Tomorrow, Friday the 6th, preparations for a great battle are starting. You can participate in The Vying until Monday, Aug 16th, choosing your side in the clash of Chaos and Order and at the same time following Oryx’s path to greatness - which was also the Shattered Kingdom’s descent into ruin. Many choices made in this era formed the Realm we know today, and choices must now also be made by you. Perhaps more than one choice.
Hello Realmers, He’s been with you since October, 2020, loves to cook and has a cat named Balder which you’ve probably seen on a Tuesday live stream.
IGN, Nationality, and Age?
Wotansson, Portuguese, 40
What is your job? Tell us about it
I’m the community manager. This means I get to spend the majority of my time with you, the community.
Why did you want to be a Community Manager?
I’m a people person. I love to communicate and solve problems. This is what I do, no matter what job I have. Community Management fits this perfectly.
How is it to work with the Realm community? How is it different from other communities?
Realm’s community is quite unique. I could go on and on about how passionate the players are, but that might just be a consequence of having a game become part of your life for the last DECAde. Some of the players have grown with the game, and that shows. They know it very well. RotMG is, and always will be, (...) Read the rest of the interview on the blog.
The Crawling Depths and Woodland Labyrinth will host a chest event that will take place from Friday, the 30th of July at 12 PM UTC, until Monday, the 2nd of August, at 12 PM UTC.
Today we bring you one of the moderators from the official Discord Server. Loves the Socerer and wants an Assassin rework pretty badly. Meet Brillo.
Nationality and Age?I’m 22 years old and I was born in Trinidad but grew up in the US.
What is your day job? Tell us about it.I work as a newly promoted Tech Sales Supervisor in a retail chain called Staples which sells products to businesses, schools, and individuals. My area of expertise is electronic product sales, tech services, customer interactions, and making sure products we carry on hand are on the shelf for our clients. As mentioned prior, I am also in the midst of training for my new position so I will have some more responsibilities but I know I'm capable.
Any hidden talents or hobbies? To address the big elephant in the room, I am indeed a furry! It’s been a hobby of mine since my high school years and I’ve enjoyed all the amazing and talented people I’ve met in it. Can’t say I would be who I am today if I never joined the fandom. As for hidden talents…I can play the trumpet decently well due to middle/high school band, although admittedly I’m rusty.
How and when did you start playing RotMG?I was introduced to RotMG in the Fall of 2012 by one of my best friends. We played it a lot in the school library during the study period and once I found out it had a browser version, I started playing it at home. Many days (and nights) were spent playing it and I still remember getting my first stat pot (speed!) drop and first t8 weapon (horror) like it was yesterday.
Favorite Class, Dungeon, and Item?My favorite class has always been Sorcerer. I find the combination of his stats to be super satisfying. Not too fast like dagger classes, but not too slow like some other robe classes. Also 75 vit?! That still amazes me to this day. My favorite dungeon is The Shatters. I turned that passion into pursuing Raid Leading in the Shatters Discord server and have made it all the way to Head Raid Leader! I've been at it for over a year now and have no plans of stopping when the rework comes out. I'm very excited about it. My favorite item has to be The Forgotten Crown for its pure versatility among all classes and its rarity making it an incredibly sought-after accessory.
What other games do you play?My PC isn't the most powerful so I'm limited. However, I love playing fps, rhythm, and fighting games like Call of Duty, Geometry Dash, and Rivals of Aether/Smash Bros!
What makes RotMG unique? RotMG is a game with high stakes and often a great reward if you play long enough. What keeps people coming back besides the addicting bullet-hell gameplay is the community within the game as well as the amazing feeling of getting a white bag.
What would you change? At the core level, I think the game is in a relatively good state. However, I think it's about time Assassin is reworked. Make the poison cost less, give him more base MP or give them more effects. It feels like a relatively underwhelming class right now even though he is my 2nd favorite class to play. (Also keeping up optimization and server lag issues!)
