Event Details

Talk to the Explorer of the Forgotten Tomb near the Dunbarton Town Square to enter the Treasure Hidden in a Chest Shadow Mission.
You must have at least one Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Ticket or Forgotten Tomb Special Key Exchange Ticket to enter the Forgotten Tomb dungeon. Tickets are exchanged for keys that will open the treasure chests.
- You can find high-tier items when using the Forgotten Tomb Special Key Exchange Ticket.
- Tickets obtained during the event/sale period will only grant rewards from the reward lists below.
You can only exchange tickets within the dungeon.
When you enter the dungeon, one Goblin, Poison Goblin or Goblin Archer will spawn.
When the monster is defeated, 66 treasure chests are spawned. Use the Forgotten Tomb Treasure Chest Key or Forgotten Tomb Special Treasure Chest Key to open the chests. Each key will open one chest.
There are several ways to obtain tickets.
- There is a chance to obtain a Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Ticket (Event) after clearing any Tara or Taillteann Shadow Mission during the event. Your chance to obtain a Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Ticket (Event) increases with the Shadow Mission difficulty, with harder missions having a higher chance to drop the item.
  - UPDATE 12/3: The following Shadow Missions will not grant Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Tickets. We apologize for the inconvenience:
    - Sniper War - Tara Shadow Mission
    - Shadow Realm Champion - Tara Shadow Mission
    - Let Them Fight - Taillteann Shadow Mission
    - All-Out War - Taillteann Shadow Mission
    - Master of Corrib Cabin - Lord Mission
    - Fragments of a Trivial Fate - Lord Mission
  - A Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Ticket (Event) will expire 30 days after you obtain it
- You can also purchase tickets through the Cash Shop.
Tickets are bound to the character and cannot be traded.
When you exit the dungeon with any remaining keys, the keys are destroyed. However, all destroyed keys will be returned as tickets.
The Explorer of the Forgotten Tomb NPC, and the Treasure Hidden in a Chest Shadow Mission will be available beyond December 23rd.
- You will be unable to purchase additional tickets after the sale period ends on December 23rd.
- The ability to receive the Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Ticket (Event) from the Shadow Missions also ends on December 23rd.
Note: Forgotten Tomb Key Exchange Tickets (Event) will be REMOVED at the end of the event. This includes event tickets from last year and this year.

Maple Memo: A Team Member Returns

Hi Maplers,

For those that don’t know who I am, my name is Dennis, one of the Producers here at Nexon.

For those that do recognize my name, it may have come as a surprise to see me a couple of weeks ago at MapleStory Fest and see this memo coming from me today. It’s been a little over two years since I stepped away from working on MapleStory to produce other projects, but as some of you can guess, I’m honored to announce that I have rejoined the MapleStory team.

Working on other projects at Nexon was immensely fun and rewarding, but it would be insincere of me to say I didn’t miss working on MapleStory and helping the entire team deliver this game to all of you. Much of the knowledge and experience that I used to help those other projects succeed was developed in the five or so years I had worked on MapleStory. So I’m excited to jump back in it with all of you. However, I know my experiences are probably not what you want to hear about, so perhaps I can elaborate about them another time.

Let’s talk briefly about MapleStory.

First of all, as I mentioned above, we have had a fantastic team working on MapleStory, and one of the largest parts of my responsibilities now is to allow them to do the best work that they can. The past two years have brought amazing growth to MapleStory and I only hope to help this team continue that growth with our future updates and plans.

Of course, I understand that there are many ongoing topics and issues that you would like more communication about, and as you can see from our recent Pink Bean Bulletin about recent bans, we have even more ways now to speak to these concerns. Also, as I’ve mentioned in past memos and you’ve no doubt heard from other Producers as well, it can become difficult for us to strike a balance between working on addressing the issues and feedback you all have behind the scenes and communicating with you all about that work. Please continue to bear with us as we keep working on that balance.

We also want to thank you for your patience with our teams these past few days as we investigated and resolved the ongoing stability issues with NA Reboot channels. Although it seems like the channels are relatively stable for now, our teams are still looking into the root cause of these issues to determine a long-term solution. We are currently testing some of these fixes and hope to apply them soon in an upcoming maintenance.

Aside from the above, I don’t have much to discuss in depth this time, so I’ll keep this memo brief.

However, I do want to mention that we’ve heard some of you have been excited to see things like a 64-bit client and Yeti x Pink Bean World released in other services. While we can’t 100% confirm these things will be coming to Global MapleStory, we have been actively discussing the possibility of releasing them in a future update. Please stay tuned for more information from our teams about this and many other topics in the future.

Lastly, I just want to personally say thank you to each and every one of you for continuing to support MapleStory with the passion and dedication that you all have. As I mentioned in my last memo, MapleStory is an important game for Nexon and for all of us who work on it, so we ask that you continue to help us to grow and improve this game with you.

Lara Details

Lara is a young woman from a small, isolated village, venturing out into the world for the first time to fulfill her people's prophecy. Coming across a small, mystical bell, the young Lara has long been friends with the playful and kind spirits that roam the lands of Narin. As she explores the town filled with thieves, thugs, con artists, the poor and downtrodden, will she falter amidst its dangers... or will her pure heart bring out the best of those that she comes across?

Lara can use her Wand weapon and spells connected to the playful spirits that surround her to protect herself and make Maple World a better place. Her innate connection with the lands help her find and become empowered by Dragon Veins, which can be used to power many of her skills, with powerful effects from Sun, Wind, and River spirits to bless her many spells including devastating Eruption skills.

Check out a few of Lara's joyous skills:

Essence Sprinkle: Draw out the earth's flowing essence to attack enemies. Lv. 20+ required to learn Geomancy. Requires 1st Job Advancement.

Manifestation: Sunlight-Filled Ground: Manifest the power of sunlight within a Dragon Vein to create an area bathed in the sun's warm glow. Provides a buff that temporarily increases damage, and the life-giving power of the sun periodically recovers HP within the area. Applies 100% Knockback Resistance during casting motion. Requires Eruption: Sunrise Well Lv. 20+. Lv. 20+ required to learn Nature Master. Requires 3rd Job Advancement.

Dragon Vein Absorption: Dragon Vein Skill. Consumes the surrounding dragon vein to absorb the dormant powers within. Lara absorbs the power of the dragon vein's attribute, and the land spirits of the absorbed attribute deal attacks when either Essence Sprinkle or Wakeup Call hit. If an Eruption Skill of the same attribute is activated during an Absorption skill, the previously activated Absorption skill will end. You will not take damage during Absorption skills even when attacking enemies with attack reflection. Applies 100% Knockback Resistance during casting motion. Absorption Skills are unaffected by Buff Duration Increase. Requires 4th Job Advancement.
Absorption: River Puddle Douse: Dragon Vein Skill, Absorption Skill. When Essence Sprinkle hits, a mischievous River Spirit appears, along with a small body of water, and attacks enemies by dousing them. Requires 4th Job Advancement.
Absorption: Fierce Wind: Dragon Vein Skill, Absorption Skill. When Essence Sprinkle hits, a Wind Spirit appears and causes a fierce wind that deals continuous damage to enemies. Requires 4th Job Advancement.
Absorption: Sunlit Grain: Dragon Vein Skill, Absorption Skill. When Essence Sprinkle hits, the Sunlight Spirits gather together to emit spheres of condensed sunlight that pursue and attack enemies. Fireballs will first target any boss monsters within the area. If there are multiple boss monsters, the boss with the highest HP will be targeted. Requires 4th Job Advancement.
