Eternal Return - GM_GeeBly
Hello my dear friends, GM Aesop here with another Character Quick Tips.

Today, we're gonna take a look at Aya's gameplay

  • Aya is very reliant on Auto Attacks, so use her Q to give her a quick burst of damage with 2 auto attacks.
  • Her W is a big source of DPS, especially against wild animals with predictable movements.
  • Moving Turn, her E, is a good source of movement. You can use it over walls to escape or to close the gap on a fleeing player.

Aya also has the ability to choose between 3 weapons. You can check all her weapons at a glance here as well, so think about which weapon you'd like to start with when you pick Aya in the 5th Alpha!

Of course, with our Quick Tips series, we'll have a short video on Thursday that'll give you an overview of some of her most efficient items!

You can always find these tips, and more, in the "Tip" section in-game.

You can also check out the "Aya Character Spotlight" video, right now, here:
Eternal Return - GM_GeeBly
Hello, this is GM_GeeBly!

Remember our post about each characters' most picked items during the 4th Alpha? Well, we had a lot of fun discovering the items that you guys used during the last test, and thought that we could now take this opportunity to suggest 3 items per character that we think fit them best, along with the best route possible!

Starting with Jackie! After we looked at our recommended skill combos in our last post, let's see which items and route we think fit Jackie best:

Each item benefits her in a different way. The Beam Axe just gives Jackie the raw power she needs to cut down her enemies. The Tactical OPS Helmet gives her attack speed and cooldown reduction, which allows her to proc her bleeds more. The Sword of Shah Jahan gives her more attack power and some skill amplification, so when she applies her bleed, it just does that much more damage.

The most efficient route to get all 3 items would then be Pond > Hospital > Factory > Cemetery > Chapel.

Which route do you usually take with Jackie?

Leave your own suggestions in the comments or come discuss about it with us on our Discord server.

Don't miss Aya's skill combos and recommended build next week!
Eternal Return - Aesop
What's up everyone it's ya boy, GM_Aesop.

Today we have the first of our Character Quick Tips series.
This'll be just a quick overview on Jackie's gameplay styles and combos.

  • If you find yourself in a fight as Jackie, first use her Q to apply the bleed.
  • Next, use her W to proc stacks of her bleed and get those big heals.
  • Finally, when your opponent is running for their life, use her E to close the gap and slow them to finish them off.
She also has the ability to use 4 weapons, each with their own unique ability. You can also see each weapons' type and characteristics at a glance, making it easy to see what you want to build the next time you play Jackie!
Following this quick tip "card", we also have a short video later this week that'll touch on her particular item crafting.
You can always find these tips, and more, in the "Tip" section in-game.

Eternal Return - John Doe
Hello, this is GM_John Doe.
Do you remember the 4th Alpha test stats shared about weapons used per character?

We felt like we should share not only information about weapons, but also about the most equipped items!

(※ Only includes items with epic rarity or higher)

Should we take a look?

[Jackie]
  • Weapon: Beam Axe
  • Chest: Optical Camouflage Suit
  • Head: Imperial Crown
  • Arm: Radar
  • Leg: Steel Knee Pads
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
Players used mostly the axe for Jackie, using also the Optical Camouflage Suit to increase critical strikes and the radar to increase the attack speed of the rather slow axe.

[Aya]
  • Weapon: Gatling Gun
  • Chest: Crusader Armor
  • Head: Tactical OPS Helmet
  • Arm: Radar
  • Leg: Maverick Runner
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
Items used with Aya, like the Tactical OPS Helmet and the Radar, are mostly to increase her attack speed as she mostly used the Assault Rifle weapon type.

[Hyunwoo]
  • Weapon: Buddha's Palm
  • Chest: Commander's Armor
  • Head: Imperial Crown
  • Arm: Sword of Shah Jahan
  • Leg: Straitjacket Sneakers
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
Hyunwoo was all about increasing skill damage. 5 of the items above have a skill damage increase effect.

[Magnus]
  • Weapon: Hammer of Thor
  • Chest: Commander's Armor
  • Head: Imperial Crown
  • Arm: Draupnir
  • Leg: Red Shoes
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
Magnus' items aimed to apply various effects, making him the one with the most various types of items.

