For a good while, we have seen what the good folks over at Makeship have been doing with plush for some of our favorite games (Spiffo from Project Zomboid) and our favorite creators (Khaios has done several). So, when they reached out to us to see if we might be interested in expanding the Terraria plush lineup in new directions, we thought it sounded like a great idea! Terraria is so full of items, monsters, and more that could make some amazing plushies.
What we have planned with Makeship is a series based upon some of the more popular armor sets in Terraria - starting today with the Hallowed Armor!
Crafted from the finest Hallowed Bars and the souls of vanquished mechanical monstrosities, Hallowed Armor protects the hero from all manner of evil that awaits in the world of Terraria!
Our Hallowed Armor plush comes complete with the legendary sword Excalibur as well as a Pickaxe Axe - the ideal tool for both delving deep underground and gathering wood. You can place one in the hands of the plush and strap the other to its back for safe keeping.
We think it looks pretty awesome - and we hope that you agree. Now, we need your support to be sure that our Hallowed friend (and future armor sets and more that we have planned) makes it all the way to production and beyond. To place your order or to find out more, click the banner/image above or the link below!
Makeship utilizes a unique method for determining whether or not a plush gets manufactured and shipped out to players. Essentially, each campaign goes out as a preorder for a set period of time - for this campaign, that will be 21 days - and if the plush orders meet the minimum quantity needed (200), the plush gets made and shipped out to everyone that bought one. If it doesn't hit that level, then no one is out a dime - but sadly, our Hallowed Armor plush will only ever exist as a concept.
The short version:
The Hallowed Armor Plush will be available for preorder from today through the next 21 days
If Makeship receives at least 200 preorders, the plush will be manufactured and shipped to customers
If it does not hit that threshhold, then the plush will not be made, everyone gets their money back, and we will hope for better results on our next attempt.
That's pretty much everything to share on this campaign. We really want to see this one be a smashing success - because we think this plush is really cool, and we are really excited to make more armors in the future. Your support here will tell the tale on both fronts. So, if you like what you see and you think the Hallowed Armor plush might look great in your room or would be an amazing gift for a friend or family member this Holiday season, get your order in today!
Spooky season is finally upon us! We hope that your pumpkin carving, candy collecting, haunted house visiting, and trick or treat preparations have been going quite well. On our end, we have loved seeing the Halloween Contest entries coming in (over 300 entries and counting - you still have time to get your amazing Pumpkins, Costumes, and more in!) while we continue to work away on 1.4.5. We are also getting really excited to see some of the other Terraria things that will be coming out over the Holidays, such as the next wave of the Terraria Graphic Novel, new merch stuff, and more. It is also the time of the year where we really start to reflect on how much we appreciate each and every one of you and your support. We will say it again (probably more than once) - thank you so much for all that you do for us!
That said, let's go door to door for the latest Terraria treats - no tricks, we promise!

