Underboard - Braveado

Today is (technically) the 5th anniversary of Dead Estate, including 4 years on Steam, and we're happy to celebrate it with a special guest character that just appeared in the Underboard!

Being another game that started on Newgrounds, and especially now that we also share the same publisher, Dead Estate's success is a great inspiration for us, so we wanted to use this opportunity for something special.

Initially we thought of adding Cordelia (because of 2 BIG reasons) as a skin for an existing character, but we managed to also add Jules in time for the anniversary, so instead of character skins, we decided to make them a unique character.

Here's how you'll be able to get them in your team:

  • You can now find Jules among other characters in any bonfire.

  • She is treated as a "rare" character, meaning that you'll see her less often than other characters, but you can expect her to be a bit stronger from the get go.

  • To get Cordelia, you'll have to level up Jules to level 3.

  • Since they are a unique character instead of just skins, they have their own skills themed around guns from Dead Estate.

We hope you'll like making teams with them, and congrats to Dead Estate for reaching this awesome milestone!

It's hard to believe it's already been four whole years since the full release of Dead Estate, and that we're already coming up on a year since the final update!

Console ports are still underway and I've been working on them pretty much all year. I'd be lying if I said that there hasn't been lots of headaches involved with developing these things, but the whole process has been incredibly enlightening. We're looking forward to having the ports out as soon as possible.

In addition to working on ports, I'm really excited to say that we've begun developing our second "big" game! I won't say too much about it now - it's still pretty early in dev - but I will say that it's a very self-indulgent project and I got the idea for it after playing lots and lots of UFO 50 (which is a real frontrunner for one of my favorite games released in the last...ever. Play it!). Mumba enjoyers will have a lot to chew on. That's all!!!

2 Left Thumbs simply wouldn't exist as it is today without the positive reception and success seen by Dead Estate. This wonderful game allowed me to lay a more solid foundation, and continue investing in new talent on projects I myself am excited to play.

Bringing things somewhat full circle, one of the big new titles I've got coming in early 2026 is a horror-themed roguelike that first cut its teeth over on Newgrounds.

Since some players seem to experience performance issues, I’ve slightly lowered the shadow quality, just enough to keep things looking decent. Even though this reduces memory usage significantly, it doesn’t mean the game can be played without a GPU. Because the game uses dynamic lighting and shadows for the day-and-night cycle, it will always require a proper graphics card. While the cycle isn’t yet fully relevant, it will be in the future, so I won’t remove dynamic lighting or its shadows. You won’t notice much difference on high settings, but lower settings will show it more clearly. I’ll continue testing and adjust it as needed, it’s not final yet.

Sole Duty - Siar Games

I’m happy to announce that playtest registration for Sole Duty is now open! You can sign up right on the Steam page to be among the first to try it once it’s ready.

The upcoming playtest will focus on the core cleaning and management gameplay: how it feels to scrub the floor, collect new relics, and grow the museum. Your feedback will help shape how the game plays and feels before release.

안녕하세요! 이번 업데이트에서는 더욱 더 다채로운 꿈을 즐길 수 있도록 도와주는 의상과 꿈의 주민에 대한 패치가 이루어졌습니다.

'유민준' 의상 추가


다양한 의상으로 바꿀 수 있는 특별한 TV에 민준의 힘과 모습을 빌리는 의상이 추가됩니다.

해당 의상을 착용할 경우 기본 스킬 아이템인 푹신한 베개 대신 무작위 스킬 아이템으로 시작합니다. 시작 능력치 또한 무작위 수치로 조정되며, 조합에 따라 평소보다 강해질 수도, 약해질 수도 있습니다. 마지막으로, 전투에서 승리할 때마다 능력치를 크게 높이지만 받는 피해가 증가하는 무작위 '악몽의 잠재력' 효과도 받게 됩니다.

다양한 무작위 효과가 담긴 해당 의상을 통해 여러모로 예측하기 힘들지만 더욱 다채로운 꿈을 꿔 보세요!


꿈의 주민 개선

미래의 꿈에 등장하는 꿈의 주민들 중 일부는 큰 도움이 되지 않거나 적극적인 거래를 하기엔 힘든 경우가 많았습니다. 이번 패치를 통해 꿈의 주민들의 능력을 더욱 유용히 활용하거나 더욱 많은 선택을 할 수 있도록 개선해보고자 하였습니다.

  • 냠냠미
    보스를 미리 알려주는 기능에 비용이 없어지는 대신 이제 음식을 제공하지 않으며, 코인을 소모해 다음 스테이지에 도달하면 주문한 아이템 혹은 음식을 받을 수 있는 배달 서비스가 추가되었습니다.
  • 라벨라
    최대 생명력을 바치는 거래가 무작위 악몽 아이템을 제공하는 대신 최대 SP, 특수 피해, 쿨다운 중 하나를 증가시킬 수 있게 되었습니다.
  • 에스투스
    시너지 아이템 판매 가격이 감소하며, 악몽 아이템 3개 중 하나를 선택해 거래할 수 있는 기능이 추가되었습니다.
  • 린드오름
    이제 생명력 소모량이 증가하는 대신 보상을 받기 위한 결투 요구 횟수가 줄어들며, 최대 SP를 소모해 최대 생명력, 물리 피해, 속도를 증가시킬 수 있습니다.
  • 캡슐짱
    기존의 캡슐보다 더욱 비싼 대신, 더욱 좋은 보상이 나올 확률이 있는 '특별 캡슐 뽑기'가 추가되었습니다.
  • 타리사
    보상 방에서 만나게 될 시 받게 되는 잠재력의 종류가 2종 추가되며, 이제 악몽의 솥에서도 잠재력을 받을 수 있게 됩니다.
소망 개선
기존 '자금의 소망'의 경우 단순히 코인 획득량만 증가하는 단순한 효과였으나, 이제 좀 더 재미있고 높은 활용도를 가지는 '선택의 소망'으로 변경됩니다. 선택의 소망은 매 스테이지마다 아이템 선택지를 1회 변경할 수 있게 해 주며 더욱 다양한 선택의 길을 열어줄 것입니다.


아이템 추가
코인에 비례하여 속도가 증가하는 '우승 트로피'와, 빙결 부여 시 화상을 부여하고 화상 해제 시 일정 확률로 화상을 재부여 하는 '차갑게 식은 성냥' 아이템이 추가되었습니다. 현재 해당 아이템들의 시너지 효과는 없지만 이후에 아이템이 더 추가되면 시너지 효과 역시 개방될 예정입니다.


버그 수정 및 기타 개선
  • 아이템 선택지 표시 도중 메뉴를 열어 장착 및 소지 아이템을 확인할 수 있게 됩니다.
  • 생명력을 감소시키는 선택지의 경우, 요구하는 생명력보다 현재 생명력이 낮을 경우 이를 선택할 수 없도록 변경되었습니다.
  • 크기가 작거나 눈에 띄지 않는 일부 적들의 공격 크기나 색상을 변경해 가시성을 개선하였습니다.
  • 장소 이동 도중 배경 음악이 갑작스레 끊기는 느낌을 최소화하도록 개선하였습니다.
  • 상점 이외 꿈의 주민의 선택지를 통한 코인 소모도 도전 횟수의 영향을 받게 됩니다.
  • 일부 꿈의 주민에게 무작위 대사가 추가되었습니다.
