Game System
We read a lot of feedback that you all had given us regarding Zahir and his throwing weapons, so with the release of a new throw character, we decided to improve throwing weapons as a whole. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this new change as well.
Throw/Shurikens reworked
  • New ammo system
    • Throw weapons and shurikens use charges. Each weapon has a different amount of maximum charges.
    • Throw weapons and shurikens recover 1 charge every few seconds. The recharge time varies per weapon.
    • The recharge times of most lower tier weapons are very short, making their use not that different from other weapon types.
    • Higher tier weapons like Venom Dart, Grenade, etc. don't give players the luxury of many charges and have a relatively slow recharge rate, so keep a replacement weapon in stock.
  • Throwing weapons
Along with the throwing system revamp, we had to make some tweaks to the weapons
    • The starting weapon for throw weapons is now Baseball (new).
    • Stones and Glass Bottle: changed from throw weapons to ingredients.

Optimization Improvements
A main focus of this patch was improving the optimization of the game. We have an endless list of things we want to do to improve optimization and each patch we try to cross off a few. In this update, we have really focused a lot on improving frame rates in the lategame.
Tech details that I don’t really understand and is hard to translate… Basically it boils down to “game better”
  • Improved camera call and damage display events.
  • UI ray casting optimization (UI occupation percentage reduced)
  • Removed a heavy process that would weigh down performance when in-game announcements occur.
  • Removed unnecessary graphics from character and weapon shaders.
  • Background resource optimization
Bug fixes
  • Improved inquiry handling in Korean chat.
  • Fixed bug where the opponent would become invisible because of the Throw weapon skill (Smokescreen).
  • Fixed bug where some players would be stuck in combat if they were around a player that was downed by Isol's Semtex Bomb (Q).

*Notice - Sissela's 0.15.0 update was planned for the 26th (Wednesday), but has been pushed back until the 28th (Friday) due to previous hotfixes on the current patch.

Before Sissela acquaints her enemies with Wilson on Lumia Island, here's a sneak peek of just how she'll do it with her skills!

Sissale uses Shurikens.

Passive > Agony

As Sissela's HP decreases, she gains HP regeneration and skill amplification. When Wilson returns to Sissela, her next normal attack deals additional damage and reduces the movement speed of enemies.

Q > Go Get 'Em Wilson!

Wilson flies in the targeted direction, dealing damage to enemies in his path and damage upon arrival.

W > Girl in a Bubble

Wilson embraces Sissela, blocking all damage and making her invulnerable. Wilson's shield explodes after the max time, or if the skill is activated again, dealing damage to enemies in an area around her and pushing them back.

E > Play With Us!

Wilson stretches his body in the targeted direction, pulling the first target hit.

Ally pull: the target receives a shield for a certain time and the cooldown of Play With Us! is reduced.
Enemy pull: Wilson deals damage and stuns the target.

R > Free at Last

Sissela channels for 1 second. After 3 seconds, Sissela deals damage to all enemies on the map, including herself. She deals additional damage in proportion to her lost HP. Sissela's HP will not drop below 1 when taking damage from this skill.

Dealing damage with this skill momentarily increases the damage from Agony.

Damage dealt depends on the distance between the enemy and Sissela.

The oft requested Sissela is here! And she brought a friend!
The Incurable Patient will be joining us on Lumia Island next week, along with her good buddies Wilson and Tommy (Which she lovingly named her IV bag and eye patch, respectively.)

As you might be able to deduce, Wilson will be taking a more active role in ER. The cute floating bubble will be an integral part of her play! “But GM Aesop, how? What are her skills?” I hear you asking, but you’ll just have to wait and see!

There’s no hospital gown for Sissela, she’s bandaged up and ready to tackle Lumia Island upon her arrival next week.

If you have any speculation or ideas of what she might do, I’d love to hear your thoughts on our Official Discord Server

The owner of the backpack has been found! Thanks to your suggestions on Discord and Twitter GM Aesop was able to track down said owner, who turned out to be none other than Silvia, the Swift Racer.

Aesop asked her about the feathers, Silvia said a chicken had flown into her bike while she was cruising around Lumia! "SV" has been added to her backpack to help prevent any mixups in the future...

Her beautiful blue bike is getting a tuneup in the shop and her wicked cool racing suit is being fitted in preparation for her arrival onto Lumia Island, so stick around here and on our Official Discord for some more Silvia reveals in the meantime!

Balance Changes
There’s a lot here. We’re always listening, so read up on what we tweaked based on what you’ve given us!

Attack range is a very important factor for characters, but it has been overlooked in Eternal Return. We want to make a clear difference so that characters that are attacking from close-range, whether it’s melee or close ranged, the closer character can gain a bit of a benefit from closing the gap.

Although the individuality and characteristics of weapons are important fun factors, we don’t want any particular weapon to feel useless. In particular, we are trying to keep normal attack damage reduction and skill damage reduction properly balanced.

Food is important in a starting route, we’ve reduced the efficiency of food that you can make in just one area.

Skill feedback always takes the longest to reflect in-game. First, we’re reading all the feedback you give us and we try to determine what we can change right away. For example, to adjust the oft requested cast time of Magnus's Broken Bullet (Q), we also need to adjust the animation, which will take approximately 1 to 2 months. We try to find a much easier way of fixing this - like increasing the range and seeing how that works. Naturally, there are skills that will take time to change no matter what, like Dual Sword Rampage, which we received feedback about in the CBT -- it’s been adjusted.

We can't always respond to a lot of feedback about balance, but we are always listening and trying to improve thanks to you.

Eternal Return - GM_GeeBly
We saw Xiukai's 3D model, but what does he do?! It's time to find out and get an early look at Xiukai's skills in Eternal Return before he kicks off Lumia Island's cook-off on August 12th.

Note: the free character rotation will start again August 12th, meaning you'll have to spend some of that hard-earned A-Coin in the store to permanently unlock characters. If you bought our End of Despair pack, please avoid buying characters included in the pack (see website) with A-Coin.

Let's check Xiukai's skills out:

Passive > Juggernaut Chef

Food and beverages made by Xiukai have bonus recovery. When crafting a food item of Uncommon or higher rarity, he earns a stack of Juggernaut Chef, increasing his max HP for each stack.

Q > Lost in the Sauce

Xiukai throws his sauce barrel in the targeted direction, dealing damage to enemies hit and reducing their movement speed.

W > Heavy Meal

Xiukai slams his giant wok on the ground, dealing damage and reducing the movement speed of enemies in an area around him. Enemies with impaired movement receive additional damage and their movement speed is reduced for an additional time.

E > Wok It Off

Xiukai slides on his wok in the targeted direction, dealing damage to enemies hit. Enemies with impaired movement receive damage and are knocked airborne.

R > Burnt to a Crisp

Xiukai dishes out fire from his wok, dealing damage to enemies in a cone in front of him. Enemies with impaired movement have their defense reduced.
