I trust you are all well! We have some new content today, deployable archery targets, some new competitions and the Manly Man event! I have not had much time this past week to get to the range, however I did manage to install my new arrow rest and I am super happy with it so far, however it is super early days. I installed it on the bow, took it to the testing room and it was shooting bullet holes straight off the bat. So I can not ask for much better than that… I think I just got super lucky to be honest!
If you are not sure what the above image is, these are the holes made by my arrows in nothing but paper. It is used to see how straight my arrows are leaving the bow. Before I had my new rest, there were huge vertical tears in the paper as my old arrow rest was bumping the end of the arrow upwards and the arrow was flying with the fletched end, higher than the tip. After flight time, the arrow levels out thanks to the fletchings, but if you can get the arrows flying straight to start with, your results are going to be much better. This weeks video has some very nice animals taken in it, both with bow and rifle. I think i’ll let the video speak for itself. It is Tuesday and the Status Update is out, why? Because we have a two day off sight meeting that starts tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure it still went out.
After the feedback from last week’s Status Update, I will keep adding updates about my archery and hunting when I have something to share. The main reason I add them to the start of the Updated, is not to show boat, but this is actually the hardest part to write week in and week out. So it is nice to have something to open the Status Update with.
This week I just have a few quick updates, my accuracy is getting much more consistent and I can now hit the yellows more often than not, which is a nice little confidence boost.
I have finally tied my peep sight in properly, as I was unaware that it was not and now it does not float up and down… I know, looking back I should have known something was not right, but thats learning!
Last night I purchased a new drop away arrow rest as, the QAD I have, has no vertical adjustment. I decided to go for a G5 C-Max, as I really like their products and they look well engineered. They are limb activated as well, which means there will be no more interference on my buss cable when the shot is released.
This weeks video I managed to stumble across randomly, one bonus of having autoplay on while I type away. This gives a good indication of what goat hunting is like, this is however in Australia and not New Zealand. By the looks of it, I would say these goats do not get shot at a lot, but it does provide a good indication of how close you can get to them. How are you this week? This week I am going to ask you if you actually enjoy reading about my archery progression and hunting adventures? As I was thinking last night, perhaps it is a drag to read and you are just here for the game news? So please let me know in the comments, no offense will be taken, I thought I should just give you guys a say in it all.
This weeks video is something that one of my rifle friends showed me, he likes to give me stick about converting to archery, so in jest he suggested I could use one of these. Pretty impressive bit of gear, however for me it’s kinda like driving one of those three wheeled motorbikes. Remember this shows real footage, so if you prefer to keep your fix virtual, DO NOT CLICK Here.
Doc Themed Event
Well, either you guys didn’t like the wolves, or the prizes were good enough to tempt even the wolf lovers to participate! Either way, good stuff and it was awesome to see the community come together to achieve a common goal! There will be other events along the same lines coming up in the not to distant future. However they will have much harder goals!
We originally announced this week that the event would come to an end early. We did this with good intentions, as we had more events ready to go and were excited to be able to provide an action packed month. We are sorry to the people that we unintentionally infuriated, the event will stay open the original time frame so everyone has a chance to harvest their 25 wolves.
Magpie Goose Missions
Today we release Magpie Goose missions, it is a super fun and challenging mission pack, that I am sure you will enjoy! Good luck!
Update About Memberships and Business Model
Yesterday we announced that we are revising the business model for theHunter: Classic. Make sure you head over to our forum and have a read!

