■ Solo Mode Normal Match (Updated) - Re-added Normal match to Solo mode.
Normal match matches you with opponents according to your skill level like Ranked matches, but unlike ranked matches, there will not be a designated rival and the results of the match do not affect Tier points.
■ Tutorial Mode - Tutorial mode was added.
> You can go through the tutorial if you enter the game for first time after creating an account.
> An “adorable” Black Spirit will guide you through the basic controls.
> The tutorial is skippable if you don’t need it.
It is difficult to make a tutorial when the game continues to quickly and constantly evolve.
We believe the game’s systems are in a more established state now, so we’ve added a basic game tutorial which covers basic combat and controls. We are planning to add a second tutorial soon for objectives, such as the Ancient Altars and Jump Gates. Afterwards, we will also be adding more in-depth tutorials for each Hero.
■ Heroes - Reverted the Super Armor for rolling to Invincibility.
Last week, while the change from invincibility to Super Armor when rolling was simple, it was a major change.
There was a lot of negative feedback regarding this and we agree with many of them.
We had initially changed rolling due to the many unforeseen ways it was being used, such as dodging Hungry Black Spirits without much consequence in the Dark Fog and neutralizing Dark Shift used in emergencies.
In other words, we felt this playstyle (hiding in Dark Fog, etc.) didn’t match our intended game flow; thus, we implemented the change last week. However, we agree with the player feedback that this change ruined previously established gameplay, so we have brought back the invincibility effect to rolling.
Instead, to counter the unintended Dark Fog plays, players who enter the Dark Fog will periodically be displayed on the map of other players as a way to hint at their whereabouts and counter surprise Ancient Altars/Ancient Weapons.
We will continue to experiment, but we are always open to changes, so please give us your continued support and feedback.
We also sincerely apologize to all our players for the inconvenience in the past week.
- Added a new “defeat” visual effect to appear instead of previous Super Armor visual effect when you defeat a Hero.
■ Hero Movement and Jump Improvements - Fixed so that the normal jumping animation is shown when jumping over low elevation objects such as stairs instead of the climbing over wall animation.
- Fixed an issue where animation of climbing over isn’t shown when attempting to jump near tall obstacles while walking or running first
- Reduced the time it takes for below heroes to quickly switch to another action after falling from elevation from 1.9 seconds to 0.7 seconds
> Jordine Ducas, Yeonhwa, Gerhard Shultz, Orwen, Badal the Golden, Goyen, Venslar, Tagahl, Lahn (For Herawen, Ahon Kirus, Haru, Igrid, and Gorgath, the time it takes to switch to another action is same as before at 0.7 seconds. )
- Fixed an issue where swaying animation is shown instead of moving when you are near a tall cliff
- Fixed an issue where unnatural motion is shown when using Sprint
- Increased basic attack damage by 9.8%
Yeonhwa has been struggling to perform since her Clairvoyance (2) nerf. To match Yeonhwa’s original concept of “a hero with strong basic attacks”, we have increased her basic attack damage.
Resonating Shadow (2) - Increased damage by 23.8% (Reverted to before August 20 update.)
- Increased skill range (Reverted to before August 20 update.)
> Level 1~3 : Increased by 11.1%
> Ultimate Level: Increased by 17.6% Since rolling has been reverted to how it was before August 20 update, we have also brought back the original stats of Resonating Shadow (2). However, the Dark Mark (1) cooldown increase from August 21 update is not related to rolling so there will be no change to that.
Rock Smash (2) - Fixed an issue where the grab damage and the jump smash attack damage of the skill were different
- Changed so that stamina will decrease by 10% when using the jump smash attack of the skill
- Reduced overall skill casting speed Shultz’s buff from last week seemed insufficient so we have buffed Rock Smash (2) further.
- Added stiffness effect to the first hit of basic attack due to change in hit count from 3 to 1. The overall damage stays the same.
- Fixed an issue where sound effect is not heard when sprint jump attack hit is successful
- Changed so that the effect for reaching certain AP and DP is not shown when using stealth.
- Fixed an issue where Haru’s jump direction changes mid-jump when pressing W while side jumping (A or D + Space)
We fixed a bug that was discovered after last week’s update where Stiffness wasn’t applied properly in the first hit of Haru’s basic attack.
- Fixed an issue where you cannot use Dark Shift (Q) or Teleport (E) while using Sprint
- Reduced HP consumption of Iron Pulverizer, Corpse Cut, Grave Digger skills by 20%
Goyen used to be a hero that showed incredible power in exchange for HP but now the HP cost seemed a bit excessive due to nerfs on his skills and combos. Therefore we have decreased the HP consumption to make him easier to play.
