Hello Travellers,

In this update, we fixed a few bugs might be carried by the V.1.0.3 Npc Roles. It's mainly solved the MODs compatibility issue. Have a detailed check below:

Update Logs:

Adjustment:
- "The Bandit of Umbra Cliffs" and "Find Rabia" now have the location hint
- Some quest status will be shown as "To be delivered", instead of ‘Completed’
- Removed the option of tribe rename for Sultan roles in Intel interface

Bug Fix:
- Fixed MODs compatibility issues.
- Fixed the wrong layer level of the Crying Rock map in Sandbox Mode
- Fixed the wrong layer level of Gobi's mini-battlefield map
- Fixed the an quest objective error in Akhal Sultan quest lines

What's new in the update?

3 New Roles

Since v.1.0 launch, We're seeing lots of players desire to play with not only 9 characters but more. 
So...In the update we've added Husnu/Akhal Sultan/Rebiya, play as the leader of the tribe, to have untasted experience in the great desert with unique Skills, Troops and Story plots.





NEW Talent & Random Quests

New Talents, after receiving the feedback, we found that it could be timing for a talent remake in the update too. Meanwhile, we also added a few more new random quests and NPC reactions in the desert to match. New roles + New talents + New random quests equal to? A new desert journey!



FPS Performance

We also focused on optimizing the performance. Under the same screen display, The current version V.1.0.3 will have a higher frame rate performance
(Internal Test: With 1650 GPU, 10- 20% FPS Improved)

Wiki's Worklogs

After releasing v.1.0, We realized that Sands of Salzaar should have more capacity and a basic lore base to serve more users who is new to this community. So in early May, we have our wiki plans: Basic Database and Fandom Wiki

Today we'd share with you a database in Beta as the initial moves, hope it could ease a few confusions the game probably would bring in the early stage. It will also be continually updated like LQA Work and we'd love to hear your voice too! CHECK HERE



Meanwhile, we also have our people to build up the Fandom wiki these days. So we'd also to ask the community to help with certain rewards to build our WIKI with UGC power. Lovely to see you in discord if you are interested!

Progress on English translation improvements

The English localization for Sands of Salzaar has received another update focused on unifying terminology, clarification, and improved quest dialogs. 


As we strive to continually polish gameplay, the rich and winding storylines of the Great Desert will see further localization improvements over the coming months. We aim to release localization improvements roughly once per month, and are more than happy to hear both your suggestions and feedback on our progress!

Translation improvements in this update include:
● More improvements to dialogues and text throughout the beginning of the main story and Spiritmancer quest lines
● Hero skills have been adjusted to ensure that skill strengths and effects are properly translated
● Improved word-order & tone inconsistency issues in NPC dialogues
● Notable terminology changes
● Tribute is now called Devotion
● Clarification on Prestige vs. Favor - the system is now unified as Favor

We appreciate your patience and hope you are excited as we are to improve the overall quality of the English translation. The next localization update will see the continued concentration on skills, specifically those utilized by troop squadrons. We aim to provide the most immersive experience possible in Sands of Salazar!




Update logs:

New Additions

- Remade UIs, including Quest, Msg, Talent and Intelligence Interface



ADJUSTMENT

- A tweak of AI Merchants mechanic, now they will be in a more reasonable way for trading and selling

- Rename function is available for own forces at any time

- A tweak of siege map & added new modules like ground barriers in the war



- Optimized all weapons (except staff) melee attack mechanic

- Now the city lord will stay at the assembly point for a day when waiting for the reinforcement, instead of a march speed reduced

- The effect of Magic crystal "Wizard Armor" is linked to its own health

- Some of equipment icon artwork remake.

- Increased the HP of camp buildings

- All buildings are now immune to knockback

- AI will not declare war on the factions with more than 20 relations

- Added guidance for Quest blacksmith and arena fight in Fleur





- Removed the invalid potion dropped by the Frost Valley, now will be replaced as HP & MP potions


BUG FIXES

- Fixed an error that the trigger probability of the passive "flaming body" of the fire demon race is only 1%

- Fixed a unexpected error reporting when the Ace knight NPC moves

- Fixed an error that Passive Skill " Auto-immolation" the trigger rate is only 1%

- Fixed a few non-response errors when talkling to NPC

- Fixed a bug caused navigation lines didn't work functionally in Sandbox mode

- Fixed A bug where skills Motion Device could not trigger stun

- Fixed a bug where skill bloodsucker's effect was not matched with the descrption

- Fixed a bug where dragonfang didn't have a bloodsuck effect

- Fixed a few unmatched gender description

- Fixed A bug where you can directly enter the lord's hall when you are at war after self-reliance

- Fixed a bug where the dialogs didn't show up after sending gifts

- Fixed a few description issues, including skill % and Stats

The long march is ongoing in the desert! Today we’d like to share a couple of things in this blog: The process of EN localization & some teasers for upcoming new content!


1. Progress on English translation improvements

A new localization version went live last Friday. In this version, we’ve proofread most of text/dialog/class storyline parts in the game. Here we would like to extend our appreciation to community players who submitted dozens of suggestions each on how in-game language could be improved.

But it’s not the final standard we pursue, the rich and winding storylines of the Great Desert will see continuous localization improvements in each of the updates leading up to the official release of Sands of Salzaar. We will keep it updated every month and it will be lovely to hear your suggestions for it :)

Translation improvements in this update include:

- Improvements to dialogues and text throughout the beginning of the main story and Spiritmancer quest lines

- Updates to various quest names and descriptions

- Fixed inconsistent code between the source and English text which could have led to errors with auto pathing

- Fixed inconsistent skill variables between source and English text

- Further clarification of terminology when talking about troops, squads, and parties

- Fixed issues with character name consistency

- Notable terminology changes

- Improved some word-order & tones inconsistency issues in the section of storyline & dialog

- Of note: March Speed is now referred to as Map Speed


We appreciate your patience and look forward to improving the overall quality of the English translation to provide the most immersive experience possible in Sands of Salzaar!


