Dragon Vault Update

Some of Gerrant’s power has found its way to the Dragon Vault! Pick up rare-grade costumes to acquire the grace of Gerrant for yourself. New synthesis costumes are also available, as well as an update to items in the Dragon Egg.

Gerrant’s power has also influenced the Dragon Eggs, creating a new Gold Dragon Egg! Get the first item on your way to a complete Gerrant transformation.

Arena AI Game Modes

The King and the Duke have worked tirelessly with Belin and the Sorceress’ of the Coven to bring alternate options to the PvP Arena! Now introducing the following PvP active AI game modes:
- Respawn (AI)
- Rounds (AI)
- WipeOut (AI)

In PvP AI game modes, you can join up with a team, or go solo against active AI-controlled classes. Unlike the AI classes in the Combo Practice Room, these AI classes won’t just stand there! They’re ready to fight back and give you a challenge.

Belin and the Sorceress’ of the Coven are working diligently to give you access to all of the classes, but for now only the following AI classes are available:
- Gladiator
- Warden
- Ice Witch
- Crusader
- Gear Master
- Spirit Dancer
- Reaper

Try setting an AI to the highest difficulty and see if your combos stand a chance! You can also earn achievements for beating the various AI classes.

Unlimited Battlefield

The ultimate all-out brawl has appeared in Altera—the Unlimited Battlefield! You can access the field within the major field portals in Saint’s Haven. Once inside, take on five other players as you brawl against each other to see who can earn the most kills within the ten-minute time limit! Note that you cannot be in a party to enter; you can only enter solo.

But beware… hordes of monsters appear as well, and they will try to take you out. If you die, you will respawn in the battlefield. If you die three times, you will respawn with a buff that lets you deal out increased damage!

While monsters don’t count toward your kill count, defeated monsters drop items that ANYONE in the room can pick up! You need to be quick and deadly to take out monsters and acquire their items before someone else does. Get your hands on items such as an Unlimited Wellspring that grants increases to Strength, Agility, and Physical Damage!

Unlimited Battlefield Times:
- Monday – Thursday: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Pacific (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM Eastern)
- Friday – Sunday: 12:00 AM – 2:00 AM Pacific (3:00 AM – 5:00 AM Eastern), 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Pacific (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM Eastern)

Bug Fixes

- Christmas costumes from NPC Santa Orc now display properly on Machina characters.
- The Red Dragon Nest glitch has been fixed.
- The Ice Witch “Class Master Class Skill II” now functions in PvP.
- The “Shortcuts” quest from Carderock Pass has been removed.
- Various texts have been updated.

Achievement Changes

- Unlimited Battlefield achievements have been added.
- PvP AI achievements have been added.

NPC Changes

- The R-Coin Shop has been removed from NPC Cassie.
- NPC Santa Orc has left Altera.

Patch Notes: Enter the Magician’s Tower!

New Dungeon: Magician’s Tower

The new Magician’s Tower dungeon has been added! This dungeon is located in West Atlantis for players level 160 and above. However, the content is recommended for players above level 165. The Magician’s Tower is made up of three floors, and each floor is harder than the one previous! This dungeon also continues the main storyline.

New Ind. Dungeon: Polluted Magic Control Center

Within the Magician’s Tower you can discover the new individual dungeon, the Polluted Magic Control Center! Grab some friends and enter as a party of three. Make sure one person in the group has the Magic Power Control Center Pass, required to gain entry! You can purchase a Magic Power Control Center Pass from NPC Pointry for 3,000 Battle Points. Once inside, you have 15 minutes to defeat all 25 monsters within the dungeon. The dungeon normally has a 20-hour cooldown, but from February 18 to March 17 the cooldown is only 10 hours! Once you complete the dungeon, everyone in your party will receive the Polluted Magic Control Center Reward Box which will be sent to their mailbox.

New Legendary Weapon: Dark Abyssal Instrument

As you navigate the Polluted Magic Control Center, you have a chance to acquire the newest Legendary weapon—the Dark Abyssal Instrument! This weapon has a chance to drop from boss monsters, and can also be randomly obtained through the Polluted Magic Control Center Reward Box. Check out its stats!

- Min. Level: 165
- Attack Power: 2036-2735
- Vitality: +304
- Intelligence: +808
- Magic: [Chaotic Disharmony Lvl. 1]
- Special Ability: Enhance (DEX). Increases Attack Power by 2.0% of DEX.
- 10% chance to not consume Action Power when using Magic.

New Socket System: Star Stones

Add sockets to your items in order to equip a Star Stone! Star Stones are new items that can be used to enhance the performance of your equipment.

