Welcome to another RISK roadmap. I’m here on behalf of the RISK dev team to update you all on the future of RISK: Global Domination.

This will include new content, Prime Gaming Drops, Update 3.13 and changes coming to RISK!

Now let’s dive into what’s on the horizon for the rest of the year!



We are currently aiming to release v3.13 in November so stay tuned for updates. This will be a smaller update so that our team can commit to the multiplayer and networking overhaul we’ve been working on this year. We had hoped to release the new networking solution by 2023 but in the interest of rolling out a stable and well designed solution we are taking more time to develop this.

As we approach the final quarter of the year there will be lots to come in RISK! Here’s a roadmap of what you can expect in this quarter.

The team is currently hard at work on our last update for the year.
Our main focuses with the update are:

• Quality of life improvements based on community requests
  
• Bug fixing
  
• And more

We are currently aiming to release v3.13 in November so stay tuned for updates. This will be a smaller update so that our team can commit to the multiplayer and networking overhaul we’ve been working on this year. We’ll provide a separate update on the status of our new networking and multiplayer system in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Map Design Competition Coming Soon!

In response to popular demand, the Risk Map Design Competition will be returning for a second season on October 22nd, and will last 7 weeks.

This event lets players unleash their creativity and design their ideal Risk map, for a given theme, for a chance at winning prizes. This season the winners will be selected by guest judges from SMG, who have created the maps in Risk: Global Domination that we all know and love.

Here's a little fun fact!

Did you know Beer was seen as a perfect beverage to bring on long seaborne journeys? Beer, mead and ale are fermented, allowing a longer shelf life, which in turn allowed raiders to embark on longer expeditions without having to stop for fresh water.

Welcome to Community Bulletin #20. You may or may not notice a Viking theme throughout this bulletin. This is because the RISK team is celebrating some new Viking content!

Here’s a fun Vikings fact, did you know that they did not call themselves Vikings? While we do not know exactly what they referred to themselves as, the term Vikings is a 19th century phrase. At the time of the Vikings, other nations referred to them as Norse, Norsemen and Danes.

The team has been busy this past month! Here’s what we’ve been working on!

Networking Overhaul
The team’s been working on a Networking Overhaul for RISK. The purpose is to provide better stability to the game and improve the overall multiplayer user experience.

The team is still working hard on this overhaul and will provide more updates in the coming months. This represents a huge change to infrastructure for the game so our devs are focussed on making sure we tackle this carefully.
