Shop Titans - Zesty Hamburger
This update is slated for release next week!

Major Changes
Talent Trees
There have been some major changes to the content of some Talent Trees, specifically Questing and Crafting. Since the structure of the trees have changed, all points assigned to all three talent trees will be automatically refunded upon updating the game. You will then be able to reassign them for free wherever you wish.
More details on the nature of the changes are available further down below.

Keybinding Remaps

PC players now have access to a new option in the settings menu, allowing them to rebind hotkeys to their preference. As a bonus, it acts as a nice way to learn what the hotkeys actually are! Two harpies, one runestone.

As a related change, it is now possible to confirm (or more accurately, back out of) the Quality Celebration Craft screen by using the “Back” key (ESC by default).

XP Potion Menu

There is now a shortcut to an XP potion usage menu, available from the Hero details screen. It provides quick access to all your XP potions as well as the ability to use a bunch of them at the same time.

Skill Rerolls

When rerolling Hero skills, if you don’t like the new skill, you’ll now have the option to keep the previous one at the cost of 20 gems.

Minor Changes
  • Updated layout of the player profile.
  • It is now possible to refund a Talent Tree for Gems even if you have Refund tokens available.
  • Added a tooltip to resource icons (on the shop screen) to view their current resource regeneration speed.
  • Added sorting options to furniture menus.
  • The celebration screen when claiming a Content Pass task will now display the amount of the Content Pass currency you received.
  • When leveling up a Pet, only stats that actually increase will now be displayed on the level up celebration (e.g. an energy increase of +0 will no longer be shown).
  • Improved the “Kick from Guild” menu to be more descriptive.
  • Your quality preset now affects the amount of particles rendered by visual effects (the higher the quality, the more particles).
  • Disabling the “Enhanced VFX” setting now impacts more visual effects.
  • Added navigation arrows to the Level Up celebration screen when viewing rewards/unlocks.
  • Players banned from leaderboards will no longer take up a rank slot on the leaderboards nor contribute to their guild’s score for the sake of networth and event leaderboards.
  • The “Brand Loyalty” talent will no longer activate for customers asking for an out of stock item.
  • The Bunny pet* will be temporarily available for purchase with gems during the month.
*Spoilers: we'll be doing a Bunny skin giveaway soon!

Balance Changes
Polonia
In a previous update, we’ve increased the “range” of items available for Polonia to steal, although in practice this resulted in her finding less valuable things than before.

We’ve modified this range so that it now includes slightly more valuable things, and slightly less valuable things, resulting in more variety (and preventing a hyperfixation on the Stormrend bow) while averaging out about the same as before.

Hemma
Instead of draining the entire party, Hemma now drains a single ally per turn. The benefits she receives from this drain have been tripled, matching her previous power up from draining the whole party.

Dragon Invasion
Since the previous Dragon Invasion event had to be canceled due to technical issues, this event (scheduled for Sept 21st) will feature doubled rewards!

King Schedule
Regal, royal Reinhold will rejoin your ranks as a Guest Champion on September 18th, leaving on the 21st.

  • Fixed an issue where the player's profile picture would not update until performing a game restart.

  • Fixed locked Food items appearing in the Pet Feed menu.
  • Fixed subsequent completed tiers of a Content Pass task being erroneously highlighted with gold outline.

Talent Tree Update
Bartering Talent Tree
Warmart, Rogues ‘R Us and Spell, Robe & Beyond
These three nodes have a fairly unique interaction. Since they modify the odds of a customer class showing up, they can be useful if you like a particular Hero category (I want to run a Warrior shop, so I’ll invest in Warmart) or if you DON’T like a particular Hero category (No nerds allowed! I’ll invest in both Warmart and Rogues R’ Us!)

However, investing in all three of these skills essentially cancel out their effect, since all Hero categories are now equally as likely to show up (much as if you didn’t unlock those skills in the first place). To prevent user error, the third skill of this trio will be locked whenever you unlock the other two.

Enchantment Establishment
Now applies its Surcharge Value Bonus to the enchantments on the item, rather than the item as a whole. In exchange, the maximum bonus has been increased to +20%.