2. Teasers for the new content

2022-02-25 Update v.1.0.1.5

NEW CHANGES
- Added a new boss [Dark Wizard] in map Crying Rock



- Added a new legendary loot - Stormclould Robe by defeating Dark Wizard?

- Added new affixation [Mana Drain] (The effect will conflict with [Mana Gen])

- Slightly increased HP stats of T3 Thur Rams and lowered T4&T5 HP

- Siege weapons now deal less damage to medium/heavy Armor and light/heavy cavalry

- Slightly lowered the damage of projectile weapons against heavy cavalry armor

- Added passive skill “Wooden” for Ballista & Bombard

BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug where passive skill “Wooden” was not effective for burning, now units with this passive will receive 50% more burning effect

- Fixed a few lingering issues of map collision

- Fixed the wrong description that "attacker's initial point" was written as "defender's initial point" in the map editor

- Fixed a bug where AI Lords recruit Ballista and Bombard with a very low chance

- Fixed a bug where AI tribe attack player controlled city with a non-war declared state

- Added new side quest Boss -Dakn Alchemist in map Docana Desert



- Added a maximum limit to the positive attributes buffed by [Lawless Sword] & [Lawless Shield]



- Added an invincibility frame and slightly increased ATK Speed to [Excalibur Exemplified], and skill effect also has been replaced to [Melee attacks of holy blade] effect

BUG FIXES
- Fixed some issues of unmatched context reading, which are occasionally caused by the attendances of Tribe Lords in some random events

- Fixed a bug that caused the Command Skill of Akhal Sultan to be able to level up functionally

- Fixed a bug that the affixation of [Fanatic] is not with the quality legendary

- Fixed a bug that cause unexpected screen shakings while using [Wooden Staff] with melee attacks

It fixes some lingering issues from the previous version, including some Questline Improvements and Text Fixes, as well as a tweak of talent buffs display update.

- Added new guidance for the final boss challenge in Karakorum Mountains

- Talent buffs - [Friend of Beasts][Collaboration]&[Spirit Communicator] now will be displayed in the troop skill bar



- The effect of skills [Lawless Sword] & [Lawless Shield] now changes to level up with your HP and ATK power

BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug caused unexpected Utar abuse by trades after the talent has been fully lighted up

- Fixed a bug that caused [Blackblood Crystal] would be still displayed in the quest list after completing it

- Fixed a bug where the monster would still be generated even the quest - Wolf Den of Umbra Cliffs has not been given

- Fixed a bug that caused the animation of Threnody warp would permanently exist in some locations of Zagros Mountains

It's a patch that fixed a few bugs, optimized text display and addressed some gameplay inconsistencies and stuck that have been around in the recent patches.

In addition, we’ve also given the first try to tweak Threnody’s quest experience with dungeon mode. So if it goes well, more storyline improvements will be applied in this way, We’d love to hear feedback from you via the community channels!

- Reworked the process of Threnody's quest [Karakorum Mountains] with Dungeon Mode



- In the main quest of Husnu, removed the option that NPC would give players an order to destroy the other four tribes.

- In the main quest of Akhal Sulta, removed the option that NPC would give players instruction to destroy the DAKN tribe

- Added new guides for the quest Into the Abyss - The Nasir, now it will be listing out which personal quests are needed to be done to complete this questline

As the title of this post mentions, today’s update features a new adjustment of Difficulty Balance, which draws a more clear curve between each difficulty level, as well as the favor system, it should turn into a more worth investing in-game section since now the connections are not that fragile after some tweaks have been made

Hope you’re having fun playing Sands of Salzaar. The second patch of 2022 - V.1.0.0.9 just went out. It fixes some lingering issues from the previous version, including Text fixes, UI Display improvements and Adjustments of quest and combat stats, etc. Below is the full changelogs:

2021-1-7 Salzaar Update Log (V1.0.0.9)

NEW ADDITIONS
- Added new guidance for Quest - Missing Neighbor

- Added 6 new skills for legacy store - [Transcendent], [Iron Lung], [Storm Shelter],[Hunting Mastery], [Meditation] and [Seasoned Warrior]



ADJUSTMENTS
- When conferred an NPC that is not in the team as a city lord, The favor increase has been changed from 10 to 15

- Some changes for the plot quest of Alaf Jahim, including a boss nerf & adjustment of character skill

- Removed some skills from the legacy store, which players can learn on the skill page

BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug that caused unexpected favor system abuse by using recall & kick-out operations after granting fief to a team member

- Fixed some translation issues in some quest descriptions

- The stats for Yaya in the plot quest has been changed, now the stats will be generated dynamically by player build instead of system-settled stats

- Fixed a bug that caused wrong skill purchase in legacy store when playing as the Nameless

- Fixed skill [Psychic Armor] unmatched description with the actual effect

- Fixed some unmatched Shards descriptions with the actual required condition

- Fixed some unmatched affix descriptions with the actual stats

OPTIMIZATIONS
- Optimized the UI display in EXP accounts when troops or characters reach MAX. levels (Previously was displayed as 0 EXP)

- Optimized the collision area of Argil Camp

- Optimized some text display issues, eg: missing Percent signs
