I know I mentioned that the last mini update would be the last one before V10 came out, but!
V10 has evolved to encompass some fairly significant work and changes under the hood. Because of this content overhaul, V10 will require about 2-3 months before being released.
To cover some of the time before the next major update, I will aim for a few smaller content updates that won't interfere with the content/changes coming in V10. Details on what's included in V10 will be shared at some point in the near future.
Here is a running list of additions/changes that are completed so far for the upcoming V9.4 Update. This post will be updated every few days so be sure to keep an eye on it if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.
Update 9.4 should be ready for release in about 1-2 weeks.

This will be the final mini update before V10.0 is released. This update is focused on AI optimization and combat behavior(s). FPS and overall game performance should also be better on this update.
Last Edit: 5/5 by Sifner
AI Changes:
CHANGE - AI behavior optimization, boost to game play performance. CHANGE - Performance tweak: Village AI will now spawn in when Player gets within specific distance of village as opposed to on game load.
ADDED - Vambies are starting to develop new behaviors & skills that tie in to their unique nature. When engaged in combat with the player, there is a chance the Vambie will retreat to heal themselves up. They can jump away, run away, or utilize their new teleport mechanic to phase out of range to safety.
ADDED - Vambie behavior- observation. Enemy AI may now observe players at a distance before choosing to engage or retreat.
Other Changes and Additions:
CHANGE - Visibility in Blizzards decreased. CHANGE - No more fog/mist intrusion into player bases. CHANGE - Control panel now lists quantity of each type of power source. CHANGE - Fresh games will spawn an extra ration of sticks & stones in close proximity to the player. CHANGE - Modifications to the village loot item spawn list. CHANGE - Increased perish time of raw and baked potatoes to 12 hours.
ADDED - 2 new game settings-- these may be changed when loading a game as well as on the start of a new save.
1) By default a month takes 60 real time minutes but players can now adjust that time to suit their game play style. 2) Players can now toggle between playing with all 4 seasons, only winter or only summer. Please note that choosing "Only Winter" means you cannot fish, as the water will remain frozen.
Bug Fixes:
BUGFIX - Dead Scorpion would sometimes read "Harvest Fox". BUGFIX - Under the hood Errors for Patrolling AI in the AI combat component. BUGFIX - All Doors now have a nav blocker do ensure no more lag when opening/closing doors. BUGFIX - Adding an inner half wall on top of the full inner wall would casue the half wall to destroy. BUGFIX - Various adjustments to the building systems alignment of parts. BUGFIX - Some french translation fixes. BUGFIX - Animals will no longer catapult players in the air when bumping into them.
CHANGE - Cement Half Wall changed to a Brick Half Wall. CHANGE - Health and Stamina maximum increased from 200 to 300. Players can increase these by eating advanced foods such as Meat Stews and Fruit Salads. CHANGE - Quite a few have been asking me to look at the control panel widget and identify which components are actually running or not. I have added some text colors and check boxes to identify them. CHANGE - Another popular demand has been to allow the drying racks to be placed on foundations also. At first I thought the outdoor air should be required to dry the meats but after getting many requests for it to be placed indoors also, I have changed my mind. CHANGE - Increased oxygen depletion time, can stay under water for longer.
Bug Fixes:
BUGFIX - Dying while drowning was causing player to keep drowning even after death and resapwn on bed. BUGFIX - When loading a game with a Horde Night active, the amount of vambies left to kill would read something like "5 of 0 left to kill" BUGFIX - Decreased FPS when interacting with some crafting stations. This mini update introduces Steam Cloud and the completion of a few things i was working on for V9 that I had not completed yet.

ADDED - Stone Grinder. This grinder runs on Bio Fuel or Oil Cans and can sharpen your iron and steel weapons and tools. To sharpen your items means to fix and regenerate their durability.
Build Recipe:
10 x Small Stones 12 x Planks 6 x Iron Ingots 6 x Mechanical Parts
Menu and UI changes:
I will be slowly modifying menus and UI's over the next few updates. I wont spend much time discussing these changes but will post a few images here and there.
Bug Fixes:
BUGFIX - Some German translation fixes to the waterhouse. BUGFIX - When loading V9 for the first time, some items dropped would float in the air and not drop to the ground. BUGFIX - When killing Horde Vambies, sometimes the count of how many left was not updating properly. This would result in more Vambies spawning in and showing a negative number of Vambies left to kill.
