Major Update for March 1st:
Bug Fixed:
1)Fixed a rare bug where the Gladiators' Ragdoll status would get stuck after death.
2)Fixed a bug where players could only exit and restart the game after encountering a black screen. ( Now if you encounter a black screen, you can restore it directly by loading the recent archive without exiting the entire game).
3)Fixed a bug where the description of Dual weapon's skill ( Two swords one brain) was written in"increase dodge" instead of "increase block rate".
4)Fixed a bug where learning Marksman's skill (Never off hand) and increasing the level of three(Light, Medium, Heavy) "armor expert" skills will not recalculate characters' weight.
5)Fixed a bug that Gladiator skill ( "Kill Desire") is not working properly.
6)Fixed a bug that caused NPC ’s arena influence to be abnormal due to the challenge mode.
7)Fixed the bug that using Amnesia Potion could obtain extra potential points.
Improvement :
1) Now in the character attributes panel, the basic attributes of characters and bonus attributes (Extra points from gears or food buff) are displayed separately
2) Gladiators that are currently participating in matches cannot be executed and sold.
3) Now that the map has a tooltip, you can hover the mouse over the tooltip to extend the specific information of each game.
4) Change the default battle camera to Free camera mode, however, players can switch camera mode anytime in "Gameplay" of the options menu.
5) Repack all model assets for all arenas, to make the game size on hard drive smaller.
New content :
1) Added recipes for leather quiver T2 and T3.
2) Added large, medium, and small experience potions.
3) Added a new set of epic(purple) equipment: Ranger set.
4) Added 7 new traits:
- Greed for death: When the character's health is full, the damage is increased by 5%, however, when the character's health is below 50%, the volition is reduced by 10.
- Rebellion: The chance of increasing loyalty is reduced by 25%, and will have a 25% chance to lose an extra point of loyalty when losing loyalty.
- Hard work: Experience gained from training increased by 50%.
- Handedness: Critical Rate is increased by 3% when the character is holding a single weapon.
- Steady hand: Accuracy is increased by 6 when the character is using a ranged weapon.
- Balanced: Attack speed is increased by 8% when the character is using a polearm weapon.
- Strong grip: Stamina's cost of blocking reduced by 5% when the character is using a shield.
5) Designed unique traps or terrain obstacle mechanisms for most arenas, making the battlefield more dangerous.
6) Set effect system: Equipment has a Rare (blue) or above rarity will now have a set effect.
7) Two new rules of matches!
- Tag match: Similar to the rules of traditional fighting games (such as The King of Fighters), the two sides send 2-4 gladiators, but only one on one at a time, the next gladiator immediately enters the fight after the current friendly gladiator is defeated.
- Throne challenge: Multiple teams will participate in the throne challenge. The winning team will become the Throne leader, while the other teams become challengers and will take turns to challenge the currently Throne leader. The teams will play in random order.
8) Legendary champions and Legendary weapons!
Each arena will now have a very powerful champion, while more than ten legendary (orange) weapons with unique effects will be added to the game and assigned to each arena champion! These champions will have a chance to appear in competitions in various arena, and become the most powerful enemy of players. In addition, players can continuously challenge each of the arenas to eventually challenge their strongest champion. Players could earn their legendary weapon as a reward by defeating the strongest champion in the challenge.
Legendary Weapons:
- Wind whisper: Ranged attacks have a significant knockback effect.
- The golden strike: 10% chance to stun enemies for 2 seconds while attacking
- Osilel's root: immune to any knockdown effects.
- Smaragdus's squama: Blocking a projectile has a 25% chance to bounce the projectile back to the opponent.
- Bone crasher: Attack has a 25% chance to fracture opponents, reducing the target's attack speed and movement speed.
- The emerald thorn: Expose weaknesses will stack twice at a time.
- Osseydy's sacrificial dagger: Whenever an enemy is killed, the dagger will be blessed by Osseydy, causing 25% increased damage for 8 seconds.
- Khal Della: Character with no shield equip in the hand has an 18% chance to disarm opponent for 2 seconds while blocking.
- Fisherman's end: Each attack will cause bleeding damage.
- Barrier Breaker: Attack has a 25% chance to break the block.
- Rubrumors's fury: Attack will grant an additional 5 fire damage to the enemy.
- Irous' chosen: Each time character taking damage will have a 20% chance to grant an Irous blessing buff which will restore the character's health by 15 in 3 seconds.
- Peacelander's arrogance: Critical arrows will penetrate the target.
Legendary Armor:
- BlackThorn Set:
Obtained by the Legendary Wandering Merchant.
- BloodSand Set:
Dressed by the champion of the BloodSand Arena.[/h3][/b]
- Desolate Fort Set:
Dressed by the champion of Desolate Fort Arena.
- Terrell Set:
Dressed by the champion of Terrell's Prison Arena.
10) Added more conditions and action options to the trigger:
New trigger conditions:
- Determining the number of enemies currently engaged.
- Determining whether the unit is currently under control
New trigger actions:
- Activate / deactivate status skills.
- Change Attack direction.
- Change Combat style.
- Change Engage style.
Balance adjustment:
General:
1) Reduce the research costs for all recipes by half.
2) Slightly increased the probability of holding daily matches in other arenas.
3) Slightly reduced the player's experience gained in the match, and reduced the maximum experience gained in a single match to 1000.
4) Reduce the monetary rewards obtained in the challenge by half.
Skills:
1) Rogue: - Removed the Stamina save bonus from "Light armor expert". - The maximum stack of "Envenomed Weapon" is set to 4.
2) Duelist: - The maximum stack for "Expose weakness" is set to 16.

