As noted in our post about upcoming changes in our Roadmap post earlier this week (read here: https://giganticduck.com/bombergrounds-reborn-the-road-ahead-part-1/), we informed you that there’s some changes coming to Bombergrounds: Reborn. Today, we’re releasing part of our promise to rebalance characters to make leveling more exciting and fun.
The large Midseason patch is just around the corner – with exciting and fresh content. This is a preparation patch as we’re currently moving ahead of our schedule.
Cool changes to the Box system! 🎁
Boxes now drop more XP and Coins than ever before, to make playing the game worthwhile. We’re making this change as the chase to level up your animal will be stronger, and feel more exciting!
Here’s an example of the drops from a Mega Box!
Raised potential Coins per spin to 20-125 (up ~50%) Raised potential XP per spin to 50-150 (up ~50%) Raised minimum potential Gems per spin to 10 (up from 6) Raised maximum potential Bomb Doublers per spin to 1000 Oh, and, we also lowered the cost for each Mega Box by approximately 20 gems! 😍 They now cost a cool 39 Gems in the shop.
Starting from Season 4, the Trophy Road will reset with each new Season release! 🎉
Going forward, all new Seasons will reset your Trophy Road progress. It won’t start all the way back to zero — but close to! This means that you’ll be able to reclaim Trophy Rewards every new Season, making it possible to gain more rewards than ever before. We’ve also changed the Trophy Road rewards to accommodate for grinding Levels and spending Coins & XP cards on your favorite Animal. This is an important change that will alter the way you progress throughout the game, season by season, and to give each season a longer lifespan with a clear progression goal.
Each Players Animal Level will be visible in-game
Starting from the next patch (version 1.3.4), you’ll be able to see each players Animal Level on their animal portrait module.
Animal Balance changes The following changes have been made to animals for their leveling progression from Level 1 to Level 11. The changes done to each animal has increased the total possible stats for an animal once they reach their highest level, but have been scaled in accordance to previous balance. This means that the balance of the game is still similar to how it was before, with the exception of larger disparities from Level to Level.
These are not final changes and could be quickly changed, should we feel that it is necessary. We are making these large changes to improve the feel of leveling up, the excitement of receiving Coins and XP; and the long term progression grind that is fun and engaging for players that stay with us for the long run! ✨

The development team have implemented several changes to improve game balance. While we understand that players may have differing opinions about these changes, we believe that they are necessary for the long-term success and sustainability of the game. We value the feedback of our community and will continue to monitor the impact of these changes.
Gameplay Balance Changes
Game Mode: Battle Royale changes In order to enhance the frenetic and unpredictable nature of Battle Royale matches, we have made the following changes to address issues of slow or comfortable gameplay.
We have reduced the time it takes for cubes to start falling from the sides of the map to just 4 seconds after the start of the game, down from 60 seconds previously. Similarly, the sudden death feature now activates 25 seconds after the map has shrunk, rather than 40 seconds beforehand. We believe that these adjustments will bring back the excitement and thrill of this game mode, as it was intended to be.
Powerup Drop Rates Powerups now drop at an equal chance of 20%, when a crate drops loot. Each crate has an 80% chance of dropping loot.
Powerup: Damage (20% chance of dropping) Powerup: Speed (20% chance of dropping) Powerup: Health (20% chance of dropping)
Once a powerup drops, there is a 20% chance of it becoming a Golden Powerup, which raises the quality of the powerup by a substantial margin.
Star Drop Rates We have made adjustments to the star system in order to address imbalances that were causing players to consistently reach Star Power 3 too quickly. With these changes, we hope to make the process of achieving Star Power 3 more enjoyable and rewarding.
Crates will now drop a minimum of 2 stars and a maximum of 3 stars, as long as they contain loot. Event Discovery
We have adjusted the “new event” bomb reward up to 2 Bombs, up from previous 1 Bomb per Event Discovery.
Animal Base Stat Balance Changes
In response to player feedback regarding the overpowered state of tank melee damage, we have made the following adjustments to the animals stats. We are committed to continuously improving the balance of the game through ongoing updates based on player feedback. This is not the final iteration of our stat balancing journey, as finding the right balance takes time and ongoing player input.

Great news, Bombergrounds fans! The latest patch is here (1.1.1) and it's packed with juicy fixes and improvements to make your bomb-blasting experience even better. Here's what's new:
- We've fixed the pesky bug where your profile stats would show old information. Now, you can accurately track your kills, wins, and other stats in real time.
- We've also squashed some frustrating glitches with the game's sound effects. No more weird buzzing or skipping sounds when you're trying to focus on the action.
- We've addressed the issue where players would get stuck in custom games when someone else left. Now, you can enjoy uninterrupted bombing fun with your friends.
- Speaking of friends, we've fixed a bug where characters would get stuck in mid-air when using certain abilities. No more floating bombs or weird physics – just smooth, grounded gameplay.
- We've also fixed some ability-related issues with the Rey and Iggy characters. Rey's bomb-throwing skills are back to their full potential, and Iggy's annoying habit of jumping around has been toned down.
- The Gruff ability was causing some players to get stuck in walls or other obstacles. We've fixed this bug, so you can enjoy the full range of Gruff's explosive abilities without any unwanted side effects.
- We've also made some adjustments to the Hamsto and Hoppy abilities. Hamsto's targeting will now behave as intended, and Hoppy's ability cooldown will reset correctly even if you only use it once.
- Last but not least, we've fixed a bug where bombs would appear in one place but explode in another. This was a strange and confusing bug, but it's gone now – bombs will always behave as expected.
Thanks for playing Bombergrounds and for your patience while we worked on these fixes. If you encounter any bugs, please report them in the #bug-reports on our Discord (http://discord.gg/bombergrounds) server. We hope you enjoy the improved gameplay experience!