TERRARIA 1.4.5 - BAT!
Another great month of development has come and gone, and the team is really feeling great about what we have in game thus far as well as what we still have planned/on deck to add before we can call 1.4.5 complete. It is becoming increasingly hard to not spoil some of our favorite bits - but our willpower is winning out thus far. No estimate on timing to add just yet, but it is looking increasingly likely that we are looking at a 2024 release for 1.4.5 at this point. You know our mantra for updates - they are "done when they are done". Hang in there with us a bit longer, it will be worth it.
What better spoiler for the Halloween Season than to share one of our newest additions - the Vampire Bat transformation!
Don't worry, when your nighttime aerial hijinks are concluded, you will be able to safely return to your... Human Form!
Until next time folks - the Holidays are closing in and we cannot wait to see what they hold!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
It has been another exciting month! On November 1st our monthly update release of tModLoader will go live. This month's release contains fixes for various gameplay inconsistencies with Terraria. Dye visuals, boss item drops, bomb damage, tool speed, and echo coating have all received fixes to match Terraria behavior. We are extremely grateful to the users that reported these issues to us. The mod configuration menu has been reworked to be less confusing for mods with multiple configuration pages.
We also have exciting news for modders working in a team. Modders added as a "Contributor" to a mod on the Steam workshop will soon be able to publish updates for the mod to the workshop directly. Mods will no longer need to be updated only by the original uploader. Mod owners should take some time this month to ensure that everyone listed as a "Contributor" on the Steam workshop for your mod is trustworthy enough for this responsibility. Please remove any contributors that do not meet this standard. The feature for contributor publishing will be active November 21st starting with our preview releases to provide time to act. Please spread the word to other mod teams you know that might not have seen this announcement. We look forward to this feature enabling mods to more reliably update to fix bugs that arise.
Modders should also keep an eye out for our Steam announcement on November 1st where a complete listing of API changes this month will be listed.
As always, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.
TMODLOADER STEAM WORKSHOP
The TML Steam Workshop has over 6000 mods for you to enjoy! Coupled with the in-game mod browser, the TML Steam Workshop is a great way to explore what modded Terraria has to offer - check it out today by clicking the banner above!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
More features, continuing to evolve and grow what TML can do... and getting ready for 1.4.5.
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
We were fortunate enough over this past month to have a bit of extra time to work on the future - above and beyond the ongoing work on Terraria 1.4.5, of course. What future would that be, you ask? Why a future where Terrarians everywhere can come together from all over the world to Dig, Fight, and Build - regardless of which platform on which they choose to play. You will see what we mean in the spoilers below...
Speaking of which, let's give you the customary sneak peek!
Portable Demon Altars, Extra Spiky! Please note that this will only drop in the most extreme of circumstances and is not going to be easily obtained/readily available.
Crossplay? Crossplay.
It is also worth sharing at this point that the image we shared in the July State of the Game was shot in a live Crossplay environment - as some of you surmised!
Please note that we do NOT expect Crossplay to be available until a while after Terraria 1.4.5 releases and all hotfixes, etc. are complete. Crossplay will take place in two phases, this is only Phase One.
We still need to go through the hoops and processes with first parties, and (as you can imagine), this feature will need a lot of extensive testing. That has already begun, and we are planning to keep that testing going up to and through the release of 1.4.5, so that we can get Crossplay Phase One (more details on that at a later time) into your hands as soon as possible. However, to reiterate, this will be sometime after Terraria 1.4.5 is out and all fixes are done with that update.
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME UPDATES
TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME DESIGNER DIARY
Here we are again with the latest "Designer Diary" entry from the lead designer for Terraria: the Board Game - Chris Kingsworth. Let's see what he and the Paper Fort team have been up to over the last month! ---
Hello Terrarians!
Chris here, game developer at Paper Fort Games. I’m back with the next instalment of the Terraria: The Board Game designer diary. This month, I’m going to be discussing my time at Essen Game Fair, revealing 3 new Boss miniatures and letting you know where to find us at PAXU in December!
---
Essen Game Fair A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Germany for Essen Game Fair, the world’s largest tabletop convention. 193,000 people visited the event; it was fantastic to meet hundreds of Terraria fans and show our in-development prototype. The painted Wall of Flesh and King Slime miniatures got lots of brilliant feedback, and though the game’s cardboard components currently have prototype art, fans were already excited about how thematic the game is shaping up to be. Multiple people said that they could hear the Overworld Day theme playing when they saw the game on the table, so we must be doing something right!
Our transparent armour set cards are also proving to be a hit; you’ll be able to customise your Terrarian by overlaying see-through cards on top of your basic character. Not only does this look cool, but these armour cards will provide permanent buffs as you progress through the game. We’ll be showing more of these in a future SOTG so keep an eye out!
---
New Boss Minis This month, we’ve been working on 3 new Boss miniatures; Queen Bee, Eye of Cthulhu and Brain of Cthulhu. Here are the WIP renders; we’d love to know what you think!
Next month I’ll give you a sneak peek of the miniature design process; i.e. how we get from my shoddy concept sketch to a fantastic sculpted model (spoiler; it involves other people with much more artistic talent than me!). I’ll also show you the modular features of the Eye and Brain of Cthulhu miniatures in more detail.
---
Come and See the Game at PAX Unplugged 2023! From December 1st to 3rd, we’ll be showing Terraria: The Board Game at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, PA. If you’re coming to the show, please stop by and say hello; you’ll find us on the Lucky Duck Games stand (booth number 3400). You can find more info about PAXU at PAX Unplugged .
---
Don’t Miss Out! If you haven’t already, please sign up at TERRARIA: THE BOARD GAME NEWS SIGN-UP LINK and be sure to click through to the Kickstarter ‘notify me’ page. We’d be very grateful if you could share the link with fellow Terrarians via social media; you’re always welcome to tag us in using @paperfortgames.
In case you missed the big reveal, be sure to take a minute to read our post about Terraria - The Board Game, which contains details about timing, how it will be sold, and more!
Colors for Issue 5 are well underway, as is the lineart for Issue 6. We have also spent a bit of time coming up with the extra goodies that will roll out alongside the Book Two Issues (5-7) - for those that are interested. Expect to see some familiar items alongside some brand new offerings in those packages.
We expect to be able to announce the details around Issue 5 sometime in the next week or so. To celebrate the occasion, 50 Amp has a pretty awesome giveaway planned, so you will definitely want to stay tuned for that! In the meantime, enjoy some more stickers that will be coming your way during the rollout of Issues 5-7
Vale, Helen, and the Mysterious Goblin Tinkerer!

Well, that's it - let us know if you have any questions and... Now let the spooky festivities begin!
We are growing ever closer to quite possibly our favorite month of the year. Cooler days? Spooky times? Tricks and Treats? Maybe, just possibly, another Terraria Halloween Contest (we are looking into if we can make this happen)? Count us all the way in! For now, though, let's not sleep on September, because plenty of fun and interesting things took place over the last month. From the rise of more cool Terraria merch to the ongoing development of 1.4.5 to the fall of Unity, September was a month to remember!
Enough with the small talk - let's check out all of the latest and greatest in regards to all things Terraria!

TERRARIA 1.4.5 - CHOPPING AWAY AT THE REMAINING WORKLOAD
Another fantastic month of development has passed by, and the team is really feeling great about what we have in store for 1.4.5. Another of the music tracks that we mentioned last time arrived over the past few weeks - it still needs a bit of work, but we are really digging it!
As for what to share this month - remember the big Tree vs Axe debate/war/thing? Remember the promises made when the "peace treaty" was negotiated? One of those was a Fairy-Axe pet, and we figured what better way to truly memorialize the community event than by giving this pet a striking resemblance to the de facto leader of the Axe faction...
CenAxe does what she wants!
This floating fairy is a menace to any trees that might cross her path. Just don't let her know that she isn't very good at actually chopping them down.
Until next time folks - we are looking forward to finishing the year strong!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
The tModLoader team has been busy fixing bugs and incorporating new functionality into tModLoader. On October 1st our monthly update release of tModLoader will go live. There have been many bug fixes made to tModLoader, but this month's release has a particularly large amount of new functionality for modders to play with.
New features include:
Support for modded Builders Toggles
Modded Emote Bubbles
Rubblemaker support
Reworked NPC buff immunity system
A way to store world header data
The long awaited Extra Jump API
These latest additions have made their way into tModLoader thanks to the efforts of our amazing community of modders who have been willing to contribute to tModLoader. We always encourage modders to continue contributing features to tModLoader, as there is no better way to ensure that TML continues to grow in ways that will best support future modding efforts. Changes like those listed above allow modders the ability to make things that were previously prohibitively complex to implement.
We hope players look forward to mods incorporating these new features and encourage modders to take a moment to test their mods on the preview-v2023.08 Steam branch prior to October 1st to ensure a smooth transition. We look forward to seeing how mods make use of these new features.
As always, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.

PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
Another month with even more progress on the Console/Mobile front! Aside from keeping pace with our PC friends, the team has had one eye on contingency planning for "what if" we need to swap out the components of Console/Mobile Terraria that utilize Unity. Given recent events, the team feels like this is a prudent step to take so that we can evaluate all possible pathways. Do note that *IF* the need arises for us to undertake such a swap, we do expect that it will take a bit of time. This would delay any in-progress update by however long that takes - our current best-guess being in the two-ish months timeframe. As of today, we are only laying out plans, and we have not decided if we will or will not make the shift at this point. If that changes, we will let everyone know. Thanks in advance for your understanding in this difficult situation!
Now, with that out of the way, who wants to see a brand new Terraria 1.4.5 spoiler?!
Somebody out there always has to resort to slinging mud...
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

Here we are again with the latest "Designer Diary" entry from the lead designer for Terraria: the Board Game - Chris Kingsworth. Let's see what he and the Paper Fort team have been up to over the last month! --- Hello Terrarians!
Chris here, game developer at Paper Fort Games. I’m back with the next instalment of the Terraria: The Board Game designer diary. This month, I’m going to be discussing world generation, updated artwork and Essen Spiel 2023 (the world’s largest board game convention). Planting the Seed Games with procedurally generated worlds, like Terraria, are a challenge to port into cardboard form. Players have to do the ‘heavy lifting’ of world generation that is usually handled by the digital game engine, so we need to make sure that this aspect of the game is quick and fun.
At the beginning of Terraria: The Board Game, you’ll create a minimap of randomised, face-down biome tokens. As you explore the world, you’ll draw and place biome tiles to create the environment, revealing new places to explore, enemies to fight, materials to collect and chests to loot. Whenever you reach the edge of a biome, you’ll flip over the next minimap token; this will show you which biome to build next. It’s quick, simple and exciting; you can never be sure exactly what’s going to be revealed, and every world you generate will be different. As in the video game, you'll also get a choice of evil biome, or you can leave it up to chance during the minimap-making process.
Updated Cover Reveal! When we announced the board game earlier this year, the cover art reception was generally favourable, but there were some aspects that fans weren’t as keen on. We’ve listened to your feedback, taken the core of what fans and Re-Logic loved about the artwork and overhauled the art style with the help of artist George Doutsiopoulos. Our aim was to stay faithful to Crowno’s 2018 cover, while adding new details that will appeal to veteran and greenhorn Terrarians alike. We’d love to hear what you think!
New Miniature Sculpts Over the past few weeks, we’ve also been working to maximise the quality of our Boss sculpts. Here are the latest renders of King Slime and Wall of Flesh. As mentioned in my previous update, these Boss models are modular, and as you fight them, you’ll remove pieces to track boss damage and reflect other status effects. For example, you’ll be able to remove King Slime’s outer layers so he shrinks as he loses health. Similarly, WoF will have a removable mouth and eyes.
Come and See the Game at Essen Spiel 2023! From October 5th to 8th, we’ll be showing Terraria: The Board Game at the world’s largest tabletop game convention, held in Germany. If you’re one of the 150,000 people coming to the show, please stop by and say hello; you’ll find us on the Lucky Duck Games stand in Hall 3 (booth number 3S124).
We just wrapped up inks for Issue 5 this week, which just leaves colors and lettering before the next installment in our adventure should be ready to go! Additionally, we are very close to a final script for Issue 6 - so things are really starting to pick up. We are very excited to get these out to everyone and see what you think!
Alongside the actual issues themselves, the art team has been spending some time pulling together some goodies that we plan to offer with the next rollout. We thought we would take a chance this month to share a few of the sticker designs that we recently completed. If we can get colors down the road far enough, perhaps we will tease a page (or part of one) from Issue 5 next month!

RE-LOGIC STANCE ON UNITY & SUPPORT FOR OPEN SOURCE GAME ENGINES
In case you missed it, Unity recently introduced some changes to their Terms of Service regarding fees - specifically adding a "charge per install" component that would be in place for all games (new and existing) starting January 1, 2024. This resulted in an almost-universal protest from the game development community. While Unity has in recent days made adjustments to this plan that are far more palatable to developers and publishers, Re-Logic stands by its statement and actions outlined in the image below:
*Note: Monogame was added in the days following the initial announcement. It has been added to the image above for ease of reading and clarity*
We hope that everyone will join us in supporting a future where robust open-source game engines and tools exist so that up-and-coming game developers can get their start without having to worry about situations such as the present Unity dynamics. Accessible and powerful tools will only serve to raise up the next generation of indie games for us all to enjoy!

The team playthrough has come and gone. I don't think anyone will soon forget their time in The Mad Realm of Boulders! Fun was had, TONS of notes were taken, and the benefits of this playthrough are already being seen in the work on Terraria 1.4.5.
Speaking of time, we have an update on timing for everyone. As we started to check off what work remained on the update, we realized that we would really have been remiss to not cover off some long-standing needs for new music. That's right, Terrarians, the 1.4.5 update will contain several new music tracks by our favorite composer, Scott Lloyd Shelly! How many exactly is still a bit to-be-determined, but we are anticipating at least 5 and maybe more! Want to check one of them out? Of course you do!
So, all that said, we mentioned an impact on timing - the production of all of these new tracks takes a good amount of time in composition, review, editing, etc. We are not going to rush Scott while he works on the latest in a long line of Terraria musical masterpieces. So, that means the update is going to take a bit longer to come out than we had originally anticipated. Now, before anyone gets too upset... the team realized that if we are having to wait on this music anyway, why not just keep the update development moving on our end and add even more goodies?!
What all will that entail? Well you will have to wait and see - but we have some pretty substantial ideas. How much we can get done will depend on how long the music takes. We are pretty confident everyone will be very happy with what we have in store and will feel like this was extra time well-spent. Can't show you too much too soon, though, so it will all be a mystery for now.
Oh, who are we kidding, you knew we were going to show something new. Are we sure it is safe to sit on this Aetherium Furniture, much less build a whole house using it?!
Anyway, we expect this extension to be in the scope of a few months at least - we will give a timeline as we get closer. In the meantime, rest assured that everyone will get a LOT more out of 1.4.5 than you ever expected.

