Kruger, Jericho. Rank: Sergeant. Sarge to his team. Firebrand to the Rebellion.

Firebrand was there during the Three-Year Massacre. A grizzled war veteran, many of the Outcasts consider him a war hero. Sarge just feels lucky to still be alive.

Aside from being the Operatives' full assault specialist, he's also the one that brings the most heart to the team--a force to be reckoned with, never say die, always willing to fight the battle that no one else could, hoping to free humanity from the tyranny of The Balance.

These are just some of the visual references for our CQC Operative, Firebrand.

For our other operatives, read about Wildfire here, and Gatecrash here.

Great news, Operatives!

Delphyq will be taking part in the Steam Game Festival this June 2020!

Because of the Quarantine situation and Covid-19 putting a hamper on all game convention plans, in lieu of an E3 event, Valve is putting up a Festival in early June to help game developers like us showcase their upcoming releases!

During this period, there will be several things that will be made available to our fans!

1. New Demo will be up for download!

This is it, Operatives! What you've been waiting for: a brand new demo featuring all new content! We've been working hard to make sure it's ready for the Festival so we're really excited to show you what we have in store when the Festival goes live!

2. Streaming and Live Q&A with our Core Development Team

Aside from the Demo, we'll be hosting some live play sessions this coming June to showcase the demo--and hopefully, get some streamers and content creators in on the action as well!

We'll also be hosting a live Q&A with our Core Development Team sometime during the Festival. We're still finalizing the details but we are definitely going to be hosting it live on Reddit as well as our Discord Channel.

We'll be posting more updates and announcements on this soon.

Thanks and see you at the Steam Game Festival!

Privet, Operatives!

Need to crash the party? Don't worry, Dareena "Reen" Skova is here.

Reen Skova, callsign "Gatecrash", is a former VPC Tier-Two Entech engineer. Unfortunately, after being being wrongfully accused by Rassler Laurent, she was exiled to the Wastes. She joined the Operatives soon after and today, has volunteered as their Heavy Arms frontliner.

Her powerful frame and loud, booming voice make her a formidable presence on the battlefield, and her experience with working in highly volatile Omnix mining environments allows her to brave the dangers of the frontline.

Though loyal to those she considers comrades, it takes a lot to win Reen’s trust. She’s still haunted by Rassler’s treachery and waits for the day when she can finally redeem her honor.

Gatecrash is visually inspired by characters such as Brigitte from the Blizzard game Overwatch and Vasquez from the movie Aliens.

More stories of our operatives coming soon.

Greetings operatives!

Agent Incognito back again with another development update! We're trying to come up with these secret updates as often as possible, and want to make sure all of you are aware of what's going on with Delphyq development. Alongside all of the new content and features we're developing, we're  making sure all of the current bugs we encounter are squashed right away.

Without further ado, here's what we've been doing for this week.

The All New Tutorial

We're hard at work polishing the Tutorial in time for our debut at the Steam Festival of Games this coming June! We're very excited about this and we hope that when the time comes, you not only try out our brand new demo, but wishlist our game on Steam as well.

Here's a glimpse of some of the new things we have coming up in the new Tutorial.

New "Steppes" Map Labs Area Concept Art and Initial Render

The work in progress of the Steppes Map, Labs section is really a sight to behold! While the concept art for the Steppes Map is already interesting, the artist's ability to render them onto the Delphyq landscape makes it even more impressive.

Here's a look at the concept art and some of the initial 3D renders by our artist. Amazing stuff!

We can't wait for the final, polished look of the Labs map, along with all the lights, backgrounds and effects!

Full Enemy Textures

The enemies are now complete! With the artist's complete renders of the final textures for all enemy units, we now have a much clearer and more intimidating look at the enemy robots in all their glory.

The glowing veins along their limbs adds to the intimidating effect--which means they too have powered limbs and can be devastating adversaries for our Operatives on the field.

Have a closer look

Regression Testing

Here's something that we also haven't taken for granted--testing and debugging!

Currently, there are a number of minor bugs that are causing a little bit of mischief but so far we've only encountered one game-breaking bug. Our QA and development engineers were quick to squash that bug and are hoping no more big ones come out to play.

Incidentally, some of the minor bugs are actually quite endearing--and turn out to be quite the hoot when played out. We'll share those bugs in a later update to keep you guys entertained with some of the funny stuff.