Other Additions and Changes:
ADDED - STEAM CLOUD... Many in the community have been asking for steam cloud to be added/enabled.
Please report any bugs to the bug report section here on Steam. When possible please form one thread for each bug versus multiple threads for the same issue- it helps keep the community information together.

Vambies and Animals
CHANGE - Vambie movement on slanted terrain.
In the current game, V8.0, Vambies can walk/run over steep cliffs and landscapes. For 9.0 I have reduced degree of slope they are able to walk/run on-- they will no longer be able to step on large boulders/cliff sides in most cases. Players will be able to created elevated bases that vambies (for the most part) can no longer reach.
Player: Players can step up or walk up terrain/cliffs of 45 degrees. Vambies: Vambies can step up or walk up terrain/cliffs of 55 degrees. (Previously 95 degrees)
CHANGE - AI will no longer enter water - applies to both humanoid and animals. With this change water bases will not be directly impacted by enemy AI, instead they will wait at the shore for the player.
CHANGE - Crocodile health increased from 200-300, damage inflicted on the player from 25 to 50 per hit.
CHANGE - Bear health increased from 200-300, damage inflicted on the player from 25 to 35 per hit.
CHANGE - Aggro & Alarm range of animals reduced by 50% when crouched. This means that aggressive animals will start to chase you from further away if not crouched. Furthermore, non-aggressive animal will retreat from further away if not crouched. (This does not apply to birds)
ADDED - Some Vambies are now equipped with a knife and can throw it as a projectile. They are only equipped with one knife, so one projectile per Vambie.
ADDED - Another new Vambie behavior, they now have the capability to dodge melee attacks.
ADDED - Large Scorpions:
Scorpions added in caves. They do very little damage but can make you bleed or get infected.
CHANGE - Can now rotate walls and doors with mouse wheel. CHANGE - Can now add doors to the interior door frames.
CHANGE - I have removed the roof dividers on most roof sections, I just prefer the look this way. ADDED - Because of the change in roof dividers, I have created a roof cap/divider to replace what was removed for players who preferred the old way. It is also needed for slanted roof sections.
Villages and Techs:
ADDED - 2 new techs blueprints added. Circular Sawbench BP and Water House BP. For any save files created before this update, I need to respawn all the Tech BPs again so that a restart is not required. Players will have to visit all the villages again to find the 2 new ones. Any techs you already have will still show as learnt but in your travels to find the new ones, you will also find the old ones.
ADDED - I have added 3 more villages on the map, so now a total of 6. With a total of 12 Tech books to be found now, 2 will spawn per village.
CHANGE - Loot in towns will now respawn every 10 ingame days. What ever loot was there will despawn and all new loot will respawn. If that 10th day comes, loot will not respawn during runtime or a lag would occur. So to fix that, only during the next game re load will this new loot get spawned in. If you are loading an already started game, all loot will be respawned.
Game Options:
ADDED - New game setting. Can now toggle head bobble on/off ADDED - New game setting. Can now modify player stats depletion rate. You now have the option between Slow, Normal or Fast depletion. Slow = 2 x slower than normal. Fast = 1.5 x faster than normal. ADDED - FOV Slider to the game video options. However, there is a narrow range from 85 to 100 degrees. ADDED - Celcius to Fahrenheit toggle option. (Temperature Type) ADDED - Advanced AI customization. Players can now disable/enable specific animal types. You can also adjust their HP, damage dealt per hit and how much meat is dropped when harvested. There are a couple of settings also for Vambies, you can customize their HP and damage dealt. These settings can be adjusted for both new games and loaded games. Default values are mentioned via a tooltip when hovering over each setting option.
Other changes and additions:
ADDED - Steel Spear. Can be crafted on the Advanced Workbench. Slightly more damage dealt but a huge increase in durability. ADDED - Steel Spear Tip. (used in the crafting recipe of the steel spear)
ADDED - Players have for a while now been asking for a way to label their storage chests. Well this is now possible. When interacting with the chests, a text box will be visible for players to type in a description.
CHANGE - Another popular demand, can now stack Ingot selves.
CHANGE - Bone Shards crafting station changed from the Advanced Workbench to the regular Workbench. This means you can get Bone Spears much quicker. CHANGE - Bone Arrow crafting station changed from the regular workbench to the Advanced Workbench.
