  • Buff Dragons are now playable for everybody! Thank you Kickstarter backers for testing the DLC functionality! It works!
  • Added new admin command /CLEARNPCS which removes all living NPCs in world and forces a respawn
  • Added new admin command /CLEARCORPSES which removes all corpses in world, both player and npc

CHANGED STUFF
  • Living AI now auto respawn themselves if idle for too long
  • AI corpses no longer despawn if being carried by a player
  • Picking up AI corpses resets their despawn timer
  • Adjusted spawn locations of AI to prevent them from spawning below the terrain
  • Fire Wyverns can no longer flick Inferno on/off/on/off/on/off... you get the picture.

FIXED STUFF
  • Buff Dragons should no longer freeze in place if dismounting while holding the movement modifier
  • Fixed a server crash

  • Eating and drinking bug has officially been squashed. Players should have no issues eating or drinking now. Simply look at the food or water and hold interact (E)
  • Plasma Dragons should no longer be able to carry bananasaurus corpses
  • The Admin /reset pid command now also moves player to force an unstuck
  • Buff Dragons now get a message prompt notifying them that they buffed another player
  • Buff Dragons can no longer dig when resting... seriously how is that even possible?
  • Player group nametags should now work again after portalling to another biome
  • Adjusted spawns rates and locations slightly
  • Players can no longer pick up resting dragons
  • Players can no longer use interact when resting
  • Boss bananasaurus now properly spawns in the graveyard

  • Added Buff Dragon which is only selectable by owners of the Kickstarter Original Backers Rewards Pack DLC. This dragon has the ability (V) to reduce growth times of other dragons allowing players to grow to adult faster. Buff lasts for 10 minutes and can be refreshed.

  • Increased growth times for all dragons back to normal now that server persistence is in

  • Corpse despawn timer is now based on the growth of the corpse, hatchlings despawn much faster than adults
  • Baby pickups are now based on mass. You can pick up any dragon now that is less than half your mass. (still must be grouped if it is not a corpse)
  • Changed /die command and added a 15 minute cooldown to prevent abuse/spamming
  • Removed Christmas stuff
  • It's no longer winter in the redwoods
  • Remove all static corpses from the dune desert and redwoods
  • Can now use calls when flying
  • Adjusted nametag position
  • Leaving group now releases you from being carried or removes your rider
  • Bite hitboxes have been adjusted
  • Interact now prioritizes food over water
  • Reduced the time needed to hold "E" to interact with food or water
  • Eating corpses and drinking water should now be easier

Introducing our first Amphithere! The Blitz Striker.

The Blitz Striker is a lightning fast flier, but slow on the ground. It normally hunts smaller prey which it stuns with it's lightning attack and then swallows the incapacitated prey alive. It's special ability is an electric pulse that is charged and then released in a shock-wave that stuns all nearby targets. The stun duration is based on the electricity resistance of the targets. Blitz Strikers are inherently immune to electricity, even lightning strikes do not phase them.

Day of Dragons - Bad Parrot


"If its crushing jaws alone weren't enough to deter rivals, this wyvern has another trick up its sleeve. Be wary approaching this beast, the Inferno Ravager has well earned its name."

We are proud to formally introduce the second of our custom made dragons, the Inferno Ravager!

The Inferno Ravager is known for its ability of using specialized pores running down its body which expels a gaseous form of its bile. With a spark of its Fire Breath, the gas catches fire and engulfs the wyvern. With high fire resistance protecting itself, this special ability has been named Inferno after the beast itself.



Though it may be best known for its defensive trait, the Inferno Ravager is not a submissive breed. Its jaws are powerful and can crush through even the strongest armor. A Hunter class dragon, rivals beware.

Introducing our first Drake! The Acid Spitter is a fast, agile, and highly resistant drake that excels in packs. It's special ability is its acid attack that debuffs targets resistances and drains their stamina. To see a preview of the Acid Spitter model and skins made by Jia Hao and sounds made by Simon Chylinski, check out the video below. You will also notice "First Flight" playing in the background, composed by Rey Fernandez Jr. and recorded by Budapest Scoring.

Day of Dragons - Bad Parrot
Hello again!

It's time for part two of our development team introduction. Say hello to the last two members of the current team, Jao and Vatalia!

Jao
I am Jao, pronounced Jay-Oh. I'm the Creator/Lead Developer/Programmer of Day of Dragons and Owner of Beawesome Games, LLC. I work with all the other developers to guide the creative direction of the game. This includes concept design, music, sound, visual fx, and animation.

When I'm not doing that I'm either playing with my dogs, feeding my dogs, letting my dogs out to go potty, bathing my dogs, petting my dogs, or programming in Unreal Engine while my dogs bring me their toys. I love animals and dragons are animals that we can make into whatever we want them to be, including heroes instead of villains. I'm an animal hoarder, I've had dogs, cats, raccoons, hamsters, rabbits, hermit crabs, turtles, some fish, and a mourning dove with a broken wing that I rescued from my cat and nursed back to health then set freeeeeeeeeee. Fun fact, before I wanted to make video games, I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I love learning, it's one of my passions. I've attended 3 colleges and a trade school for a total of 21 semesters learning that I could just have bought all the books and read them and learned everything on my own for a whole lot cheaper. Hindsight is 20/20 right? Wait... it is 2020.... ːsteamhappyː

In addition to being a computer/animal nerd, I'm also a sci-fi nerd, marvel, lord of the rings, original star wars (don't get me started on the new trilogy). I also love to sing, play instruments, read, and write.

Vatalia
Hello my name is Vatalia! As part of the DoD dev team I help with 2D creature concepts. Also I help the game look pretty by testing and providing feedback on any visual and mechanical bugs or issues. I will also be working along side our animator to bring you realistic dragon and AI movements.

Some things about me is that I went to college (suprising right?) And completed my course for animation art and design. Um...I enjoy gaming and definitely having parrot force me to write about myself, not to mention having her parrots scream in my ears when shes in VC. Oh how they love to scream.... and I love cookies and fruit salad. I am dragon momma! I will steal all the babus and make a dragon babu battle arena! I look forward to flying with you all!

Question One
Q: Previously updates regarding the game were being provided via discord, going forward where will information regarding the game be posted?

Rose: We will be providing patch note updates and information regarding Day of Dragons via the steam page first and then shared on discord afterwards moving forward.

Question Two
Q: How many regions of color will the dragons have? Will it all be just one set color palette?

Jao: Each dragon will have its own unique patterns which will be comprised of one to five colors that will be used to create the "skin" variations for each dragon.

Question Three
Q: Why wasn't an animator hired sooner?

Vat: We had a specific animator/rigger picked out and this person had a contract until January. We are very picky about who we bring on board. We want someone who is a more realistic animator to bring you a better experience being a dragon.

Q: What happened to Jao?

Day of Dragons - Jao
I'd like to introduce to you all the Plasma Dragon. A dragon with the ability to turn itself invisible and that acts as a glass cannon class in the game, high damage ranged plasma shot with low health. Fast in the air, a little clumsy on the ground and in water, this dragon was made to fly and stalk the night.



The Plasma Dragon (official name to be revealed later) is our 3rd custom dragon concept to be revealed and completes the Rock < Paper < Scissors dynamic in the base game. Also revealed is the Plasma Dragon Egg which would be incubated by the Plasma Dragon when our nesting system is implemented.
