Today we have another balance and bugfix patch based on your recent feedback (thanks for contributing!)

Changelog for version 0.1.4

Bug fixes
  • Fixed a few skill-related bugs that could sometimes result in crashes (Power Ballad, Incision)
  • Fixed Hydraulic Suit incorrectly showing level 3 buffs at level 1
  • Fixed tutorial's final "sparkle" shader not getting removed properly after tutorial ends
  • Fixed bug where available break skills would not update properly from unlocking characters without reloading the game
  • Fixed Armor Form Claire's Reflector Shield's MP drain on hit
  • Fixed Armor Form Claire's block animation to not display shield unless using Deflector Shield skill
  • Fixed Armor Form Claire's AI to use damaging skills when using borrowed Frenzy
  • Dropkick skill's added Stun damage can no longer miss if main physical damage hits

Balance Changes
  • Increased minimum particle rewards from normal battles a bit, to make rewards more consistent
  • Increased particle rewards from elite fights to make them more rewarding to win
  • Increased relic break down rewards a bit
  • Reduced duration of Dark Shroud enemy skill to 1 turn and reduced its dodge bonus by 20%
  • Reduced Broodmother's Consume Egg skill's heal amount and limited it to 1 use per battle
  • Final boss fight will now end when The Twins are killed, removing the other enemies
  • Blob enemies now have far less toughness, but more endurance, with more variation (including Big Blob)
  • Spiderling enemy's Spider Growth now capped at 3 stacks
  • Cultist Brute enemy's Ancient Rage now capped at 6 stacks
  • Darius' endurance reduced, technique increased
  • Darius' Air Strike can no longer miss, but its charge time is now 5 turns
  • Amenemhet's entomb skill can no longer miss
  • Zane's technique increased a bit
  • Zane's Combust skill can no longer miss
  • Zane's Melt Armor now pierces through defenses, in order to work more like the description would lead you to believe
  • Zeke's Finisher skill can no longer miss

QoL changes
  • Tutorial's enemy level decreased to make fights less sloggy
  • Tutorial now has a section describing how to manipulate battle animation speed (L1/R1 or +/-)

We just pushed a small hotfix that should help address a few stability reported stability issues and minor bugs.

Another small patch addressing some reported bugs, crashes, and balance concerns.

Changelog for version 0.1.3
  • Fixed crash related to hatching spiderling eggs
  • Fixed crash related to Draw Soul's Spirit Ally being removed from battle
  • Fixed occasional crash related to transforming multiple times in the same turn
  • Fixed some potential memory leak issues, and a few other rare crashes
  • Fixed endless mode not properly restoring on reload
  • Fixed Battle Ready distortion to properly apply first damage bonus
  • Fixed grenade skill animation displaying character's weapon instead of empty hand
  • Fixed Air Strike skill dealing damage to dead enemies
  • Fixed Fire Blast skill dealing damage to dead enemies
  • Added an option to disable screen flashing effects for photosensitive players
  • Ambush skill (Marine, Assassin) lv 1 bonus reduced
  • Plague Doctor given various reworks/buffs to improve him:
    • Plague now automatically spreads at beginning of turn
    • Plague now does much more damage but lower max stacks
    • Healing Vapors decreases poison damage and heals later
    • Plague knife now doesn't affect allies
    • Now has much better technique so he can actually hit enemies

This patch includes some balance fixes based on early feedback, and a few bug fixes as well.

  • Marine's Air Strike and Grenade damage reduced
  • Priestess' Piety skill bonuses improved for faster ramping
  • Claire's Laser Pistol skill has been changed to deal focus-powered energy damage, with level 2 dealing fire damage
  • Drones can now only summon another drone once per battle, and are more likely to summon Heavy Drones instead of normal Drones
  • Dark Blobs can no longer summon other Blobs
  • Big Blob boss no longer has other blobs with it to start the battle, but splits into multiple "normal" blobs when enough damage is dealt. It also can no longer summon other blobs.
  • Fixed bug with High Density distortion where it awarded too much Endurance
  • Fixed Iana's Bow relic to not process for DoT effect damage
  • Fixed Master Scout Flag relic not granting a free turn on Claire's alternate forms
  • Fixed crash related to Break Bones skill at level 2/3
  • Fixed protect-related bug for Mutant Twins boss
  • Added a better crash logging process to help players submit bug reports

This is a small patch to address a few bugs and inconsistencies in the launch version. These changes will invalidate the map if you have saved and exited in the middle of a non-tutorial run, which will result in canceling the run and sending you back to town.

  • Fixed an issue where enemy husks could have player-defined relics
  • Fixed bug where finishing the tutorial did not grant the appropriate achievement
  • Fixed a bug where certain distortions could cause a crash when being restored from a mid-run save
  • The first encounter of the map is now always a battle