ADDED - Oxygen levels and depletion when under water. If oxygen level hits 0, the player will slowly start to lose health.
ADDED - New splint item to heal broken bones. Easy to craft 2 sticks and 5 plant fiber. ADDED - Fall damage and broken bones. Players will now experience fall damage and a chance at breaking a leg. The splint will heal that wound. When a bone is broken, players will walk slowly just like if they are encumbered or over weight.
CHANGE - More freedom with Spike Traps, can place these pretty much anywhere now.
CHANGE - The Log Cart can now travel on large boulders and cliffs. CHANGE - When storage chests are on the cart, the player will pull the cart rather than push it. Visibility was an issue when chests were added to the cart. If there are logs or stone crates, the cart will be like before this update, pushing it.
ADDED - 2 new bulk item recipes: ADDED - By popular demand, players can now ATL-RMB click wet and dry brick to and from the Brick Crate.
- Wet Brick X 10 - Medicated Bandages X 5
CHANGE - Moved all seed items in the itempedia from the others category to the food category. CHANGE - Moved the Wooden Shelter in the itempedia from the placeables category to the construction category. CHANGE - Mushrooms restore 5 health now instead of 10 before.
BUG FIXES:
BUGFIX - Grabbing the Log Cart while standing on it would sometimes catapult the player in the air. BUGFIX - Walls would not align properly when building levels with foundations. BUGFIX - Railing collision fix, arrows could not be fired through the poles. BUGFIX - Shooting arrows would sometimes not work if close to an AI and an arrow was stuck in the AI. BUGFIX - AI would cause lag in villages if players would go in a house and close all doors. BUGFIX - AI could walk through village doors in some circumstances. BUGFIX - Players would sometimes get stuck in chests or crafting stations with no way to exit.
Here is a running list of additions/changes that are completed so far for the upcoming V9.0 Update. This post will be updated every few days so be sure to keep an eye on it if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.
This update should be ready in about 2 weeks.

I have reworked something the last few days in regards to placement of foundations and placeables. I was going to only change this for V9 but I am seeing many of you now building on hillsides and cliff sides.
Cliffs and those large rocks in mineral extraction sites will now act as landscape and will allow placement of foundations and other placeables.
See below image for examples.
Also fixed:
BUGFIX - When moving Oil Extractors, any Oil Cans in its chest would disappear and it would stop extracting.
CHANGE - Log Cart drop. I have made changes to what checks I do now when dropping the cart. Initially I did not want to have players drop the cart if it was overlapping things like trees or on really steep slopes that would make it appear as if it was floating in air. I have since however revised this and will allow the cart to be dropped pretty much anywhere. The only things you will not be able to do is drop it while overlapping and building parts and placeables. You will however be able to drop it over trees, objects such as logs and stones etc.
Hi everyone, so I lied, i guess one more hotfix update before V9.0. lol
BUGFIX - The "Put Out Fire" confirmation buttons on the campfire were sometimes not aligned and hard to click. BUGFIX - Swapping weapons on the weapons rack would close the small HUD stats window when pressing G. The info window that show your health/stamina bottom right of your screen. BUGFIX - If any AI stuck under ice on load or when you sleep, I do a check and now delete them. BUGFIX - Could not snap fences on steep landscape.
CHANGE - Removed collision checks on fences, this will allow more freedom when placing them. You can now place them on foundations and clip through foundations. I also added X + Mouse wheel to increase or decrease height of fences when snapped. See below images for examples.
BUGFIX - Some caves would not allow the cart to enter it. BUGFIX - Cart would sometimes get stuck in caves. BUGFIX - Could not build Cart on steep landscape, the ground had to be almost entirely flat in order to build it.
CHANGE - More cave ore balancing. I found players would get too much Iron and Copper.
- Instead of 4 ores dropped, now only 3 will. - Removed copper from drops and replace it with Stone, or Clay. - Still a chance at Iron drops but much less. - Slightly reduce overall boulder spawns.
Basically now, you are guaranteed to get 2 Lead Ores and the third will randomly be a Stone, Clay or Iron Ore.
So unless something game breaking, this will be the last hotfix for V8. I will now start working on V9.0 and will post a progress report like usual here on steam once I get a few things done.