Sockets
- With the new socket system, you can apply sockets to various pieces of equipment.
- Sockets can only be applied to an item one time, and 1-3 sockets will be applied at that time.
- Accessories can only have one socket, and you cannot apply sockets at all on clothes/hats/mounts/decorations.
- You can also use Atlas Restoration Ore to remove the socket, which restores the item to its previous non-socketed state.
- The amount of Atlas Restoration Ore required to remove the socket will differ depending on the level of the equipment.

Star Stones
- Star Stones are new items that can be attached to a socketed piece of equipment in order to give it additional stats.
- Each Star Stone is ranked from 1 to 5, and total of 60 different Star Stones are available.
- Star Stones can be registered in the Star Stone Bag. You can then select stones from the bag to equip in a socket, or fuse multiple stones together.
- Fusing Star Stones consumes 3 to 5 Star Stones to obtain one random Star Stone, and requires paying a gold fee.
- Depending on the rank of the Star Stone, the gold cost for fusion may vary.
- If high-ranked stones are fused, a higher-ranked Star Stone can be obtained.
- Star Stones drop in the following dungeons: Ind. 90/94/101/105, Training Center, all Nation Dungeons and all Guild Dungeons except Ruined Shrine of Snakes/Marksburg. These items are tradeable.

Atlas Restoration Ore
- Atlas Restoration Ore is required in order to remove sockets from equipment.
- This item will be available in the Item Mall at all times. This item is tradeable.
- Can also be obtained from SpellTower Reward – Magic Source. This item is not tradeable.

Star Stone Bag
- Star Stones must be registered in the Star Stone Bag before they can be socketed or fused.
- Access your Star Stone Bag by clicking the right-side shortcut, then right-click the Star Stone in the inventory, and then select [Game Info] - [Star Stone Bag].
- Select [Register Star Stone] to store Star Stones in the bag. Select [Remove Star Stone] to return a Star Stone to your inventory.
- The maximum number of Star Stones you can hold is 10,000 per type, and any excess will be sent to the mailbox.
- Once Star Stones are registered to the Star Stone Bag, you can fuse them, add Star Stones to equipment, add sockets to equipment, or reset sockets.

Market Search
Because Star Stones can be attached to equipment, a new search condition has been added to the advanced options in the Market. When purchasing an item, you can check the additional stat info that has been applied through use of Star Stones.

Valentine’s Day Event

Feel the love! Stay logged in to Atlantica Online to earn an event dungeon ticket, and use it to enter the Three Tunnels of Love. Defeat the monsters inside each of the three dungeons to earn a Heart-to-Heart token. You can also complete daily quests to earn additional tokens. Take your tokens to the Sweetheart Acong at the Three Tunnels of Love to exchange them for some sweet items including an Acong Buddy Mount (No Trade), Wings of Love Decoration (No Trade), Gigas: Guardian of Love Mercenary Skin (No Trade), and more!

New Enhance System

- NPC Smart Robo has been added at Rome Bazaar.
- Smart Robo can enhance equipment using Equipment Boxes and gold.
- Enhancing a Judgment Sword will require a Judgement Equipment Box along with gold.
- Failing an enhance will not break the item.
- There is a chance for equipment to drop in rank using NPC Smart Robo.
- NPC Smart Robo has the ability to increase an item’s rank by three enhancement ranks.
- NPC Smart Robo will not take any item above +5 rank.

General Improvements

- A function to open up to 50 boxes at once has been added. Select Boxes and Challenge Boxes cannot be opened with this system. Items will be sent to the mailbox when opened with this system.
- The ability to start Guild Crafts remotely has been added. A new menu in the guild tab can be used to start Guild Crafts, regardless of location.

Arena of Atlantis Hot Time

Play Arena of Atlantis (AoA) and receive increased EXP and LP (Arena of Atlantis Points) during the Hot Time periods! The AoA Hot Time UI will be displayed separately above the chat window on the left-side.

In 2015, Lann, Fiona and Evie all experienced a rebirth in power that bestowed upon them new attacks, new abilities, and more powerful techniques making them equals among their counterparts. With the first update of 2016, another warrior has emerged from his training, ready to bring about another round of mayhem in Vindictus as the Karok Unleashed update has arrived!

Karok Unleashed

There's a lot to go into, as nearly every skill Karok has is getting a polish. Even Karok's body is not immune to the changes, as two new sliders have been added to the character customization menu: Head and Proportion.

