Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) 40th Anniversary Edition - Ink
The Sim Update 10 public beta has been active for about a week now, and so far we have received lots of valuable feedback that will influence upcoming future SU10 beta builds during the testing period. On behalf of the dev team, thank you to everyone who has been reporting issues with the beta build. This is extremely helpful to us as we prepare for the full release of SU10. If you would like to participate in this public test, you can find instructions on how to join here. Please note this opportunity is to provide and collect feedback on the current state of the build.
Additionally, we released updated versions of the Beechcraft Staggerwing and Gee Bee Model Z and R-2 earlier this week. You can download the new versions from your Content Manager, and you can read the release notes here.

Our Sim Update 10 Beta is now available for download! Our main focus for this beta is:
• Verify stability and performance improvements • Ensure that the release notes are accurate • Identify regressions that may have taken place due to code changes • Provide an opportunity for 3rd party developers to test their products in a Beta environment
Please remember this opportunity is for those who wish to provide feedback on the current state of the build, this is not for a sneak preview of the final build that will be released in August. Our goal is to fix any regressions you report as quickly as possible but please note that some bugs may be prioritized for a later update as we will not be able to fix every report found during the Beta window.
Please visit the Community Dashboard to find out what’s already logged in our database.
Generally speaking, don’t hesitate to report any significant regressions from the current live version using the Beta categories [link] (Instruments, ATC, Weather, etc…)
More information can be found on our official forums here.
How to join:
Open your Steam Library
Right-click Microsoft Flight Simulator
Click “Properties”
Click “Betas”
Select “flight_sim_beta – Sim Update 10”
If you would like to exit the pre-release test before it ends and revert back to the live build, follow these instructions:

Great news: the Sim Update 10 Beta is almost ready! We are finalizing beta release notes, prepping the forums, and readying the test build for a target release of tomorrow, July 8th, at 8am PT (1500Z). The Sim Update 10 Forum Feedback category will be made public at that time, and you will find more information on how to join the beta, our overall goals, what kind of feedback we are looking for, and targeted feedback surveys. We look forward to your feedback!
In addition, we plan to end the Xbox Stability Test as soon as Sim Update 10 Beta is live. All Xbox users who are currently in the Xbox Stability Test will be automatically transitioned to the Sim Update 10 Beta build within a few hours of the Sim Update 10 Beta going live. More details and directions on how to leave the build if you do not wish to participate will be outlined in the information provided via the forums tomorrow. Thank you again to those who joined this testing experience. The team is evaluating the data in order to provide solutions in a timely manner. We found this test to be very successful, and we are looking to run similar stability initiatives in the future as we work to improve the overall sim.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition
A free upgrade to all current MSFS players launching in November 2022.
New additions include the introduction of helicopters and gliders to MSFS and the return of some fan-favorite planes from FS2004 and FSX such as the Douglas DC-3, Airbus A310, de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver, Wright Flyer, and — in partnership with the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum — the Ryan NYP (“Spirit of St. Louis”).
D77-TC Pelican
Available now as a free addon from the in-sim Marketplace, MSFS players can fly the iconic dropship from the Halo franchise. We collaborated with 343 Industries, the developers of Halo Infinite, to simulate this famous science fiction aircraft in the most realistic way possible.
You can read more about the 40th Anniversary Edition and Halo Pelicanhere. Additionally, on June 14th, we released the next entries in our World Update and Local Legends series.
World Update X: USA and US Territories
Available now as a free addon from the in-sim Marketplace.
Includes new photogrammetry cities, four new hand-crafted airports, 87 new Points of Interest (POIs), plus new landing challenges, discovery flights, and bush trips.
More information about World Update X can be found here.
Local Legend V: Beechcraft Model 18
Developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator by Carenado, the “Twin Beech” is a robust and versatile plane designed by American aircraft manufacturer Beechcraft in the 1930s.
Available now from the in-sim Marketplace for USD $14.99.
More information about the Beechcraft Model 18 can be found here.
We will soon begin public testing of our next major update, Sim Update 10, which is currently slated for release in August.