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
This month has flown by - with the release of 1.4.4 tModLoader at the start of August came a whole batch of mod updates and hot fixes. We hope you've been enjoying the 1.4.4 era of tModLoader! We are quite happy with how well the transition went from 1.4.3 to 1.4.4 tModLoader - it was so smooth we could call it a success! That said, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.
As August comes to an end, we feel we are finally nearing cruising altitude and a return to normal scheduled updates. We have some exciting changes coming in September - including a Mod Browser Revamp... and still more improvements we've been wanting to make on the horizon while we set ourselves up for the future.
As always, we kindly request that we all respect modders' time and not hassle them about porting to 1.4.4. We are greatly impressed at seeing over 85% of all mods by subscriber count have ported to 1.4.4, but we continue to ask to please be respectful of those that have not. Thank you for your understanding.

--- Hello Terrarians!
Chris here, game developer at Paper Fort Games. I’m back with the next installment of the Terraria: The Board Game designer diary. This month’s topics; how can we capture the sandbox feeling of Terraria on the tabletop, and what can we offer that can only be achieved in the physical world? Enjoy!
Freedom to Choose Terraria is a game all about choice. If you want to run all the way to the ocean, you can (we’ve all done it!). Want to build a Hellevator? Go for it. Fancy mining every block in the world, or building beautiful things? No problem! With this in mind, it wouldn’t be right to design a board game that dictates exactly what you have to do. Instead, you’ll have control over how you play.
You’ll be able to choose the objectives for each playthrough, all of which reflect achievements in the digital game. Complete lots of easy-to-achieve tasks, like surviving your first night or building your first house, or defeat bosses for big points and fantastic loot! Alternatively, aim somewhere in the middle; spawn every NPC or mine every block within a biome.
On your turn, freedom of choice will be reinforced by a flexible action point system. This isn’t a game where cards dictate exactly what you have to do. Using your starting equipment, you’ll be able to dig, chop and stab. Want to run over to that tree, chop it down, zip over to a slime and stab it? If you’ve got the action points to do it, you can! You can spend your points how you like; whether that’s on a single endeavour or a variety of tasks. As you upgrade your equipment, the efficiency of your action points will increase. Perhaps you’ve forged an iron axe to replace your copper one; now you can dig more quickly and mine more efficiently.
Modular Miniatures and the ‘Advent Calendar’ We realize that we’re asking you to play a board game when you have the digital game at your fingertips, so let’s talk about things we can do in the physical world that aren’t achievable digitally. One of the reasons we hope you’re excited to play Terraria: The Board Game is the boss ‘advent calendar’.
Bosses are a big event in the videogame and we want to mirror that in the tabletop game. In the box you’ll find a number of doors. Each door will display spawn criteria for a different boss. For example, each time you kill a slime, you’ll be a step closer to the appearance of King Slime. When you hit the spawn threshold, you’ll open the door and find a modular boss miniature, with rules for an epic boss battle. As you fight, you’ll remove pieces of the miniature to track boss damage and reflect other status effects.
Here’s an example of one of these miniatures; our WIP sculpt for the Wall of Flesh:
We’re really looking forward to sharing more of these with you!
Next Month As I mentioned last month, we’re passionate about Terraria and its players. We’re here to do the best we can and we want to bring you along for the journey by keeping you updated on what we’re doing; that’s one of the aims of the designer diary. In the next instalment, I’ll talk about world generation and deckbuilding in Terraria: The Board Game.
Don’t Miss Out! If you haven’t already, please sign up at Get Ready for ⛏ Terraria: The Board Game! and be sure to click through to the Kickstarter ‘notify me’ page.
The first reviews and revisions for the script for Issue 6 are nearing completion - and we just received the lineart/inks for the bulk of Issue 5 for review as of this morning. This keeps us on track to be able to deliver the next part of our epic Terraria adventure in the near future!
As in prior months, if you have any outstanding issues with your order from Issues 1-4, we do not want to miss the chance to take care of you (we have been able to take care of everyone that we know of thus far) - please reach out to help@50ampproductions.com immediately so that we can take care of things ASAP. Feel free to let us at Re-Logic know via business@re-logic.com (we have been able to help several folks) if you are having any issues as well, but the 50amp email above should be the best way to sort out any stragglers out there!
As for our sneak peek this month, let's take a break from all of these goblins and check in with an even more odd visitor...
Who knows what mysteries lie within the Traveling Merchant's pack... and where does he come from anyway?

We are very excited to be able to at long last share a very unique partnership that has been in the works for some time now - Terraria x Madrinas! That's right, we have been working hand-in-hand with our good friends over at Madrinas to create some unique coffee flavors that we hope everyone will really enjoy! It has been a lot of fun trying out flavors and bouncing ideas off of each other, and we are pretty pleased with how it all turned out. Besides, who doesn't need some extra fuel for those late night (or early morning) Terraria sessions? That one more cave beckons!
If you are not familiar with Madrinas, they are a well-known coffee company focused on providing innovative new coffee flavors while using only all-natural ingredients. From Whole Bean to Cold Brew, they aim to have a coffee out there that is right for everyone.
All in all, we have two cool flavors to share with you here: one based on everyone's favorite 500 year old nature spirit, the Dryad - and the other seeks to answer the age old question of what exactly does a Pigron taste like? The team at Madrinas has also put together a really cool collector's box set that has both flavors and some other goodies as well. So without further ado, grab your favorite mug or shaker cup and let's dive in to Terraria x Madrinas!
As always, simply click on a product image to head on over to purchase that item, and we have listed each of these in our very own Merchandise Hub at Terraria.org/Store.
This is the cornerstone of the Madrinas x Terraria collaboration! Included in this amazing Box Set are both of the new coffee flavors: the Dryad's Wild Honey Cold Brew and Pigron's Maple Bacon Whole Bean. Inside the box you will also find a Terraria shaker bottle (perfect for mixing up that Wild Honey Cold Brew) and a Journey's End inspired koozie. This is the one to pick up if you want to give all of what Madrinas x Terraria has to offer a try! This will be a limited edition, so be sure that you get yours before it's too late.
Direct from the jungles of Terraria, and blessed by the Dryad herself, the Madrinas x Terraria Wild Honey cold brew will keep you on your toes as you delve ever-deeper in search of the Jungle Temple or the beautiful-but-deadly Plantera. This perfect flavor pairing of honey and a hint of lavender will arrive ready-to-craft it at home in less than a minute! All you need is a shaker cup.
From the lair of the iconic Pigron itself comes the new Madrinas x Terraria Maple Bacon Flavored Whole Bean Coffee! Its perfect combo of sweet and salty notes with a smoky smooth finish will help you keep your wits about you as you battle half-pig/half-dragons or whatever else might come your way!
As always, we cannot thank everyone enough for their support, we hope that you will find these latest Terraria products as amazing as we do and pick some up for yourself! Be sure to check out the cool products we launched last Friday from Eighty Sixed as well!
Whew, what a month July has been! We saw the great Tree vs Axe War of the Terrarians take place on Terraria Community Forums as well as all over social media? Which side did you wind up supporting? The good news is that things are back to being nice and peaceful again with the leaders of each side reaching a spruce to end hostilities. The even better news is that we will all get to enjoy a couple of new items as a result! We cannot wait to share what we have in mind there when the time comes. Beyond that, we are hammering out the final bits and going through one of our first team Terraria playthroughs in quite a while. These are always fantastic to do near the end of update development for balance, QA, and even the occasional new idea. We know that everyone really wants a launch date window, but we still are not quite ready to share that at this time. Soon though, hopefully!
Let's dive headlong into July's happenings and hints of what is to come in August and beyond!

