Trailer left you hungry for more details about Phantom Liberty? Join our Narrative Director Igor Sarzyński and Senior Communication Manager Paweł Burza in a deep dive into all the nitty-gritty details you might have missed!
We are happy to announce that with the release of Phantom Liberty, we’re adding Ukrainian text localization to Cyberpunk 2077. Starting from September 26th, 2023, it will be available for both the base game and the expansion.
Localization Project Manager Mariia Strilchuk, who supervised the creation of Ukrainian text for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty, shared her thoughts on the news: “I’m incredibly happy that Ukrainian gamers will soon be able to immerse themselves in the world of Cyberpunk in our native language. We at CD PROJEKT RED wanted to show our recognition of and support for this part of our community, and I’m personally filled with pride and joy knowing that I was able to help make it a reality. I can’t wait to share the results of our work with you this September.”
Senior Localization Project Manager Alexander Radkevich, who has overseen the production of Ukrainian localization, provided some behind-the-scenes details: "Bringing Ukrainian localization to Cyberpunk 2077 was an interesting challenge for us as a Localization team. It's always intriguing to add new languages to an already existing game, especially to such a massive project like Cyberpunk 2077. We also worked on the base game and the expansion at the same time, which added a layer of complexity. It took us over a year to translate and adapt way more than a million words of dialogues, in-game texts, and interfaces, followed by extensive testing to ensure the best experience for our Ukrainian-speaking players. I sincerely hope that our Ukrainian community will enjoy every minute of it.”
As we kick off the pre-orders for Phantom Liberty, we want to update our current system requirements to ensure that players have a better understanding of what will be needed to run Cyberpunk 2077, and make it easy to assess the expected performance. These changes will take effect following the next update to the base game, no earlier than 90 days, and also apply to Phantom Liberty.
The new system requirements are designed to be more up to date, adding support to new GPUs not available at launch, and targeting a resolution output of either 1080p or 4K for specific in-game presets.
The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset. The reason for making these changes is that updating the requirements is an important part of the game improvement process, and of enhancing and adding new features.
One of the changes is the choice to stop supporting HDDs for the minimum requirements – SSDs offer faster loading times, improved streaming, and better overall performance when compared to HDDs.
It’s important to highlight that it doesn’t mean the game will stop working on the previous minimum requirements. However, following the next update to the base game we will discontinue active support for them and stop testing the game on those setups.
Note that the presented FPS data is based on internal testing. Performance may vary depending on your particular PC hardware and software configuration, any changes made to individual graphics settings or resolution output. Check out the updated system requirements below.
How to read it: To achieve an average of 30 FPS with a 1080p resolution, please use the hardware and software configuration of the given level at “minimum”, while having the in-game graphics preset set to low.
Phantom Liberty, a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, arrives on September 26th! Return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President. In the dangerous district of Dogtown, you must forge alliances within a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations. Do you have what it takes to survive?
A hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 is out now! Among others, it fixes the two most frequent crashes, including the one occurring during the final quest. Dynamic Resolution Scaling setting will now consistently grey out when Path Tracing is enabled.
The update won't change the version of the game visible in the main menu but might still affect mods.

Patch 1.62 for Cyberpunk 2077 is out now! This update brings the technology preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode for high-end PCs.
Together with NVIDIA, we’re bringing a completely new, fully ray-traced, aka path-traced, rendering mode to the game with this patch – Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode. We’re proud of it. It pushes the boundaries of what's possible in technology. However, because it is so new and fundamentally different from what we've been using so far, we know it's not going to be perfect from the start and players might experience some issues – that’s why we’ve decided to call it a “Technology Preview”. This is a vision of the future that we want to share, and we're committed to continue working on and improving this feature.
The technology preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode is currently recommended on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series (4070 Ti and up) graphics cards. Also, on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 (1080p, 30 fps). As this is a cutting-edge feature, it requires the highest-performing hardware available to run it properly. Ray Tracing: Overdrive is very GPU intensive, therefore it’s set to ""off"" by default.
For other ray-tracing-capable PC graphics cards with at least 8GB VRAM, we included an option to render path-traced screenshots in Photo Mode. This is possible because it means rendering just one frame, as opposed to rendering several frames every second (i.e. FPS), which would happen when playing the game.
You'll find the list of changes for patch 1.62 below:
Path Tracing: Technology Preview
Added a Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset which includes the Path Tracing technology. You can enable the Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset in Settings > Graphics > Quick Preset, or just Path Tracing separately in Settings > Graphics in the Ray Tracing section. To make sure Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode works correctly on your PC, update your NVIDIA Game Ready Driver to version 531.41 at minimum. Additionally, we included an option to render path-traced screenshots in Photo Mode for other Ray-Tracing-capable graphics cards with at least 8GB VRAM. If you graphics card has more than 8GB VRAM and this option is still greyed out, it means you need to lower your in-game resolution. Note that the higher the resolution and the less powerful the GPU is, the longer it will take to take a screenshot (between a few seconds to several minutes). You can enable Path Tracing for Photo Mode in Settings > Graphics in the Ray Tracing section.
DLAA
Added NVIDIA DLAA, an AI-based anti-aliasing mode designed to improve image quality. DLAA requires a NVIDIA RTX graphics card. It can be enabled in Settings > Graphics in the NVIDIA DLSS section.
Intel XeSS
Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.1, an upscaling technology using machine learning to provide improved performance with high image quality. It can be enabled in Settings > Graphics in the Resolution Scaling section.
Benchmark improvements
Improved the Benchmark to display more information in the results screen, including PC specs, GPU driver version and selected settings.
