This Week at Bungie, we talk 30th Anniversary release, Trials Labs (Freelance), and QOL updates!

Welcome to our final TWAB before the 30th Anniversary release. It’s an exciting time. Just a few more days stand between you and some fresh Destiny 2 experiences. We have some fun news to get through today, so let’s get to it! We’ll start you off with a recap of our Game2Give Charity announcement, some news on Trials: Freelance, and then a few fun patch notes previews.

This week at Bungie, we are celebrating Gjallardays.

Early TWAB this week, but it’s also a short one. Since last week we dropped a six-thousand-word thesis, that will hopefully hold you over. Here in the U.S., we have a short week due to a turkey-related holiday where many thanks are given. Wherever you are and whatever holidays you have coming up, we hope you get to spend some time with your families. But feel free to sneak away to play some Destiny if the parade is dragging on and the Lions game has gotten out of hand.

This week at Bungie, we take a look at every grain in the abilities sandbox.

Hello, and welcome to another sandbox-focused TWAB. If you’re new around these parts, you may be asking, “What’s a sandbox?” — well, it’s complicated. It's split between the weapons you use, the armor you equip, the perks and mods that you hunt for, and the enemies you face. Let's be real; the Destiny 2 sandbox is broad. Last week, we focused on the weapons sandbox and what changes are planned for December 7. This week, we’re taking a pass on the abilities your Guardian possesses. Think Supers, Melee's, Grenades, Class abilities. I highly recommend you grab a glass of water and maybe even a snack, because we've got a pretty lengthy update for you to read.

Before we dive into the details, it’s customary to have a TWAB intro discussing what’s going on in the realm of Bungie and Destiny. Let’s keep this short and sweet, shall we?
  • Our 30th Anniversary is out on December 7, which just so happens to be 19 days from the publication of this blog article.
  • In-game, there’s still plenty to do between Seasonal Challenges, Trials of Osiris, the occasional Iron Banner, vendor reputation, god-roll hunting, and more.
  • Next Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the states, and many of us will be taking some time to rest up and spend time with family.
  • As such, expect a very light TWAB next Wednesday.

Alright, Sandbox time. Let’s get to it.

There are buffs, there are nerfs, there are tuning levers that we’ve recently unlocked with back-end changes, there are clear separations between PvE and PvP... and more.

There is a lot going on here, so don’t feel bad if you scratch your head wondering how these upcoming changes will feel. If you find anything a bit confusing, please sound off with questions! We’ll clarify as we can on our forums and social spaces. With all that preamble out of the way, I'll finally shut up and pass the mic over to the team.

This week at Bungie, we got guns over here.

We have a lot to cover this week so I am going to keep this intro short so we can get into it. We have a new emblem for you, new Trials Labs info, a long list of weapon changes, a new fashion magazine cover, more Bungie Bounties, and a partridge in a pear tree. Actually, scratch the last one, it’s only November.

Visit Bungie.net to check out the full TWAB.

This week at Bungie, we set our sights on a slew of Bungie Bounties!

While we may be sad that Festival of the Lost has concluded, Lord Saladin is having a bit of fun. Iron Banner is back, and a little brighter than what you may remember. A pesky little bug prevented the Iron Forerunner sets from lighting with a brilliant flame during our first Iron Banner event of the season. Now, as many players have discovered, these armor sets burn brightly during Iron Banner weeks.

Complete matches, turn in tokens, and complete your weekly bounties for chances at high-stat rolls on these armor pieces.

While Trials is on a short hiatus for Iron Banner week, we do have some details from the team on matchmaking. We are also announcing two weeks of Bungie Bounties, inviting you to share your stories for the Heroes Welcome campaign, refreshing our Prime Rewards offerings, and more!

This week at Bungie, we’re replacing the Flawless pool.

We are about to hit the fever pitch of spookiness. Ghosts are around every corner, and we don’t mean the friendly type that revives you after taking too much damage. Sadly, that means that it’s almost time to start packing up the Tower decorations and saying goodbye to Eva Levante. It’s the final week of Festival of the Lost, you have until the reset on Tuesday November 2 to finish your books, eat your candy, and wrap up any unfinished business you have with the event.
We’ve recently fixed up some issues with Candy and Spectral Page drops from Public Events and Trials of Osiris, so if you’re still jamming out some pages to finish your book, don’t sleep on these activities! Throw on a mask, eat some candy, and earn some rewards.
While you are extracting whatever loot you can from the Headless Ones, Trials of Osiris will also start up tomorrow and run until the FOTL ends at reset as usual. We got a fix in so you will still earn pages even if you lose the match. And that is not all we are changing...

Check out the full TWAB on Bungie.net.
Destiny 2 - dmg04
This week at Bungie, we look to Trials Freelance, fashion, and pumpkins.

Festival of the Lost is in full swing! If you haven’t donned a mask and earned some candy yet, get to it. Eva has goodie bags, Exotic cosmetics, and a refreshed collection of fun masks for you to earn over the course of the event. Word on the street is that Public Events are the go-to for Spectral Pages nowadays, so if you’re still on the hunt for a perfectly rolled Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle, join some friends to jam ‘em out!

If you’re looking for a challenge outside of the Festival, we have a few options for you. Grandmaster Nightfall features Exodus Crash this week, sending shivers down the spines of many Guardians who’ve been with us since Destiny 2 launched all those years ago. The Comedian Shotgun and Shadow Price Auto Rifle are dropping from Nightfalls this week. If you’d like a shiny Adept version, Grandmaster is the difficulty for you. Shattered Realm and Astral Alignment can also be played at Legend difficulty to round out a few Triumphs for the Seasonal “Realmwalker” Seal. Sure, you can try to take on the challenge with smaller fireteams or even solo, but we highly recommend forming a fireteam before taking the plunge.

This weekend will be host to a few things. We have our second Trials Labs offering at 10 AM Pacific tomorrow, and a few FotL-themed contests to kick off.

This week at Bungie, we celebrate Festival of the Lost 2021.

It’s officially the spookiest time of year and we have begun our celebration of fright-filled fun with our annual celebration and remembrance of those we've lost. This year we kicked things off with a rawr.

Yeah, #TeamDino is the hottest costume this year, but that’s not all we’ve got up our sleeves. If you're up for a scary fun activity, check out the new Haunted Sectors playlist. There are spooky stories, exploding pumpkin heads, and loot galore. Don’t forget about getting lots and lots of candy now that you have extra-long sweet tooths... teeth? Go check out our Festival of the Lost page for more details.

Check out the http://en/Explore/Detail/News/50782 for more on Festival of the Lost, a new difficulty coming to Astral Alignment next week, and more.

Remember the Lost

Eva Levante invites you to join a Last City tradition that celebrates the light we find in the darkness. Gather round the campfire with your fellow Guardians, dig into your overflowing bags of candy, and fondly recount the tales of those who were lost but will never be forgotten.

Haunted Sectors

An Exo and a Vex Mind have merged to become something... new, a Guardian on Nessus is being hunted for their Ghost, and headless creatures prowl through the dark chasms of the Moon. Grab your favorite mask, join a fireteam, and embark on three new tales of terror.

Book of the Forgotten

A book filled with memorable characters and heroic deeds—well, almost filled. If you can find the missing pages and avoid smudging the words with chocolate, you’ll have quite a story to tell. When you do, make sure the flashlight is directly under your chin.

Shh... Did You Hear that?

It’s probably just the wind. The wind or the new Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle. Either way, it’s midnight and no one’s sleeping until you go check. And honestly, what’s the worst that could happen: You cruise back to camp on an Exotic Sparrow with a bunch of new cosmetics? It pays to be brave, Guardian.

#TeamDino

Earlier in the year, the Destiny community played a major hand in solving an impossible choice Bungie needed to make. And although the slugfest was spirited, in the end, it was the bellowing roar of dino-victory that rang triumphantly through the streets of the Last City.

Thank you to everyone who participated. #TeamDino ornament sets are now available in the Eververse store.

Bump in the Night

Don’t know the meaning of fear? Was Presage a walk in the park? Are you the scariest thing about a Haunted Sector? Eva has the perfect emblem to help you show off your nerves of steel.