For now, here's the major bug that was squished in time for the new demo: the Operator could not fire at an enemy from behind cover for some reason, and had to step out into the open just to take a shot. Obviously, that presents a very real--and dangerous--problem for your team: stepping out of cover into direct enemy fire usually results in death. So this was definitely a game breaking bug that needed fixing ASAP. Thankfully, it's no longer a problem!

Delphyq Operator Behind Cover But Not Shooting Bug

As mentioned in the previous update, we'll be sharing more updates as the weeks progress.

Also, take note that we'll be joining the Steam Festival of Games this coming June 2020. More details on that will be release in the coming weeks.

Once again thanks for sticking around! See you next update, Operative!

Delphyq - TARUGOMAN
Emilia "Rumi" Rumidian--callsign WILDFIRE--is an Outcast. She is a talented neuro-net specialist, and the Operative’s primary hacker. During operations, she takes point when it comes to network-specific aspects, cracking and bypassing Balance encryption that would otherwise prevent the group from completing their objectives.

Rumi is a student of history and has studied the events that had transpired and led to the Endless War, pored over the creation of the Balance, and finally understood what happened leading up to the Three-Year Massacre.

She believes that, by understanding and unraveling details long past, society will eventually be able to learn from its mistakes and ultimately engineer a future of their own design.

Join Rumi and the other Operatives in Delphyq now available on Steam.

Greetings operatives!

We’ve got some very interesting Delphyq updates for you today!

First of all, now that we have a full-fledged Marketing person on board, we’ll be providing more regular, weekly updates on our progress as we near Early Access launch. In line with that we’re currently aiming for Early Access by Q3 of 2020 and are working very hard to make sure we hit that Early Access launch date!

Read the full update here:
http://www.delphyq.com/delphyq-development-updates-22-april-2020/

Planning Phase Updates

The first key update for the week are the several new updates we have implemented to the Planning Phase--or what we like to internally refer to as: ‘the corkboard’--a core feature of Delphyq. These updates should allow players to plan their insertion to the T, ensuring a much higher rate of success for players.

Here’s a quick look at the Planning Phase update.

Zoomed in view: Going over the details

Trivia: Did you know that this feature was actually inspired by the original version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, which had a planning stage before the actual insertion of the operatives. Cool!

New Mission / Map WIP

The new Labs mission and map is already coming along really nicely--and it’s showing how complicated the new map will be in terms of tactics and planning (for example, there will be more elevated areas and a more articulate use of cover during combat).

Check out the screenshots of the new map

Delphyq boasts of non-traditional / circular map layouts, different from your usual strategy games that are normally square / rigid

The elevated platform featured here will be a key movement piece for the team in this map--take the high ground for the utmost advantage

Looking at the map from this angle looks weird, but it shows you how big the level really is--and how much more work still needs to be put into this mission!

Map Lighting and Polish

The team has been quite particular about making sure the lights in the latest level of Delphyq aren’t overexposed, going so far as having several lighting tests in one session just to get the right mix. Being that Delphyq is a strategy game that requires players to think on the fly--even if they’ve already planned ahead (see Planning Phase above)--and players will need as much information as they can get in order to succeed in their mission.

Having a poorly lit area might mean the difference between life and death of an operative… not to mention, players won’t be able to see the excellent details our artists put into the design of the levels!

Here’s a before and after look at some of the lighting and texture changes we’ve been implementing.

Enemy Characters Art WIP

Our artists are continually working hard at updating the art for all the elements in the game, and at this time, they are updating and improving the final polish of the enemy AI and Robots--enemies that are out to get our operatives.

Here, our artist is not only ensuring they look great for final render, she’s making sure they look badass!

“TechHead” - One of the default enemies

“Sniper” -- It looks like he has one big eye (all the better to see you with, my dead)

“Heavy Trooper” - looks like a Mech! "Today... we are cancelling... THE APOCALYPSE!"

Prologue Animation

Last but not least, the opening animation or Intro Animation for Delphyq is near completion! The artist is laying in the finishing touches already, adding effects and explosions. This is going to be EPIC! Can’t wait to show you the finished product!

Right now, this sneak peek will have to suffice… ;)

Prologue Teaser

That’s it for our updates this week! Looking forward to sharing more updates with you in the coming weeks!

Thank you, operatives! See you again soon!
