Blood Money delivers a raft of new criminal possibilities available to everyone across the entire world of Red Dead Online, with each step leading to the potential of greater rewards.

Head to the manicured streets on the west side of Saint Denis and acquaint yourself with Guido Martelli, right hand man to the notorious mob boss Angelo Bronte, to begin your journey taking on Crimes and Opportunities as they arise. Martelli is eager to recover a unique commodity known as Capitale – a system of exchange designed for the Bronte family’s more sensitive business dealings — which has found its way into the hands of the various cutthroats and villainous scum littered across the frontier. The value of Capitale for Martelli and the Bronte family, depends upon its scarcity.

Introduce yourself to the members of Martelli’s ring to uncover any potential crimes for the taking — if you’re yet to cross paths with these morally bankrupt associates, you may be asked to prove your worth before they trust you with recovering Capitale. Visit these particularly questionable characters:

• Anthony Foreman — reckless leader of the Foreman Brothers gang, found at Radley’s House in Rhodes or frequenting Doyle’s Tavern in Saint Denis
• James Langton — a famed bounty hunter of ill repute based in New Austin. James can be tracked down in Hennigan’s Stead or at his cabin by Lake Don Julio.
• Sean Macguire — temporarily separated from his gang, Sean is a serial thief and murderer. Visit Sean at Great Plains or in Tall Trees.
• Joe — closely associated with other lowlifes such as Micah, Cleet, and Samson Finch, Joe is set up in Osman Grove, New Hanover

Today’s update adds three multi-part Crime Contracts — The Railroad Contract, The Jeb Phelps Contract, and The Bluewater Contract — each with their own story to unravel. For those looking to lie, cheat, and steal their way to riches, you can also take on other dirty deeds. And as you traverse the plains, keep your eyes peeled for Homestead and Camp Robberies.

During these exploits, you’ll amass Capitale for Martelli. Trade these private bonds to henchmen in Martelli’s network who will in return for your efforts dispatch you on the first of three, larger scale Opportunities. Martelli is eager to stifle a rising Lemoyne senator whose political ambitions have hampered the Bronte family’s far-reaching operations. Damage the senator by stealing three Jewels of the West, the first of which is in pursuit of the Covington Emerald, an ill-gotten heirloom coveted by black hats far and wide, being transported by rail on a heavily guarded train.

The Quick Draw Club is a new series of rapid-fire passes in consecutive installments over the months ahead. Built specifically for the needs and wants of bandits, the Quick Draw Club grants members special rewards, bonuses, and items to accommodate living on the fringe of the law.

After speaking with Guido Martelli, visit the Fence to pick up the Hired Gun Kit: a care package fit for any outlaw that includes the new Fierro Bandana, bundles of ammo and consumables to keep you ready for battle, and Capitale to put towards Martelli’s criminal Opportunities across the five states.

Speaking of Opportunities, bandits who maneuver onto and off a guarded train, evade the law, and make away with the Covington Emerald will receive a Reward for a free Single Bandolier. He and his heavily armed band are said to occupy a dilapidated colonial property in Bayou Nwa. The gang is potentially harboring captives including some particularly predatory species, so beware…

OUTLAW PASS NO.4

A new Outlaw Pass also makes its way to Red Dead Online today, with new outfits, emotes, camp upgrades and more. Chosen photographs from The Naturalist Challenge are also now available as free Camp Flags, Moonshine Bar Photos and Photo Studio Backgrounds via the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club.

Members who upgrade to the Outlaw Pass for 40 Gold Bars will receive an assortment of new rewards, including luxurious warm clothing suitable for cold weather, new satchel and skill pamphlets, advanced photography enhancements, bonus cash and 30 Gold Bars, special gifts and much more.

Explore diverse locales, encounter majestic new Legendary Animals, and forge your own path as you choose whether to use these findings to learn new skills or bolster your resources and material gains.

Accomplished conservationist Harriet Davenport is looking for adventurers with an affinity for wildlife to help her track down specimens and further her extensive knowledge of the animals of the five states. Pursue these fascinating creatures in the wild, then cautiously sedate them to obtain samples for Harriet and be equitably rewarded.

At odds with Harriet’s mission to understand and preserve wildlife is the retired big game hunter Gus Macmillan, who will compensate you handsomely for your hunting skills. If your tastes favor fine clothing made from animal hides over the conservation of the natural world, Gus provides a wide range of options from the hauls you deliver. Be warned though, Harriet will take notice of your poaching activities if you try to play both sides of this quarrel.

Peddle white lightning as a black-market bootlegger in Moonshiners, the latest Frontier Pursuit available now in Red Dead Online. Team up with an infamous distiller to start your own Moonshining business and run it out of the new Shack property.

Moonshining takes your Trader skills to the next level and gives you your first business established outside of camp. Not only will you need to source ingredients and produce the goods, savvy Moonshiners will learn the demands of the market and time their shipments to align with the tastes of buyers. With that in mind, Moonshining requires you to have cut your teeth as a Trader, having attained either at least Rank 5 or completed one Trader Sell Mission. Once that’s been achieved, Cripps will get you connected with Maggie Fike at Emerald Ranch, an old hand in the bootlegging business that will help you get your fledgling operation rolling.


To run a proper shine trade – not some backwoods Lemoyne Raiders operation – you’ll need a property. Throw in with Maggie to purchase one of five Moonshining Shacks from which you’ll conduct your business. Once you’ve sourced your cook and equipment, Maggie will maintain the homestead’s front upstairs while the art of distillation takes place downstairs. The basement has room for optional expansions including a Bar, space for a band and a dancefloor, with additional upgrades for your moonshining equipment.


Your mercantile journey will also offer a new series of Story Missions to take on solo or with your Posse, as Maggie Fike helps you build your business and gets a little revenge of her own along the way. Each mission earns you benefits to propel your business forward, as you eliminate rivals, learn new recipes and establish a steady clientele. Expand your burgeoning enterprise by developing different blends and distributing across the five states. Today’s update to Red Dead Online also features new clothing including Bandoliers and Corsets (with more items due to arrive in the coming weeks), a powerful new sidearm in the Navy Revolver, and more in addition to gameplay improvements and enhancements as we continue to build on and refine the game world.
