Dear players of the Blackthorns arena: We sincerely apologize for the delay of the update, the large update we originally planned to launch at the end of June will be postponed until mid-July. This is mainly due to two reasons:
First of all, after we made a lot of new content and tested it, the performance of the test is not very satisfactory. We would like to ask a little more time to polish and improve some Details;
Secondly, we will add localization of five new languages after the update (respectively Italian, French, German , Spanish and Russian), and our translators will need time to supplement the translation of new content since the official release in order to provide a localized experience that is as complete as possible.
In general, we hope that the updated version 1.1 (we will both update 1.0 + 1.1 in the same time) will become a fairly complete and stable version, so we would like to ask for more time to polish the game carefully and optimize all the unsatisfactory details.
Therefore, the content of this update will be more abundant than any of our previous updates, and it will be worth your wait.
The following are the main contents of the major 1.1 update :
1) Multiple optimizations of UI and sound effects.
2) A new special arena : The temple of the god of war Gortus.
3) New post-challenge : Gortus' Endless Challenge.
4) Several new legendary weapons.
5) Several new monsters.
6) Add a new kind of side mission map.
7) New build template system : Some NPC gladiators will automatically use build template. (In addition to the current NPC champion, NPC gladiators will have a large number of powerful(epic) gladiators )
8) The AI trigger has been greatly improved.
9) Add a new plot mission.
10) New weapon skill and Genre : Martial arts and Monk ( Monk might need another week of time to import into the game)
11) New online leaderboard system: players can upload or download their own or other players' gladiator data while challenging other players' championships! (Half online mode)
12) A new DLC, including a new plot mission and a new plot competition. The final rewards are two sets of legendary armor symbolizing the goddess of victory, Alyanas, and the god of war, Gortus.
In addition to the above, other interesting content will be added.

Improvement:
1) Slightly reduced the chance of triggering gladiator fall in love event.
2) Added a shelving button to the handling of some events. Now players could temporarily put challenges event, and side mission event on hold and processed at any time before the end of the round.
3) Monsters and players will no longer perceive each other through the door of the dungeon.
4) Fixed several localization errors.
Balance adjustment:
1) Now the friendship bonus and lovers bonus will also take effect in side missions.
2) Slightly weakened the damage of the orc master whirlwind attack.
3) All status skills are divided into combat stance and defensive stance
4) The effects of two combat state skills can only exist one at a time.

New content:
1) Added a new set of epic (purple) quality equipment- Assassin Set.
2) Added a " gladiators fall in love" event to the game. Through this event, your two gladiators may become lovers and enjoy a certain bonus in the battle.
Balance adjustment:
1) The upper limit of all resistances has been increased from 85% to 90%.
2) The actual dodge chance could exceed higher than 95%.
3) Cautious combat style's hit rate has been changed from 25% to 10 fixed value.
4) The dodge and block gained by the defense combat style have been changed from 25% to 10 fixed values.
5) The additional attributes of some equipment were balanced.
6) Reduced the amount of equipment and bonuses for challenges.
7) Reduced the money income of holding the competition.
8) The champion will no longer flee.
9) Changed the equipment of Russell Ron, Iron Arm and Jack Heartbreaker. Enhanced Jack Heartbreaker.
Weapon and Genre skills:
1) Fixed a bug where the marksman passive bonus was higher than the described value.
2) Fixed a bug where surpirse attack would also take effect when targeted by an opponent.
Block expert: Block Stamina cost reduction changed from 10/15/20% to 8/12/16%
Painpoint attack: Ignore the block now.
Dash Attack: Increased the range of hit determination.
2) Fixed a bug where the knockback arrow had a chance to knock the enemy back below the ground.
3) Fixed a bug that the socreboard will mistakenly display status as "death" after players defeat one of the legendary champion in a battle.
4) Fixed a bug where bow and archery sound effects were incorrect.
5) Fixed a bug that related to the Ossidell’s roots.
6) Fixed a bug when players click the main menu to start a new game, then click "ESC" will cause the main menu button to disappear.
7) Fixed a bug where pressing the ESC key to close the "holding competation" window would cause the prizes dragged in to be lost.
8) Fixed a bug where the Gladiator would always get resurrected during the rebellion event.
9) Fixed a bug that would prevent players return from the side mission.
10) Fixed the bug that the number of locked frames was invalid (Now only turning off vertical sync can lock the number of frames).
11) Fixed a bug where the player's gladiator might become an enemy during matches and side missions.
12) Fixed the bug that the Pratice training in Iron Man mode will be saved automatically, which will result in corrupting archive.
13) Fixed a bug where the gladiator get drifted when playing the victory animation.

Improvement:
1) Set the turning distance as a percentage instead of a specific value.
2) Now the game is set to 60 frames by default
3) The hate system has been adjusted, and it is now easier for characters to shift their targets when hatred grows.
4) After the unit dies, it will become a loot directly. Clicking on the loot tab will issue a pickup command.
5) The rotation range is changed to be displayed as a percentage of the attack distance.
6) The Amnesia potion will now also reset the skills in the user's skill shortcut bar.