13) Veteran Heavy Leg Armor: 1 Stamina.
14) Junior Gladiator Medium Breastplate T3: 12% tenacity changed to 10% tenacity.
25) Champions Cloak: Rarity changed from rare (blue) to epic (purple). Flame, Cold, Electric, and Poison resistance increased from 8% to 10%. Increases 5 dodge and 5% critical strike rate.

Feb 21th Hotfix:
BUG fix:
1) Fixed the bug that the already started competition can still participate when the world map is opened and players clicked the "next turn" button at the same time.
2) Fixed a bug where the block would be ignored in subsequent normal attacks after using the ignore block skills.
3) Fixed a bug where players could still participate in other matches from the arena list on the same day of the story match (such as Spring games, the Grand Venations, etc).
4) Fixed a bug where the ejection arrows' damage would be increased with the number of ejections.
5) Fixed a bug where the blacksmith's crafting time would sometimes be different than the time it should take.
6) Fixed a bug where wild boars would become Goblin Warriors in Venations show.
7) Fixed some text errors.
8) Fixed several missing localization (Chinese translation) issues.
9) Fixed a bug where the killing damage was not included in the damage taken and damage caused statistics.
10) Fixed the bug where characters can return extra potential points through the reset button of the skill panel after using the Amnesia potion.