TERRARIA 1.4.5 - SEEDS, SEEDS EVERYWHERE
The team has started the customary group full playthrough that accompanies the end stages of development. These are very important (and fun) sessions, where we unearth any remaining pesky bugs, find anything that feels unbalanced or not fun, and - quite often - come up with some fun new ideas.
We have been taking the time to listen to fan requests as well - and one we have heard pretty frequently is a way to see which worlds which characters have visited previously as a method to help know which character goes with which world(s). Players and worlds are also now sorted by most recently played.
The team is also having fun diving into the potential of World Seed combinations. With 128 different possible seed combinations, the team has let its creativity run wild by adding a whole bunch of fun combo effects - some big and some small. This includes at least 2 (and maybe more to come) combos that will substantially change the gameplay experience in unexpected ways. Want an example? Of course you do!
You've seen your last sunrise - that must suck!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
We are excited to announce that 1.4.4 tModLoader will be available starting August 1st as tModLoader's default experience! After a lot of testing and changes, we are ready to release this next big version of tModLoader. We have seen significant uptake within the modding community on our 1.4.4-preview Beta, and are looking forward to a smooth transition to the next big stage. A lot of hard work went into this, so a big thank you to everyone involved.
Likewise, although 1.4.4 is released from our end, there will still be some mods not yet released on 1.4.4. This may include some popular mods. We anticipate several of these noteworthy mods to release within the few days to follow, and ask for your patience as modders publish their work.
For more information on the Jump to 1.4.4 and all that's happening around it, you can read more in our big announcement from earlier this month: tModLoader 1.4.4 Transition Plan
We are excited to see our modding community is already more than half way to our 60% porting effort target! As a reminder, we are waiting to changeover tModLoader to 1.4.4 as the default option until the majority of mods have posted a 1.4.4 version.
Please note that 1.4.4 will NOT replace 1.4.3. 1.4.3 will continue to be available in full through Steam Beta options, just as 1.3 is today.
As always, we kindly request that we all respect modders' time and not hassle them about porting to 1.4.4. Please be respectful as we all wrap up this big jump forward. Please stay tuned, and thank you for your patience. Once again, we are excited to bring tModLoader to 1.4.4 age! We hope you enjoy this next era of modding, and several improvements we've made during the journey.

Final preparations for the 1.4.4 release and the subsequent bugfixing and tweaking that will be needed is taking up all of our time for now!

PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
Over on the Console/Mobile front, we are adding content just as fast as the PC side can put it out! We thought we would put together this fun little collage/montage of a recent testing session where we were trying out the new Velociraptor transformation.
Of course, we are also still exploring the handful of issues that remain for some players from the previous technical update:
KNOWN ISSUES WITH FIXES UNDERWAY
Multiplayer not working for some users on Xbox - the latest backend updates seem to have cleared this up for almost everyone. The only exception seems to be players with bad connections with each other. We are seeing if we can force the system to allow connection anyway, but not sure if this is possible.
Issue where the game freezes suddenly for PS4 users - We have made some progress with replication of situations where this is still occurring. Hoping to get this sorted soon.
Old save data not showing anymore for some Xbox users - We have had to travel way back in time to get to the bottom of this issue. Progress is being made, but we do not yet have a line on a fix.
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

