Dearest reader, I bring you tragic and wonderful news. A wealthy long-lost relative has died (oh no!) and bequeathed you their estate (oh ho!) but with one unusual condition (o-oh?). Should you wish to claim their riches, titles, and mansion, you must fully accept into your heart and life one of two new ludicrous 1/4-scale video game statues. From now until your end, you shall live surrounded by them. Tell me, reader dear: will it be the giant Nier: Automata trio or the 51cm Cyberpunk 2077 Keanu Reeves?
Here it is, your regularly scheduled Cyberpunk 2077 news courtesy of CD Projekt Red’s most recent Night City Wire. On Friday’s stream, senior quest designer Patrick K Mills said that the game’s story campaign will be shorter than The Witcher 3‘s because players complained about how long it took to finish Geralt’s adventure.
“We got a lot of complaints about The Witcher 3’s main story just being too long,” he said. “And looking at the metrics, you see tremendous amounts of people played through that game really far, but never made it to the end.”
In yet another Cyberpunk 2077 news brief, CD Projekt Red have talked more about Night City’s layout, gangs, and revealed the PC system specifications you’ll need to run their biggo RPG. For a city that seems so big, the tech you’ll need to visit it is quite small. It will apparently only take up 70GB of storage space and will run with an Nvidia GTX 780 GPU.
CD Projekt Red have been clear about their ‘no microtransactions’ policy for Cyberpunk 2077 the singleplayer RPG for ages, but their vagueness on Cyberpunk multiplayer has caused trouble and confusion. This week they clarified yes, the Cyberpunk online doodad due after launch will have microtransactions, but no, they’re not liars because this is a separate project. I’m not surprised that some fans have been confused, because the exact nature of Cyberpunk’s multiplayer side has often been hazy – whether it’s a separate game or just a mode – and spoken of in business language on business calls. Time to be clear, CDPR.
Hot off the heels of last night’s [cms-block] reveal, we also got new ray tracing trailers for Cyberpunk 2077, Minecraft, Watch Dogs Legion, and the newly announced Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I’ve collected them altogether below, but the Cyberpunk 2077 one is particularly shiny, if only because it’s a new “max settings 4K trailer” showing CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG at its very best. Let’s take a look
Ray tracing is the big buzz word of 2020 in PC gaming, and more ray tracing games have just been announced during today’s big [cms-block] RTX 3000 reveal. To help you keep track of them all, we’ve created this list of all the confirmed ray tracing games you can play on PC right now, as well which this year’s [cms-block] will get ray tracing support in the future. And because ray tracing tends to go hand in hand with Nvidia’s performance-boosting DLSS tech these days, we’ve also listed all the current and upcoming games that support DLSS, too.