Improvement:
1) Now the reputation of the NPC arena would not exceed 10,000.
2) Added an event where players will now be challenged by NPC gladiators.
3) Now in the challenge matches, the winning side will receive the influence reward based on the influence level of the losing side, and the losing side will lose its influence based on the level of its influence.
4) Defeated opponents cannot be executed in the challenge matches now.
Balance adjustment: 1) Reduced the possibility of gladiators escaping and increased the chance of arresting gladiators by guards.
2) Gladiators with higher weight are now less affected by the knockback effects.
3) The dwarven racial talent "Son of rock" will now reduce the weight penalty by 25%.
Dear Blackthorn Arena player: Hello everyone, starting from this week, we will focus on adding new content (new systems, new equipment, new mechanisms, new genres, etc.) as well as fix a few minor bugs. BUG fix:
1) Fixed a bug where characters with "benevolence" and "cruelty" did not correctly increase obedience when the player chose the opponent's life or death.
2) Fixed an animation error after the lizard man was stunned.
3) Fixed a bug where some monsters were not correctly translated into Chinese when players held Venations.
4) Fixed a bug where the "Trace Arrow" skill did not properly apply Debuff to the target.
5) Fixed an issue where the Execute Shoot's additional damage was incorrect.
6) Fixed a bug where Evasion could not properly transfer the target's hatred.
7) Fixed a bug where the skill "Break free" in the duelist genre could not properly remove the movement restriction effects.
Improvements:
1) The crafting page now shows the required skill levels.
2) Add a cancel button where players could cancel the treatment process in the treatment room.
3) Improved the buff's information display, now you can see more specific information through it.
4) Improved display of skill requirements. Skills will now display information such as genre not learned, required attribute points and levels.
5) Added some missing UI localization (in Chinese).
6) Improved the layout of gladiator tooltip pannel. Make it more legible.
7) The Action Bar will now be displayed when viewing the details of the Gladiator (originally only displayed when viewing the Skill item).
8) Reduced the duration of floating text when the skill is released.
New Content:
1) Added a new guard system: Many players must have noticed that the main Hall, training ground, treatment room, torture chamber, and the smithy all have corresponding functions. Only the gladiator cells look superfluous. Well, here it comes.
Guard system: A guard column has been added to the gladiator's cell. Players can hire guards to manage their gladiators in order to reduce the frequency of gladiators trying to escape. Gladiators with low loyalty may launch riots or escape now. If the guard failed to stop them or been defeated, the gladiator will escape forever!
2) Add two new genres :
- Berserker: Berserker's fighting style is very wild and aggressive. In their battle, they ignored their own safety and attacked their opponents madly. They often fight more and more bravely and will be the most dangerous enemy when they are on the verge of death.
- Marksman: Unlike Rangers, Marksman is very good at sniping enemies from a long distance. They rarely miss arrows and can cause many negative effects on opponents. However, the marksman will be extremely vulnerable after being approached by the enemy.
3) Added the feature of removing traits: the torture chamber can now remove the negative traits of the character through torture, however, it will consume a long time and gladiators' health.
4) Added material system: Now almost all blacksmiths, chefs and doctors need certain materials to craft their recipes. These materials can be obtained by participating in competitions or purchased from street merchants.
5) Added 7 new recipes to the chefs for research: their materials need to be killed by different monsters in the Venations.
6) Added a Death immune potion recipe to the doctor, which will avoid the next complete death in battle after drinking.
7) Added a Loyalty potion recipe to the doctor, which will increase gladiators' Obedience after drinking.
8) Added an Amnesia Potion recipe to the doctor, which will return all potential points and skill points spent on weapon skills and genres for that gladiator after drinking.
9) Add some pictures to the events.
Balance adjustment:
General:
1) Improve the Genre skill system: The original genre skills need to learn a pre-skill to unlock, but we found that there is no obvious logical relationship between many skills and their pre-skills. This kind of dependency is not reasonable and will cause players to waste their skill points on completely unused skills. Now, we have eliminated the pre-skill requirements of all genre and changed them to the requirements of levels and attributes. Such changes make the game's point system more balanced and more reasonable
2) New Weight system and Weight penalty: Medium and heavy gladiator armors will no longer increase stamina exertion and reduce movement speed. Instead, it will be replaced by a weight system. All the equipment of the gladiator will increase the weight of the gladiator. When the gladiator's weight exceeds 25% of the total weight, the movement speed, stamina savings, and dodge would get reduced. The higher the weight, the higher the penalty. Strength attributes can increase the weight of a character.
3) Players will now see the winning probability of the Venations and exhibition match on the battle interface, however, players will no longer be able to send gladiators to participate in the league.
4) Slightly increased the winning probability when players send gladiators to participate in the Venations.
5) Improved the calculation method of the winning and losing ratio of sending gladiators to participate in matches
6) Gladiators now have a chance to reduce their loyalty if they participate in matches if their health is less than 50% or morale below 30%. The lower the status, the higher the chance.
7) Increased damage resistance cap from 75% to 85%.
8) The buff gained from special foods are nerfed, and the buffs from multiple foods will not overlap. The buffs gained from the last food will overwrite those from the previous food.
9) Increased the chance that a gladiator will acquire the corresponding trait after killing various types of monsters.
10) All NPC gladiators will receive certain attribute bonuses in Chapters 2 and 3 (After the Spring Game). The bonus value will be depended on difficulty.
Monster:
1) The Minotaur is now counted as a large enemy.
Skill:
1) One-handed weapon: - Gale combo damage has been increased to 90% / 100% / 110% weapon damage, - Gale combo will now sprint towards the target.
2) Rouge: - Light armor masters will now reduced the weight of light armor by 20% / 30% / 40%.
3) Gladiator: - Medium armor master will now reduce the weight of medium armor by 20% / 30% / 40%.
4) Defender: - Heavy armor master will now reduce the weight of heavy armor by 20% / 30% / 40%
Items:
1) Roast Suckling pork: - Reduced the health recovery rate gained from 0.5 to 0.1. - Reduced the Stamina gained from 2 points 1.
2) Venison in cinnamon sauce: - Reduced Stamina gained from 2 points to 1
3) Mock turtle soup: A - Added materials requirements for the recipe. - Now it only provides 6% physical resistance. (was 10% physical resistance and 0.2 Hp recovery before)
4) Mushroom fish soup : - Added materials requirements for the recipe. - Reduced the Precision gained from 2 points to 1.