2) The master of the deep: An octopus wizard who is good at ice magic.
New legendary equipment:
Executioner: Inflicts an additional 50% damage to enemies with less than 25% health.
Blade of the Twin Gods: When attacking with this weapon, there is a 35% chance to perform a "double attack", which will not only inflict twice the damage but also cause additional attack effect twice ( such as exposure weakness) to enemies.
Davis' sickle: The attack causes direct soul damage, ignoring all resistance.
Hans' pot lid: Players can use the shield as a weapon type, inflicting 15-20 points of basic damage, all melee attack attribute bonuses will be affected.
Storm chop: Whirlwind will be cast twice in a row.
Stone breaker: All bow and arrow skills damage increased by 15%.
These 6 legendary weapons can be obtained by completing extremely difficult treasure hunt side missions.
Add Orc Masters’ set as a reward for the Orc Masters Arena Challenge (players who have previously challenged the Orc Masters can challenge again)
Balance adjustment:
General:
1) Increased the reputation cost of holding a competition.
2) Modified the calculation method of the competition's reputation reward. Now the reputation of the game will be determined by the competition's level, number of participants and type of competition. The reputation gained by the competition is now a bit lower overall.
3) Increased the automatic calculation of win rate for all champions and reduced the gambling odds of the champion's team.
4) Slightly enhanced the orc domination of the final challenge of the Grand Game.
5) Reduced the turning speed of all gladiators.
6) The stamina cost of blocking is reduced from 125% damage to 100%.
7) The attack distance of all two-handed weapons has slightly increased overall.
8) The attack range of all bows and arrows is slightly reduced.
9) The damage of all weapons above the Rare (blue) level is reduced overall. The damage of all Legendary (Orange) and Epic (purple) weapons are decreased by 8%, and all Rare (blue) weapons are decreased by 5%.

12) Increased the dispatching win rate of the Venationes.
Monsters:
1) Reduced the damage of the Scorpion Lion.
2) Increased gargoyle's Health and resistance.
3) Increased Medusa's Health.
4) Slightly reduced the stone giant's Health.
Legendary equipment:
1) Wind whisper: The knockback effect is slightly reduced.
2) Smaragdus's squama: The chance of reflecting projectiles has been increased from 25% to 40%.
3) Fisherman's Disaster: Increased base damage, now the chance of adding bleeding effect is changed to 100%.
Weapon Skills:
One-handed weapon:
1) Head blow: -The blunt damage is increased by 30/40/50 from 25/30/35.
2) Incise: -Each time the weapon damage is increased from 70/80/90% to 80/90/100%, -Stamina cost is increased from 100% to 150% the weapon cost. - The animation (Cast) speed is increased.
3) Smart Gesture: - Attackers' melee damage will no longer been reduced - Attackers' stamina Cost is increased by an additional 5%
4) Tentative attack: - Weapon damage caused changed from 60/70/80% to a fixed 100%.
5) One-Handed Weapon Master: - Damage bonus reduced from 25% to 15%.
Dual-armed weapon:
1) Cross cut: - Stamina cost reduced from 200% weapon cost to 150% weapon cost.
2) Feint: - Stamina cost has been reduced from 120% weapon cost to 100% weapon cost - Animation (Cast) speed has been increased.
3) Serial Pricks: - Stamina cost reduced from 300% weapon cost to 200% weapon cost.
4) Dual Weapon Master : - Removed the accuracy bonus - Reduced the damage bonus from 20% to 15%.
Polearms weapon:
1) Stumble sweep: - Knockdown time reduced from 2/3/4 seconds to 1.5/2/2.5 seconds.
2) Armor penetration: - Armor penetration has been reduced from 12/18/24% to 10/15/20%, - Fixed a bug that the skill will increase the accuracy by mistake.
3) Polearms Weapon Master : - Removed damage bonus and accuracy bonus, - Increases attack speed by 15%.
Ranged weapon:
1) Dead zone: - Stamina cost reduced from 300% weapon cost to 200% weapon cost.
2) Power shoot: - Stamina cost reduced from 200% weapon cost to 150% weapon cost.