Head does exactly what it sounds like, increasing or decreasing the size of Karok's skull to better fit with the variety of body sizes. Proportion, on the other hand, controls how Karok's muscles fit on his massive frame, the traditional heavy bulk, or taller with a more lean feel. These sliders can be selected when creating a new Karok or modified with an Appearance Alteration Coupon.

But don't let his looks be all that defines him, there's plenty of new abilities and changes that Karok can make use of with any weapon!

Dragon Vault Update

Get ready to go out of this world! New futuristic fashions have invaded the Dragon Vault, along with Machina hair and face styles, new hair styles for many classes, and the new Champion’s Package.

Then crack open a Dragon Egg, and see if you can find a UFO mount, a cloud spirit, and the gorgeous Blinding Constellation wing, tail, and decal set!

Mercenary Exploration System

Altera is a big world, and sometimes even the most experienced explorer doesn’t have time to see everything. Now you can send out brave mercenaries to explore the frontier for you! These mercs can complete exploration objectives on your behalf, and help you earn the riches that once graced the royals of Val Astrum.

Choose a total of 3 mercenaries; either ones you own or ones that you can rent.

Wait out the timer to receive your reward. The longer and more difficult the mission, the better chance of receiving awesome rewards!

Guild Update

The guild system has been updated to make it easier to use and level your guild! Guild EXP now turns into Guild Points (GP), which can be used to level up your guild, receive guild rewards, and more. The ‘GP Limit’ value increases as your guild level increases. Guild Points are automatically added to the guild after clearing dungeons, nests and completing guild achievements. Guild member contribution can also now be seen in the Guild window.

Guild Rewards have been streamlined so that the rewards can be viewed more easily. Most items in the ‘General’ sub-tab can be purchased by all guild members, while items in the ‘Guild Rewards’ sub-tab can only be acquired by guild members of officer level or higher.

Additional information:
- The amount of points required to max out a Guild Level has been reduced.
- The amount of points received after completing an achievement has been reduced.

The following new Guild Rewards have been added.
- Guild Member Damage Boost: +1%/+3%/+5%
- Guild Member Hero EXP Boost: +5%/+10%/+15%
- Guild Point Boost: +5%/+10%/+15%

Dragon Gem Enhancement

Lv. 90 Dragon Gems can now be enhanced in much the same way that armors and weapons can be enhanced. However, the materials needed for each enhancement must be extracted from other Lv. 90 Dragon Gems. Stats that pertain to the Dragon Gem will be upgraded when enhancing the gem. Keep enhancing to find out the max level of the Dragon Gem!

Hero System

After reaching the max level of Lv. 90, you can now earn Hero EXP when you clear a max level dungeon. This new Hero System allows you to continue leveling by an additional 50 levels! By continuing to level up, your stats and damage increase, making you stronger and ready to take on end-game content. This system is shared between all characters on a single account. The Hero Level UI has been added to the ‘Character’ window so that you can see your progress. There are limits as to how many levels you can earn on your characters, and there is a total limit to the amount of Hero EXP that your account can earn each week.

Damage Counter

You will now be able to see how much damage you and or your party does in a single dungeon or nest run! Use this to help analyze your attacks and make the most of your party’s run!

The damage meter information can be found in the ‘Overview’ menu (or press the ‘N’ key). In the ‘Damage’ tab, press ‘Start’ to begin recording the damage done by all party members during the dungeon or nest run. Press the ‘Stop’ button to finish the recording. The ‘Dungeon’ tab automatically records all of your damage done in all dungeons you visit during the play session. This information disappears when you log off.

Bug Fixes

- The Dark Avenger quest can be completed.
- Various texts have been updated.

UI Changes

- NPC Portal Mages have been updated. Open your map and click on an NPC or portal to travel there instantly.
- Tooltips have been added to the ‘Mount’, ‘Ally’, and ‘Mercenary’ tabs of the ‘Character’ window.
- New ‘Damage Type’ text has been added in skill descriptions.

Achievement Changes

- Guild achievements have been updated.
- Daidalos Nest achievements have been added.

NPC Changes

- The Spirit of Wintertide has left Altera. Santa Orc has stayed behind.
- The NPC Arena Shop has been updated: Lustre’s price and purchase count has been lowered. The Hero Level EXP Potion and Epic Plate Pouch have been added.
- NPC Sanders’ Mercenary Pouch (Rare Grade) has had its required purchase level reduced to Lv. 24.
- NPC Blacksmith’s Technique Accessories from Lv. 24 to Lv. 70 have been removed. The Dragon Gem Enhancement system has been added.

Skill Changes

The ‘Damage Percentage Increase’ amount has been increased for the following ‘Class Mastery II’ skills. The new amounts are shown:
