This beta branch patch contains changes that that are intended to help address feedback related to reducing the "punishing" nature of losing rewards when failing runs, which makes things feel more grindy and less fun than they need to be. We would love to hear your feedback on these changes so feel free to join us on Discord at https://discord.gg/m9MAfrP or post in the community hub!
Now, instead of losing all your books and relics and 50% of particles when losing a run, you will instead keep all books and relics, but lose all particles. To offset the particle loss some, your Town will generate particles passively while you adventure, based on how many heroes you have unlocked.
We have also adjusted the loot tables and reward chances to make defeating bosses, elites, and midbosses more rewarding, and there is a new useful "farming" item you'll receive after beating Act 1.
The full changelog for this patch is below. Note that these changes are ONLY in the beta branch, and not in the main stable branch.

Version 0.2.10 (Hero Pack #2) has officially left the beta branch, and is now in the stable branch! We'd like to thank everyone who downloaded the beta and provided feedback. You do not need to unsubscribe from the beta branch if you are currently using it, as both beta and stable branches have been updated. Now, on to the details of the major changes we've been testing on the beta branch.
Three New Heroes
Ralf the Jester, Asariel the Angel, and Curtis the Boxer are now available to find as wanderers in your endless runs. Each also has a unique rescue battle you'll need to overcome to unlock them, so get out there and take it to the Cult!
New Reserve Party System
When you start a mission, you will now be asked to take along some reserve party members. Reserve party members do not lose stamina when in reserve, and can be swapped with another hero freely via the Party menu. Any rescues or reinforcements you gather during the mission will be added directly to reserves, so you can use them more freely immediately.
Battle Menu Redesign
We've made the text a bit smaller and the menus more streamlined in battles. It's now easier to see and choose from a hero's skills at a glance.
Changelog from 0.2.9b
Blob enemys' Bomb attacks are now classified as spells
Kiara's (Banshee) Wail skill is now just a normal MP-based skill, instead of charging on allies being downed
Kiara's (Banshee) Posession skill now requires charge up over time but lasts 3 turns instead of 1
Sovras' (Necromancer) Death Shroud skill reworked to give access to Ritual and Dark Bargain skills, and use Aspect skill type
Paul's (Linebacker) Blitz Stance bonus reduced from 1x speed to 0.5x
Fixed possible softlock with George's (General) Command skill after cancelling targeting
Fixed a possible crash when applying Gelatinous Goo and Hardened Stone relics to Seth (Lizardman)
A list of all the other changes from the last stable version is listed in the in-game changelog.
Version 0.2.8b is now available in the beta branch, with 3 new wanderer heroes for you to rescue in endless mode, and a few other changes that we think help make things more interesting. Once we're happy with feedback and any bug fixes, this update will make its way to the main branch.
Changelog for version 0.2.8b
First off, the three new heroes. These heroes are classified as "wanderers" and can only be rescued in endless mode (of any act).
Ralf, the Jester
He may be dressed like a fool, but Ralf is an expert at juggling and throwing blades with deadly accuracy, even several at a time. He can also inspire his allies into action with a jaunty tune played on his flute, if he so chooses.
Asariel, the Angel
Sent as an emissary from the Kingdom of Heaven, Asariel wields the holy powers of resurrection, healing, and protection. As an angel, she is also a warrior in her own right, imploring evil doers to repent lest they feel the burn of her Holy Blast.
Curtis, the Boxer
Jab, jab, uppercut, hook! Curtis is the master of combo punching and quick feet. Start with a simple jab and build up to a powerful combo finisher to put your opponent on the mat! Curtis is also no slouch defensively, as he powers up with an adrenaline rush or nullifies enemy attacks with a solid block.
New Reserve Party System
Another major update included in this patch is a new system that we think will make it more fun and worthwhile to take rescues and reinforcements, and help better manage stamina in an engaging way.
