Fallout 76’s upcoming Season, Season 18: Milepost Zero - Country Road, starts on September 3, releasing alongside the Milepost Zero update.
Unlock exciting rewards from the Seasons pages, like the Blue Ridge Power Armor and Weapon Paints, the Rusted Power Armor and Weapon Paints, the Raider Lodge and even a Brewing Vat for making tasty brews in your C.A.M.P. There’s also the Stop Sign Paint for your melee weapons so you can beat back your enemies with a big metal sign. Unlock even more rewards with the Fallout 1st Seasons Pass (included with a Fallout 1st membership).
Along with Season 18, we’re adding a post-level 100 challenge! In this repeatable challenge, players over level 100 will now earn 300 S.C.O.R.E. when they complete three Public Events.
Check out some more of the rewards you can earn in Season 18 in the preview video here.
Join Creative Director Jon Rush on the country roads of Skyline Valley in our video preview of Milepost Zero. You’ll learn more about Caravans, where you’ll protect your brahmin as they travel from outpost to outpost. Jon also introduces Best Builds, a new way to vote for and feature the most exciting C.A.M.P.s. The best C.A.M.P.s will be featured across servers! Finally, we’ll preview Legendary Crafting, adding the ability to scrap Legendary weapons so you can learn, craft, sell and trade your Legendary Mods.
Milepost Zero releases in a few weeks and as you get ready to take on new challenges, we wanted to give you an update on how we’re thinking about Legendary Cores moving forward.
At the release of Milepost Zero on September 3, Legendary Cores will be discontinued as we consolidate the currencies used in Legendary Crafting for a more streamlined experience.
This means that Legendary Cores will no longer be usable across Appalachia. After the update, events that currently drop Legendary Cores will drop Legendary Modules instead. Any unspent Legendary Cores will be converted into Legendary Scrip at a 1:1 conversion ratio when Milepost Zero releases.
To help you spend your cores, the Scrip Surplus event will be extended and will continue running until Milepost Zero is available.
Join us in Fallout 76 for the Pioneer Scouts Challenge Event, Uncharted Lands, starting August 6 and running through August 20. Take photos, gather resources and set up C.A.M.P. in the uncharted region of Skyline Valley.
Remember to pick up your Marshal Mallow T-Shirt and Shorts outfit for free in the Atomic Shop and wear it while completing the daily challenges to get your rewards. Finishing 5 daily event challenges will automatically complete the weekly challenge. Each week will have its own set of challenges and if you complete both weekly challenges, you’ll earn the Roasting Stick weapon skin so you can roast not only marshmallows, but your enemies as well! You can also earn the Marshal Mallow Figure and a “I’d Rather Be Camping” poster for your C.A.M.P.
Our latest update for Fallout 76 launches today to bring improvements to Appalachia. Read on for a full list of patch notes.