Crafting Talent Tree
The Crafting Talent Tree is in a decent place and quite popular, but often criticized for its primary focus on various resources. While these nodes are still present, new nodes have been added to give crafting specialists a special edge that no one else has.

Reinhold’s Favored
This new node, appearing roughly in the middle of the tree, grants bonuses to Favor earned during the King’s Caprice event. This node is optional (e.g not necessary to progress further into the tree) so you can skip it if this event is a mere speedbump to your guild.

Flawless Process
This node has been merged with its brother, Common Sense. You can spend two points to get the benefits of both. This freed up space for…

Sigil Vigil
This node greatly multiplies the results of Sigil and True Sigil fusion (up to double). It’s perfect if you’re hanging around Tier 11-12 or simply wish to sell them on the market. It is located on the branch alongside Flawless Process and Energy Infusion.

Ether Containment & Top Security
These two nodes (Ether and Jewel capacity) have been merged into one, Exotic Hoarder. It otherwise behaves the same, so you get more bang for your buck.

Serene’s Blessing & ♪Fey Friend♫
Like the above, these two nodes were merged into one, Mystical Friendship.

Duplication Glitch
A simple but powerful addition for crafting specialists, this node grants a Multicraft chance bonus to all items.

Legendary Craftsmanship
Located at the end of the Crafting Tree, this node increases the chance to craft Epic and Legendary items. We’re talking 3x here, so this ain’t no joke.

Questing Talent Tree
The Questing Talent Tree has received a fairly big shakeup to make it more interesting while also removing “trap” node combinations.

Common Farmer
This node has been merged with its brothers, Unusual Ingredients and Refined Tastes. It now simply increases the quantity of all quest components found.

Treasure Hunters
Functionally unchanged, but is now a starter node alongside Common Farmer.

Booster Refunder
The third Quest tree starting node. It grants a chance to refund Boosters used during quests. The refund appears as a quest reward (but does not replace any other reward), so you do need to succeed in the quest for the refund to work.

Defenders of the Kingdom
Similar to the Reinhold’s Favored node, this grants you bonus Airship Power (and thus event progress) during Dragon Invasion. It applies to both donated items and Heroes on the airship. This node is optional.

Raiders of the Lost City
The last of the “Event Booster” trio, this node increases Pure Gold found during the Lost City of Gold event. It is also optional.

Artifact Takers
Hidden behind Raiders of the Lost City is an extra bonus. This node allows Lost City of Gold quests to drop small quantities of LCOG components (typically 1-2). The type of component dropped matches the chest and key found in that difficulty. (e.g a quest that drops Luxurious Chests will drop Golden Artifacts)

While components dropped during the regular quests are somewhat minimal, LCOG bosses drop a more significant amount, especially when boosted by Sia, Loot Boosters, and/or the Sia’s Touch talent.

Singular Focus/Packrat Method
These nodes have been removed. Although it allowed players to better “customize” the rewards they wanted to see, they also stepped on each other's toes and could completely cancel out the effect of other nodes.

The following node is a different take on the spirit of those nodes.

No Stone Unturned
Basic quests have (approximately) 75% chance to give out a bonus reward, such as an equipment bundle or runestones. This node steadily increases these odds, up to 100%!

Shiny Only
In addition to making quality items Flawless, further investment in this node also increases the tier of these items, as well as the chance of finding Epic and Legendary items instead.

Freyja’s Prayer
The rest speed bonus is now general, instead of only affecting “dead” Heroes.

Roadside Wholesale
Now also grants a portion of that item’s merchant XP value. Keep in mind that some items, such as components and chests, have no XP values in the first place.

For technical reasons, this XP gain cannot trigger an actual player level up, XP from this source will always cap at one XP short of the next level.

Extra Questy
Is now found earlier in the tree, next to Roadside Wholesale.

On the Edge
If Extreme quests are where you feel most at home, this node provides an additional bonus to Rest Time and Quest Time when running them.

Nemesis Returns
Found at the end of the quest tree, this node grants a chance for regular quest bosses to immediately respawn after being defeated.

This updated is slated for release next week!

