Update 4.7 and Snork Gunk are now live! Here is the back story to our conchballing, butt-whooping hero:

Although Snork Gunk is considered one of the better conchballers in Scargi space he never reached first league with his team the Pearl Sluggers. He always criticized that the sport had become too slow and blamed the slugs at management for trying to slow the pace of the game (which was already drawn out over the span of 14 Earth months).

“With an average of only one or two goals a game, you have more fun watching paint dry,” he complained. After many times of being disqualified for scoring too quickly, the team benched him for good.

Fed up with his failed career in sports he decided to join the Scargi military police hoping for some more action by tracking and hunting down enemies of the Empire. After a good run of swift catches, he was assigned on a mission to hunt down the fugitive Rocket Renegades. Realising the Renegades had joined the ranks of the Awesomenauts, a team of 'big league' mercenaries, he applied for the transfer of a lifetime...

During the Streamisho today, we released an update for the 4.7 Open Beta! This update contains extensive rebalancing to Snork Gunk, as well as some fixes and changes to other characters.

General

• Fixed that skills could be triggered when getting stunned or silenced by holding down the skill button when the Skill aiming visual option is enabled.

Turrets

• Fixed an issue where players who stuck close to the top of Sentry’s totem while it was close to a turret would distract the turret, but not get hit.

Commander Rocket

• Rocket Launch, minimum damage increased from 150 to 200, maximum damage increased from 350 to 400.

Ix

• Tree Hugger, fixed that the second stage of the upgrade did nothing.

Nibbs

• Demon animal necklace, fixed that the upgrade affects the actual cooldown, and not just in the HUD.
  
• Eternal Flame, fixed that this upgrade created 4 flames instead of the intended 3.
  
• Fire breath, fixed that there were still some occasions where she could be moved during the ability.

Penny Fox

• Energy Pulse, fixed that it now correctly does 90 damage, as stated in the previous patch notes.

Sentry

• Black hole sun, outer/minimum gravity force reduced by 5%.
  
• Ejection seat, fixed that the heal could be triggered when the teleport was still on cooldown due to Sentry taking damage.
  
• Interrogation answering machine, fixed that it gives a 33% attack speed boost as described in the tooltip.
  
• Interrogation answering machine, fixed that it now correctly stacks with Dog tags.
  
• Photon mine launcher, fixed attack speed tooltip.
  
• Photon mine launcher, reduced direct damage from 90 to 85.
  
• Drive-over skulls, now increases explosion range of Photon mines by 60% (as it was in 4.5)

Smiles

• Base health reduced from 1650 to 1600.
  
• Trapper’s Hook, now checks with obstacles before enemies, making Smiles unable to connect the hook though walls and turrets.

Snork Gunk

• Shell bombs, fixed that the tooltip would say the skill spawns 4 shells when Cockle multiball was bought.
  
• Shell bombs, explosion damage reduced from 200 to 160.
  
• Shell bombs, now breaks stealth upon activation and makes Snork unable to go into stealth until the skill is over.
  
• Disco clamball, now attaches a single-use heal to every shell bomb which heals allied Awesomenauts upon contact for 50 per stage.
  
• Sticky snail, no longer does damage at base.
  
• Sticky snail, increased the snail forward speed by 100%.
  
• Sticky snail, decreased the retraction speed by 20%, both speeds are now equal.
  
• Sticky snail, Snork is no longer damage immune during the ability.
  
• Sticky snail, range increased by 20%.
  
• Conchball broom, range increase reduced from 50% to 25%.
  
• Nasty sweat band, now adds 100 damage per stage to the impact of sticky snail.
  
• Tear gas, now leaves a gas cloud when using conch dunk every 5 seconds. The gas deals 45 damage per second and hangs around for 3 seconds.
  
• Action gloves, now adds 50% base damage to the next conch dunk when hitting an enemy Awesomenaut with a shell bomb or sticky snail.
  
• Snail slime container, shield now disappears when all shells have hit.
  
• Snail slime container, price increased from 165 to 210.

Yuri

• Base health reduced from 1400 to 1350.

Hey everyone, as you have probably heard in recent news, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will go into full effect this week. As we process and store some data relating to your Awesomenauts account, we’d like to take a moment to let you know what this means for you and Awesomenauts.

In order to provide you with some of the essential components of the Awesomenauts service, we have to store data relating to your account. This allows us to provide you with matchmaking services, a player profile, progression, in-game unlocks, customer and technical support, and much more. The bottom line is that we don’t store or use any data except as needed to provide you with the full Awesomenauts experience, so we won’t use any of the data we store for these purposes for marketing or anything else.

We have updated the EULA that pops up the first time you launch Awesomenauts to provide a little more information on the data we collect and what we use this data for. As the document has updated you’ll be asked to accept it again, but all the changes are just to further clarify what was already there.

The processing, storage, and use of personal data is a hot topic and we take it very seriously. If you have any questions or concerns about it, please let us know in the comments below or get in touch on robin@ronimo-games.com.

If you’re reading this right now, the leaderboards have been reset! Get the band back together, grab your partner(s), stock up on energy drinks and jump on Awesomenauts to get your new rank! Expect encounters with mixed skill levels for the first few days since everyone will be reset to a rating of 10,000.

If you’re a newer player who has played fewer than 100 games, you will automatically get a reduced rating to avoid being matched against higher level players. It’s also important to note that this reset only influences your leaderboard rating. You’ll keep any character and account progression you’ve made.

A new season means the leaderboards will reset so everyone gets another crack at getting their career high rank. Expect being matched with players of mixed skill levels in the first few days but once the dust settles, we’ll see if you’ve stayed in the kitchen or if you couldn’t handle the heat!

If you have played fewer than 100 games, you will automatically get a reduced rating so you’re not playing against a high-ranked player. Everyone else will be reset to a rating of 10,000.
