Non-historical Christmas camouflage for Spitfire HF Mk.IXe, made by cambridge79 | download here

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
Prepare for various specials over the holiday period in War Thunder, these will be announced later!

The year 2014 was a big one for War Thunder, and we want to thank each and every one of our players for their continuous support and loyalty. Our game has grown significantly not only in terms of new features and content, but also in the number of players that are regularly enjoying the battles of War Thunder on land and in the air. Cross platforming brought us new friends from the Playstation 4 and Linux platforms to add to the existing PC and Mac player base, welcome guys! We have seen numerous new aircraft for all of the air forces being released, and in May launched Ground Forces with three research trees for the USSR, Germany and recently, the US. The development of the game is continuing to progress at a fast pace, with countless of minor updates and four major updates released this year with many amazing features added, including our Death and Kill cam for ground vehicles, tow cables, the armour viewer and the x-ray tool for both ground and air vehicles. And this is far from what we have planned, so stick around and enjoy many more years of War Thunder with us!

Happy holidays! o7

“We just had to make this model – it has a beautiful cast hull which embodies the development of American tank design. Apart from that, the tank just looks great!”

“Note the rubberized tracks – this was a technical solution that was actually characteristic of American tanks.”

“The gun mantlet here is from the very earliest versions, the narrow one. Later on, the Shermans received wider and more reliable gun mantlets. On this Sherman, like on other tanks, you can see its number and marking – for example, on the gearbox’s protective piece at the front. This isn’t a real number, we don’t want to attach it to a specific tank model – it’s more important to us to transfer the spirit of the tank, a generalized collective model of it.”

“The Stuart was the first American tank to see serious combat. It goes without saying that we couldn’t skip this model! The tank has many modifications; we’ll definitely be adding more Stuarts in the future, including the Soviet lend-lease version.”

Svetlana Smirnova, lead artist
“Note the metal instrument on the side of the tank’s hull. It isn’t a giant pair of pliers like it seems, it’s a mount point for a Browning machine gun – it was designed to allow for mounting one in the factory. Incidentally, these fittings can be found on other tanks too, not just the Stuart.”
