The fifth DLC for hexceed is here and brings with it 125 new levels! Each level in this DLC includes a brand new mechanic! Big Tiles! This DLC includes tutorial levels for the new mechanic and how it interacts with other mechanics!
Big Tiles are 2 or more hexagons merged into 1 Big Tile! These tiles act as a single hexagon and read the number of bombs immediately adjacent to the big tile! They come in multiple shapes and sizes to keep things interesting!
Don't get too comfortable! Some of the Big Tiles will also be Bombs!
As you progress through Cessabit, one by one, each of the previously introduced mechanics will be included in this world so you will need to learn how each mechanic you have already mastered interacts with Big Tiles!
hexceed V1.7 Patch Notes
New Features
Added the new "Cessabit" world! - 125 new levels, each with the new "Big Tile" mechanic!
Added a new "Big Tile" mechanic! - These new mechanics allow regular hexes to merge together to form bigger hexes. Big Tiles can act as either one big hex (which shows you the number of bombs around its perimeter) or one big bomb (where other tiles will count the tile as one bomb, regardless of size). Big Tiles can be made into all sorts of shapes and sizes, so be prepared for some new puzzle scenarios to solve!
Some more Localization Improvements! - Specifically for the languages: Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. DLC names and the game's title are now translated to the appropriate alphabet, this includes making the hexceed logo update to translated version!
Bug Fixes and Misc
Fixed a bug where couldn't scroll to the bottom of the credits page. (Sorry Gary <3)
Fixed a bug where the countdown to the next DLC was out by an hour.
Fixed a typo "Contine" -> "Continue"
Fixed a Latin Translation error.
Fixed a bug where if you closed and re-opened a DLC that you don't have installed, you would be shown the default text of "Hey you should buy the DLC please, we have pets to feed". It's not wrong, just not what we intended.
Fixed a bug where changing language wouldn't update the text for the currently selected world.
Removed the hexceed logo from the intro splash screen.
Farideh and Havilar have a friendly sibling rivalry, and they bring that to our weekend promo! They join Bruenor, Hew Maan, and Drizzt in receiving an extra buff to help you finish up the final weekend of the Great Modron March before it comes to an end Monday the 31st at noon Pacific!
You can now use an image to load a large number of physics objects into a level and force will constantly be exhurted to try and keep each pixel object in its proper position as it is in the images (formation).
See the video for a demo and possible applications for this feature.
Hello everyone! It's the second of Friday Frontier. Today we want to talk about the two massively different environments you'll be in when you play the game. And also, what their differences are.
So you start the game in a safe station. You need to unlock all stations to escape. You need to move to the next station which means going outside.
Outside
Out there in the dust storm, there are lots of things that can go wrong. You're on an alien planet with constant dust storms. You're just a small part of the world and we want you to feel that. Everything you'll encounter is huge and the distances are vast. The enemy is a giant alien snake that can flatten huge buildings. It's constantly looking for you and roaming around the map. We want the snake to be a real living part of the world so we won't teleport it at any condition. He'll look for you through his senses and it'll react to your actions.
Obstacles:
Distances are vast, so reaching your objectives is harder. We'll give you some transportation options but they'll have some kind of drawback
Bridges, broken roads, mountains, etc.
Devices that require power to operate. For example, the road might be blocked by an energy barrier and you need to power it somehow to lift the barrier. Though, due to the game's immersive-sim nature, there'll probably multiple ways to solve these types of problems. (Check out our last Friday update for more info about power mechanics)
Weather changes. Heavy fog, no fog, acid rain, strong winds, etc. (This system not decided for sure)
We're still working on the outside mechanics. On the inside, there are plenty of mechanics for the player to interact with so we want the same amount of interesting stuff for the outside.
Inside
Finally, after a scare from that snake, you made it to the station. But the journey is far from over. There are one or more giant centipedes crawling around the station. They can kill you much faster than snakes. For them, you need to use stealth mechanics or plan around their movements. We're thinking of giving tools and traps for dealing with these creatures. Maybe you can disable, hurt or kill them. But you can be sure that it won't be easy. Once you unlock the station, they'll escape and you'll have some time to relax.
Obstacles:
Objectives are much closer but the threat of centipede is much higher so you need to be much more careful while moving
Hack panels
Like on the outside, there will be power ports inside the station as well. But their effect will be much more limited and local.
Hazard System. Some pipes might be broken and they'll leak their stuff outside. For example, this can create fires, radiation, freezing temperatures. You'll need to work around them. (This system not decided for sure)
Station-specific obstacles.
We want to make every station unique in some ways. In the story, this is already the case. We want each station's situation to affect the gameplay and your plans.
The overall gameplay loop of the game, at its core, is like this:
So we might say that there's a third environment. One where you're safe and have time to plan and craft stuff before moving out to the next station. The game will be relaxed in terms of giving you an objective. So it won't be a linear experience. You can decide which station you want to go to next and how you'll deal with the obstacles ahead. We want to make every experience unique.
