Previous save files might not work perfectly with this update. For the best experience, we recommend starting a new demo save.

Quick-store items to chests

As always, thank you for playing and sending your feedback through various channels. As a thank-you, I wanted to create a free content update to expand the replayability of the game. Big, big thank you again. While the game didnāt reach as many people as I hoped, Iām grateful that people still play it and seem to enjoy it.
The Armory update gives you new ways to replay the content, hopefully creating more fun.
Big points are:
6 new weapons
New weapon drop game mode
3 new difficulty modes
Expanded Score Attack mode with offline leaderboards
Russian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese localization
Iāve added new weapons to spice up your runthroughs. You can access these guns from the new Armory menu by enabling "random weapon drops". This feature gives enemies a random chance to drop a weapon from the pool of available guns.
Since these new weapons can break the flow of the game, they only work in levels youāve already beaten, and they disable time trials. Mostly because some of these new guns are really overpowered, which leads me to...
In the Armory menu, you can enable up to 4 different difficulty modes.
Normal: Your regular experience as youāre used to.
Hard: Doubles enemiesā HP and armor values. This has actually become my favorite way to play, and part of me wishes it was the default at launch. It forces you to hack enemies and use the environment. If youāve been playing without linking enemies for multi-kills or breaking armor, youāre in for a rough time.
Overclck: Enemies double their values again, and everyone has armor now. Youāll need to use hacking abilities and powerups to gain the upper hand.
G1itch: The hardest mode doubles HP and armor values, gives everyone armor, and doubles their damage. Boost mode and slow-mo in hack mode will be your best friends here.
Each difficulty also awards a new badge in the level select, depending on what difficulty youāve beaten the level on. It forces you to play Deadwire the way itās meant to be played and ties directly into the enhanced score mode.
With all the new weapons and difficulty modes, Iāve also expanded Score Mode. If you didnāt notice before, you can toggle it on in the level select. Eliminating enemies now gives you score, and performing different actions or hacks gives even more. Combos and accuracy increase your multiplier, and with the new update, you can get even higher multipliers depending on the selected difficulty.
Each level now has an offline leaderboard that keeps track of your top 3 scores across all difficulties.
This update adds localization for Simplified Chinese, Russian, and Japanese. Enjoy!

Hello everyone š
This small update focuses on player convenience and accessibility so more players can enjoy the game comfortably on repeat playthroughs.
You can now skip the entire game introduction
Skipping creates a checkpoint at the start of gameplay
Pressing Continue after skipping will drop you directly into the game world with no intro and no tutorial sequence
If you want the full story intro and all tutorial tapes again, choose New Game
Added a Skip Intro Cutscene feature to jump into the game faster

I read the reviews mentioning that some players dislike the typing minigame and felt it was too mentally draining.
The skip function makes sure everyone can enjoy the story and gameplay without feeling like they need to fry their brains to progress. The minigame still exists for those who enjoy it, but now you can bypass the intro and get right into the core game experience.
This feature was highly requested by players who finished the intro and wanted faster restarts or easier access to later playthroughs and testing.
Thank you for the support, feedback and patience. I will keep improving the game and listening to your thoughts. More updates and polish coming soon.
Stay safe and enjoy the game

TL;DR: The gameās full release is delayed to 2026, hopefully May or June, will confirm closer to the release date. As Gabe Newell said, āLate is just for a little while, suck is forever,ā and I think weād all rather it didnāt suck.
Arcadie: Cold Lands will unfortunately not release in 2025.
The choice was simple; either do a rush job of it and release something I would not be proud of and disappoint most of you, or keep working at my current pace, and delay the release.
I opted for the latter, and I think most of us can agree that it's the better choice.
Iām now hoping, and planning for an early 2026 release.
Stay tuned, and see you soon!