What made you join the discord Mods?I have always enjoyed moderating in Discord servers (as evidenced by being an HRL/Officer in Shatts) and I always loved RotMG. So I thought I'd give it a shot and help moderate for the official server. It still feels surreal that I was given the opportunity to do so and I am thankful for it. I don't plan to go anywhere any time soon!
How do you see the game in 10 years?I see three possible paths for it. It makes it onto the console market, it becomes a 3D Minecraft-like experience or ELDER REALMS! I'm more inclined to the latter 2 options. :)
Something went terribly wrong at the Mad Lab! Dr. Terrible’s experiments went, once again, sideways and the tech he was trying to import from other dimensions is now available for the taking of the heroes who dare to enter not only the lab but High Tech Terror as well. Even the mighty F.E.R.A.L.got affected by this disturbance in the space and time continuum. And beware of the transformations that might affect you while you explore the most advanced facilities of the Realm...
High Tech Terror and Mad Lab will be dropping 1.5x loot and exp from Thursday, the 22nd July at 12PM UTC, until Monday, the 26th July at 12 PM UTC.
In addition, the following cosmetics will have the chance to drop from the respective bosses:
Dr. Terrible
Robo Brain Pet Skin Random Mad Scientist Skin Hoverbot Pet Skin Blorph the Archer Skin
F.E.R.A.L.:
Healbot Pet Skin Leech Robot Necromancer Skin Exploratory Bot Paladin Skin Tricycle Bot Pet Skin
Commander Calbrik decided to invade again and he even set the date: Wednesday, 7th of July, at 12 PM UTC. The quests have some very interesting loot waiting for the brave heroes who stand against him and defend the Realm.
From 07/07 to 14/07, Commander Calbrik will be guaranteed in Realm – he will drop Universal Fragment x2 and Shard of the Advisor x1, also guaranteed drops
From 07/07 to 14/07, Alien Biff will be spawning in the Realm after Ghost Kings are defeated – he will drop Universal Fragment x1 and Shard of the Advisor x1, also guaranteed drops
From 07/07 to 14/07, all Alien dungeons will have 2x the XP rate, and their bosses will drop Universal Fragment x2 guaranteed and have a chance to drop Shard of the Advisor

Don’t get fooled by his IGN, this guy is closer to an angel or the opposite of the Harry Potter soul-devouring ghosts. He is 27, comes from India, and has a real passion for motorbikes. Meet Demonterx.
What is your job? Tell us about it.Currently I am the Lead for the Embedded QA team for Realm of the Mad God
Any hidden talents or hobbies?Am more of a motorcycle adventure traveler. My hidden talent is also related to my hobbies – I can fix any motorcycle so it can get me to the next garage for repairs.
How did you end up on DECA?I wanted to work for a studio that operated on a confined smaller scale so I could contribute more to the product, and DECA was on the top 5 when I decided to move from a bigger gaming studio I was a part of.
Did you play RotMG before? To be honest, on and off during my working hours back in my old days, we used office computers to play multiplayer games other than what we were supposed to work on.
RotMG was a flash game back then – low on system resources and left no traces in the browser. 😉
Favorite Class, Dungeon, and Item?Class – Archer – cuz of the rate of fire that makes me run and shoot with the ST set on Dungeon – HTT Item – My Admin Sword – cuz only a few in the realm has access to it
What other games do you play?Am more of a console guy cuz I treasure my consoles very much – still play on my Playstation 1 and NES till my thumbs sore out.
What makes RotMG unique? The number one reason is the fact that RotMG appeals to gamers who are into retro visuals and I think RotMG nails it.
What are the things you love the most in the game?Grinding, definitely grinding. Also our beautiful community
What would you change? For sure the Realm Map, because now I know it like the back of my hand.
I see RotMG with more content for the end-user. For sure as the game will evolve in ways one cannot anticipate.