So that's it for today's update! Sorry for the long post. The next ones are probably not going to be this long. But tell us what you think!
Hello and welcome back to WGTChampionâs Corner where I ask you all to gather âround and then I ramble about golf video games. Iâm glad you still gather. I really appreciate it.
The main things I want to point out:
USGA eSports Grand Slam: Virtual Open at Olympic Club live stream date has changed from June 7 to June 12.
Weâre upgrading our Unity version so it may be a short while before you see a new client update.
Why is a Unity upgrade important?
Letâs start with number 1. The Virtual Open at Olympic Club live stream will see 10 players compete for big prizes on Olympic Club. It was originally scheduled for Monday June 7, but it has been moved to Saturday, June 12. Saturdays are more fun.
Number 2! You may have noticed our downtime this week was not followed by an update to download. We were able to bring you the latest Callaway equipment, a Tie Dye shirt, and some new WGT Classics from the server downtime alone without having to download a new update when you launched the game.
The reason for this is that our engineering team is currently focused on upgrading Unity, the game engine that powers WGT, to a newer version. This update is more behind-the-scenes work, so you shouldn't expect to necessarily see anything new just yet., until we start rolling out the improvements made possible by it.
Is that like when iTunes updates? It is not.
There are a number of reasons this update is important, mainly that it will allow us to continue improving the game and your experience, and will make future features possible. Itâs a time consuming project to do the upgrade and make sure everything is working correctly, which is why weâre being extremely careful and taking the time needed to do it right.
When we finish extensive testing and feel comfortable with the update we will be rolling it out one platform at a time as another precaution. We're intentionally rolling it out slowly and when you receive the update, if you think âWow, none of this seems different at all,â then youâll know we did our job well.
NUMBER 3! So why is this so important? For a number of reasons. The biggest reason is that new versions of Unity come with new features that we plan to use in future features and updates. It will help make sure weâre compliant with app store updates and allows us to integrate more services.
BONUS! Rapid fire round!
We have two server downtimes scheduled for June. These are currently scheduled for the nights of June 22 and June 29. The June 22 downtime is for maintenance and the June 29 one is our normal downtime. Keep an eye out for formal announcements on those days.
Another round of WGT Classic apparel released earlier this week. Weâre hoping to get some more out at the end of June. Sorry they havenât been coming out as frequently as we originally planned. Releasing Torrey Pines was the priority and delayed the rollout but weâre getting back on track.
The first Showdown Rush starts this Saturday, May 29. Thereâs only one round of qualifiers so donât wait to enter!
The Tie Dye shirt is super cool.
Torrey Pines will be added to all your favorite game modes at the end of June. That means coin games, match play, alt shot, single player rounds, country club tournaments. But what about [INSERT GAME MODE HERE]? Yes, that one too! Until then, you can play it as many times as you like in the Virtual U.S. Open Qualifier tournament.
TOTS is a chance to look back at the seasonâs highs, goals, standouts and breakthroughs. Itâs been a season like no other, with moments like no other. From standout saves, game-saving tackles and fire-hot strikes, the Ligue 1 UberEats TOTS is a collection of this yearâs very best players from all over the pitch.
Thank Oryx Itâs Friday! In a lovely conversation with our Testers and UGC members, we came up with a series of things that might indicate you have been playing a bit of RotMG. How many of these can you relate to?
You have a worn out R key;
You have a notable affinity for âkeysâ;
When you mention âPPEâ, the first thing you think of isnât personal protective equipment;
You always check the white bags that arrive from the grocery store. You never know;
You have a love â hate relationship with DECA. (We love you, tho.);
You have seen Niegil die once or twice;
Trying to max out characters and being extra careful with them in any other game, despite it not; being permadeath, nor meant for grinding;
You have a pet named Oryx;
You organize a night out with friends through Discord and call it a ârunâ;
You end up staying home because thereâs still a pandemic going onâŚ
Oh, and donât forget. On the 2nd of June it will be the first time youâll be able to purchase the Scientific Summoner ST. At that same day youâll be able to claim the free âBe proudâ pack.
I added a new animated lighting mood called "Cloudy". It is a bright blue background with sun rays from the left and animated clouds.
Block Styles
Lately I've been neglecting the block style a bit. That's why I have create three new ones.
The first static block style is called "Isometric". It has its origin from optical illusions and looks like a block out of smaller blocks.
The second static block style is called "Dash". There are two variants of it. One colorless version and one with color. It is helpful for colorblind people or if the set environment has very few lights. This makes it easier to differ color states of blocks.
The last block style is animated and called "Wobble" and the name really reflects what it does.
4D Levels
Last but not least I added 30 new levels and achievements for the 4D Pentachoron 4x4x4x4 matrix.
It starts fairly easy, but gets hard to solve very quick. So I recommend this one only for experienced riddlers.
With the addition of these new levels there are now over 600 handcrafted levels to solve and therefore 1800 stars to collect.
These features will be available with the next and last update before release.