1) Armour crash: - Physical resistance reduction increased from 10/15/20% to 12/18/24%.
2) Charge attack: - The animation has been reworked to make the entire skill smoother.
3) Spiral slash: - Stamina cost reduced from 200% weapon cost to 150%s weapon cost.
4) Two-Handed Weapon Master: - Removed damage bonus and accuracy bonus. - Stamina Save increased by 10%.
Weapon & Shield:
1) Knock shield: - Taunt duration reduced from 3/4/5 to 2/3/4.
2) Shield strike: - Cooldown time increased from 12 to 14, - Stamina cost reduced from 18 to 15.
3) Smash Ground: - Damage based on block rate has been increased from 40/50/60% block rate to 70/80/90%.
4) Alternate attack: - Damage bonus increased from 4/8/12 to 8/16/24, - Stamina Cost reduced from 150% weapon cost to 120% weapon cost.
5) Shield Master: - Removed the damage bonus. - Stamina cost while blocking now reduced by 10%.
Genre:
Gladiator:
1) Multi-weapon master: - Now reduces the weight of secondary weapons by 50/75/100%.
Commander:
1)War banner: - The radius of skill increased from 3 meters to 4 meters.
Duelist:
1) Precision strike: - The Animation (Cast) Speed is increased.
2) Expose weaknesses: - Fixed a bug that could stack infinitely, and now only stack 16 layers.
Marksman:
1) Marksman: - Ranged damage bonus reduced from 10/15/20% to 8/12/16%.
2) Burning Arrows: - Stamina cost increased from 0 to 8.
3) Bouncing Arrow: - Stamina cost reduced from 200% weapon cost to 150% weapon cost.
4) Sniper stance: - Damage bonus has been reduced from 1/1.5/2% ranged damage per point to a fixed 1% - Increase the attack range by 1/2/3 meter.
Ranger:
1) Ranger: - Ranged damage bonus reduced from 10/20/30% to 10/15/20%.
2) Slide Strafe - Name has been change to slide , the shooting effect has been canceled. - Movement speed will be increased by 10/15/20% within 5 seconds after sliding.
Rouge:
1) Envenomed Weapon: - Fixed a BUG that could be stacked indefinitely. Now, poisoned weapons can only stack 4 layers. - Damage per second reduced from 3/4.5/6 to 3/4/5.
2) Surprise attack: - The effect has been reworked : attack damage will be increased by 140/160/180% damage to enemies who is not current targeting you. - This skill has a 5 second cooldown.
3) Lurk : - Skill has been replaced with "Back Stab" Back Stab: - Move quickly behind the target to launch an attack - This skill has a cooling time of 11/9/7 seconds.
4) Light armor expert: - Light armor weight burden reduction has been changed from 20/30/40% to 10/15/20%. - Add a new effect , for each piece of light armor equipped, an additional 1/2/3 evasion is added.
Blackthorn Arena June 1st Hotfix and announcement:
Orc Master Invasion Event has been postponed for 15 days overall in order to provide players more time to get prepared. Added a hint to the fact that the game cannot be held during the plot competition.
BUG fixes (including previous hotfix fixes)
1)Fixed a black screen bug caused by performing " Escaped Gladiator Capture mission".
2)Fixed a bug where retreating from the challenge will cause the players to lose their characters.
3)Completely solved the bug that the monsters could not be used to hold the Venationes.
4)Fixed a bug that caused the players to get stuck in the loading screen after returning from the side mission.
5)Fixed a bug where gladiators could not equip items occasionally.
Starting this week, we will reduce the frequency of major update patches and instead push more content to everyone at once. This will also help us to have enough time to test our changes. Our next major update will be launched this weekend. The updated content will include: new legendary weapons, new legendary armor sets, an interesting new system, new side mission maps, and massive adjustments in balance. Stay tuned !

Balance adjustment:
1) The basic maintenance cost of all slaves has been reduced by 10 copper coins.
2) For every 100% of life lost in the battle, the health lost is reduced from 40-60 to 25-40.
3) The daily basic treatment speed of the treatment room is increased from 10 to 15 per day.
4) The Stamina damage received by the block has been reduced from 150% of the base damage to 125%.
5) Ranged attacks only cause half of the Stamina damage to the blockers.
6) The income from holding competitions has decreased by 20% overall.
7) Most of the single control skills can not be cast on the large enemies.
We made such a balance change, the purpose is to hope that players can train more gladiators to take turns in battle or perform multiple tasks at the same time. Rather than as before, which is to train four elite gladiators from the beginning to the final game of the game. Now the difficulty of veterans and above will be significantly increased, players need to be good at using the benefits of side missions to maintain the operation and available manpower of the arena. We strongly recommend that players send their teams as far as possible to perform side mission while joing the arena battle. Please note that the time of the side mission is parallel to participating in the arena battle, and it will not take days to perform the side mission.

19) Fixed a bug where robbery caravan achievement statistics is not working correctly.
20) Resolved the conflict that occurred when the player' competition started and the side mission was also sent out at the same time.
Improvements:
1) Now players can press Alt to highlight the gladiators on both sides while watching the battle.
2) Now hover your mouse over a gladiator's avatar, the gladiator will highlight in the scene and display the name.
3) The effect of using the potion was changed to take effect instantly, to avoid the animation being interrupted and making the potion invalid.
4) Balanced the reward of caravan side mission.
5) All humanoid units will drop a small amount of money after death.
6) Added materials to all monsters. Now monsters in both hunting and treasure hunting side mission will drop materials. The material will appear on the corpse after the monster dies.
New content:
1) Two new monsters have been added to the treasure hunt mission, Gargoyle and Wild Witch. They have very powerful skills and are very difficult to deal with.
2) Added all armor recipes for veteran T2 level, which can be researched by the blacksmith.
3) Six kinds of permanent potions have been added, which need to be synthesized by hunting the materials dropped by the top monsters. The formula of the potion can be studied by the doctor.