Note: We have recently resolved a very stubborn bug with the wrong character ID. This bug may cause: Mysterious people appear in the player ’s gladiator arena, a "traitor" suddenly appears in one of the gladiator games (Players/NPC ' gladiator will attack teammates), and the player ’s gladiator upgrade will automatically add skill points and other weird events. Now, the newly created characters will get rid of this bug after the update, but unfortunately, all the archives before this update may still leave this bug. To this end, we have added a bug fix command in the console, please follow these steps to repair your archive:
1. Load the archive you want to repair.
2. Press " ` " to open the game console.
3. Enter the "SaveFix();" command to repair your archive.
4. If the repair is successful, you will get a new archive with renamed " Fixed". If the repair fails, you will get a failure prompt. Your old save files can still be used even with this bug being unfixed, however, if you want a more complete gaming experience, we strongly recommend that you restart a game if the repair fails.
Note: Earlier archives would have a better chance to get successfully repaired. Some longer archives may not be repairable due to the complexity of the BUG situation, and we apologize deeply for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Improvement:
1) Added a shortcut button for switching weapons above the shortcut bar.
2) The setting of " only on action bar " can now be saved.
3) Added a setting for the upper limit of the number of auto-save. Now the default upper limit of auto-save is 10.
4) Players can now send gladiators to participate in a match without attending in person. This feature will allow players to send gladiators to participate in multiple matches in one round.
Balance adjustment:
Monster
1) Troll - Health increased from 600 to 700 - Health regeneration increased from 4 to 5.
2) Centaur (Ranged) - Health reduced from 425 to 380.

Bug fixed
1) Fixed some bugs where displacement skills can cause charaters to penetrate into walls.
2) Fixed a bug where canceling participation in Players' hosted competitions may cause a wrong arena window to pop up.
3) Fixed an issue where switching the character in the AI trigger window may caused the character's cycle round distance to be remodified.
4) Fixed a bug where the defenders' unyielding ability will not recover the correct amount persentage of Health when the characters has resurrected.
5) Fixed the bug that players could retrieve the prizes from the game after start hosting it.
6) Fixed a bug that players could obtain sponsors' equipments by canceling the hosted game.
7) Fixed a bug where the Blade Dancer would also take effect on other types of weapon. (besides one-handed weapon)
8) Fixed a bug where player's gladiators may not appear on the leaderboard.
9) Fixed a bug that arrows would always miss the target at a certain distance.

Improvements: 1) Adjusted the trap generation points in several arenas. Traps will no longer generate near the gladiators' exit.
2) Add an auto hide logic to some sight blockers in several arenas. Some covers which would possibly block players' sight in some arenas has been hidden.
3) Reworked some of the arenas entering display. Now they will focus more on the inside of the arena than on the outside.
4) Adds a hint to the match that has already started in arena details panel.
5) The blood color of some monsters has been changed to different colors.
6) Hovering over the date with mouse now will show a list of upcoming events (including Story competitions, gladiators' healing, research recipes, etc.).
7) Added an event to the completion of research, forging, training of the gladiators' genre, healing of the gladiators, slave domestication and bankruptcy.
8) Game fails due to bankruptcy will be shown in the form of an bad ending now.

1) Duelist: - Fixed a bug that caused the duel status to increase the blocking rate. - Expose weakness is no longer reset by casting skills, and can be superimposed by the number of melee weapon skills of the specified target.
Commander: - Harasser can now only be applied to plural enemies.
1) Fixed a bug where injury killers were not been described.
2) Fixed a bug where both players and enemies standing on the slope could not attack each other.
3) Fixed a bug where icons may still remain after players drag gladiators and equipments.
4) Fixed a bug that traps could still be triggered even after players have finished the match.

6) Improved the match signs on the world map. (Different types of matches now have different signs, and different levels of matchs will also be distinguished by color.)