Today the next major patch for Fallout 76 is hitting the Public Test Server (PTS). We’re excited for you to dive into the next update.
Kicking things off with some mischief, you can experience the return of Mischief Night at its new location in Rapidan Camp. On top of that, we’ve added Legendary Crafting to go along with some combat rebalance we can’t wait to get your thoughts on.
And this is just the beginning! Later this month, we’ll be adding the opportunity to build your own Caravan Company as part of Milepost Zero. We’ll have more news on what you can expect to see in that adventure soon.
The PTS is available for testing right now and as always, you can provide feedback on your experience in our Discord.
“A Bump in the Road” - Starting off your own Caravan Company
Coming soon to the PTS!
Mischief Night
Mischief Night returns. The event has been revamped and is now located in Rapidan Camp. You should still feel the fun and chaotic nature of Mischief Night while enjoying its new Halloween themed rewards. This Public Event will be on rotation with our new Daily Ops maps, so make sure to read on for our full Public Event + Daily Ops testing schedule.
Legendary Crafting
Please refer to the latest PTS Patch Notes at the bottom of the article for the most recent changes to the Legendary Crafting System
We have been exploring a new approach to Legendary Crafting and we wanted to give you an opportunity to get your hands on it to provide some early feedback. Our intention with the changes mentioned below is to give you a way to have more direct control over the Legendary Mods that are on your Legendary items. We believe this system will require time and iteration to get it right. So, while we’re providing this to you to test now, it won’t be released to the Live game until we believe that it’s ready.
Your feedback during this PTS period will be critical to how this develops. Please share your thoughts in our Discord server or on the Fallout 76 subreddit.
Before we dive into how this version of Legendary Crafting works let’s introduce you to Legendary Particles, our new crafting component. In this new system, you’ll use Legendary Particles to craft Legendary Mods and spend Legendary Modules to swap them onto Legendary items.
Legendary Particles can be obtained by scrapping Legendary items at your workbench or trading with players. These Legendary Particles can also be stored in your Scrap Stash.
Before you can start swapping Legendary Mods onto your items, you’ll need to obtain your desired mod in one of two ways:
- Trading for the mod with another player; - Scrapping Legendary items with your desired mod on it.
Every time you scrap a Legendary item you will obtain Legendary Particles as well as have a chance to learn one of the Legendary mods on that item. After obtaining a mod plan from an item, you can head over to your Tinker Bench to craft it by spending Legendary Particles.
Once crafted, you can either trade that mod with another player or head over to your Workbench to swap it onto a Legendary item.
Please Note When you swap a Legendary Mod onto an item that item becomes character-bound which makes it untradeable and not droppable in the world. Each time you replace a mod on an item, the cost will increase.
As a result of this update, we’re also relaxing the Legendary Mod restrictions on weapons. We’re excited to see you explore this system and find new, exciting mod combinations.
We appreciate that this is a large change to how you interact with Legendary items, but we’re eager for you to test this system and share your feedback. Tell us what you think about the UI/UX or how does it feel to obtain and craft Legendary Mods. We want your thoughts on all aspects of this so join us in our Discord and share your thoughts!
Best Builds
Milepost Zero will also be introducing a new social update called Best Builds. Best Builds is a system that allows players to submit, visit, and rate submitted C.A.M.P.s. Best Builds will be shared and populated thought out wasteland for all players across all Adventure Mode servers to see. You will be able to visit these amazing creations and enjoy the comforts, design, and unique tastes the builder has in store for its visitors. While visiting, if you happen to appreciate the builders C.A.M.P., you can show your support by leaving a 'Like'. We hope this allows our dedicated player builders an opportunity to show off their creations as well as inspire other players to create and submit their own Best Builds.
Submission:
Once you have a C.A.M.P. that you would like to show off to the wasteland, you can submit your C.A.M.P. though the Best Builds Submission option. This is found by opening the 'C.A.M.P. Slots' list on the Paper Map and selecting the C.A.M.P. you wish to submit. Once you've entered the submission window, you'll be able to take a few photos and tag your C.A.M.P. with the appropriate identifiers, to help make it stand out from the crowd. Once you're happy with how your C.A.M.P. is represented, you can submit your Best Build. The Best Build will be added to list of other player created Best Builds and be populated throughout the Adventure Mode servers.
Once populated players will be able to visit and Like your Best Build. If you happen to make changes to your Best Build, you can easily resubmit the newly remodeled C.A.M.P. without losing any Likes previously earned. You can resubmit you Best Build by going to the 'Manage Best Builds' option also found activated 'C.A.M.P. Slots' list on the paper map.
Visit:
Upon your travels in the wasteland, you will notice a few new locations with a blue ribbon on the paper map and on the compass. These are our player created Best Builds. You will be able to fast travel to these C.A.M.P.s the same as you would any other C.A.M.P.. While visiting, please take time to sit down, relax, and enjoy the experience the builder has instore for you. Don't delay on checking out a C.A.M.P. that piques your interest. Best Builds rotate in and out every hour.
Rate:
If you happen to find a Best Builds that you fancy, feel free to show your support to the builder by giving them a Like. You can 'Like' a Best Build by going to the Best Build icon on the paper map and selecting 'Like'. Giving the builder a Like will help show other players that this C.A.M.P. is indeed a Best Build.
Combat Rebalance
The Milepost Zero update continues the work set out in Skyline Valley to update our combat systems. This patch includes changes to sources of Fire and Poison damage as well as how the damage over time (DoT) effect works.
Fire and Poison damage will typically include a DoT effect, with Fire damage trending towards shorter durations and higher Damage Per Second (DPS), with Poison trending towards longer durations and higher overall damage.
General
Made an adjustment to damage modifiers for creature weak points. This will result in additional damage dealt to creatures when weapons with lower damage per hit are used.
Damage Over Time effects now scale with bonuses to weapon damage.
Addressed a series of inconsistencies with how certain damage effects (primarily Damage Over Time) were dealing incorrect damage types or were un-typed damage without a corresponding resistance.
Addressed an issue where Damage Over Time effects dealt by players would not scale to match the creature’s level.
Fixed an issue where certain effects such as Damage Over Time and the Vampire’s legendary mod could stack when applied multiple times simultaneously on a single target. This most commonly occurred with Shotguns, but could also occur when using the Two Shot legendary mod or the Mulit-Shot Cremator mod in V.A.T.S.

