As you might know, the deadline for submissions for the Dungeon Design Spec Contest was on Sunday. We have received many exciting and creative submissions and are thrilled to be reviewing them. To many of you: great job!

Oryx’s Sanctuary is officially out and open to all abominable knaves and feeble ants to try their hand at defeating Oryx’s new and mighty final form. We hope you are ready to face him and his entourage! They are ready to face you. Here is what this release brings.
New Content
Added Oryx’s Sanctuary to Realm Exalt (only!).
Added new UT items to Oryx’s Sanctuary. Oryx 3 drops:
Divinity (Beam VFX are currently temporarily disabled, but the damage is still done in the corresponding area)
Oryx's Escutcheon (Beam VFX are currently temporarily disabled, but the damage is still done in the corresponding area)
Added the Heavenly Angelic Bard ST Set to Oryx’s Sanctuary (drops from all minibosses and Oryx).
Added new T14 weapons, T7 abilities, and T15 armors to Oryx’s Sanctuary.
OST by WangleLine: Added the Wine Cellar Theme to the Wine Cellar.
New O3-related cloths: They drop from bosses and minions. <Boss> Cloths and <Boss Symbol> Cloths drop from the respective bosses. Sanctuary, Steel, and Plate drop from the minions in the dungeon.
New style of HP scaling known as adaptive scaling. Instead of a linear percentage, enemies in Oryx’s Sanctuary use a more sophisticated exponential formula for HP scaling. This means that the HP difference between the first few people is very minor, but eventually slopes up and becomes increasingly steeper for each person. We aim for this to allow smaller groups to benefit and not contend with levels of HP scaling mostly meant to match larger parties, and may implement this new style across the game at a later date.
Realm Exalt client will be set as the default on Steam later today. Flash is still available in the drop down menu.
Fixed an issue where newly spawned enemies could be instakilled.
Players are now Silenced and Stunned in addition to Invincible for the first three seconds upon entering a dungeon. You can also no longer be damaged by terrain during this period and shots will pass through you.
Added a ‘Credits’ button in the main/ESC menu (those are not final!).
'Release' Pet button now shows and functions properly.
Cursor is now disabled when players use the /pause command.
Fixed an issue where item info bubbles would disappear upon walking over chests and other inventory displaying objects.
Fixed an issue where players could not drop items while the Player Stats/Attributes panel is open.
Fixed an issue where players’ names and text bubbles could appear flipped upon entering a new area.
Fixed an issue where players’ pet briefly displays as the Caretaker upon entering a new area.
Fixed an issue where the player indicator icon was sometimes not displayed on the minimap.
Fixed some disparities in displaying 3D objects in Unity and Flash.
In the Snake Pit, the breakable walls now have a distinct color on the minimap.
The 'Quit' button now disappears from the screen once you load into the Nexus/Dungeon (when the player presses the 'ESC' key while on the loading screen).

Added new Realm Eye lore in the Cursed Library.
Fixed a rare bug with the Rock Dragon which could softlock the realm from closing.
Fixed Honeytomb Snare’s tooltip.
Fixed typo in Fractured Gemstone Wakizashi tooltip.
Made improvements to the Wall of Fame.
Nest Colony (encounter) yellow explosion projectile no longer pierces armor.
Removed the Arena portal from the Nexus (on Flash).
We are aware of a current issue involving certain monsters to be instakilled, namely the Marble Colossus. We also know this is being used for quick fame gain, and would like to clarify that this constitutes fame exploiting. We are working on a fix for this glitch very soon, but will also be monitoring accounts who are taking advantage of this and taking appropriate action. Accounts who have abused this over the past few days will not be acted upon, but any exploitation after this point will be punished accordingly.
We hope you had fun getting rekt by testing Oryx 3 with us this week. Things are afoot in Oryx’s abode and epic chords now echo in its corridors. This should hint to one thing: the hunt for Music Note tokens is not over! They will keep dropping for another week and you will be able to keep exchanging them in the Token Tocatta quest until 07/22 - 12:00 PM UTC, as well as in a new, once-per-account event quest - Final Cadence - until 07/22 - 12:00 PM UTC:

Wine Cellar Chest Challenge
The Mad God himself will be the host for this wine tasting Chest Challenge, which will run from 07/16 - 12:00 PM UTC until 07/22 - 12:00 PM UTC, again with guaranteed Music Note tokens (and a Shard of the Intern) dropping from the chest. Formally:

Added information marker about connection quality. It is displayed left of the minimap. Orange marker means that the connection isn't stable. Red marker means connection is bad.
Other Fixes and Improvements
Added a short lore description to all dungeon keys to match the style of more recent dungeons.
Changed the name of Ancient Spell: Pierce to just Ancient Spell.
Coral Venom Trap now uses pink particles.
Fixed a messed up tile pattern in Davy Jones's Locker.
Fixed the Prismimic’s HP scaling on both forms to activate before it first becomes vulnerable, and increased the scaling percentage of both forms to 30%.
Fixed the Quiver of Thunder’s description.
Frostbite and Bow of Eternal Frost no longer drop in a purple bag for consistency with other T11 winter reskins.
Haunted Armors in Oryx’s Castle can no longer be dragged indefinitely.
Hermit Tentacles can no longer be dragged away from their setpiece.
Made Beachzone, Candyland Hunting Grounds, and Parasite Chamber dungeons guaranteed drops from their respective enemies in the realm.
Megamoth Larva’s puke water no longer glitches the canopy tiles above it.
O1’s spawns (such as Anti-Spectators) now have a failsafe to disappear if O1 dies quickly instead of lingering and potentially stacking in place.
The Deadwater Docks chest will now stay invulnerable until players are close to it.
The Megamoth Larva, Mammoth Megamoth, and Murderous Megamoth are now stasis immune.
The quiet shots of Septavius the Ghost God are now much larger for visibility.
The Tomb and Ice Tomb bosses now all remain visible on the minimap and behind walls at all times.

We’ve all seen character skins for sale in the Nexus. Having some pet skins was the next request you guys had. So here we go! Starting tomorrow, July 8th at 8:00 AM UTC, you can find the following pet skins in the Nexus:
There have been some art contests the past few years, but this next round is special. It is cool to see that there are Realmers who love this game so much that they dive deep into design. What do we mean by that? Creating your own dungeon concepts, sharing them with the community, asking for feedback, making changes on it and so this cycle begins. It is a process which takes unbreakable dedication and countless hours of going through all specifics of such a project.
After all, Realm of the Mad God itself came from a humble game jam and expanded over the years beyond anything thought possible at its creation. That being said, the Realm design team wanted to take up the next community contest - dungeon creation! Let's get into details.
Dungeon Creation/Specification Contest
I. You have around 3 weeks to submit your dungeon specification. SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 07/26 at 12 AM UTC // 5 PM PST (the previous day). All entries submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed!
II. One submission per person >>>SUBMIT HERE <<<, containing your dungeon's specifications.
III. Specification details:
Must be in a Google Doc format (mostly for the easier sharing, make sure you disable editing by anyone but yourself and enable the option to be freely viewed by anyone with the link!).
Must be in Arial font, size 11, single space.
Must be a maximum of 10 pages. Clearly communicated mechanics, concepts, layout information, and enemy behavior will be more valuable than ultra-specific numbers and values that can clutter the pages.
Must not include any art (#soon) so any specs that do have art, will not be reviewed.
Submit the specification only once! Duplicates might take you out of the contest so make sure to submit the specification once!.
Do not plagiarize/no copyrighted content!
A maximum of 1 person can work on the dungeon specification.
Mind your language! Keep it SFW, do not use any foul language.
Use only examples of behavior, mechanics, etc from existing content. I know you are full of ideas but we want to see what you can do without going wild on any new condition effects and/or behavior that may not currently be possible as is.
You're only allowed to use a design specification that has never been used/shared with the community anywhere else.
Deca reserves the right to disqualify a submission if it doesn't fit the criteria above or contains inappropriate content.
Note: You are welcome to check this guide. You can be flexible with this guide, it's a way of showing you an example of how your spec can look. You can always remove or add whatever you want that will contribute to your dungeon's concept!
Update: The guide documents mentions that adding art in the specification is mandatory. This is not the case in this contest! Art is not mandatory! Please ignore this part of the guide.
IV. Dungeon Specification criteria
The dungeon specifications will be judged with the following criteria:
Creativity - How unique is your idea, is it different from what currently exists?
Ingenuity - How much can you do with the limits of the game's design? How creative can you become when taking into account the contests limits?
Integration - How well does it fit within the game in terms of progression and gameplay? How well does it fit in terms of lore and world building?
Document Polish - Are sentences grammatically correct and easy to understand? Do the sections flow well into each other?
V. Rewards
Rank 1: 25 dungeon keys of choice (can be different but only for already existing dungeons), 5000 gold and a UT of choice!
Rank 2: 20 dungeon keys of choice (can be different but only for already existing dungeons, 3000 gold and a UT of choice!
Rank 3: 15 dungeon keys of choice (can be different but only for already existing dungeons), 2000 gold and a UT of choice!
Rank 4-5: 5 dungeon keys of choice (can be different but only for already existing dungeons), 1000 gold and a UT of choice!
Note: The UT of choice reward excludes special rewards given out during events and admin items like: Jade Beetle, Abyssal Trophy, America Ring, Gold/Silver/Bronze Medals, Test Ring, Admin Staff etc.
VI. The winners will not automatically gain admission to the UGC group and the winners’ dungeons will not get automatically released into the game. Deca may offer certain outstanding dungeon makers access to the contributors group at its own discretion and will keep the right to deny a dungeon being released into the game.
