Activision have won their legal battle with the makers of Humvees over Call Of: Duty Modern Warfare games using lookalike warcars without permission. AM General and Activision’s lawyers have been sniping back and forth since 2016, and on Tuesday a judge finally called the case in a summary judgement. The ruling basically says that CoD using Humvees has “artistic relevance” and any harm AM General suffers is minor weighed up against free speech. Case closed, back in your car.

A remastered version of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is hitting PC on April 30th, bringing improved audio and visuals to what’s pretty widely considered one of COD’s best singleplayer stories. Note that it is just the singleplayer campaign we’re getting a remaster of – if you were expecting to be able to drop on some of your old favourite multiplayer maps like in 2016’s MW Remastered, well, think again, as multiplayer and Spec-Ops missions aren’t included.

New maps, new modes and new missions are what you lot have to expect when you log into Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare later, because Season Two drops today marking the return of a couple of Modern Warfare 2 fan-favourites. This season you’ll be able to get some games in on the classic map, Rust, and if you buy the Battle Pass you’ll be able to play as British spec-ops operator, Ghost (who I always thought looked more like a skeleton tbh but Ghost is a cool name too).

Can you believe it - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's been out for nearly three months now. Imagine if a message were to appear telling you to reset all your multiplayer progress since then in order to play a match.

But that's exactly what some players were shown last night, as the latest patch introduced more than Infinity Ward bargained for.

The error message, which popped up for some people after the update, told users their data was "corrupt or didn't download properly" and they'd have to reset their rank and unlocks to fix it. In other words, losing all the loadout options, killstreaks, field upgrades and perks they'd achieved through hard grinding since launch. Nightmare fuel.

One of the more controversial missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sees the player respond to a terrorist attack on Piccadilly Circus. But it turns this is quite an old idea - like, Modern Warfare 2 old.

THERE MAY BE SPOILERS AHEAD.

An eagle-eyed Call of Duty player took to the Modern Warfare subreddit to post a screenshot of 2009's Modern Warfare 2 showing a newspaper clipping found in Makarov's safehouse. The appropriately-named redditor NuclearFPS pointed out one newspaper in particular carries new meaning in the context of the recently-released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, as it reports on a bombing in Piccadilly Circus.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One was announced as the "biggest free content drop in COD history" when it was unveiled back in December - so there's good news if you haven't yet chewed through all that content, as the season is being extended into February.

Having begun on December 3rd, the season was supposed to run until the end of January - but is now ending on 11th February. The reason for the extension, according to Infinity Ward, is to give players room for all the bonus activities being added in the next few weeks. This will include "...a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow weapon, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more in the Store to discover".

"During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two," Infinity Ward added.

From now until the end of the month, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward is donating all proceeds from its Outback Pack DLC to the Australian wildfire crisis.

Activision's donation includes any sales made before the charity drive was announced right up until the end of January, and includes sales sold across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The idea to donate proceeds originally came from the CoD Reddit community (thanks, dotesports), and while no official IW rep responded to the suggestion at the time, just a few days later IW and Activision announced the charity drive on Infinity Ward's social media channels.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will get 3v3 Gunfight, additional loadouts and a raft of bug and exploit fixes, developer Infinity Ward has said.

In the first major community update of 2020, Infinity Ward said it'll also bring back the Gunfight Tournament, last seen in November 2019.

Elsewhere, Infinity Ward promised to tackle a number of bugs and exploits currently hot topics within the community. Among them is a fix for an exploit that sees players get out of the map in Ground War (Emma reported on glitchers in Ground War yesterday), and mission collision on containers on multiplayer map Cargo.

We've had spawns raining men, tactical insertion teleports and players flying around the unreleased battle royale map - but now another glitch has gained prominence in the Modern Warfare community... albeit for all the wrong reasons. This time it's a more traditional online multiplayer problem: wall glitchers, who appear to be plaguing certain corners of Modern Warfare's maps.

Until a player inserts a tank into said corner, that is.

On the Modern Warfare subreddit and YouTube, users have been reporting issues with wall glitchers for several weeks - highlighting hotspots in Ground War maps such as a point near D in Tavorsk, one around C in Krovnik Farmland, and a severe under-map glitch in Port. Some of the most recent posts show wall glitchers inside silos in Karst River Quarry, and players demanding a teammate stop exploiting a glitch in Piccadilly.

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player has used a spectator glitch to explore the game's battle royale map.

Redditor KingBeezoR used the glitch, which is triggered within a private game with free spectating and the spawn camera enabled, to free roam high above the recently-added Vacant map.

Vacant is a fan-favourite map that first appeared in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. What's interesting about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare version of Vacant is it's set within the Massive Ground War map, Port of Verdansk - and it's this feature that means you can use it to explore the upcoming - but so far unannounced - battle royale map.