New Content
New Champion

Bjorn and Bamham have joined the city! This orc and boar duo acts as one and specializes in Flash Quests. Not only do they make the party extra strong while in a Flash quest, they also allow an extra attempt per Flash Quest! You’ll definitely want to take this pair along to maximize your Flash Quest rewards.

Bjorn (and his buddy Bamham) will be visiting the shop of Shopkeepers of level 35 or higher.

Content Pass
To celebrate the release of this new Champion, we’re doing things a bit differently.
Instead of a Champion offer* to hire the Champion early, we’ll be running a Bjorn Content Pass. The full content pass contains enough Bjorn Tokens to hire Bjorn (and get a few ranks in). The free portion also grants some Tokens to get you started.

This Content Pass features no new exclusive content, but does include a variety of Antiques and various other rewards. New to this pass, it includes an extra Hero slot if you haven’t unlocked all of them yet.

The Bjorn Content Pass will run for 2 weeks, starting on August 8th and ending August 23rd. It is available to players of level 35 or higher. Much like the previous Content Pass, there is the exclusive Explorer title available to unlock for players who manage to complete every task.

*That offer will still be available later for people who may have missed out on the Content Pass

Minor Changes
Suggest
Currently, when suggesting an item to a customer, items that closely match the item currently desired by the customer are cheaper to suggest. For example, suggesting a Superior Vorpal Sword to a customer that wishes for a Vorpal Sword, (very cheap), or a different sword to that same customer (rather cheap).

The rules have been modified to always remember the customer’s first requested item. If the customer first requested a Sword, but you suggest a Mace, further suggestions will still favor Swords (rather than maces).

Other Minor Changes
  • The Zero Waste and Crafter’s Trick talents (chance to not consume resources/components when crafting) now play an audio cue when they trigger.
  • Quest Talents now display a visual cue on the quest reward screen when their effects trigger.
  • Reward tracker for guild events (e.g. Lost City of Gold, Dragon Invasion, etc) will now focus to the end of the tracker when the event is completed.
  • When Champions request an additional food sale, both sales will trigger the Champion Coin reward screen to better communicate the fact that you’re getting double coins out of the deal.
  • Chests on the chest opening screen are now sorted in a more meaningful manner.
  • Energy from visiting guildmates will now be granted immediately upon claiming it.
  • Both halves of a Mega Pack (or the Mega Pack itself) now need to be purchased to trigger Flashback offers instead of just one part.
  • Items no longer have to be in “go to rack” mode for Reinhold to consider them. This rule was highly obscure and led to much confusion. Items still need to be on racks for him to see them, though.
  • Added red notifications leading to the Talent Tree upon unlocking it.

Balance Changes
  • The King shop visit odds has been tweaked. While he is still limited to one visit per 24h, he will generally show up faster after that delay.
  • The Phoenix Tonic blueprint now has the Phoenix spirit affinity.
  • Champions can now request items up to Tier 8 (from 7). In exchange, they’ll more frequently ask for lower tier items (up to 3 tiers lower).

King Schedule
King Reinhold’s immense generosity has seen him fit to join your ranks temporarily, arriving on August 21st and leaving the 24th.

Bug Fixes
  • Customers coming in to sell you stuff no longer have a chance to activate the Brand Loyalty talent, causing them to surcharge YOU! How did you like the taste of your own medicine, shopkeepers?
  • Fixed an issue with Flawless quality visual effects on celebration screens.
  • Fixed several items not properly displaying their quality visual effects.
  • Fixed a few other visual effects that displayed strangely.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when a major event ended.

Coming Next
Talent Trees launched last month, and we’re happy to see everyone creating their own specializations! We’ve also been gathering feedback all this time and began preparations to act on it.

In the near future, we are looking into a small update to the Crafting Tree, adding a few extra goodies to give it a stronger identity for crafting specialists. The Questing Tree will also be receiving some love in the form of a significant overhaul.

Shop Titans - Zesty Hamburger
This update is slated for release next week!

New Content
Shopkeeper Talent Trees

Expert Shopkeepers rejoice! Your mercantile power is about to go up a notch!
Starting at level 42, players unlock the expansive Talent Tree mechanic, allowing shopkeepers to take their favored playstyle to the next level. Every level, you’ll be able to purchase a Talent point to unlock a new passive bonus. These bonuses are split into three different Trees, dedicated to the 3 core mechanics of Shop Titans : Bartering, Crafting and Questing.