Free Rotation
This week Water Buffalo and Banteng are free to hunt, good luck!
Well, it feels like forever since I wrote the last one of these, well seven weeks to be precise! I had an absolute blast back in New Zealand and Australia. I also put my bow to good use and managed to get some blood on a few arrows, in total I took four goats, two rabbits and two hares with the bow. I have some videos from my hunts, sadly the days I did decide to record, I saw animals but didn’t manage to down any, but it will give you a good idea of where I grew up and the terrain I am use to hunting in. I need to edit it them all together, once I am happy with it, i'll upload it to YouTube. But if you want to read a write up about my hunts and see the animals I bagged, you can have a little read here. I don’t know if I will ever pick up a rifle again, I just don’t think pulling the trigger will ever meet the adrenaline rush, or sense of achievement that bow hunting has shown me. The only problem now, I have a huge itch that I can not scratch over here in Sweden, so I am starting to put together some plans for hunting next season… in another country!
This weeks video came out a little over a month ago and features Joe Rogan and John Dudley. It’s a shorter video and I think Joe gets a little bit too Joe on it, but credit where credit is due, he pulls off a nice shot and it is still a good video! Doc Themed Event
“Howdy Hunters!
Doc here, I have heard reports about the wolf population in Timbergold’s starting to get out of hand, so I went and took a look myself, you guys were not kidding! They need thinning out a little, not only for the benefit of the other species in the area, but to insure we do not get a disease outbreak amongst the packs. So I am reaching out to all hunters in the EHR for your help to bring the population back inline. As a collective community I need you to shoot every damn wolf you see, bring their tails in as proof and as the population comes down, you will all be rewarded in stages, with some great prizes. To make things a bit easier for you all, I have had some sound technicians put together a new E-call that attracts wolves! Good luck to you all and thanks in advance.”
You read that right hunters, it is time to do something about the wolf population once and for all. Collectively as a community if you manage to meet the goals Doc has set, not only will you be rewarded with some great prizes, but the wolf population will be reduced in Timbergold Trails, FOR GOOD!
There is now a new E-Call that can be purchased in the store and when used in conjunction with the “Shockwave’ Electronic caller it can be used to call in wolves. This should make things easier and I would imagine ambushing them as a team, would be a good way to thin those packs out!
The goals that Doc has set out and the rewards are as follows:
Depending what Milestone you reach, will determine on how much the wolf population will be reduced by. If you manage to meet the Legend tier, the population will be reduced by half, for good! As the Milestones are reached, wolves will disappear from the banner in the launcher, which can also be clicked on to read more information. There is also a visual counter that can be found in the top right of the launcher.
Prizes will be distributed at the end of the event. Each tier that is reached will unlock the prizes allocated to it, so if the community unlocks the final tier, everyone will get the top tier prizes and all the prizes for the lower tiers as well.
To qualify for the prizes you must harvest at least 25 wolves, Doc doesn’t like freeloaders!
Good luck all and have fun!
New Engraved Drilling Combination Gun
You can now buy the new engraved Drilling Rifle. If you are a hunter that likes their guns to be a little more detailed, this is for you! Take a look.

The heaviest weighing unspooked Bobcat shot with a .223 Semi-Automatic Rifle from a Tower, Treestand, Ground Blind, Tripodstand or Shooting Tripod Rest is your competition entry.
Nothing Purr-sonal
The highest scoring unspooked Bobcat shot with a .50 Cap Lock Muzzleloader at under 25 meters (Approx. 82 feet) is your competition entry. Target must be shot in the heart or lungs only.

Big congrats to lazygirl5 for this monster of a Blacktail. Considering that Black Bear was the aim of the hunt at the time it goes to show you should always keep your eyes open for what else may appear!

Removed Rudolph population.
Bug fixes:
Fixed ptarmigan scoring issues in multiplayer.
Wolves now lay down when shot in the spine, instead of just standing still.
Fixed a multiplayer issue where players who had certain items equipped would not synchronize their animations to other players.
Waterfowls will no longer sink through the water and then slowly come back up again.
The feedback message that shows up when you try to place a Scout Bolt Action Rifle on too steep ground will no longer show up for other players in a multiplayer session.
Trophy of the Week
This week’s Trophy of the Week goes to LimJahey. A little shy of the top 100, but still a beautiful Blacktail all the same, congratulations!
Rare of the Week
Rare of the week goes to IanBiel (with a little help from their friend KBCAO) for this gorgeous piebald deer. Well done!
And that about wraps up our Status Update this week, don’t forget to tune in to tomorrow’s stream!