This month, we will share the first in what will be several "Designer Diary" entries from the lead designer for Terraria: the Board Game - Chris Kingsworth. We hope you enjoy these behind-the-scenes candid thoughts as we move ever closer to making this a reality!
Hello Terrarians!
I’m Chris, game developer at Paper Fort Games. As you’ve probably heard, Re-Logic recently announced a collaboration between our studios to create Terraria: The Board Game. The Re-Logic team have kindly given me the opportunity to write a designer diary as part of State of the Game, so let’s dive into the first instalment!
We announced Terraria: The Board Game on 1st June, to coincide with the UK Game Expo (UKGE) held at the NEC in Birmingham. I was excited and anxious in equal measure; Terraria is a video game beloved to literally millions of people, so it’s natural that some people’s reaction would be ‘why?’. Some players might be worried about a soulless tabletop rehash of another videogame IP, but I want to reassure you that we’re here to do the best job we can for you, the fans. We care about getting it right. It was wonderful seeing so many of you get excited about the chance to play Terraria in physical form; our aim is for the board game to be an extension of the incredible Terraria universe, and a chance for new and veteran players alike to experience the game in a new way.
If you heard me talk about the game at UKGE, hopefully I was able to convey how passionate we are about doing a great job. Before I even started designing the board game, we’ve spent hundreds of hours of research by playing, trawling the wiki, watching playthrough videos and reading forum discussions to understand the game and the community. We’re making a Terraria board game, not a board game with a Terraria theme.
It was fantastic to meet so many of you at the convention. Hundreds of Terrarians came by to find out about the board game; some who’ve played a few of hours, others who’ve logged thousands. There were kids with their parents, groups of friends and players that have been following the game since day one. One fan on holiday from the US heard the announcement and came to UKGE just to see the game, and Chippy came by for a chat and to ask some questions from the community. It was an amazing weekend, and reinforced how important Terraria is to so many people.
Like Re-Logic, we’re a small indie team, and we share the same game design ethos. We’re aiming for crowdfunding towards the end of the year, but we’re not going to rush. We’re going to take the time to get it right, playtest extensively, listen to feedback and give it the polish that it deserves. Everything that we do will be approved by Re-Logic, to ensure that we are faithful to their vision and respectful to the amazing community that they’ve built.
We’re passionate about the game and its players. We’re here to do the best we can and we want to bring you along for the journey by keeping you updated on what we’re doing; that’s one of the aims of the designer diary. In the next instalment, I’ll talk about the core aims of the tabletop game’s design; how we’re attempting to capture the sandbox feeling of Terraria and the unique things we are adding that can only be achieved in the physical world.
Until then, I’ll leave you with my 2 favourite quotes from fans during the launch: “…Terraria 2 is so light on RAM it doesn’t even need a PC…” and “…Can’t wait to speedrun this…”; these definitely made me laugh!
In case you missed the big reveal, be sure to take a minute to read our post about Terraria - The Board Game, which contains details about timing, how it will be sold, and more! TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME DETAILS
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES
The first rough lineart pages for Issue 5 are starting to arrive - and things are looking really good so far! What have Vale and crew been up to since defeating the evil Eye of Cthulhu, and where are they headed next? You will have to stay tuned to find out... but we will be sharing some spoilers along the way. Oh, and the first passes on the script for Issue 6 are under review this week!
As in prior months, if you have any outstanding issues with your order from Issues 1-4, we do not want to miss the chance to take care of you - please reach out to help@50ampproductions.com immediately so that we can take care of things ASAP. Feel free to let us at Re-Logic know via business@re-logic.com (we have been able to help several folks) if you are having any issues as well, but the 50amp email above should be the best way to sort out any stragglers out there!
So, we have seen a lot of Goblins in the past State of the Game posts... but we haven't seen perhaps the most famous of them all - until now!
Here to take all of your hard earned coins is none other than the Goblin Tinkerer!
OTHER COMMUNITY NEWS
TREE VS AXE - WHICH SIDE WERE YOU ON?
Throughout July, the Terraria community partook in a a friendly "war" between the Axes and the Trees.
As he often does, Chippy put together a great summary of some of the best of the antics. The two sides have since reached a truce, with new items being added to the 1.4.5 update to appease both sides. What will those be and what will they look like/do? You will have to wait and find out!
TERRARIA ON R/PLACE 2023
That's right, though quite delayed, r/place just took place once again. As in past years, Terrarians everywhere did not disappoint with their strong support for making their mark on this global community canvas.
Perhaps even more moving is that the Community has chosen to make this a fitting tribute to our fallen colleague and brother, Leinfors. To give you a taste of what everyone has created: You may be seeing this arrive as a painting in Terraria update near you!
We also saw Terraria appear in several other spots!
If you are not familiar with r/place, it is intended to be a global community blank canvas where people place one pixel at a time, creating works of art (or not). Of course, nothing is stopping others from overwriting or vandalizing your piece... so defending your turf is also key. That our community was able to create and defend all of these amazing pieces is a testament to your passion and dedication for all things Terraria!

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer months and getting some much-needed time in the sun. Don't worry, Terraria will be waiting for you when you come in from the heat! We are closing in on the last stages of 1.4.5 development, and we hope that we will be able to have the latest version of Terraria in everyone's hands soon. Beyond that, we have seen several cool things come out lately - from the new minifigures to the Terraria Board Game announcement - and we expect to have a few more fun bits to share in the coming months. We love seeing cool stuff get made that expands and expresses the world of Terraria in different ways, and we hope that you are as well.
With all that said, let's get in to the latest and greatest surrounding all things Terraria!
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA 1.4.5 - ENTERING THE (HOPEFULLY) FINAL STRETCH
We really enjoyed everyone's detective work on last month's spoiler. You all went way beyond even what we have come to know and love about the community in regards to the dissection of spoilers! The team is in the final push towards the end of content additions and turning a more careful eye towards fixes and balance for the remainder of 1.4.5's development cycle. This phase is always tough to predict timing-wise, as it really depends on how many issues we find and how hard they are to address. That said, we do not think it will be much longer until we will be able to provide a more definitive time window. Of course, if you don't have Terraria yet - or you know someone who doesn't - there is no better time than right now to pick up a copy while Terraria is 50% off during the Steam Summer Sale! Click the image above to head to our Steam Store Page!
That said, we would be remiss if we didn't share some of the things that we worked on this past month... so enjoy!
Some changes to the character creation screen shared on r/terraria a week or so ago - in case you missed it. We are already making a few tweaks to this coming out of feedback from that post, but hopefully this will be a nice change for everyone that will allow you to make your character even more your own!
Everyone loves World Seeds right? Well, it is our guess that everyone does - except that a ton of folks who are not immersed in our news posts or the wiki might have no idea they even exist. So, we gave them their own menu to up the accessibility.
Know what else would be cool? If you could combine special World Seeds. What if some of those combinations might also have special hidden effects?
Oh, and the sun effects are a work in progress. Just saying.