Early Talents are nice and simple, such as bonuses to Energy and Resource Capacity. As you specialize further into a Talent Tree however, game changing abilities become available, like the ability to Suggest items to the king, or hire Heroes at higher starting levels!

Here are the three Talent Trees and some of their outstanding Talents:

Bartering

The sacred art of making big money. This talent tree focuses on shop interactions, typically involving Energy and visitors from the city. Some of the high end talents include:

Royal Advisor
Ability to suggest a different item to King Reinhold, at an increased Energy cost.

Enchantment Establishment
Small Surcharge value bonus for items with two enchantments.

Brand Loyalty
Customers have a small chance to automatically surcharge themselves without expending your Energy.

Crafting

The noble task of making stuff. This talent tree focuses on crafting, fusion and resources. Some of the high end talents include:

Energy Infusion
Allows the rushing of Fusions with Energy.

Flawless Process
Flawless fusions require one less Superior item as a component.

Craft Slot+
Gain an extra crafting slot. This slot exists outside of the regular Crafting Slot progression, so it works even if you already own all of them.

Questing

The age-old tradition of beating up monsters for their stuff. This talent tree focuses on questing and Heroes. Some of the high end talent include:

Titan Attunement
The Titan from the Tower of Titans event drops a Titan Soul when defeated. This is in addition to the Titan Soul available from the reward track.

We Be Lootin’
Allows Polonia to sometimes loot higher tier items. At max rank, this is guaranteed.

Key to Success
When a Key drops in a quest, there is a chance to find an extra copy of that key.

Talent Refund
Also known as “respec”, players are able to refund all Talent points spent on a tree to reassign them differently. This process costs gems, and refunds all points from a specific Talent Tree.

If we ever need to perform significant balance changes to a Talent Tree, free refunds will also be provided.

Minor Changes
  • We’ve updated a few visual effects to look better (quality crafts and enchantments in particular). Can you spot all the differences?
  • When fulfilling market requests, the quantity selector will no longer allow numbers higher than what you currently hold in your inventory.

Balance Changes
  • We’ve been told our Collection Book Reward extension wasn’t good enough. Two new rewards have been added (before the final Blueprint) to better smooth out the progression.
  • Increased the value of the Dire Kakivak spear as it was unusually low.
  • The tier of Quality items dropped in quests is now always at least as high as the tier of equipment bundles that could drop from the same quest.

King Schedule
King Reinhold will bolster your ranks as a Guest Champion on July 24th, staying until the 27th.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a scrolling issue in the Player Titles menu.
  • Fixed Fresh Spirit skill tooltip not mentioning its Rest Time Reduction effect.
  • Fixed missing Dragonmark description in inventory menus.
  • Fixed the Tower of Titans "Select Tower" button appearing green before the confirmation step.
  • Fixed the red notification persisting after claiming a reward and navigating using hotkeys in Dragon Invasion.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Prepare Airship" button would appear outside of the Full Moon event menu.
  • Fixed Familiars not being properly filtered out of the Market when supplying through the Dragon Invasion menu.
  • Fixed some janky code for the Powerful title where retired Heroes still counted towards the total.
  • Fixed an issue causing chat filters to not work.

Shop Titans - Zesty Hamburger
This update is planned for release this week!
Some of the changes listed have already gone live with a hotfix update we released earlier in the month.

New Content
Collection Reward Extension
Avid collectors can now work towards the highly prestigious Scepter of Ever-Wisdom, a mighty Tier 13 staff, alongside a few other rewards.

Extra Furniture Space
New Furniture Space Expansions and Basement expansions are now available.

New Fusions
Added new fusions for Platinum Chests and Platinum Bangles.

Minor Changes
  • To better match the timing of our events, the titles and badges for reaching the top of the leaderboards for Dragon Invasion, King’s Caprice and Lost City of Gold have had their duration reduced to 28 days, from 30.
  • When assigning a hero to the Airship in Dragon Invasion, it is now possible to long press on the hero card to open the hero's equipment menu.