[Fiora]
  • Weapon: Plasma Sword
  • Chest: Optical Camouflage Suit
  • Head: Imperial Crown
  • Arm: Radar
  • Leg: Steel Knee Pads
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
Fiora, who used mostly the two-handed sword weapon type, preferred like Jackie items to increase the attack speed and critical strike.

[Nadine]
  • Weapon: Elemental Bow
  • Chest: Butler's Suit
  • Head: Tactical OPS Helmet
  • Arm: Radar
  • Leg: Straitjacket Sneakers
  • Accessory: Moonlight Pendant
Nadine is quite similar with Aya as she mainly has items that increase her attack speed, but she also has items giving her life steal effects.

[Zahir]
  • Weapon: Wind and Fire Wheels
  • Chest: Commander's Armor
  • Head: Imperial Crown
  • Arm: Draupnir
  • Leg: Red Shoes
  • Accessory: Veritas Lux Mea
As Zahir gets different skill effects from his passive Eye of Azrael, his items mainly have skill damage increasing effects.

Eternal Return - Nimble Neuron
Hello, this is Nimble Neuron.
This has been a very meaningful year for our team.
We finally introduced BS:ER to the community and had 4 alpha tests together.
In that time, BS:ER evolved a lot thanks to the feedback and participation of the community!
In this post, we will rewind 2019 and take a look back at every alpha test and the many changes of BS:ER.

[1st Alpha test (2019.05.17~05.18)]

The 1st Alpha test contained only 3 characters: Aya, Jackie, and Hyunwoo.
It was the very first test introducing BS:ER to the community.

At the time of our first test, we hadn't even completed 10% of our final development goal!
There were a lot of concerns the team had about revealing a game that was not completed yet,
but a lot of players from all around the world participated and gave us valuable feedback.

[2nd Alpha test (2019.08.10)]

In the 2nd Alpha test, we mostly focused on strategic elements.
The main additions were, of course, the new character Magnus, and the introduction of weapon skills.

Day and Night phases were also put into the game, along with the bushes players could hide in.

We introduced the collection of natural resources like fishing, along with a timer that appears when wandering in restricted areas, which replaced the health reduction mechanic and improved fairness in the late-game.
The game was also made a bit more comfortable with the addition of the quick cast and quick crafting system, and players could easily try out the game with the Single Player Mode.

[3rd Alpha test (2019.10.11~10.13)]

We made a lot of changes based on the feedback received for the 3rd Alpha test. We also expanded and bit and opened the Frankfurt, Ohio, and Seoul servers.
The guide in the lobby made item recipe research easier, and the addition of the CCTV system made the map more accessible. The 3rd Alpha test also featured the appearance of the Hyperloop, which allowed players to fast travel to any zone on the map.

Naturally, this Alpha test was also an update on working towards the completion of the game.
Playing with sound was made possible with the addition of a BGM for each area and the sound of footsteps. Crafting animations were also improved so that it became easier to understand what actions players were doing.
Old models of wild animals were replaced with new ones, gradually giving BS:ER its own colors.

We cannot leave out the addition of new characters and weapons! The 3rd Alpha test welcomed Nadine and Fiora, along with their weapon types and corresponding weapon skills: the bow and stab types.

[4th Alpha test (2019.12.12~12.17)]

The 4th Alpha test, which took place just a few weeks ago, mainly saw improvements for combat elements.
The new character, Zahir, brought a new weapon to the island -- throwing weapons. We also saw the addition of new models for traps and some other new features. A fierce "wild animal", Wickeline, was added to the game along with new wild animal skills.

The map has also been improved with the appearance of things like telephone poles and other nice things, and the issue of finding multiple items in boxes has been resolved.
Announcer voices were also added in Korean, Japanese, and English to better understand and react to different situations in the game.
A new feature was also added, allowing you to compare your equipped item with other items, making your choice faster and easier.

There were also many changes in the lobby.

Item navigation had been reorganized with the addition of the saved recipes function, allowing you to plan out your recipes and routes.
The custom key binding was enabled, along with new languages and BGM.
With each Alpha test, we feel our players' passion and love and are extremely grateful for it.
We truly believe that BS:ER would not have grown so much without our community.
We hope that you all will be able to participate in our new upcoming Alpha test.
BS:ER will always welcome your support and participation. We will work hard to make your game experience even better.

