The holiday season has officially kicked off in Bungie's shared-world shooter MMO, and that means you have some Destiny 2 Dawning recipes to bake. Not only do you have some exclusive seasonal rewards to grind for, you can get baking without any of the mess or washing up. Lovely.
Speaking of rewards, you can earn the legendary Cold Front SMG by handing in your first gift to Zavala, and the new seasonal Sparrow, Alpine Dash. The latter requires you to craft Destiny 2 Fractal Rolls, a new Dawning 2019 recipe, along with Dark Chocolate Motes, plus bake 50 treats. Once you've unlocked the SMG, which is an aggressive frame archetype (ie the same as Huckleberry), you'll also be able to get random perk rolls on subsequent drops. We'll be hunting for the Feeding Frenzy/Kill Clip combo.
There's plenty more rewards on offer from cooking up a storm and handing the gifts out to the game's NPCs, including valuable enhancement prisms and cores. So get ready to bake yourself silly. Here's how to make all the recipes, old and new:
Below you'll find tall the Destiny 2 Dawning recipes and who should receive them. Each shows you the ingredients that must be cooked in Eva's Holiday Oven 2.0 to create the tasty treats, with some handy hints as to where you can get them all at the bottom of the page.

It's one thing knowing what items you need to get for your fantasy kitchen and tracking down each ingredient is quite another. Here's how to get all the ingredients mentioned above:
Destiny 2's annual festive event, The Dawning, has returned, and with it the important holiday tradition of spending money on ornaments for your funky sci-fi guns. This year, Eververse is fit to burst with ornaments, emotes and ships. Alongside the regular offerings is a long list of event items, and collectors will need to part with a hefty sum if they want them all.
Nearly 50 items have been squeezed into Eververse for the event, and some are bundles that contain yet more items. They're not all brand new, and a few of them are class-specific, but there's still a lot to buy. For the lot, you'd be looking at around 26,000 Silver. You can currently get 6,000 Silver for £39.99/$49.99, so for everything the bill would come to around £180/$220.
While you'll need to spend Silver for most of the event stock, you can still do some shopping just with Bright Dust. The Northlight Hunter Bundle, for instance, costs 1,500 Silver or 6,000 Bright Dust, while the Baking Cookies emote will set you back 1,000/3,250. Some are only available for Bright Dust, like the Dawning Bauble Shell and Subitko Mk. 9, a Ghost shell and vehicle that cost 400 and 600 Bright Dust respectively.
The Winterview Shell might be my favourite thing in the shop at the moment, as it turns your Ghost into a cute snowglobe. The Polar Vortex Sparrow is pretty snazzy, too, letting you ride around on an a flying polar bear. I've kicked my Destiny 2 habit, though, so no frivolous spending for me this year.
If you chat to Eva Levante, you can also start baking tasty treats and eventually earn yourself a new Sparrow. To give you a leg up, here's how to make Fractal Rolls and get closer to completing the quest. This, thankfully, you can do for free.
How do you make Fractal Rolls in Destiny 2? The Dawning annual event in Bungie's interstellar MMO is back for the festive season, and that means you have myriad Destiny 2 Dawning recipes to make and put towards an early Christmas present: the Alpine Dash seasonal Sparrow.
Successfully completing the Fractal Rolls recipe will help you get a step closer to completing the Spreading Cheer quest, which rewards you with this swish ship. You'll also need to bake at least 50 holiday gifts including the Dark Chocolate Mote recipe from last year to finish the mission.
Destiny 2's Fractal Rolls are one of the new recipes to hit The Dawning this year and you're going to want to make it for Brother Vance on Mercury if you want to maximise your festive rewards. So I've put together the following guide to all the ingredients you need and how to get them as easily as possible.
You need to combine the following ingredients to make the baked goods Brother Vance is looking for:
Vex Milk is an easy one: killing any Vex anywhere in the galaxy has the chance to drop the item. This is a common ingredient in The Dawning's recipes, so it's worth spending a little time farming some Vex kills. For Pinches of Light, pick up Orbs of Light generated from other Guardians' supers, or from multikills with masterworked weapons. You can also get a guaranteed drop from Eva Levante's Guiding Light bounty, which rewards the item once you've collected 20 Orbs of Light.
You get Essence of Dawning by completing any in-game activity. Each round of Crucible will earn you 12, for instance, making one of the more efficient methods for earning essence.
Once you have all the ingredients, put them all together in Eva's Holiday Oven 2.0 and give your freshly-baked Fractal Rolls to Brother Vance in the Lighthouse on Mercury to complete the quest. And once you're there, complete a round of the Destiny 2 Sundial and the A Matter of Time quest to get your new seasonal artefact, if you haven't already.
With snow a-falling, sleigh bells a-jingling, and cookies a-baking, ’tis the season to remember the man who sacrificed his life so humanity might be saved: Saint-14. The legendary Titan of Destiny 2 died after centuries trapped fighting robots who ultimately built a machine to murder specifically him and only him, but today we can save him. As the Season Of Dawn rolls on, from today we can use some ‘science’ to travel through time and let Saint-14 live again. Destiny 2’s Christmas event, The Dawning, started today too but I’m here to celebrate my pal coming home for Christmas. Well, due to be coming home. Pending a bug fix.
Like a scampish nephew in a Christmas romantic comedy who keeps popping up pulling pranks on his career-obsessed spinster aunt to remind her that maybe she does want a family and children of her own after all, Destiny 2 gun Telesto has once again developed a bug making it ha-ha-hilariously overpowered. Telesto fires a spray of sticky proximity mines instead of energy zaps, see, and those have caused all sorts of problems over the years by something deep in the gameguts treating mines as enemies. The latest prank lets players use Telesto mines to generate infinite Special ammo.
Destiny has always had a confusing, convoluted story - and so its timeline of events has ever been a vague collection of pieced-together entries by fans doing the best they can with snippets of lore scattered across the game's various gubbins.
But recent developments have caused Destiny lore nerds to rewrite the past - with one group of fans putting together a useful - and incredibly detailed - timeline of events that offers a more accurate summary of Bungie's expansive universe.
THERE MAY BE SPOILERS AHEAD.
Destiny fans can find an update on a familiar former villain hidden away within Destiny 2's new Season of Dawn update.
The fresh lore has been datamined from an exotic ship, the Amnestia-S2, which is due to go on sale via Destiny's premium currency Eververse store. Or or you can just read about it below.
(Oh, and if I've you've not played Destiny 2's 2018 expansion Forsaken yet for some reason, then beware spoilers for that.)
What does the Destiny 2 Sundial activity entail? Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn has launched and at its centre lies a mysterious time machine, and the Red Legion want to capture it for their own use. This magnificent monument was created by Osiris in an attempt to save Saint-14, but it was unsuccessful.
But in the Season of Dawn, the Sundial serves another purpose: it gives us a new activity. So I'm here to talk you through its ins and outs, up and downs, and give you the tips and tricks needed to see you through.
The Sundial sees a team of six Guardians attempting to score enough points from various challenges to reach a final boss. Much like The Menagerie, the encounters can rotate and the speed at which you can complete an encounter is tied to your performance in each wave. It appears so far that you'll need to complete a minimum of two waves after the ascent.
First you need to complete a few quest steps to get the Sundial working. When the new season starts Ikora sends you on the Destiny 2 A Matter of Time quest, which starts with a visit to Mercury and a chat with Osiris in front of the Sundial. The quest involves some resource farming and some trips to the Tangled Shore, but it eventually leads you back to a now-accessible Sundial activity.
There are four encounters that I'm currently aware of in the Sundial, excluding the boss. You may not see all of these encounters if you perform well, but it’s important to know how to tackle each one.
With the Season of Dawn content in the Destiny 2 roadmap in mind, there are four possible end bosses: Niruul, Ozletec, Tazaroc, and Inotam. It’s not currently known if these bosses will have different arenas, but this guide will be updated if that's the case. So far, here's how to beat Niruul.
Niruul works largely like any other boss in Destiny 2: it hits hard, has a mechanic that prevents you from dealing damage, and boasts a potential one-hit-kill move. As you fight it, you may get caught in a purple sphere: if you don’t escape it, you'll die. To get out, pay attention and shoot the lighter area of the bubble that captures you.
While dodging purple balls and bringing the pain to Niruul, there comes a point where it gains an impenetrable shield. Like the Datamine encounter, you must punch Psion Commanders to break the shield. The number of Psions start at one, but they will increase by one each time the boss gains a shield until you finish the encounter.
Once you beat the boss, you are transported back to the Sundial mechanism and rewarded for your efforts. This week it's the Steelfeather Repeater auto rifle and the Breachlight sidearm, but they come with randomised perks. That said, these rewards may change.
This is a fairly straightforward activity, but it's important to know what you're up against. You'll likely be fighting foes with solar shields, so a solar weapon and subclass are recommended, but packing some void equipment will help against the Vex Minotaurs.
In terms of team composition, it'll help to have a wave-clearing super and some form of defensive/support super, like a Titan bubble or Warlock Well of Radiance, especially when it comes to the Datamine encounter. Finally, make sure you level up your seasonal artefact to unlock anti-barrier rounds and unstoppable rounds, and watch the Sundial rewards roll in.
