt burdened by the Expertise Proficiency, I've decided to double the Proficiency and Crafting Speed until the Max Level Update.

Additionally, to build anticipation for the new female character, I dropped a hint during the Dev Talk.
Another clue: she is related to a specific character.

Although it was unintentional, I inadvertently spoiled a recently updated storyline.
I will take greater care to prevent such situations from occurring in the future.

Here are some of the inquiries we've received in a Q&A format.

Q: Would LV.120 equipment only be craftable through Expertise?
A: Yes, LV.120 equipment is planned to be exclusively crafted through Expertise.
This includes weapons, armor, totems, and accessories.
To avoid any confusion, there will be no changes in the equipment available for crafting through each Expertise.

Q: Is maximizing Expertise Proficiency mandatory?
A: No, it is not mandatory to have maximum Expertise Proficiency to obtain LV.120 equipment.
Alternatively, you can request assistance from other players with the required Expertise level to craft the equipment for you.

You may also use binded materials and items when requesting the craft from others.

Q: When crafting LV.120 equipment, will Power Infusion and Quality be transferred?
A: We do not plan to transfer Power Infusion and Quality when crafting LV.120 equipment.
However, enchants will be transferred when using the Extraction Rune during the crafting process.

Q: Will LV.120 Armor be updated in the order of [Head – Chest – Leg – Hand – Foot]?
A: The plan for updating LV120 equipment is as follows:

Weapon (Beginner)

Head (Beginner~Legend)

Totem

Weapon (Fine)

Leg (Beginner~Legend)

Earring

Weapon (Superior)

Chest (Beginner~Legend)

Belt

Weapon (Rare)

Hand (Beginner~Legend)

Ring1

Weapon (Legend)

Foot (Beginner~Legend)

Ring2
Q: Will LV.120 equipment require no enhancement? Does this mean Superior Enhancement Elixir, Enhancement Rune, and Premium Enhancement Rune will no longer be needed?
A: Even after reaching LV120, our plan is to retain the necessity of these items when upgrading the item tier.

Q: Will there be a success rate for the LV.120 equipment upgrade?
A: We intend to remove any possibility aspects from the upgrade process.
Players will only need the required materials for the upgrade. We'll monitor closely to determine if further explanation is necessary.

The next Dev Talk is scheduled for April.
Until then, take care.

Thank you.

Hello. This is DEV Allanon, the Director of Vindictus.

I would like to deliver the official statement from the dev team to our players following the announcement that Nexon's newly developed game using the Vindictus IP, "Vindictus: Defying Fate," will be entering a pre-alpha test on Steam.

"Vindictus: Defying Fate" is a brand-new game that is being developed.

Due to its use of the Vindictus IP, the game will contain familiar characters, NPCs, region names, monsters, and certain outfits.

However, "Vindictus: Defying Fate" is being developed as a single-player focused game, aiming to be released on console and PC platforms, which moves it in a very different direction from the original Vindictus.

Since their gameplay differs this will have no impact on the service of Vindictus during the development of "Vindictus: Defying Fate," both now and in the future when it is released.

Vindictus is still planning to provide content for both short and long-term play, starting with our upcoming progression structure improvements in April and soon followed by our max level expansion this May.

We will continue to actively deliver our updates and our talks with you, like we have been doing, and as ever we'll do our best to include what you players want to see.

We anticipate that "Vindictus: Defying Fate" will be an opportunity to spread the IP even further out while we continue to maintain Vindictus as the original, and we will work hard to maintain the charm of the original Vindictus that we have built alongside our players.

We hope to get your continued support for our franchise.

I would like to thank all of our Vindictus players, and I wish nothing but happiness and health for you all.

Thank you!

(Any and all update schedule on the notice is based on KR Service)