_Nimble Neuron.
Eternal Return - John Doe
Hello! This is GM_JohnDoe.
We have come to the final rundown post of this 4th Alpha test.
This time, we will take a look at the health, defense, meditation and trap average masteries per character.

[Health]

The health mastery increases the maximum HP of your character.
Having more HP means having an advantage in the fight, right?

[Defense]

The defense mastery decreases the damage taken from normal attacks.
Taking less damage means that you have more chances to survive in combat.

[Meditation]

The meditation mastery increases your maximum SP.
Having more stamina means being able to perform more actions than your opponent.

[Trap]

Trap mastery increases the damage given by traps.
Install your traps at the right place and time, and you will become a critical threat for the enemy.

This is it for this 4th Alpha test rundown.
We cannot wait to see more statistics coming from all of your gameplay.
I will come back next time with more news.

Let there be glory to the pawns, who reach the end of despair!

P.S: 2019 is almost over.
We hope that everyone can enjoy the last few days of the year.
Eternal Return - John Doe
Hello! This is GM_JohnDoe.
In our game, there are many masteries beside the weapon mastery.
Each mastery gives you bonus effects, and you can experience very different gameplay with the same character just by changing which masteries you level up first.
Today let's take a look at the hunting, crafting, searching and movement average masteries per character.

[Hunting]

You can level up your hunting mastery by fighting wild animals.
The damage dealt with wild animals increases with your mastery level, allowing you to hunt even faster.

[Crafting]

The crafting mastery increases the effects of your equipped items.
So your equipped items become more efficient as you level up.

[Searching]

The searching mastery allows the character to have a wider range of vision, thus allowing to search areas more easily.
Having a wider range of vision also means you can react to what happens to your surroundings faster, right?

[Movement]

The movement mastery increases the movement speed of the character, allowing you to move faster.
Moving faster than others makes it easier to adapt to the ever-changing situations in the game.
Which mastery do you choose to level up first, and why?
Let's talk about this on our Discord server!
I will come back next time with another addition to this 4th Alpha test's rundown.

Let there be glory to the pawns who reach the end of despair!

P.S: Happy Christmas to everyone!

The 4th Alpha test taught us some lessons about what our players require to enjoy and better understand the game.

We took everyone's unique game experiences and studied your feedback and comments about how you see the game -- and we got A LOT of feedback. Like a lot. We want to thoroughly address all of your feedback better and prepare for the Early Access launch by hosting a 5th Alpha test sometime between February and March.

Consequently, we'll be postponing our launch into Early Access. Our final overall goal is for players to have an awesome experience -- so please understand that we are doing this to make sure every user will have an incredible game experience upon its Beta release on Steam. (Trust me, we want to play the game just as much as you guys.)

Despite it taking a bit longer to enjoy the game whenever you want, we will still be committed to keeping you connected to its development, just as we always have.

Thank you for your support.

Hello, this is GM_John Doe.

For the second 4th Alpha test rundown, let's take a look at which weapon was used most per character.
Each weapon has a distinct mastery.
This mastery increases by using the weapon or crafting.
Therefore, the higher the mastery level, the more the weapon was used.
Let's check out the most used weapons per character in the 4th Alpha test?

Jackie - Dagger, Two-handed sword, Axe, Dual Sword

Jackie used the Axe the most.
All her other weapons were used in similar amounts.

Aya - Pistol, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle

Aya used her Assault Rifle the most.

Hyunwoo - Gloves, Tonfas

Hyunwoo used the Gloves more than the Tonfas.
There was quite a big difference in the number of uses for both weapons.

Magnus - Hammer, Bat

Between the two weapons, Magnus used the Hammer the most.
The gap between the usage of the two weapons is smaller than Hyunwoo's.

Fiora - Rapier, Two-handed Sword, Spear

Fiora used the two-handed sword the most.
However, there isn't much of a gap between the usage of her two-handed sword and her other two weapons.

Nadine - Bow, Crossbow

Nadine used the bow the most.
Like Hyunwoo, the difference between the amount of usage of the bow and crossbow is quite big.

Zahir - Throw, Shuriken

Zahir used two new weapon types: "throw" and "shurikens".
Our 4th Alpha testers preferred the Shurikens.

This was the results of most used weapon per character for this 4th Alpha test.
Let us know if these results are different from what you expected!
I'll be back soon with another addition to the 4th Alpha test rundown.

Let there be glory to the pawns who reach the end of despair!