Dear players of the Black Thorns Arena, Hello. Due to the Chinese New year holiday and the impact of new Chinese viruses (Wuhan disease), we have maintained a slower update speed in the past week, but we are fully back to work starting today. More fixes, improvements and new content will be continuously presented to everyone !!
Here is our update plan for the this month:
1) First of all, during this week, we will keep the frequency of updating every 1-2 days, and will work to solve the existing bugs and problems of the game.
2) For the next three weeks, we will maintain the update frequency of 1-2 patches per week, and will start adding new content to the game, including new equipment, new enemies, new game modes,etc.
The following are the minor fixes and changes for this updates:
1) Now running the game for the first time will automatically set the language according to the computer system, and the Gaming graphics will be set according to the computer hardware.
2) Fixed a healing bug that occurred l in Treatment room
3) Fixed a bug where slaves were sold in the market but it still exist after players returned to the BlackThorns Arena.
4) Fixed a bug where the gladiator would not flee correctly during battle.
5) Cancel the pop-up window before the game starts, now all settings need to be set in the game main menu.
6) Fixed a bug where the match could still proceed even without players sending any gladiator.

Bug Fixed
1) Spike rolls can now correctly damage the nearby characters.
2) Fixed a bug where changing the combat style from flee to other styles would not cancel the characters from fleeing.
3) Fixed a rare bug where the enemy team may get confused and mixed with players' teams.
4) Fixed a bug where players can enter negative numbers for the number of crafting items.
5) Fixed a bug where the player provided the rewards to host the competition will sometimes caused the item to be duplicated.
6) Fixed a bug where a player could host a competition before the spring game.
7) Corrected the wrong description of Gray Orcs' racial talent. (When health drops below 30%, damage increases by 20%.)
8) Fixed some errors in dialogue texts.
Improvements
1) Some traps will now spawn with a random angle.
2) Edited some equipment descriptions to make the descriptions and equipments more appropriate.
3) Significantly increased the rewards for Venationes.
4) Reduced monetary rewards for gladiatorial matches and challenges.
5) The reputation that gained or lost by choosing between your opponents' live or die according to the audience's preference is now reduced by half
6) Modified the steward 's dialogue after the spring game to remind players that they can now host the competitions.
7)Game can now run in background.
8) Optimized the target selection logic. It is now easier to select the target with the mouse click.
Balance adjustment
(Note: the difficulty of the game will increase significantly after this update)
General
1) Equipment can now only be sold at half price.
2) Reduced the physical health recovery per round for competitions.
3) Gladiator will now reduce 5% of morale each time they participate in battle.
4) Players' revenue from hosting competitions has dropped by about 30%
5) The overall experience players' gladiators gained from any match is reduced.
6)High-level gladiators will gain less experience in participated low-level matches.
7)low-level gladiators will gain more experience when participating high-level matches.
8) Monsters will now increase health and damage with the corresponding difficulty factor. (Senior / Veteran: 10% / 25%)
9) There is a small probability that the enemy equipment level will increase. (the probability depends on the difficulty).
10) The Stamina cost of blocking damage has been increased from 100% to 150%.
11) The blocking rate will not exceed 100% now.
12) Removed health regeneration. Characters will no longer passively recover health (except for individual equipment bonuses).
monster:
1) Giant Scorpion : - Health increased from 500 to 650, - Damage increased from 24-32 to 30-42. - Cutting, penetrate, blunt resistance increased to 65, 45, and 60 respectively.
2) Eagle Warrior : - Health increased from 380 to 460, - Cooldown of VolcrateDash increased from 4 seconds to 8 seconds.
3) Hippopotamus: - Health incresed from 650 to 680, - Health regeneration speed increased from 0.5 to 1.5.
4) Crocodile: - Damage increased from 28-32 to 30-46.
5) Rhinos: - Cutting resistance is increased from 30 to 40. - Blunt resistance is increased from 15 to 25.
Equipment:
1) General: -Recalculated the base attack speed of all weapons to make them more balanced.
2) Two-handed Weapons: - Damage has been reduced by 15%
3) Polearm weapons : - Damage has been reduced by 15%. - Changed damage type of of the halberds to sharp.
4) One-handed Weapons: [/b] - Increased the Stamina cost of all one-handed weapons by 1.
5) Ranged Weapons: - Increased the damage of all ranged weapons by 20%. - Removed the damage bonus gained by agility.
6) Gold topaz amulet: - Health regeneration has been reduced to 0.05 - Stamina regeneration has been reduced to 0.1.
7) Added three rare amulets.
Skill:
1) Shield and Sword: - Shield Master damage bonus and block rate reduced to 10%
