As promised, we have finally been able to push out our first major update patch of Dark Light after releasing it in May. Please keep in mind Dark Light is still in Early Access, which means we are actively working on it based on our plan and the feedbacks from each one of you.
So here is the detail:
Gem and Stone upgrade system
We have opened the Gem shop in town, which for you to upgrade your weapon in a dynamic way. You can choose to customize your favorite weapons by enhancing their elemental damage to the enemies. We have now introduced 4 elementals, which are Fire, Ice, Lightening and Poison. But be careful, each enemy has their own sensitivity to different elements. You can find those treasures by killing special enemies and in some secret areas.
Health, Energy and weapon upgrade
Upgrading your player and weapons are no longer just about currency. For your character to become stronger, you will also need to find energy stones, which means you will need to explore the world more.
Extend world, more weapons and more enemies
- To open the extended world, you will need to find a special key. Explore more, fight more! - We have introduced another elite enemy and a major boss in the extended world. Go challenge them, you will get more reward! - Of course, there will be new weapons! You will be looking for 2 more melee weapons and 1 more range weapon. All of them have rare quality. You’ll love them once mastering them.
Improved player control
Based on our Dark Hunters’ Feedback, we have improved the jump control and animation. On top of that, Dark Hunter now has parry skill! Mastering parry, you’ll have an extra useful skill to defeat an enemy.
Our next planed major update will be in November. We’ll keep working on small balancing and bug fixing patch before that. Guys, let’s stick together!
After 6 weeks since we launched our game, we wanted to reach out and keep you all updated about Dark Light’s development progress.
During these 6 weeks, we have made 4 patches in total, including this one. The main focus of these patches include bug fixing, game balancing and experience improvement.
The major bugs we have come across are the infinite loading issue for Russian users, and random black screen issue for a small number of users. Thanks to those who helped us to detect the issues with patience and trusted us to fix the issues. With your help, more people are now willing to enjoy our game.
We have taken the most frequent advice, improved player animation, which gives you are much smoother game play.
In this most recent update, we have refined our tutorial, also introduced armor system. Player now have a small chance to pick up armors or armor shards after defeating certain enemies, which will temporarily protect you from enemy attack, but will not affecting the current game balance too much.
For those yet to become a Dark Hunter, it is a good time to jump into the game as you can enjoy 20% discount on the cost of Dark Light during Steam Summer Sale.
For those who have already become veteran Dark Hunters, please stick with us. We are currently working on the new upgrading system and new content, will keep you updated about our progress.
We have updated a patch to fix the black screen issue that a small number of players randomly come across. People who have experienced black screen after splash pages should be able to play the game after updating it. Sorry for the inconvenience it caused, hope you’ll enjoy playing the game.
In the past two weeks, we have been summarizing feedbacks from all of you and trying our best to refine things. As promised, we are finally able to push out this 2nd update, to deliver a whole new player animation experience.
Update of this version include:
1. Player jump animations refinement 2. Player fall animation refinement 3. Melee weapons animations refinement and transition frames added 4. Range weapon transition animation added 5. Player vocal sound effect update 6. Enemies’ gravity force increased 7. Enemies’ health bar refinement 8. Main Menu background music added 9. Game balancing 10. Critical damage system enabled and displays

What’s next: We’ll be focusing on content development. In the next update, we’ll have an extended 2nd world with a major boss in it alone with more contents. Also, we’ll introduce a new system for upgrading player and weapons, so it will not be just saving currency anymore! We are aiming to have the major update around September, but please allow us to leave an open specific date as we might need time to solve unexpected technique issues during development.

It was a nightmare for us on the releasing day, that we have received a lot of negative reviews about the infinite loading screen issue, mostly experienced by Russian players. After overnight investigation, we have diagnosed the infinity loading issue is due to language setting.
Sincerely apologize to those who are experiencing this issue. We are currently working hard to fix it. Before our patch is ready, you can temporarily self-solving it by setting your computer default OS language to English US, and the game will run smoothly.