Vendor History
Have you ever wondered what was the hottest item at your C.A.M.P. Vendor or what would be a good price for an item? Well, your problems are solved with a Vendor History log, which is accessible from the Paper Map or your vendor. This log will show you what items were sold, for what price, the time, and the gamertag from your customers.
The Vendor History log only stores transactions that happen during your current play session. After your session ends the log will be cleared so you receive a fresh log when you start playing again.
Playtest Server Item Locker
Right outside of Vault 76 you’ll find a fancy-looking locker with a chalkboard next to it. This is the Playtest Server Item Locker which will be used to deliver items to Vault Dwellers that we would like your feedback on. It may be empty for now, but it won’t be for long. Be on the lookout for more news in the future!

Legendary Crafting
Removed Legendary Particles
Scrapping Legendary Items now grants Scrip instead of Legendary Particles
The amount of Scrip gained this way is significantly less than the Scrip vending machine gives.
Attaching Legendary Mods now requires Scrip, instead of Modules
Crafting Legendary Mods now requires Legendary Modules (Some mods have an additional required item)
- Fixed an issue preventing Vault 94 armor from being Legendary Crafted
Fixed cases where Legendary Items couldn't be scrapped
Legendary Core rewards from Events and Quests replaced with Legendary Modules
Dev Note: A common thread we saw in the feedback on Legendary Crafting was concern and a bit of confusion about an additional currency being used by the system. We also saw that players ended up with more Legendary Particles than they wanted to use. So, to simplify and make the system feel more familiar, we felt that continuing to utilize Modules & Scrip would make it easier to understand and use.

Caravans
If the server already has four caravans running, no error will display alerting the player that road is full. Marley will still take the 1000 caps
Marley does not indicate the difference between a large and small caravan shipment price
Ineke may spawn inconsistently, either needing players to exit and re-enter the HQ or hire another vendor to appear
When playing with saved character files, players may not be able to start a 4th caravan on the map, despite the road being available. This happens less frequently with new characters
Buying cryptid bait from Windy may not have an effect on a caravan run
Player may not be able to interact with junk scattered throughout the HQ
Theodore sells individual rounds of ammo instead of bulk packs
Axel’s scavenger functionality does not trigger