In this update, we reshaped the Star Ranks, re-decorated the Nexus, and fixed a few bugs. If you got curious and want to know more, here are the changes that affect the game:
Star Ranks
For those of you who have seen and tried the new Star Ranks, we would like you to know that we gathered your feedback and it's being taken into consideration. Yes, the Class quests are changing. As we mentioned before, we keep reviewing and adjusting the Fame values. Due to the new way of acquiring Fame, Star Ranks got to a point where they were much easier to acquire and thus much less representative of the player’s mastery of the different classes. We want to change that. We want to make Star Ranks somewhat more aligned with your mastery over a class, and we decided to introduce some important variations to how Class Quests are unlocked:
Now it is unlocked based on the Base Fame (the Fame you obtain while you are alive with a single character, without Fame Bonuses). This means you need to be alive and acquire a big enough amount of Fame (Bonuses not counted) on a single character to unlock the Class Quests stars.
Also, we increased the costs and reviewed them with the current base fame growth rate we observe from our data.
Fame Changes
Fame Bonuses tweaks:
Beachzone now correctly counts completions Heroic Abyss of Demons and Heroic Undead Lair no longer have Fame Bonus associated. “Seasons' Beatin” and “Realm of the Mad God” Fame Bonuses now require Beachzone but not Heroic Abyss of Demons nor Heroic Undead Lair.
Fame gain per minutes
Until now, players would earn a little bit of Fame accounting for the time they are “active”. However, the amount earned by this method was irrelevant and even confusing. So we have decided to deprecate this mechanic. While the stats will still be tracked by the system, no Fame will be gained with time.
XP-to-Fame conversion
We have decided to simplify and deprecate the old Fame conversion formula. Now it will be done in two phases instead of the previous 5. Phase 1: Up to 18050 XP (Total XP to reach LVL 20) Fame is worth ~1:900 XP (x0.00111) Phase 2: For above 18050 XP Fame is worth 1:2000 XP (x0.0005) In short, this means that every 2000 XP you get with your character (assuming LVL 20) you will gain 1 Fame.
The ones beyond the realm’s eyes, the Daeva, have been witnessed for the first time in generations. As reticent as ever, their exact goals are unclear. But there is no doubt that they would not reveal themselves if not for sensing some great disruption in the order of the realm. That disruption is surely related to a more unnerving sight in recent days: Corrupted paladins, wholly subject to the whims of the lingering evil the realm’s heroes know all too well. These twisted entities have rejected the holy nature of paladins and embraced a far more malicious force. Powerful, yes, but such strength never comes without consequence.
Today we are excited to be announcing the bonus program “Story of War VI.” We are sure most of you are already familiar with how these go, but we will explain it anyway:
The bonus program is a time-limited event that can be accessed in the Shop. It allows players to collect Bonus Points with gold they spend in the Shop (or by directly boosting it via the Boost button) and claim Bonus Rewards. You can collect BP by purchasing Mystery Boxes, Packages, and Items in the Nexus and Cloth Bazar areas with Realm gold.
Please note that slot unlockers and name changing do not count for the bonus program. Fame purchases do not count, either.
Just like with “Story of War V”, Avarice Medallions will have an option to reward the Mini Skin, and in two neat quests at the Tinkerer, you’ll be able to swap a duplicate mini skin for a new Mystery ST Crate of the same class.
More details below:
Start: June 29th, 2021 End: July 15th, 2021 at 12:00 PM UTC Grace Period: till July 19th, 2021 at 12:00 PM UTC Quests at the Tinkerer: till July 19th, 2021 at 12:00 PM UTC
Other Changes:
Added Summer decorations to the Nexus
Bug Fixes:
Fixed a grammatical error in the Infernal Archdragon tooltip
Notifications listed in the Log list no longer appear overlapped with messages pop-ups in the chat console
Fixed a bug that caused the game to lag and skip a few frames when a user clicked the log list.
Fixed the issue that caused the Whisper function to not work properly.
Fixed the issue where equipping 'Entropy Reactor' temporarily increases the attack fame bonus along with attack stats. Now after equipping the item, the user gets increased attack stats only and no attack fame bonus
The stats are now sorted in a way to achieve consistency across all equipment.