Balance Changes
  • The Naughty or Nice List scroll no longer requires the Magical Mistletoe as a precraft. This made sense back when they were sold as a bundle, but when bought separately as antiques, it sucks! It now instead requires Iron Pine Cones.
  • Reduced the gold cost to unlock the Void Dimension quest to 3G (down from 4.5G)

King Schedule
His Majesty shall take up the mantle of Guest Champion from June 19th until June 22nd.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the Guild XP Boost not applying to fusions.
  • Fixed Ascension Track rewards not triggering tooltips when tapped on.
  • Fixed an issue where changing your avatar's shoe color would change its skin color as well.
  • Fixed an issue where Flash Quest event remaining time did not match on Quest Card and Quest Setup menu.
  • Fixed an issue where the final dragon of a completed Dragon Invasion was not properly shown as stunned when defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where Fusions with item components prioritized enchanted versions.

Coming up next
Virtual Tamas teased a big feature back in late March, but it needed more work and we took the difficult decision to delay it. It’s happening next month though, Tamas promise!
Shop Titans - Zesty Hamburger
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where Energy could sometimes go negative after a failed small talk.

    • This behavior can still happen with On The House! Tokens. This is intended to prevent abuse.
  • Fixed a few cases of disconnects related to special events starting and ending.
  • Fixed the Gold and Gem button exchanging position on the building invest screen.

This update is slated for release next week!

New Content
Spacefarer Content Pass
New extraterrestrial content has come to earth… in peace! Complete tasks and earn Stars to unlock new high-tech blueprints, such as the powerful Plasma Saber and the CosmOs Cereals - a breakfast staple for every table!

New in this event, players who fully complete the Content Pass (yes, including the golden tasks) will receive the exclusive Astronaut title to show off.

The Spacefarer Content Pass will be available from May 16th to June 12th.

Lost City of Gold
With the introduction of Tier 13, Gold items now sport a new look. A platinum one!

After almost 50 golden Mayincatec items, this new collection sports a new sleek Platinum look, a material dwarves are particularly fond of. Beyond this shiny new appearance, these items still sport a boosted price tag and require an exclusive component, the Platinum Bangle. As an extra bonus, these items do not require Essence.

Platinum items are available in the Platinum Chest using a Platinum Key. They can be found in the latest difficulty of the Lost City of Gold dungeon.

Major Changes
Lost City of Gold
Lost City of Gold now has a new difficulty 11! Expect greater quantities of Pure Gold, as well as Platinum Chests and Keys!

To make space for this new difficulty, Difficulty 8 was retired, and its Pure Gold rewards were given to 7 with no increase to its difficulty. The old Difficulty 9 is now labeled 8, and so on. Make sure to look twice before sending parties!

King’s Caprice
The reward list for the King’s Caprice has been extended. Guilds can now work harder for a grand prize of 125 Antique Tokens. Some earlier token rewards have also been increased with no change in difficulty.

To make space for the new rewards, a few old rewards have been merged together.

Antique Store
A selection of very old content now obeys a new restriction before showing up in the Antique Store. These items will only show to players whose account is 8 months or older.

The reason behind this change is because our Twin Packs currently focus on very high tier (now Tier 13!) which is well beyond newcomers. To these players, we would like to show some of our older Twin Packs, back when they featured lower tier content appropriate for them.

Players with an account 8 months or older are completely unaffected by this change. Their Antique Store will behave as usual.

The list of content affected by this change can be seen here.

Minor Changes
  • Blueprints in the Antique Store now display their stats when inspected.

Balance Changes
  • The Favor value of Tier 13 items has increased.

King Schedule
The King will be available as a Champion from May 29th until June 1st.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where a locked item could appear on Racks if an enchantment on it was destroyed while it was on a Rack.
  • Fixed issue where guilds could sometimes have multiple guildmasters.

    • Guilds with multiple guildmasters will see all guildmasters demoted to members, save for the eldest member among them.
  • Fixed another rare case where Flash Quests could cause a crash.
  • Fixed further Day Trader title issues.
  • Fixed an issue causing Flashbacks to sometimes showcase packs older than intended.