Combat Rebalance Work

To help set expectations, we expect these changes to take effect in a variety of different places (Weapons, Creatures, etc.) across multiple patches. Giving you all a lot of time to provide feedback on the adjustments being made to ensure we’re moving in a positive direction.
Season 17 – Pioneer Scouts
The sun is out and it’s time to head on over to Summer Camp. There’s much to learn and do at the Pioneer Scouts sleepaway camp!
- Muni Operator Outfit Now Looks the Same When Previewed & When Worn.
C.A.M.P.
- Workshop Enlightened Mothman Lantern should no longer display the premium icon and can be repaired individually when destroyed. - Workshop Fluttering Moth no longer takes up CAMP Light budget. - The Sacred Mothman Tome camp item now has candle flames. - Nuka world radio will now correctly sync across clients.
Gameplay
- Power Armor Fixing a state players could get in where they could no longer craft Union Power Armor when they should have been able to. - Power Armor Union Power Armor will no longer drop as loot from enemies but can be rolled from The Purveyor if the recipe or entitlement is known by the player.
Dev Note: With this fix Union Power Armor is now craftable for players who have bought and learned the recipe from Giuseppe or by players who earned the Union Power Armor entitlements in Season 10.
If you do not have the plan for Union Power Armor, it can be purchased from Giuseppe who is upstairs with Bubbles at the Refuge. Once learned, they will no longer be able to be obtained.
Additionally, Union Power Armor pieces will not drop as loot even if you can craft the Power Armor pieces, but they can be found via the random Power Amor Purchases from Murmrgh at The Rusty Pick. Players should only see Union Power Armor Pieces that they know how to craft drop from Purveyor's Mystery Picks. Pieces that they have yet to learn will not drop.
Union Power Armor pieces will still have the Atomic Symbol on them and cannot be traded or dropped by players once they have been obtained.
- WorkshopPlayer who had learned to build the Atlantic City Poker and Blackjack tables but lost access to them should now be able to build them again. - Test Your Metal Robot Beer Stein Display Case will now properly drop from the Test Your Metal Event. - Moonshine Jamboree Improved an issue which could block enemy pathing during the event. - Fasnacht: Masks of all tiers will correctly drop upon event completion. - Fasnacht: Improved spawn rates of Honeybeasts. - Fasnacht: Added a Donation Basket near the event! Share your repeat masks with other players. - Fasnacht: Marchers now start walking to the parade start immediately when their task is completed, without needing to wait for their dialogue line to be finished. - Fasnacht*: Increased the walk speed of the Marchers. - Fasnacht: Will now randomly pick between 5 possible end boss encounters. - Yao Guai Pastry: Now counts as a cooked meal for the "Eat a Cooked Meal" challenge. - Applying the Reflex Sight to the Enclave Pistol with a Flamer Barrel attachment now shows the Decrease in AP Consumption in the STATS Menu. - Hot Rod On Blocks & Overgrown Vehicle no longer spawn damaging nuke explosions when destroyed. - Fixed an issue which could cause players to get stuck while turning the spit in Meat Week. - Fixed an issue with the Damage Reduction effect on the Endangerol Barrel that allowed it to stack multiple times on a target. - Nuka Shank now requires glass & cloth to be crafted rather than oil. - Updated mods for the Guass shotgun, Guass minigun and Guass pistol to correctly require Science based perks to be applied. - Updated the default barrel mod for the gauss rifle. - Fixed an issue which could cause Fusion cores to appear empty when place in Power Armor. - Players can now trade the Herdsman's Bell and Herdsman's Bell Rack to other players. - Paddle Ball now displays the correct ammo type when inspected.
Weapons
- Increased the base damage of the Alien Blaster and Cryolator. - Fixed an issue with how damage was calculated for the following weapons/mods: Auto Axe, Chainsaw, Minigun Shredder mod. - Increased base damage for the Auto Axe. - Adjustments to Electric/Electrified, Burning, and Poisoned mods for the following weapons: Auto Axe, Mr Handy Buzz Blade, Chinese Officer Sword, Shepherds Crook, Sheepsquatch Staff, Sheepsquatch Club, Hatchet, Assaultron Blade, Revolutionary Sword, Baton, and Vault 63 Shock Baton.
Dev Note: These weapon mods now evenly split their damage between Physical and Energy/Fire/Poison, and damage has been adjusted to account for damage being split between multiple damage types.
The Cattle Prod has also received a similar change - its damage has been adjusted and is evenly split between Physical and Energy damage.
These adjustments generally represent an increase in damage dealt.
We have also improved how we calculate the falloff for weapon damage at range. We expect this to smooth out the falloff damage for weapons that historically lost most of their damage right away. All ranged weapons benefit from this, but it should be most visible with Shotguns and Pipe Guns, as well as when fighting larger creatures such as Deathclaws.
Localization
- Fixed Various Typos. - Fixed Some Dialogue.
Quests
- Honor Bound: Fixed an issue where Vin could become hostile to the player. - One Violent Night: Fixed an issue where the Nightstalker's VFX would be applied to players multiple times, creating an extremely intense effect. - "Bots on Parade" and "A Real Blast" Fixed an issue that caused the objective to complete before the correct number of hostiles were defeated. - "Distant Thunder" Increased the objective radius to more accurately reflect the area in which Scorched can appear. - Hell's Eagles Fixed an issue that would allow players to start the quest again after completion. We also removed the second broken quest from players in this situation. - Regent of the Dead: Jordy no longer continuously starts dialogue with the player if the player exits dialogue with her before resolving the confrontation. - The quest Miner Miracles now starts correctly when interacting with the Garrahan Excavator Poster.
UI

Home is where the meat is. Or so says traveling super mutant vendor Grahm. Grahm and his best friend Chally want to throw the meatiest meat cook ever, and they need the community’s help.
During Meat Week, two seasonal public events are active. In Primal Cuts, Grahm has set up bait to draw out the most delicious wildlife. This event appears every 15 minutes at three locations in Appalachia. Bang the drum at one of these locations to start the event and survive the onslaught of hostile beasts. Invite your friends, too—these creatures mean business. Some spots have stronger enemies and will reward you with more Prime Meat. After the event, you’ll gather as much of this high-quality meat as you can carry and bring it to Grahm’s cooking camp in the Forest. Drop the meat off in the cooking cauldron for Legendary Scrip.
At the top of every hour, Grahm’s Meat Cook will start and Grahm will kick off the grilling, roasting and frying. While the amount of meat you bring is important, there are a lot of other tasks that go into throwing an epic barbeque. You’ll help Grahm by putting out fires, cleaning up and playing music to make the event a success. The better the meat cook, the happier Grahm will be!
The cookouts start today, May 21, at Noon ET and finish June 4 at Noon ET.