We are creeping ever-closer to 100,000 packs/worlds in the Terraria Steam Workshop! You are missing out if you haven't taken the time to check out these amazing creations from the community.
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON?
Mostly focusing on getting 1.4.5 done. The final push, so to speak. Also working on what we hope will be a few more fun surprises.
TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
1.4.4 Preview continues to be live on Steam for modders to port with. We strongly encourage all modders to update their mods and post the updates to Steam in a timely fashion. For more information on accessing the Preview build, please check out tModLoader guide for players
Please be respectful as we all wrap up this big jump forward Please stay tuned, and thank you for your patience.
TMODLOADER STEAM WORKSHOP
The TML Steam Workshop has over 5000 mods already! Coupled with the in-game mod browser, the TML Steam Workshop is a great way to explore what modded Terraria has to offer - check it out today by clicking the banner above!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
Finally, we are deep in groundwork conversations and changes to support offering 1.4.4 broadly. We will announce some of these details in the coming weeks in our Discord and on Steam. You will want to stay tuned for that!
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
Over on the Console/Mobile front, we remain hard at work keeping pace with the PC side while doing the best we can to track down any remaining bugs/fixes from the last update. We hope that the patches we sent out already have helped out - but we are still taking and reading reports, so keep the information coming. As a reminder, this is our current focus list for any additional fixes:
KNOWN ISSUES WITH FIXES UNDERWAY
Multiplayer not working for some users on Xbox - the latest backend updates seem to have cleared this up for almost everyone. The only exception seems to be players with bad connections with each other. We are seeing if we can force the system to allow connection anyway, but not sure if this is possible.
Issue where the game freezes suddenly for PS4 users - We are working on a hotfix for PS4 with a couple of reported crashes being fixed. This should be available shortly. We're still looking at the PS4 Freezes people are experiencing although we haven't pinned it down, we're looking at the water quality as a possible culprit, if you're having trouble with freezing, try turning down the water quality setting while we continue to investigate as a few players have mentioned this has helped.
Old save data not showing anymore for some Xbox users - we are still exploring this. We are almost certain that the data is not lost, just not accessible for some reason. We are still working to replicate this internally, so hang in there!
Now, we haven't had a Mobile spoiler in a while - so let's rectify that now! First of all, the changes to Character Creation have made their way to Console and Mobile...
But wait, there's more! Last month, the PC side showed off the icon images of a few whips. Well, why don't we look at a couple of those in action? Introducing the Soulscourge and Vasculash!
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

In case you missed it, several Terrarians got a unique opportunity to stop by the UK Games Expo to check out the very early in-development version of Terraria: The Board Game last month! The lead designer from our friends at Paper Fort Games had a great time interacting with everyone and listening to your valuable feedback! All of that will be taken back and considered as we continue to evolve and polish what this board game can become.
We’ll be sharing more about Terraria: The Board Game with you via designer diaries in future State of the Game updates, but in the meantime, we have something quite terrifying to reveal…
The image above is an early 3D render of the Wall of Flesh miniature. We want Boss battles in the board game to feel like an event - just like they do in the digital game - so Bosses will spawn when you fulfill the criteria shown on doors of an advent calendar. Once spawned, you’ll open the door to reveal the miniature, then add it to the board. As you can see, Bosses are modular, with pieces that can be removed or manipulated in other ways to allow Boss stat tracking. We’ll be revealing more models over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled!
If you haven't already, sign up here for the latest information!
In case you missed the big reveal, be sure to take a minute to read our post about Terraria - The Board Game, which contains details about timing, how it will be sold, and more! TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME DETAILS
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES
We finally have some timing around Book One and the rollout of the issues that will make up Book Two. We expect that Book One will be available sometime in early 2024 (long story short, we need to line up with retailers' desired timelines), while we will see the story continue with the release of Issue 5 and more later this year. Of course, that is all subject to production lead times and whatnot - but we are confident in the changes that we have made from the lessons learned during the initial rollout. We expect a much smoother and more predictable release this time around!
Speaking of folks that encountered those issues, we have chased down every report that the team knows about as of this point. There are a handful in process, but everyone should be taken care of as of now (or very soon). However, if you have any outstanding issues with your order, we do not want to miss you - please reach out to help@50ampproductions.com immediately so that we can take care of this ASAP. Feel free to let us at Re-Logic know via business@re-logic.com (we have been able to help several folks) if you are having any issues as well, but the 50amp email above should be the best way to sort out any stragglers out there!
The art team remains hard at work on Issue 5, and we expect to have our first draft soon! We have one last member of the Goblin Army to show off this month... and maybe we will be able to give a sneak peek at a former member of the Goblin Army next time. I wonder who that could be?

Things are certainly heating up outside - but the team has been able to keep its cool by continuing to push ahead with Terraria 1.4.5! We have had some successful localization tests this month (more on that below), while our good friends at DR Studios released 1.4.4.9.2 and have been hard at work fixing a handful of bugs that have cropped up on Console. We have enjoyed watching your reactions to our two big reveals over the last two weeks - hopefully we will have more to come as the years moves on. For now, let's settle in, grab a cold drink, and catch up on the latest and greatest happenings in the world of Terraria!
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - 1.4.5 PROGRESSING NICELY
Localization has been the name of the game in May. Bringing three new languages on board - alongside all-new character sets - always SOUNDS easy enough, but it is a pretty monumental task. Lots of checking within the UI for text overruns (which given how huge our game is, that's a tall order!) and so on. That said, we are in a pretty good place at least with the older text (still need to do all of 1.4.5, but that will come when we are done adding content to said update haha). As a matter of fact, let's check out a screen from the Korean localization now!
Getting this step done was always going to take a good amount of time, but with it behind us, the team is really looking into the finishing touches, being sure that we don't want to add anything else, bug fixing, and so on. Hoping to have a release window for you soon!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
Another month of hard work on tModLoader 1.4.4 has brought us ever-closer to being able to move this latest version over to the Live Branch. Of course, TML 1.4.4 Preview continues to be live on Steam for modders to port with. We strongly encourage all modders to update their mods and post the updates to Steam in a timely fashion. For more information on accessing the Preview build, please check out https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/wiki/tModLoader-guide-for-players#beta-branches
Looking forward, we are waiting to changeover tModLoader to 1.4.4 as the default option until the majority of mods have posted a 1.4.4 set of files to steam workshop. For effectiveness, we are considering that as when 'the total subscriber count of mods tagged 1.4.4 / total subscriber count of all mods' surpasses 60%. Please stay tuned to our Discord for full visibility.
As always, we kindly request that we all respect modders' time and not hassle them about porting to 1.4.4. Please be respectful as we all wrap up this big jump forward! More information will be made available on the transition to a default 1.4.4 tmodloader as we approach the target. Please stay tuned, and thank you for your patience.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
More of the same - getting TML 1.4.4 ready for prime time and then waiting to see what Terraria 1.4.5 will have in store and how we will need to adjust/account for any changes to bring TML up-to-date.
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
The team at DR Studios is aware of a handful of bugs that players have encountered on Console since the release of Terraria 1.4.4.9.2. We are actively working to resolve these issues, and we wanted to give you an update on our progress. First off, we have a few things fixed already - and we are working to add in at least a few others before submission to first parties. Second, we wanted to share our full list of known issues so that everyone can know that their reports have been heard. Of course, we welcome any and all additional information that anyone can supply regarding these bugs - you never know what might be the key piece of evidence to break open the investigation!
TERRARIA 1.4.4.9.3 Fixes Done
Fixed an issue where players couldn't use Multiplayer on Xbox when setting the "You can communicate with voice, text or invites" permission to "Block"
Fixed a Xbox issue where controller inputs would have a delayed reaction in the game
Fixed an issue where certain mouse inputs would prevent keyboard from working on Xbox
Xbox issue where the keyboard disconnects after an undetermined amount of game play
Fixed an issue where the game would stop responding to keyboard input after prolonged play
Fixed an issue where the game would crash when loading into Multiplayer
KNOWN ISSUES WITH FIXES UNDERWAY
Multiplayer not working for some users on Xbox
Issue where the game freezes suddenly for PS4 users
Old save data not showing anymore for some Xbox users
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

