An update is now available on the public open “beta” branch.
The base-game scenario editor has been re-enabled in the beta. Scenario creators are encouraged to give the editor a test run, as some changes were made to the editor in preparation of the DLC release. Note that creating custom scenarios using the Raising Hell DLC content is not yet available, this is planned for after release of the DLC.
Warning: scenarios made on the open beta will not work for people playing on the release branch. Because of that, we have disabled publishing in this build. After release of the DLC in 2 weeks, you will be able to publish these scenarios to the workshop as usual.
We managed to exterminate several bugs based on reports from the previous beta update, special thanks to the testers that took on the fight!
If we broke stuff or you have feedback on the changes, please lets us know by using the in-game feedback form (opened by pressing F11 while in the game), or on our discord’s beta channel.

Attention, citizens of the Federation! Our mission to keep you informed continues as we explore the depths of the upcoming Raising Hell DLC, revealing new forces joining the battle for Gehenna. For protection of its people and assets, the corporation that exploits Gehenna for its valuable resources has relied on contracted mercenaries. These are tough and battle hardened individuals, often with a background of military experience or have been forged by the unforgiving conditions of isolated human colonies.
Frag Mercs In our continuing coverage of the Raising Hell DLC, we introduce you to a variety of mercenary unit types. Deploying mercenary units requires Funds: a new unit cap that works similar to War Support but separates Mobile Infantry and Mercenary unit types. For an optimal army composition, you’ll have to find a good mix of both. Today we will highlight one of the fresh additions to the mercenary roster: the Frag Mercs.
A Flexible Weapon The Frag Mercs are equipped with a unique weapon capable of toggling between firing fragmentation shells in close combat and launching grenades for longer distance engagements. The former is very effective to pin down waves of Arachnids, while the explosive grenades provide indirect fire support and excel at taking out armored enemies and structures.
Minelaying Abilities Elite Frag Mercs gain the ability to deploy proximity mines. You can choose between either Frag Mines - which set off a consecutive series of charges when triggered - or Fire Mines - which do what it says on the box: bursting into a blazing fire. When placed correctly, both mines can have a major impact on the outcome of a defensive engagement.
As we prepare for the release of the Raising Hell DLC, stay tuned to FedNet for more exclusive updates on the front lines of this relentless war. The Federation remains steadfast in its resolve to protect its interests and citizens, no matter the cost.

We now join our troopers live from the surface of what our brave colonists call “Gehenna”. It is here, on this unforgiving hellscape of molten lava and volcanic activity that the brave men and women of the Mobile Infantry beat back the Arachnid threat.
But why fight for this uninhabitable rock? Orbiting above lies the critically vital Vilon Station. A true feat of human ingenuity, the station provides the Federation with access to the vast fuel extraction and refining industry on the planet's surface. Thus, the station is a nexus of trade between Kwalasha, other Federation colonies and Earth.
Breaking News - The battle for surface is heating up, but worry not, as our reporter is embedded with the new and formidable “Engineering Biped”. As you can see, this machine was originally designed for heavy industrial labor, welding, drilling and the like. However, a combat redesign by security forces have turned this machine into an effective defense against the Arachnid aggressor.
It’s not just close quarters combat which is the Bipeds forte, as it possesses the elite ability to drop a trail of fire. Activating this ability gives the bipedal vehicle a speed boost, allowing it to quickly lay down a barrier of flames that can stop a Bug attack from reaching vulnerable positions.
What is that? It appears to be one of the recently discovered Immolator Bugs! Scientists have yet to fully understand this endemic-to-Gehenna Arachnid, but comprehension of the enemy is not a requirement for its destruction! The heavy armor of the Engineering Biped is more than a match for this flame-spewing monster. But be careful troopers, this Bug has been known to make suicidal charges in its last desperate moments.
Scientists recommend that you keep your distance!
Federal Engineering is truly something to behold, but don’t get complacent troopers. Disturbing reports of a new kind of flying bug have just recently arrived, and it’s a dangerous one. Nicknamed the “Bomberbee”, this ugly abomination carries a payload of deadly acid - released when it suicide bombs its victims.
Our mechanized units are particularly vulnerable, so be sure to shoot down these threats quickly troopers!
That’s all from our live reporting for now, but if you would like to know more, why not volunteer to serve in the Mobile Infantry? Nobody knows when the next wave will be drafted, but some say it will most likely be in the fall. You’ll have your chance to experience this action and excitement for yourself.
Keep a keen eye out, and you too could be a Citizen.
Will you be anywhere around London between September 14th to 16th? Then you might want to mark this on your calendar.
