Me hearties! We've got a small hotfix for you. Mainly some bug fixes and bomb vessel tweaks.
Below are the patch notes:
Bomb vessel tweaks:
Mortar now uses heavy cannonballs instead of regular cannonballs
Mortar rotation angle reduced from 260 degrees to 240 degrees
Bomb vessel top speed reduced so it is now only a bit faster than the brigantine
Mortar hits now reward 40 score points instead of 30
Junk Ship tweaks:
Junk ship health increased with about 5%
Gameplay tweaks:
Heavy cannonballs moved from tier 2 to tier 1
Anti-Sail cannonballs moved from tier 2 to tier 1
Heavy cannonball random spawn amount reduced from 7-20 to 3-10
Regular cannonball random spawn amount reduced from 10-20 to 5-15

Sound tweaks:
Weapon sounds now spawn attached instead of on a location which caused weird audio glitches on moving ships. Now the firing sounds are attached to the weapons and thus move along with the player and ship
Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug that caused servers to appear with max player limit of 1 making it impossible for affected players to join any server
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the voice type to keep reverting to a certain voice
Fixed a bug that caused default hand selection to be none/invalid, now bare hands
Ship presets should now work again
Fixed a bug with ship stats not showing the correct stats
First of all: We have detected and fixed a bug with the server map filters. They were disabled by default making it appear as if there are no servers. This is now fixed and people that experienced this bug should now see servers. Apologies for the issue!
In other news... Time for another BIG update. As mentioned in our roadmap, we've added a NEW SHIP TYPE: The Bomb Vessel.
This ship has a completely new cannon type: The mortar cannon. It shoots regular ol' cannonballs, is fully upgradable and especially powerful against those flthy deck-dwelling bilge rats.
When entering the mortar cannon you'll see your ship in seagull's view and you can see & adjust the trajectory of your cannonball when fired. It is quite tricky at first to hit moving ships but when you do... Oh boy... It sure does pack a punch!
In terms of speed and ship health the Bomb Vessel is between the Junk Ship and Brigantine. (Ship stats below)
The layout of the ship is quite different from the Junker or Brigantine, you got 1 regular cannon on both the left and right side but also two(!) swivel slots on each side. As with the other ships there's a swivel slot in the back but you got some extra cover when using this swivel cannon.
Below the deck we've also spiced it up a bit, It has a... you know what, I'll just show you:
Now, some of you might be asking: "Where are my pump and cork upgrades?" No worries, we're working hard on getting those in asap. So you can expect these soon™.

It's time for another Early Access Roadmap Update!
Later this month we'll be releasing a brand new ship type called "The Bomb Vessel". It will be equipped with a powerful brand spanking new mortar-type cannon. The mortar is designed to be especially effective in eliminating pirates standing on the enemy deck because of the highly parabolic trajectory. In terms of ship health and speed we expect the Bomb Vessel to be in between the Junk and Brigantine. So get ready pirates! Death from above will soon be upon us.
Apart from this we'll also be adding some long-requested extra ship upgrades to the game. Namely for the corks and pumps.
We've got a small hotfix today addressing some bugs and we did some improvements on the votekick system and score amounts.
We also identified a major bug in the ship culling (performance) system which caused the entire system to malfunction and thus not be active. We fixed the problem and now ship culling should work as intended. This should give a noticeable FPS increase and might drastically increase FPS on weak or mid-range CPU based systems. Especially during matches with a lot of ships (5+), there should be less frame drops and average FPS should be higher.
Patch notes:
Party and votekicking improvements:
"Enable Team Fill" checkbox renamed to "Lock Party" and thus inverted
Party members can now bypass a locked party and always re-enter
Scoreboard now shows how many players a crew has kicked
Players that were kicked out of a team can no longer rejoin said team
Score changes:
Normal cannonball hits now grant 20 points instead of 5
Heavy cannonball hits now grant 30 points instead of 10
Trap shot hits now grant 40 points instead of 15
Anti-sail hits now grant 25 points instead of 10
Explosive barrel hits now grant 80 points instead of 20
Anti cannon hits now grant 40 points instead of 15
Bonus reward for smaller crews:
If a crew has not kicked anyone during the entire match and wins with less players than the 2nd placed crew, each winning crew player gets an extra bonus reward
Ship ladder tweaks:
Climbing sound volume decreased from 1 to 0.4
Bug fixes:
Fixed a major bug with the ship culling that caused it to not work at all. There should be less framedrops and higher average FPS
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused previous weapon to not be re-equiped when leaving swimming state or climbing on deck from a ship ladder. Now your previous weapon will always be re-equiped properly
Fixed a bug that caused the player to enter a vehicle when trying to pick up loot close to a vehicle when keybind of looting and interacting is the same
Ladder climbing no longer jitters when climbing ladders on sinking ships
Right click being stuck sometimes should be fixed
Sprint not working sometimes should be fixed
Fixed a small visual text issue with votekick and other kick or ban chat messages being cutoff and thus unreadable
Today we've got an exciting new update for you all! Any pirate worth their salt loves a good boarding, swashbuckling with your enemies on their deck while the wind whips around you. However, boarding was difficult to stop with how easy it was to get on another team's ship.
Too many pirates were teleporting around, dipping on and off the deck. These wormhole jumpers will have to a find another hobby as of today because we are proud to introduce ACTUAL ladders (or well, ropes)!
Here are the full patch notes:
Ship ladders:
Ship ladders have been completely overhauled and now include a climbing animation
Ship ladders now require you to hold interact (E) to climb all the way up to the deck
In-game crew locking:
You can now lock your crew during the match (press escape and navigate to crew management) Note: please refrain from kicking players to create free spaces. If there is a chance a friend of yours will join later, simply keep your crew locked until (s)he joins the game. Then you can unlock and (s)he can join the team.
Gameplay:
Improved visual smoothness of getting onto ships from the air
Improved visual smoothness of getting onto elevators
Anti-Sail cannonball sail damage increased from 15 to 20
TNT damage radius decreased from 1700 to 1200
Normal cannonball, anti-sail, anti-cannon and trap shot player damage decreased from 100 to 60
Swivel cannonball player damage decreased from 100 to 40
Cannonballs (of any type) no longer cause extra damage when hitting the head (headshot multiplier disabled on cannonballs) Note: cannonballs still do AOE (Area Of Effect) damage in a radius. A normal cannonball will now deal 60 damage + 30 AOE damage on a direct hit, for a total of 90 damage. All the damage values can be found here: https://blazingsails.fandom.com/wiki/Cannon_Projectiles
Sounds and effects:
Added sounds to ladder climbing and vaulting onto the deck
New hammer repair sound
Added smoke puff to mast repairing
Key binds:
Added an extra / separate key bind for picking up loot

Fixed a bug that caused pirates to be wearing white wrist wraps when not having any hand slot items selected for the first time
Fixed a bug with ship saving and selecting in the main menu

We've also added a bunch of iconic striped sailor pants, wrist wraps, makeup, face tattoos, new jackets and much more! We've even included a few epic and legendary ones.