Last month, we revealed that our friends over at Terraria.Shop would be bringing the first lineup of Terraria minifigures to everyone very soon. Well, that time is now! To be clear, we expect these figures will be produced and ready to be in folks' hands sometime in Q3 of this year. At that time, we plan to have these as a readily-available product (with future series adding more enemies, NPCs, characters, etc to the lineup). However, we wanted to give everyone a chance to preorder now so that they could be sure to get theirs when the time comes!
For full details on how this will all work - including an exclusive free bonus figure for anyone that preorders - check out our post linked below!
We have even more fun things in store for everyone, but these are honestly REALLY cool, so we hope that everyone will enjoy them!
TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME REVEALED!
Last week, we shared the amazing news that Terraria will be coming to the world of board games in the near future. The great folks over at Paper Fort Games are hard at work already, with early prototypes already coming into focus. This board game implementation will expand the universe of Terraria by faithfully adapting and combining the digital game’s biome exploration, character progression, base building and epic combat with tabletop mechanisms - alongside a fresh new art style - to create a co-operative adventure that will resonate with both long-time fans and novice Terrarians.
To check out all of the details, be sure to take a minute to read our post about Terraria - The Board Game, which contains details about timing, how it will be sold, and more!
The Book One collection, which we are preparing for shipment to retailers, is still in the works. One thing that we were asked for was a suitably-epic cover to encompass the story thus far. We rather like it.
Emails have been proactively sent out to folks that 50amp is aware of that have had issues with the receipt of anything from Issues 1-4. However, there may be some delivery situations where they are not aware that issues have occurred. If you have not received the earlier email and/or you are still having issues with your order, please reach out to help@50ampproductions.com immediately so that we can take care of this ASAP. Feel free to let us at Re-Logic know via business@re-logic.com (we have been able to help with a few orders over the last month!) if you are having any issues as well, but the 50amp email above should be the best way to sort out any stragglers out there!
We have completed the character sketch and script phase for Issue 5 - so now the hard work to pull all of that art together is underway. We are super excited to be able to share the next stage of Vale's Terraria journey with you all very soon. In the meantime, you can look forward to further spoilers along the way... like this one, the latest in our teasers for the Goblin Army!

We are very excited to at long last be able to reveal that we are working with our good friends at Paper Fort Games on the official Terraria Board Game! As you can imagine, this is a huge project - and not one that we take lightly. This board game adaptation will expand the universe of Terraria by faithfully combining the digital game’s biome exploration, character progression, base building and epic combat with tabletop mechanisms - alongside a fresh new art style - to create a co-operative adventure that will resonate with both long-time fans and novice Terrarians!
"We are very excited to work with Re-Logic; as an indie design studio ourselves, we have deep respect for what such a small team have achieved, their commitment to making the best game possible and their dedication to the Terraria community. We can’t wait to bring the world of Terraria to the tabletop!" - Paper Fort Games
Terraria: The board Game box art. Dig, fight, explore and build in this co-operative tabletop adventure for 1-4 intrepid Terrarians!
What fun details can YOU find in the new cover art?
So, now that we have your attention, what's the timeline and the plan for Terraria: the Board Game?
TIMELINE
We expect that Terraria: the Board Game will take a good amount of time to develop and polish in order to land on a fantastic final version. As such, we do not expect it to be available this year (for example). We will narrow down the window more once we get to the crowdfunding stage and we have a better sense for progress and scope to-date.
Also, you can expect to see spoilers from time to time, as is tradition with Terraria!
PURCHASE & CROWDFUNDING
As is common in the Board Game space, this project will utilize crowdfunding to help ensure that the project can hit the scope and quality level that Terraria deserves. Paper Fort Games (and its sister company Stone Sword Games) have a great track record in this space with funding and bringing great games to the market. All of the details around this - timing, amounts, reward levels, etc. will be revealed in the months ahead.
WHAT'S NEXT AND HOW DO YOU KEEP INFORMED
Early alpha prototype: Will be on show at UK Games Expo (UK Games Expo), held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th June 2023. You’ll find Paper Fort Games at stand 1-1025. We would love for any Terrarians in the area to stop by, check it out, and let us know what you think!
We have also created a link for interested Terrarians to sign up to be sure that they always get the latest news on Terraria: the Board Game. We have shared this link below - so feel free to go ahead and sign up to be sure that you are in the know!