Golden Gate (4) - Fixed an issue where damage buff wasn’t applied when using another skill immediately after using Golden Gate with 1 stack or higher
- Fixed an issue where you hit 3 quick consecutive times when using jump attack during Endurance Stance
- Fixed an issue where you attack 3 times in rapid succession when pressing S+Space while holding LMB
- Fixed an issue where you continue to hold the chest if you move while obtaining a red grade gear during Endurance Stance
After her buffs last week, Venslar has been performing better but we fixed a bug where you consecutively attack too quickly while in Endurance Stance.
Death's Crossing - Reduced delay after skill usage by 30%. You can now combo skills faster than before.
Hell Flower - Changed so that you move forward for an instant when using the skill We have increased Lahn’s overall combo potential so that she can land combos more easily.
- Reduced basic attack range by 21%
- Reduced sprint dash attack range by 25%
- Changed the effect of sprint dash attack successful hit from 0.1 second stiffness to 0.7 knockback
Earth Alchemy Stone (RMB) - Reduced skill range by 11%
- Reduced HP of summoned rock from Earth Alchemy Stone from 5000 to 2500
- Fixed an issue where HP of summoned rock from Earth Alchemy Stone increases with Rock Manipulation (1)’s skill level
Rock Manipulation (1) - Reduced the knockback duration upon successful hit from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds
- Changed so that the rocks deal damage even while flying
Rockwind (3) - Added 8 seconds of 15% movement speed buff when using the Ultimate level of the skill
Gorgath is very strong but we noticed that he was espeically strong when playing defenstively against melee opponents so we have nerfed Earth Alchemy Stone (RMB) and Rock Manipulation (1). However, to encourage more aggressive plays, we buffed sprint dash attack and the Ultimate level of Rockwind (3) which was rarely used as the Ultimate skill.
There was a previous bug where the HP of rocks summoned from Earth Alchemy Stone (RMB) increased with the skill level of Rock Manipulation (1) so it was impossible to break them. We have fixed this issue so now you will be able to target the rocks and destory them.
- Increased the basic attack damage by 8.3%
- Fixed an issue where you change to noncombat mode after falling from an elevation
Shield of Revenge (RMB) - Fixed an issue where guard effect is maintained even when using other skills or kick (F) after using the skill
Avalanche (1) - Fixed an issue where guard was applied momentarily when using the skill
- Fixed an issue where if you reach Ultimate Level of Avalanche (1), Altar Destroyer (4) did not quickly connect after using Avalanche (1)
Altar Destroyer (4) - Fixed an issue where guard stance was maintained even when there is no guard gauge available when using the skill We fixed several bugs with Igrid’s Avalanche (1). Also her damage seemed a bit lackluster so we buffed her basic attack.
■ Monsters - Changed the name of the Shadow Elite Knights to “Shadow Troll.”
- Defeated Shadow Trolls that spawn outside of the Dark Fog at the early stages of a match will now drop blue-grade or better armor.
- Reduced the chance Shadow Trolls will spawn in the forest left of Heidel and changed Shadow Trolls to spawn in Pumpkin Farm region.
- Fixed the Shadow Lord – Varigord to no longer roar and push back when it first discovers a Hero.
■ Specter Spawn Adjustments - Specters that spawned at approximately 11 min. 30 sec. will no longer spawn.
> Specters will spawn near the Blackstar at approximately 3 min. 30 sec., 5 min. 30 sec., 7 min. 30 sec., and 9 min. 30 sec. for a total of 4 spawns.
- Added an icon for the Blackstar (located in the center of the Fog) to the World Map and minimap.
In mid/later stages of a match, specters often got in the way of players who needed to be focusing, so we’ve removed the specter spawn at 11 min. 30 sec. and changed the map to display the location of the Blackstar (where specters are spawned).
■ Dark Fog - Deaths as a result of damage from being inside the Dark Fog (not damage from Hungry Black Spirits) will now also count as kills to the player that dealt the most damage in the past 5 seconds. These kills will now appear in the Kill Log UI on the left-side of the screen.
- Players inside the Dark Fog will now periodically be displayed on the maps of all other players. (This includes players who are inside the Dark Fog with the Mountain Stoneback Crab buff.)
- Fixed an issue where movement speed increase buff icon is overlapped outside of dark fog
You’ve probably had the confusing experience of missing a kill (and resulting buffs) from an opponent who dies from the Dark Fog damage after a drawn-out brawl. Now, players dying from Dark Fog damage will be counted as kills to the player who was recently battling them.
Additionally, we made a change to periodically display the location of players in the Dark Fog on the maps of all other players as a countermeasure against hiding in the Dark Fog. With this, players will have to encounter an appropriate amount of risk if they want to move through the Dark Fog.
■ Jump Gates
- Fixed an issue where using a Jump Gate sporadically caused it to deactivate without you “jumping”.
- Fixed an issue where arrow attacks used near the Jump Gate caused you to be blocked by an invisible wall.
- Changed the Jump Gate to launch (jump) all players when multiple players enter the Jump Gate at the same time. Along with fixing a long-time bug, we’ve added a new rule to the Jump Gate that allows multiple players to “Jump” together when entering the Jump Gate at the same time to let you stick together in Team matches and other future team modes.
■ Sparring Grounds - Changed the Sparring Grounds to give the following gear upon entering it.
> Dragon Slayer Main Weapon, Liverto Sub-Weapon, Lemoria Armor, Lemoria Helmet, Lemoria Shoes, and Lemoria Gloves
> 13 Skill Points
- Added a skill reset button to the upper-left corner of the Sparring Grounds that allows you to reset your skills by clicking it.
- Changed King of the Hill to give the following gear upon entering it.
> Dragon Slayer Main Weapon, Liverto Sub-Weapon, Lemoria Armor, Lemoria Helmet, Lemoria Shoes, and Lemoria Gloves We’ve seen a consistent flow of requests to improve the Sparring Grounds. As a result, we’ve changed the Sparring Grounds and King of the Hill mode to start you off with a total of 13 Skills Points and more appropriate gear to help you experiment and practice.
■ Fixes and Improvements - Fixed an issue where the rival status message was displayed when the Red Dragon's Offering was acquired.
- Changed the list in the results screen to display the nickname of rivals in yellow.
- Lowered the target hitbox of chests to fix an issue where projectiles would be blocked by chests.
- Improved some unnatural AI Bot animations.
- Fixed an issue where you would collide with other Heroes when moving quickly while transformed as a Black Spirit.
- Added a title for achieving Master tier in the Beta Season.
- Changed the content of messages displayed by the Easy Anti-Cheat security solution so it is easier to understand.

■ How to Participate
“Event Cup-Asia" is held using the tournament entry system. In a tournament entry system, players consume “tickets” to enter a custom match room created for the tournament. There are Preliminary, Finals, and Special tickets and here are the details:
* Ticket Types 1) Preliminary ticket
- Ticket given to all players to enter the preliminary round of the tournament
- Preliminary ticket to enter the “Event Cup-ASIA" preliminary round will be sent to all accounts created in ASIA server before August 27 (Thurs) maintenance.
- Unused tickets will be deleted during September 3 (Thu) 2020 maintenance.
2) Finals ticket
- Ticket given to players who passed the preliminary round of the tournament to enter the final round of the tournament
- Unused tickets will be deleted during September 3 (Thu) 2020 maintenance.
3) Special ticket
- A ticket given to specific or all players to enter GM event matches or other special event matches
- If an event requires usage of this ticket, more details will be announced in a separate notice.
- Any special ticket in possession after the event ends will be deleted.

We’ve received a lot of feedback after the update yesterday. Especially since changing a basic game mechanic (rolling) of the game can have a massive impact, we wanted to bring this update as soon as possible to make changes to the game’s balance. We also wanted to quickly fix any factors that can negatively impact our players’ gameplay experience.
■ Heroes
Shield Charge (2) -Adjusted the time for the knockback effect to apply for the 1st hit from 1.5 seconds to 1.1 seconds. - Reduced lateral hitbox of the 1st hit by 14.3%. - The 2nd hit (stab) remains the same as before.
Spinning Slash (4) - Reduced the damage at all levels by 5.2%
There’s a lot of feedback saying that Jordine is too strong. Especially after the discovery of combo’ing Spinning Slash (4) after Shield Charge (2), so we’ve nerfed Shield Charge (2) and Spinning Slash (4).
Dark Mark (1) - Adjusted the skill cooldown time as follows. > Level 2: Before 6 sec. → After 6.5 sec. > Level 3, Ultimate Level: Before 4 sec. → After 5 sec.
Resonating Shadow (2) - Reduced the damage at all levels by 19.2%.
Due to yesterday’s range nerf of Resonating Shadow (2) looking insufficient, we’ve made an additional nerf today.
- Fixed an issue where the sprint attack dealt 36% increased damage.
Corpse Cut (2) - Fixed an issue where HP was not recovered when landing a hit.
Shield Throw (Endurance Stance - 1) - Fixed an issue where the Ultimate Level dealt less damage than Level 3.
■ Shadow Knights
- Defeated Shadow Knights will now drop at least green-grade gear.
We felt that Shadow Knights (which appear near towns) dropped gear that was too strong, so we’ve lowered the grade of gear they can drop.
■ Fixes and Improvements
- Reverted the Map screen (Tab) to the previous state before the August 20th (Thu) update. - Adjusted the display time for the rival status message from 3 seconds to 5 seconds. - If a promotion match is cancelled, the ranking page will no longer be displayed in the results screen.
We’ve reverted the new map as it had problems with poor readability and was incorrectly displayed. We will look into preparing a new map in a completely different way.
The maintenance is now finished, and you can now access the game.
